Stop Focusing On Symptoms – TREM Devotional 20 March 2019

Topic: Stop Focusing On Symptoms [TREM Devotional 20 March 2019]

“While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 KJV

Stop looking at the things which the devil is bringing against your life because whatsoever he is doing or showing you is for a moment. It will soon pass. Hold fast to God’s word, meditate on the Word, think on the Word and speak it. Speak it in the morning, afternoon and night. Soon you will see it manifest.

Fix your mind on the answer not on the problem because “for as he thinketh in his heart so is he…’ (Proverbs 23:7). If you keep on thinking it, you will start acting it. Many of us want to understand how it works but Jesus said, the kingdom of heaven is like when a man sows a seed in the ground; you can’t understand how the seed is springing forth. Hold unto the Word. The Word is eternal but what you are seeing is temporary. The Word made everything that you need. The Word is quick. It has the power to create what you want. So as you keep on speaking the Word and you keep on thinking it, things will begin to change.

Don’t ever believe what the devil is saying. The devil will do his job and he is very active at it. But you also have to learn to do what you are supposed to do. How dare you rise up from the place of the Word and prayer and say nothing is working? That is exactly what he wants you to say. That is exactly the position he wants to place you in. He wants you to begin to doubt God because of your immediate circumstance. You need to understand that the devil operates in the realm of symptoms, circumstances and the flesh. He tells you, ‘Look, nothing has happened! Your situation hasn’t changed!” Don’t fall for his lies.

Don’t believe him. Keep your focus on the Word. The Word has no margin for failure.

DCLM Daily Manna 20 March 2019 – The Enemy’s Strategy

Topic: The Enemy’s Strategy [DCLM Daily Manna 20 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Matthew 10:16-33 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28).

MESSAGE:

In 2005, a scholarly article outlined 5 strategies terror groups employ for a successful terror crusade. One and the most common strategy is ‘spreading fear for international effects’. Why do you hear of suicide bombing and other hard shattering gruesome killings by terrorists? It is to create the waves of fear, to weaken the resolve of civil people and to make the war against terror a hard-to-win affair.

Preparing the mind of His sheep against marauding wolves, our Lord Jesus gave a glimpse of what to expect from prosecutors in the last days. Persecutors will stop at nothing to threaten, beat, kill and maim those who believe in Christ. Some of these persecutions may even be hosted by family members or close kin. But the Lord gave us an idea of what the most potent weapon of the enemy is, that is fear. The very aim of persecutors is to entrench fear into the heart of their victim.

When Stephen, the first martyr of the early Church, was stoned to death by the religious Jews, the news sent ripples of fear to practicing and would-be Christians. The persecutors were invariably sending a determined message to those who believed in Jesus and those who would want to. But thank God for the resolute commitment on the part of early believers, who though persecuted for their faith, endured to the end.

The persecution of believers in Christ Jesus is on the increase in many places today. We are to pray for those persecuted and provide the needed succour where possible. When persecuted, we should remember that Christ our Master has both tasted and suffered persecution. Therefore, reacting the way He did will help us overcome. There might be a need to escape a deadly attack from the enemy in order to preserve the truth. But no believer should ever renounce his faith because of persecution.

Thought For The Day: The sting of terror, but God’s Judgement is eternal!

Seeds of Destiny 20 March 2019 Devotional – Understanding Prayer

Topic: Understanding Prayer [Seeds of Destiny 20 March 2019 Devotional]

We rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

SCRIPTURE: But we will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the Word. Acts 6:4 (AMP)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

In our previous studies, we saw that prayer is necessary for dedication to God. We also saw the products and profits of prayer. Now, it is very important to know what prayer is all about. This is because nothing can be outstanding without understanding. It is one thing to know the importance or products of prayer, it is another thing to know what prayer is all about. The combination of the importance and understanding of prayer is key to fuelling our dedication to God.

Now, what is prayer?

Prayer is the servicing of our relationship with our heavenly Father through the communication of our value and worship for Him as well as our thoughts and desires to Him.

At the place of prayer, we communicate with our Heavenly Father; we express our value for Him to Him, we communicate our worship for Him to Him, and we also communicate our thoughts and desires to Him.

At the place of prayer, we let God know how much we value Him; and we also let Him know what is on our mind and what we desire Him to do for us. This is what prayer is all about.

This means, we deprive ourselves of allowing God to know our thoughts and desires if we do not pray; we rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

Beloved, it is important to know that relationships are serviced by communication and when we don’t pray, we deprive ourselves of our relationship with God. Therefore, make up your mind to pray always.

Remember this: We rob ourselves of communion and relationship with God if we do not pray.

