‘God, Your Love Is Better’: Lauren Daigle Shares How God’s Love Helps Her Through Her Anxiety

‘God, Your Love Is Better’: Lauren Daigle Shares How God’s Love Helps Her Through Her Anxiety

In a question and answer session in Knoxville, TN, Christian singer, Lauren Daigle shared how God leads her through her anxiety.

During the “Look Up Child” tour Q&A posted to Instagram, a mother and daughter approached the microphone to ask Daigle for advice on dealing with anxiety.

According to Relevant Magazine, the two-time Grammy award winner shared, “I wouldn’t necessarily say ‘Oh I am an anxious person,’ until anxiety comes.”

She continued, “There are times where I’m like ‘What is happening? This isn’t me, this isn’t me. Someone told me a long time ago, they said, ‘perfect love casts out all fear,’ and I remember listening to that over and over and over again – perfect love casts out all fear.”

Then Daigle told the audience of something that she is constantly reminded of. She said, “Well, I know someone who loves me beyond my wildest imagination, beyond my wildest dreams. And He has a love that’s so rich for me, that He’s actually looking out for yesterday, today and tomorrow. And he can see the things that I can’t see.”

Daigle shared that when she feels anxious, she reminds herself that God’s love is greater than her anxiety could ever be.

She said, “Even now, as an adult, when more anxiety has been added to my life… I have to say, ‘Okay God, I want to know what you see for…

People Protest Economic Situation in Gaza, Hamas Soldiers Raid Homes, Arrest Journalists

Hamas soldiers arrested several journalists in Gaza Sunday during protests between Hamas security officials and protestors demonstrating against Gaza’s economic state.

According to the Times of Israel, the journalists were arrested for reporting on the incident, but they are expected to be released soon.

Hamas militants also arrested hundreds of civilians who were participating in the protests, according to Wafa, the Palestinian Authority’s news agency.

The United Nations’ envoy to Israel, Nickolay Mladenov, said Hamas soldiers used violence to make their arrests.

“I condemn the Hamas violence in #Gaza against protesters, women, #children; journalists & human rights activists,” he wrote on his Twitter page. “#Palestinian factions must engage with Egypt on the basis of the Cairo Agreement. #UN is working to avoid escalation, lift the closures, & support reconciliation.”

He said that the people had a right to protest.

“The long-suffering people of Gaza were protesting the dire economic…

‘Only compassion, love and faith’ can comfort loved ones, Archbishop says

Lauren Bullock, 17, Morgan Barnard, 17, and 16-year-old Connor Currie, from Dungannon in Co Tyrone, died in the tragedy at the Greenvale Hotel.

Archbishop Eamon Martin said the joy and celebration of Saint Patrick’s Day in the Archdiocese of Armagh “has given way to shock and sadness”.

“Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of Lauren, Connor and Morgan, and with all of those who were caught up in the horror and distress of what happened, including those injured and traumatised, and the emergency services and staff who responded.”

Police said it appeared that people had fallen and then been fatally injured, but are still investigating the cause.

Up to 400 people were in the queue or in the car park at the time and police investigating the deaths have said there could have easily been more deaths.

Archbishop Eamon highlighted how difficult it would be for the victims’ loved ones to come to terms with what happened.

He added: “The sudden loss of any life makes us stop in our tracks and ask, ‘Why?’ – but when the lives of three young people are taken away so abruptly, and in the fullness of their youth and potential, we are left speechless and the grief is overwhelming.

“Words are inadequate at times like this: only compassion, love and faith can offer consolation to their loved ones and a glimpse of hope in the resurrection of Christ.”

Books of condolence were opened on Tuesday…

Boko Haram Militants Terrify Residents in Attacks in Northeast Nigeria

Boko Haram Militants Terrify Residents in Attacks in Northeast Nigeria

JOS, Nigeria, March 19, 2019 (Morning Star News) – After burning a church building in northeastern Nigeria’s Borno state on Thursday (March 14), Boko Haram terrorists yesterday evening attacked a Christian-majority town in neighboring Adamawa state, sources said.

Area residents said Muslim extremists of the Boko Haram insurgency last night invaded Michika, a town they had seized in September 2014 and held until Nigerian troops recaptured it at the end of January 2015. The attack sent many residents fleeing into the surrounding mountains, with reports of the bombing of a bank and an as yet unknown number of casualties.

Mathew Favandzaer, chairman of the Michika Local Government Council, confirmed the attack, telling Morning Star News by phone that numbers of casualties and displaced persons were yet unknown. The Church of the Brethren has a strong presence in the town, whose greater area is estimated to comprise more than 375,000 people, including many Muslims among the Christian majority.

