Stand Against the Devil’s Strategies! – Kenneth Copeland Devotional 19 March 2019

Topic: Stand Against the Devil’s Strategies! [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 19 March 2019]

Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]. – Ephesians 4:27, The Amplified Bible

If you give the devil place, he will take it. You have to stay alert and keep your shield of faith high because if you don’t, he’ll turn around and steal back from you the ground you just took.

There have been people who have received their healing and have fallen back into their old thinking patterns of sickness. They let their faith down and gave the devil an opening. When he came along with an old symptom, they weren’t ready for him. They fell victim to his counterattack.

You can stand successfully against the devil’s strategies! But before you do, you’re going to have to make three quality decisions.

First, you must make the Word of God the final authority in your life. Line up your thinking with whatever the Word says.

Next, you must decide to live your life by faith in what God has said. The Bible says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17, New King James Version).

Finally, you must decide to live by the love of God because faith works by love. Without love, your faith won’t function. Without the Word, you can’t have faith. So don’t try to make one of these decisions without the other two. You need to make all three of them. This lifestyle of the Word, faith and love keeps you in a place of resistance to the devil!

I suggest you get alone with God and pray:

In the Name of Jesus, I commit myself from this day forward to live by the Word of God, to live by my faith, and to live by the love of God.

Decide today to give the devil no place!

Something New – Andrew Wommack Devotional 19 March 2019

Topic: Something New [Andrew Wommack Devotional 19 March 2019]

Luke 5:36-37, “And he spake a parable unto them; No man putteth a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new maketh a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agreeth not with the old. And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.”

Text: Matthew 9:11-17, Mark 2:16-22, Luke 5:30-39

These two parables are in response to the scribes’ and Pharisees’ criticism (v. 30) and the question from John’s disciples about why Jesus didn’t act according to their religious traditions and expectations (Mt. 9:14; Mk. 2:18). The gist of these parables was to show that Jesus came to do a new thing that would not mix with the old covenant ways that were familiar to people (Isa. 43:18-19; Jer. 31:31-34; Heb. 8:7-13).

A new cloth sown on an old garment in Jesus’ day would shrink the first time it was washed. Then it would tear away from the old garment that had already shrunk, making the hole worse. This illustrates that Jesus did not come to patch up the old Mosaic covenant, but to replace it (Heb. 7:18-19).

Also, new wine (not yet fermented) had to be put into new or reconditioned wineskins to allow for the expansion of gases within the skin as the result of the fermentation process. Otherwise, an old wineskin that had already been stretched by use would simply burst and all the wine would run out. The Old Testament laws could never stretch enough to accommodate the New Testament truths of mercy and grace (Heb. 10:1-10). Jesus set us free from the judgment of the Old Testament laws (Rom. 6:14; 7:1-4; 8:2; 10:3-4; Gal. 3:12-14, 23-24; 5:4; Phil. 3:9).

These religious scribes and Pharisees (Lk. 5:30) were making the terrible mistake of trusting in their own efforts to produce their right standing (righteousness) with God. Jesus did not come to accept our sacrificial acts, but to make Himself a sacrifice for our sins. He did all this to give us new life in Him. Thank Him for His grace today.

We Need Faith – Billy Graham Devotional 19 March 2019

Topic: We Need Faith [Billy Graham Devotional 19 March 2019]

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. — Mark 11:22

Dr. Wernher von Braun, the guiding scientist in the development of our great space rockets, has said, “The materialists of the 19th century and the Marxist heirs of the 20th tried to tell us that as science yields more knowledge about the creation, it makes us able to live without faith in a Creator. Yet so far, with every new answer we have discovered new questions. The better we understand the intricacies of the atomic structure, the nature of life and the master plan for the galaxies, the more reason we have found to marvel at the wonder of God’s creation. But our need for God is not based on awe alone. Man needs faith just as he needs food, water, and air. With all the science in the world, we need faith in God.”

Why do we need religion, since so much of the world is explained by science? Read Billy Graham’s answer.

Prayer for the day: Father, man’s incredible inventions are so insignificant when I contemplate Your magnificent creation. Yet, in complete dependence, I realize my need of faith in You for my smallest need.