Consequences of Indiscipline – MFM Daily Devotional 20 March 2019

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 20 March 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Consequences of Indiscipline

TOPIC: Consequences of Indiscipline (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 20 March 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 4-6; Luke 1:1-20

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Corinthians 10:1-11

MEMORY VERSE: “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.” – 1 Corinthians 10:12

The MESSAGE:

It is not out of place to state that denial of the Lord in the face of temptations, as seen with Peter in Matthew 26:69-75, is indiscipline. If Peter had disciplined himself after Jesus had predicted he would deny Him thrice and prayed, he might have been saved from shame and agony.

To be gluttonous is indiscipline too. A Christian who attends a social function and eats and drink everything served is not disciplined. There is a story of a Christian heading a manufacturing company. He was so disciplined that he does not eat outside, be it at a social function or in a friend’s house. What he always asked for was table water. At a time, there was an end of the year party in his company where he was supposed to eat and merry with everybody. When it was time to start eating “oga patapata” asked that his food be packed in a container and given to his driver to be delivered at home. Others ate theirs there. However, because the man always disciplined himself by fasting and was always careful, he asked that the food be given to his dog at home because his wife and children were abroad. The following day when he got back to work, all the workers that ate the food (fried rice) were all admitted in the hospital for food poisoning. Only the man was saved.

What happened was that the rice prepared by the caterer was mistakenly left somewhere where some rat poison found its way into the food. The following morning which was the party day, the caterer just warmed the food, took some to the party and served the guests.

If not for the Christian discipline which was the man’s way of life, he too would have been one of the victims of food poisoning. Beloved, heed the Bible’s command to watch and pray as well as to be sober and vigilant!

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF GOD; LET IT GLORIFY GOD ALWAYS.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Gluttony will not abort your destiny.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Father Lord, make me a prayer addict, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Every temptation in my way, be uprooted, in the name of Jesus.
  3. I will not eat at the table of my enemies, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. Every night caterer hunting for my life, somersault and perish, in the name of Jesus.
  5. I will have the last laugh over my enemies, in the name of Jesus.
  6. Father Lord, make me a good example unto others, in the name of Jesus.
  7. Every evil spirit disguising as a helper, be destroyed by the fire of the Holy Ghost, in the name of Jesus.

Be Clothed With Humility – Kenneth Copeland Devotional 20 March 2019

Topic: Be Clothed With Humility [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 20 March 2019]

And be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. – 1 Peter 5:5

Most believers don’t know anything about true humility. If you tell them they’re the righteousness of God, they’ll fight to keep from believing it. You can give them scripture references to prove it, and they’ll still argue.

“Oh no,” they’ll say, “I’m not righteous. I’m just an old sinner saved by grace.” They’re making a sincere attempt to be humble. But they’re sincerely wrong. They’re so afraid of being exalted by pride that they’ve let Satan trick them into falling right into it.

Let me show you what I mean. According to 1 Peter 5:5-6, to be truly humble is to submit to God. That means when God says something, you believe it no matter how foreign to your “religious” thinking it may be. When He says you’ve been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, you say that too. In fact, you wouldn’t dare say anything else because to do so would be to dare to disagree with God. And, when you get right down to it, that’s the ultimate form of pride, isn’t it?

Don’t let Satan keep you groveling in the dust of false humility. Agree with God. Find out what His Word says about you, then be bold enough to say it yourself. Banish pride by submitting to His truth. Clothe yourself in true humility. It’s sure to look good on you.

Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 5:5-11

Joy in Trials – Anglican Communion 20 March 2019

The Daily Fountain Daily Devotional of the Church Of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) 20 March 2019 – Joy in Trials

TOPIC: Joy in Trials

READ: 1 Peter 1:1-12 King James Version (KJV)

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

6 Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

THE MESSAGE:

Apostle Peter writing to the early Christians, who were scattered throughout the world because of persecution, addressed them as pilgrims and God’s elect. By implication, Christians have been chosen by God, are strangers in this world and are on a journey to heaven. In verses 3-4, Peter informed the believers about the benefits they have in Christ Jesus as a result of being born again. These include: a living hope which cannot disappoint them and an inheritance that is incorruptible and kept in heaven. Beloved, the plan of God for his people is wonderful; however it must be accessed by faith in Christ Jesus through a new life. Are you born again to be part of this inheritance?

Furthermore, a believer can only partake of this inheritance when he overcomes trials and temptations which may come to him. In this, Peter encourages all to be joyful when they face such situations. They are a means to proving the genuineness of our faith and leading us into our inheritance. Trials and sufferings are part of our faith; they are not meant to destroy but to refine us. When they come, we should not give in to bitterness and despair, rather we should persevere, believing that God is in control. Definitely we shall come out victorious.