The Church of the Brethren sent an alert through Twitter urging members to pray for Christians in Michika: “Even as we extend caring to those affected by flooding in plains states & continue to grieve with the Muslim community in NZ, word has come of attacks on Michika, Nigeria, today. ‘Thus says the Lord God…Put away violence.’”

Adamawa State Police spokesman Othman…

Pope rejects French Cardinal’s resignation after priest cover-up

Barbarin had travelled to the Vatican on Monday to present his resignation following the 7th March verdict and six-month suspended sentence.

Vatican spokesman Alessandro Gisotti said that during the audience, Francis did not accept the resignation and instead asked Barbarin to do what he thinks is best for the archdiocese.

Barbarin has decided to take time away and has asked his deputy in Lyon, the Rev Yves Baumgarten, to assume leadership of the archdiocese, Mr Gisotti said.

“The Holy See repeats its closeness to victims of abuse, to the faithful of the archdiocese of Lyon and the French church who are living in a particularly difficult moment,” Mr Gisotti said.

The French court found that Barbarin had an obligation to report the Rev Bernard Preynat to civil authorities when he learned of his abuse.

Preynat, who is scheduled to be tried on sexual violence charges next year, confessed to abusing Boy Scouts in the 1970s and 1980s. His victims accuse Barbarin and other church authorities of covering up for him for years.

Barbarin has appealed against the conviction, which could have influenced Francis’s decision to not immediately accept his resignation. Francis has been reluctant to take such measures in case they influence the outcome of trials.

Last year, he reluctantly accepted the resignation of one of his key supporters, Washington Cardinal Donald Wuerl, after…

Open Heaven 20 March 2019 – Wives, learn from Leah

Open Heaven 20 March 2019 Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Wives, learn from Leah

Topic: Wives, learn from Leah (Open Heaven 20 March 2019)

Memorise: “A man’s gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.”- Proverbs 18:16

Read: Genesis 30:14-18 (KJV)

14 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son’s mandrakes.

15 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son’s mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son’s mandrakes.

16 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son’s mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.

17 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.

18 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

Bible in One Year: 2 Corinthians 4-7, Jeremiah 2:4-25

Open Heaven 20 March 2019 Wednesday MESSAGE:

The Almighty in His wisdom designed the world in such a way that every person has an area of comparative advantage in life. However, it takes wisdom for an individual to make the best legitimate use of his or her comparative advantage to prosper in this world. This is why the Bible says wisdom is the principal thing (Proverb 4:7), the Bible further says in Proverbs 14:1:

“Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.”

Leah, the first wife of Jacob, was someone who used what she had wisely in order to succeed in the hostile marriage she found herself in. we can therefore learn a lot from her. Whether by accident or the design of her father, Leah married an unwilling Jacob. However, the Lord in His sovereignty made her very fruitful in the area of child-bearing, and this made up for what she lacked in her husband’s eyes. Being a wise woman, she used this blessing of fruitfulness to her advantage in opposition to Rachel, her sister-turned-rival, who unlike her was attractive and her husband’s favorites. Without this, Rachel would have totally dominated Leah in Jacob’s home.

Leah managed to keep her matrimonial home through wisdom. Unfortunately, many Christian sisters foolishly throw away their marriages to home-breakers and other third parties because they fail to apply wisdom and self-control. Their coldness makes them so detached from their husbands that they end up becoming strangers to one another. Leah was wise and possessed the fruit of longsuffering, which she used to her advantage at every given opportunity to draw her husband closer to herself.

Moreover, take note of what Leah said in Genesis 30:15a:

“And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband?”

In spite of Jacob’s animosity towards her, she believed she was Jacob’s lawful wife, and it paid off for her down the line. Even though her husband did not reciprocate her love, she focused on her home, and she successfully produced more than half of the twelve tribes of Israel, including the priesthood tribe of Levi and the royal tribe of Judah. Today, some Church leaders dissolve marriages with impunity, using social and psychological models to justify their claims against biblical injunctions. This should not be so. What is that challenge facing your marriage? Take it to the Lord today in prayer, asking Him for wisdom to handle it, and you will laugh last. You have the strength not only to cope but also to overcome! Go ahead and use it, and God will give you respite in your home.

Open Heaven 20 March 2019 Wednesday Prayer Point:

Father, send your peace to all homes that are in disarray in Jesus’ Name.