Open Heaven 19 March 2019 – Husbands, learn from Joseph

Open Heaven 19 March 2019 Tuesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Husbands, learn from Joseph

Topic: Husbands, learn from Joseph (Open Heaven 19 March 2019)

Memorise: “Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.”- 1 Corinthians 13:7

Read: Matthew 1:18-25 (KJV)

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Bible in One Year: 2 Corinthians 1-3, Jeremiah 1:1-2:3

Open Heaven 19 March 2019 Tuesday MESSAGE:

One thing our world needs now, more than ever before, is love. This is why today, we will be studying love in action, taking a look at Joseph, the husband of Mary. After having been betrothed to Joseph, Mary was chosen by God to be the vessel of honor that He would use to bring the Savior of mankind into the world. She was overshadowed by the Holy Spirit and became pregnant out of wedlock. If Joseph did not take responsibility for this pregnancy, a great calamity would have befallen Mary and put the salvation of mankind in jeopardy, because she would have been stoned to death as required under Jewish law. Thankfully, Joseph stepped up and covered Mary by marrying her. One lesson we can learn from this incident is that our God is perfect in judgment. He carefully chose a just man to be the husband of His chosen vessel. If Joseph had been a wicked soul, he would have made a public show of what happened to Mary, even though she did nothing wrong. Being a righteous man, he planned to divorce Mary privately to avert the shame and adverse judgment that would have befallen her by Mosaic Law, until he discovered that she was pregnant by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Bible says that love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). As a husband, would you excel if tested in the school of love? To avoid a lifetime of agony, Christian ladies should also learn from this story that when choosing a life-partner, he must be a God-fearing man who shares their faith.

22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” – Matthew 1:22-23

Some unexpected things happen in marriage to fulfill a divine purpose, and as believers we need to understand that they will always work together for our good (Romans 8:28). Husbands need to learn self discipline from Joseph’s example. Matthew 1:25 says of him:

“And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.”

When it comes to sexual intercourse, some husbands cannot hold themselves, even for a day! They terrify and harass their wives into having sex without consent. While it is true that the woman’s body belongs to her husband, the word of God also encourages mutual consent between husband and wife in the area of sexual intimacy (1 Corinthians 7:5). Are you biding by this standard?

Indiana Court Rules Sale of Aborted Babies Is Now Illegal

Indiana Court Rules Sale of Aborted Babies Is Now Illegal

The sale of aborted baby body parts is now illegal, according to a court ruling that approved an Indiana law.

The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that a previous trial judge’s decision to block the law be removed, paving the way for the law to be put in place.

According to the law, a “person who intentionally acquires, receives, sells, or transfers fetal tissue commits unlawful transfer of fetal tissue, a level 5 felony.”

The dispute started when the University of Indiana sued for the right to use the aborted tissue for research.

According to Courthouse News, an Indiana professor “has been using fetal tissue in his research since 2011 as a control to understand differences between and healthy and unhealthy brains.”

University officials claimed in their suit that the law violated the First Amendment.

In the most recent ruling in the case, the judge said the state’s law was “not equivalent” to a prohibition on free speech.

He added that the ruling “does not eliminate the possibility of serious debate about when, if at all, it is ethical to perform medical experiments on aborted fetal tissue.”

The ruling in Indiana is the latest following the 2015 undercover videos from the Center for Medical Progress, which showed Planned Parenthood executives discussing the process of acquiring and selling aborted baby parts.

Deadly Flooding Forces Hundreds to Evacuate across the Midwest

Deadly Flooding Forces Hundreds to Evacuate across the Midwest

Dangerously high levels of water have forced hundreds of people in the American Midwest to evacuate their homes.

According to NBC News, Mid-Western states including Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota and Minnesota were flooded after temperatures began to rise above the freezing mark, melting the record-breaking amount of snow on the ground and heavy rain began to fall over the states, overflowing rivers.

Reportedly, 300 rivers in the Midwest are currently at or above flood levels. According to the National Weather Service, the Missouri River at St. Joseph reached as high as 26 feet on Saturday, making it just a foot below “major flooding” level. The river is expected to reach 29.3 feet by Wednesday or Thursday, as more rain is expected in the area, USA Today reports.

The floods have left severe damage behind, NBC News reports. Reportedly, several river levees were breached on Saturday slowing evacuation efforts in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa and washing out bridges – including one straddling the Elkhorn River – and roads in the two states. Levees were also breached along the Platte River near Omaha, Nebraska and the Missouri River near Mills County, Iowa, leading to mandatory evacuations being issued in those areas.

According to NBC News, the flooding came after record-setting amounts of rain and snow began to wash over the land bringing the Missouri River and several…

Another 10 Christians Killed in Kaduna State as Carnage Continues in Nigeria, Sources Say

JOS, Nigeria, March 18, 2019 (Morning Star News) – Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed 10 Christians in southern Kaduna state, Nigeria on Saturday (March 16), bringing the lives lost in the past five weeks to 140 with 160 houses destroyed, sources said.

