Seeds of Destiny 17 March 2019 Devotional – The Products of Dedication to God’s Word

Topic: The Products of Dedication to God’s Word [Seeds of Destiny 17 March 2019 Devotional]

God’s Word carries the same power as the Presence of God.

SCRIPTURE: I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil. Psalm 119:162.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God’s Word carries the same power as the Presence of God.

Yesterday, we saw the profits of dedication to God’s Word; we saw that the Word of God builds strength and hope. The Word of God builds confidence, strength, energy, resilience and tenacity.

To explore the potency and importance of God’s Word, we shall look at two more profits of the Word of God:

i. The Word of God brings joy

The Word of God brings joy (Jeremiah 15:16).

You cannot be worded and be depressed. The secret of the joy is the Word of God. The Word of God is the therapy for depression and despair; either the Word you see from Scripture or the Word that is preached, God’s Word is the answer to the spirit of heaviness.

ii. The Word of God connects one to God’s Presence

The Word of God connects one to God’s Presence. The Presence of God is in His Word (1 Samuel 3:21). When God’s Word comes, God Himself appears. The Word of God connects one to God’s Presence. That is, the Presence of God is conveyed via His Word. Anywhere God’s Word is, God’s Presence is also there (John 1:1-5).

Every time you see a worded person, you would also feel God. God’s Word carries the same power as the Presence of God. So, when you see a worded person, you feel God’s Presence. This is because the Word of God connects you to God’s Presence and of course, God’s Presence preserves you (Psalm 23:4).

Beloved, my counsel is, make up your mind to be worded.

Remember this: God’s Word carries the same power as the Presence of God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make up your mind to avoid the lifestyle of depression.
  2. Connect to the joy and presence of the Lord through the Word of God.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: DEDICATION TO PRAYER AND THE WORD.

PRAYER: I receive the grace LORD to undertake a dutiful and diligent study of Your Word. Help me LORD to connect to joy and Your Presence by the Word, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY READING: Numbers 26:1 to 51, Luke 2:36 to 52, Psalm 60:1 to 12, Proverbs 11:15.

QUOTE: Nothing builds faith like the insight you get out of the Bible. It charges you up, and lives in your spirit. Culled from 15 KINGDOM STRATEGIES FOR SURVIVAL by Dr Paul Enenche.

DCLM Daily Manna 17 March 2019 – New Wine, New Bottle

Topic: New Wine, New Bottle [DCLM Daily Manna 17 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Matthew 9:14-26 (KJV)

Key Verse: “No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rest is made worse” (Matthew 9:16).

MESSAGE:

John Bunyan once wrote, “The happy man was born in the city of Regeneration, in the parish of Repentance unto life. He was educated in the School of Obedience; he works at the trade of Diligence and does many jobs of Self-denial. He owns a large estate in the country of Christian Contentment and wears the plain garments of humility. He breakfasts every morning on spiritual prayer and sups every evening on the same. He also has meat to eat that the world knows not of. He has gospel submission in his conduct, due order in his affection, sound peace in his conscience, sanctifying love in his soul, real divinity in his breast, true humility in his heart, the Redeemer’s yoke on his neck, the world under his feet, and a crown of glory over his head.” Bunyan’s description of the happy man is the picture of a Christian whose life is transformed by grace.

Using the illustration of garments and wine, Jesus told His disciples that there must be a clear difference between old things and new ones. Drawing heavily on the cultural practices of the Jews, He explained that old cloths would not go with new pieces neither would old bottles serve with new wine.

The christian life is a brand new relationship with the heavenly Father because of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. The death of Jesus on the cross brought forgiveness and pardon for our sins and opportunities of experiencing new relationship with the Lord. In the new life, new rules guide our walk in newness of life and we begin to do all things to the glory of God. That is why in the new life, miracles become our portion every day. Such was the experiences of the woman and the girl in our passage today. May such an experience be yours too in Jesus’ Name!

Thought For The Day: The cross of Jesus offers new and better life for all.

MFM Daily Devotional 17 March 2019 – Christian Discipline (III)

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 17 March 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Christian Discipline (III)

TOPIC: Christian Discipline (III) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 17 March 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 30-31; Mark 15:1-25

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 2:1-10

MEMORY VERSE: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:15

The MESSAGE:

Failure to separate oneself from bad company and not studying the word of God are opposed to Christian discipline.