Six Christians Killed in Attack by Islamic Militants

Six Christians Killed in Attack by Islamic Militants

A rebel group with ties to a militant Islamic group has killed six Christians – including a 9-year-old – during a nighttime attack in a mostly Christian province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

According to field sources for Open Doors USA, rebels of the Allied Democratic Forces – pretending to be security agents – opened fire after approaching the village of Kalau, killing three women. Nearly 500 residents fled the assault, heading to the nearby city of Beni in the Congo’s North Kivu province.

In a phone interview with Open Doors, a local nurse with Nyankunde hospital said the attackers then proceeded toward the house of the village head, where they shot the guard dogs. Two more villagers—among hundreds fleeing the gunfire—were killed.

One of Kalau’s community leaders, who asked for anonymity because of safety fears, said rebels plan to move away from their past strategy of “kidnapping and killings.”

“They want to move to the stage of occupying the territory,” the leader said“They want to occupy the area they claim as theirs.”

Observers anticipate that the attack is likely to be followed by more violence at the hands of ADF.

ADF was formed in 1995 by Ugandan Muslim rebels to oppose the government after the army forced them out of the country. ADF fighters are believed to have killed at least 700 civilians and more than 20 UN…

Security fund for places of worship in UK doubled after New Zealand attack

The amount available for religious buildings seeking to enhance premises will rise to £1.6 million in 2019-20.

Launched in 2016, the places of worship security fund helps churches, mosques, temples and gurdwaras in England and Wales to install alarms, security lighting, fencing and CCTV cameras to deter attackers.

So far, more than a third of grants have been awarded to mosques. Synagogues are covered by a separate scheme.

The Government had previously committed £2.4m over three years – or £800,000 a year.

Announcing the financial boost for the next financial year, Mr Javid said: “The horrific events in New Zealand are a direct attack on the values of tolerance and freedom of worship that unite us all.

“Nobody should ever fear persecution of their faith and it’s vital we stand together to reject those who seek to spread hatred and divide us.

“I know many Muslim communities are feeling vulnerable and anxious. But they should seek comfort from knowing we are doing everything to tackle hate and extremism.

“That’s why we are doubling next year’s places of worship fund – providing physical protection as well as peace of mind.”

To increase uptake, the Home Office said the bidding process for the fund will be simplified so organisations no longer have to prove they have previously experienced a hate crime incident directly.

In addition, a new £5 million fund will be set up to provide protective security training…

Former Transgender Teens: It Was the ‘in’ Thing to Do

Former Transgender Teens: It Was the ‘in’ Thing to Do

Four women who formerly identified as transgender men are speaking out, saying influence from social media and friends led them to transition as teens.

Their condition, known as “rapid-onset gender dysphoria,” is controversial in the transgender community because it implies transgenderism can be a fad, and not something born solely from internal feelings. In rapid-onset gender dysphoria, teens transition quickly due to influence from friends and social media.

The four women are part of the Pique Resilience Project.

“All four of us experienced Rapid-Onset Gender Dysphoria (ROGD) and subsequently identified as trans men for several of our teenage years,” their website says. “We have all since detransitioned/desisted and have been able to explore other individual factors that may have caused or exacerbated our dysphoria.”

National Review interviewed three of them. The women don’t use their last names.

“It was very much the ‘in’ thing to do,” Helena said of transitioning.

She was, she said, “very confused about life.”

“When I found this trans stuff online I felt it explained everything: why I didn’t like my body, why I was bullied, why I didn’t fit in,” Helena told National Review. “Just every question and problem that I had I just felt it was automatically answered. Explained by this trans thing. But not only was it explained it…

Churches to host cafes to pray about Brexit

Backed by the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, the plan is for people to: “get together and chat over a cup of tea and pray for our country and our future’.

Churches will be given packs with Bible-passages and questions to prompt discussion, such as: ‘What effect has Brexit had in your family relationships, friendships etc and if you disagreed, has it been possible to disagree well?’ and: ‘What are the three main things we have in common that we can build on for a better future as a community and as a nation?’

Bishop of Chelsmford, RT Rev Stephen Cottrell, told Premier: “This process that we’re embroiled in which appears to be unravelling right now and will probably change again tomorrow, there will come a point where it comes to an end – when we wake up on that day we’re still neighbours to one another and the thing that distresses me is that we’re defining ourselves so much now by ‘are you leave?’, ‘are you remain?’, we’ve got to put an end to that and say whichever way you voted…we’re still sisters and brothers to one another!”

He added that the cafe will be focussing on how to move on with a healthy attitude to people with different opinions: “The conversation is not about Brexit but about how we can love one another, how can we be good neighbours to one another?

“Brexit has created a situation in this country which I don’t think we’ve seen for years…