“We were all asleep in our various homes when at about 4 a.m. [Saturday], we heard gunshots everywhere in my village,” Amos Samuel, 40, of Nandu Gbok village in Sanga County told Morning Star News. “Everyone ran out of their homes to escape from the Fulani herdsmen. Three hours after the herdsmen left, those of us who survived the attack returned to the village to find that our houses were destroyed and 10 of our villagers killed.”

About 30 houses were burned in the attack, Sanga chairman Charles Danladi told Morning Star News, who also said 10 people were killed.

“The attack occurred while the villagers were still sleeping,” he said. “Normalcy has now been restored in the village, and we are making efforts to assist victims.”

Shehu Nicholas Garba, a member of Nigeria’s parliament, the National Assembly, and a resident of the area, said in a press statement that “about 10” people were killed and “about 30” houses were burned.

“Our communities are helpless and are pleading that all persons of conscience should speak out,” Garba said.

Pray for release of information says Claudia Lawrence’s family

On 19th March 2009, Claudia Lawrence, then 35, was reported missing to the police by her father Peter, having not turned up for a drink with her friend the night before nor turned up to work the next day.

Her body was never found and no one has ever been charged with murder.

On Monday, a press briefing was held in the Lady Chapel in York Minster with candles lit to remember her.

Claudia’s parents both have a Christian faith, with her mother Joan Lawrence saying on Monday: “I think we will get an answer. I pray every day that I will get one”.

Peter Lawrence couldn’t attend as he was told by doctors to stay at home but he insisted that the friends went ahead with the briefing in the chapel.

Friend and spokesperson for her father, Martin Dales, told Premier: “it was a very peaceful place to do a press briefing…we’re always amazed that they [the press] keep coming”.

Speaking of Peter Lawrence, he said: “I’ve been amazed, having been on this jounrey with him for ten years, that he’s stayed as well as he has done really…it’s a privilege to be with someone who’s got so much energy and desire to find answers for Claudia”.

Describing mr Lawrence’s hope, Mr Dales said; “He has a faith too, as with all of us, our faith manifests in different ways…obviously we all deal with these things slightly differently but he said on radio stations this morning that he would not have…

Iranian Attorney Sentenced to 38 Years, 148 Lashes for Defending Women Who Removed Their Head Scarves

Iranian Attorney Sentenced to 38 Years, 148 Lashes for Defending Women Who Removed Their Head Scarves

The husband of a human rights attorney in Iran recently announced that his wife has been sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes.

55-year-old Nasrin Sotoudeh faces spending most of the rest of her life in prison and an excruciating lashing simply because she defended seven women who had been arrested for protesting Iran’s hijab law by removing their head coverings in public.

Sotoudeh’s husband, Reza Kahndan, said that she faced charges of “assembly and collusion against national security,” “propaganda against the state,” “encouraging corruption and prostitution,” “appearing at the judiciary without Islamic hijab,” “disturbing public peace and order,” and “publishing falsehoods with the intent to disturb public opinion.” The Revolutionary Court in Tehran tried her in absentia when she refused to appear because she could not choose her own attorney. She told her husband that she has not received the length of her sentences in writing, but that she faces 5 years for one case and 33 for another.

This was not the first time Sotoudeh’s human rights work drew the ire of Iranian authorities. She was arrested in 2010 and sentenced to six years in prison for “activities against national security” and “propaganda against the regime.” She served some time before being released along with 10 other…

School Board Scolds Parents for Opposing Drag Queen’s Makeup Lesson

School Board Scolds Parents for Opposing Drag Queen’s Makeup Lesson

Concerned parents opposed to California’s new sex-ed curriculum and the use of drag queens in school functions were labeled “liars” and “fear-mongers” during a jam-packed school board meeting in Santa Ana last week.

“All these people were asking for was a say, a chance to be involved, to be heard and to be active participants in the education of their children,” wrote Townhall’s Kira Davis, who attended the meeting.

Instead, they received “contempt and disrespect,” she wrote.

At issue is California’s new sex-ed curriculum, which covers gay, lesbian and transgender issues. The parents packed the main room and the overflow room. Most were Hispanic.

“One mother said she only learned about the school’s ‘LGBT Fair’ after it had happened,” Davis wrote. “She was shocked to learn that a local drag performer had been offering make-up application lessons to the students during the fair and did not feel it was appropriate for any school-approved activity to include make-up lessons for 11-14-year-olds regardless of LGBT issues.

“She had not even been given the opportunity to opt her child out of such a thing,” Davis added.

The proposed curriculum, parents said, had not been made available in Spanish as required by state law.

“Some parents complained that they were purposefully being left in the dark because the school…