It is easy in life to acquire friends who may eventually lure you into a bad company if you fail to imbibe the Christian discipline as taught in the Bible. An adage says, “Bad company corrupts good manner”. Also, the Bible warns us to watch and take heed lest we fall. Being disciplined as a Christian would make us look at our background, our present position and what we could gain living a righteous life.

Nathaniel was born into a Christian family. After his tertiary education, he could not get a good job. He kept company with friends with whom he used to sneak out every time without the knowledge of his parents, who always advised him against friends who were not disciplined. They used to tell him to always pray and let God guide his steps. Some of his friends were into all manner of fraud like Yahoo business, gambling and betting. He did not separate himself from the bad friends. One fateful morning, his friends came to pick him at home to go and play somewhere, a Yahoo playing centre. Nathaniel kept watching as his friends got engaged in both Yahoo and the game of gambling at the casino. They were yelling, screaming and throwing banters at each other. Suddenly, law enforcement officers, including soldiers, came knocking at the door of the games centre. Almost all his friends who had been conversant with the place escaped arrest while Nathaniel and two others (not too clever friends) were arrested, handcuffed and taken to the police cells. It was during the news on the television that his parents saw him alongside his two other friends. The damage had been done. His entire household was thrown into sadness and confusion. He was eventually jailed three months as a first offender. He failed to imbibe Christian discipline from his parents.

A disciplined Christian would always study the word of God regularly. The story of one sister who refused to go on a journey with her fellow friends to someone’s social party in the outskirt of their town illustrates this. It was the habit of Sister Rhoda to always study and ruminate on the word of God for at least one hour a day. At weekends, she always spends more than this time. It was one of her friends who gave birth to a set of twins in another town that the other friends decided to go and visit and it was on a Saturday. Getting to Sister Rhoda’s house to pick her up, they met her in her usual way of reading and ruminating over the word of God. Some of them wanted to wait for her to finish while majority of them interjected, that they would want to go quickly and return on time before night fall. At the end, all of them decided to go together and taunted Sister Rhoda to pray for them, that they too would give birth to twins. They did not ask her to pray for their safe journey. On their way, their vehicle, through the carelessness of their driver, had an accident with many of the sisters seriously wounded and others had fractured legs and arms. They were all rushed to the hospital. Imagine what would have happened if they had all been patient and joined Sister Rhoda in studying the word of God for a brief moment. God would have made them miss the vehicle and the careless driver. They would have boarded another vehicle. Studying the word of God, which Christian discipline has planted in the soul of Sister Rhoda, made her escape the vehicle mishap.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE WORD OF GOD WILL GUIDE YOUR FOOTSTEPS IN LIFE.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Your life will not end in disaster.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Father Lord, disgrace all unfriendly friends in my life, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Every effort to take away what is mine shall fall and scatter, in the name of Jesus.
  3. I shall not die before my time, I scatter any arrow of premature death, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. By the grace of God, I shall not end my destiny in regret, in the name of Jesus.
  5. O Lord, reveal every waster around my life, family and ministry and let them run mad, in the name of Jesus.
  6. I break loose from every limitation and bondage, in the name of Jesus.
  7. I walk in boldness and courage life Caleb, I will not live and languish in fear, in the name of Jesus.

Open Heaven 17 March 2019 – An Interdependent Generation

Open Heaven 17 March 2019 Sunday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – An Interdependent Generation

Topic: An Interdependent Generation (Open Heaven 17 March 2019)

Memorise: “But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”- 1 Corinthians 12:11

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:1-12 (KJV)

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.

2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.

3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

Bible in One Year: 1 Corinthians 12-14, Isaiah 65:17-66:6

Open Heaven 17 March 2019 Sunday MESSAGE:

One truth all children of God must realize is that we were created to be dependent on one another as members of the body of Christ. In other words, we are an interdependent generation. The failure to recognize this has caused some children of God to live as lone-rangers, and because the environment of accountability is missing from their lives, they ignorantly expose themselves to the devil’s attacks. The Christian faith is founded on fellowship among like-minded people. Painting a picture of what this looks like. Acts 2:46 says:

“And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,”

The fellowship that existed in the early Church affords the disciples the opportunity to share not only their physical possessions but also the gifts of the Holy Spirit in them. None of them could claim monopoly of all the gifts. Attesting to this, Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 12:28