Prayer: Lord, save all who are facing diverse trials and afflictions.

Naturally Holy – Andrew Wommack Devotional 20 March 2019

John 5:14, “Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

Text: John 5:1-15

In saying this, Jesus shows that sin causes the tragedies that come into our lives. The reason for holiness in the life of the believer is that when we obey sin, we yield ourselves to Satan, the author of that sin. Yielding to sin is yielding to a person – Satan. God doesn’t impute the sin to us but the devil does. Our actions either release the power of Satan or the power of God in us.

Although God is not imputing our sins unto us, we cannot afford the luxury of sin because it allows Satan to have access to us. When a Christian sins and allows the devil opportunity to produce his death in their life, the way to stop it is to confess the sin, and God who is faithful and just, will take the forgiveness that is already present in our born again spirit and release it in our flesh. This removes Satan and his strongholds.

The sins of a Christian don’t make him a sinner any more than the righteous acts of a sinner make him righteous. Sin is a very deadly thing that even Christians should avoid at all costs, but it does not determine our standing with the Lord. A person who is born again is not “in” the flesh even though he may walk “after” the flesh.

What is the motive for living a separated life? We live a separated life because our nature has been changed. We were darkness, now we are light (Eph. 5:8). Many people argue for holiness in order to obtain relationship with God. We need to live holy lives because of the relationship that we already have. It’s the nature of a Christian to walk in the light and not in darkness. If Christians were rightly informed of who they are and what they have in Christ, holiness would just naturally flow out of them. It’s their nature. It’s our nature.

Standing Firm – Billy Graham Devotional 20 March 2019

Topic: Standing Firm [Billy Graham Devotional 20 March 2019]

So use every piece of God’s armor to resist the enemy whenever he attacks, and when it is all over, you will still be standing up.Ephesians 6:13 (TLB)

Daniel and his companions were tempted to forsake their godly heritage, but they refused. They even faced a fiery furnace rather than compromise. God honored their faith and mightily used them. Moses was surrounded by the luxury and godlessness of the Egyptian court, but cast in his lot with his own people. Lot lived in Sodom and saw the obscenities of that doomed city. God saved him out of it because he trusted in Him. Every one of our Lord’s apostles sealed their faith with their lives. Since then, history has been replete with the lives of men who have put God and His way of life above all else.

Prayer for the day: Help me to stand by faith in You, when I am tempted, almighty God.

Beto O’Rourke Backs 3rd-Trimester Abortion: ‘I Trust’ the Woman

Beto O’Rourke Backs 3rd-Trimester Abortion: ‘I Trust’ the Woman

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke said Monday he supports third-trimester abortions, adding that it’s a decision that should be left up to the woman.

Speaking in Ohio, O’Rourke fielded a question from a voter who is presumably pro-life.

“Are you for third-trimester abortion?” the woman asked. “Are you gonna protect the lives of third-trimester babies? Because there’s really not a medical necessity for abortion. It’s not a medical emergency procedure, because typically third-trimester abortions take up to three days to have, so you would, in that sense, if there was an emergency, the doctors would just do a C-Section, and you don’t have to kill the baby in that [instance]. So, are you for or against third-trimester abortions?”

O’Rourke said he backed such abortions.

“The question is about abortion and reproductive rights, and my answer to you is that should be a decision that the woman makes,” O’Rourke responded to applause. “… I trust her.”

Earlier this year, Omar L. Hamada, a Nashville-based OB/GYN, sparked a social media debate when he…

Faith-Based Environmental Activists Call on UN Assembly to Address Human Side of Climate Change – Urban Christian News

At a small tent on the edge of the U.N. campus here, environmental activists from the world’s faith traditions huddled on the sidelines of last week’s March 11-15 meeting of some 5,000 environmental scientists, politicians and civil society, the fourth gathering of the United Nations Environment Assembly.

As the official delegates discussed current environmental challenges, sustainable consumption and production, the faith leaders, who joined the assembly for the first time in a U.N.-sponsored event called “Faith for Earth Dialogue,” talked about what religion’s role is in environmental protection.

“Religious leaders have a unique role to play in promoting ecological sustainability, especially because 85 percent of the (world’s) people are affiliated with a religion,” said Rabbi Yonatan Neril, who is the founder and executive director of the Interfaith Center for Sustainable Development in Jerusalem and attended the event.

The faith-based group unexpectedly served as a spiritual presence after the Ethiopian Airlines crash, which particularly affected the U.N.’s offices in Nairobi, a hub of the international aid community that lost several members in the disaster.

The assembly, which represented more than 170 United Nations member states, said it had delivered a bold blueprint for change that directs a radical shift in the approach to tackling environmental challenges.

The group…