“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

The fundamental truth is that we need each other to finish well in the Christian race. Therefore, no one should claim superiority over another. An apostle in not more important than a teacher. Moreover, the Holy Spirit indicates that these ministry offices are gifts meant for the perfecting of the saints. Speaking in Ephesians 4:11-12, He says:

“11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”

Knowing therefore that we are interdependent, we must relate with one another as indispensable allies in the journey of faith. There should be no schism in the Body of Christ; rather, each member of the Body should take the responsibility of caring for other members as top priority. A lack of this understanding can make a prophet, for example, to think that he or she is superior to an evangelist or other ministry gifts in the Body of Christ, and lord himself or herself over them. We also see cases where some, such as teachers in the Body of Christ, suffer an inferiority complex, leading to rebellion against the government of the Church to their own spiritual peril. Don’t feel offended or sidelined if you are posted to a ministry that is not visible, such as prayer. Several people with the gift of prayer have lost everything in the course of struggling to be out there. May the Lord grant you understanding of your calling in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 17 March 2019 Sunday Prayer Point:

Father, please reveal my calling to me today and help me to be content with it. Also grant me grace to use my spiritual gifts for the perfecting of Your saints in Jesus’ Name.

1.While passing thro’ this world of sin,
and others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Chorus:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you.
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true;
Let others see Jesus in you.

2. Your life’s a book before their eyes,
They’re reading it thro’ and thro’
Say, does it point them to the skis,
Do others see Jesus in you?

3. Then live for Christ both day and night,
Be faithful, be brave and true,
and lead the lost to life and Christ.
Let others see Jesus in you.

12 Traits of a Humble Leader — Dan Reiland

Humble leadership can be difficult to define. It’s subjective, and then there’s that pesky old saying that goes something like, “if you think you’re humble, you’re not.” Well, that might be true, but it’s not very helpful if humility is something we should embrace. I mean, then how do you know?

4 Ways to Support Your Pastor’s Spouse — Facts & Trends

March is Pastor’s Spouse Appreciation Month. This provides churches with an opportunity to show how thankful they are to a person who may sacrifice more for the well-being of the church than any other. LifeWay Research spoke with 720 pastors’ spouses about their experiences and found their lives are complicated, filled with particularly blessings and stresses. In recognizing some of the more significant challenges facing pastors’ spouses, churches can help them feel more at home in their congregation and their calling with their spouse.

10 Reasons Some Pastors are MeanChuck Lawless

‘Prince of ISIS’ turns to Christ after a dream

The man, whose identity has been disguised for his safety, is being called Mohammad and used to be a spiritual leader within ISIS.

He shared his story on Dr Michael Youssef’s ‘Leading The Way’ programme.

The video testimony from the ministry reported that one of their follow-up coordinators named Peter received a call several years ago from Mohammad who desperately wanted to meet with him.

Despite the danger of meeting with Mohammad, believing it was God’s will, he did.

In a re-enacted testimony, Mohammad explained what led to him reaching out to Peter: “One day, somebody asked me why I am a Muslim.

“I wanted to find proof and evidence that Allah exists and Islam is right…I found nothing.”

He met Peter with the intention of killing him but during their first encounter, Peter shared the message of Jesus’ salvation with him.

. reported that Leading The Way’s senior director of ministry outreach Maged Atalla explained: “The second time they met, Mohammad told Peter he had a dream and saw an envelope dripping blood with great fragrance.”

Explaining the dream, Peter said: “Jesus is sending you a message and you need to give your life to Him.”

Mohammad accepted Jesus as his Lord and saviour.

“I saw a love that didn’t exist in Islam,” he said.

“The true book, in my opinion, is the Bible.

“I found the truth in Jesus Christ. And because I have surrendered my life to…

What is the unpardonable sin?

A church member once wrote to me that she “ran across this Scripture last night and it troubled me so much I could barely sleep.”

The passage is Matthew 12:31-32, dealing with “blasphemy against the Spirit.”

The reader continues:

“Am I to interpret this to mean that if you have blasphemed God you can never be forgiven? I have not always been a Christian and have had times in my life when I did not walk with God and doubted his power and authority. I have also doubted God’s intercession in certain events, like miraculous healings. Does this mean that I have blasphemed the Spirit and thereby am not saved?”

She asks very real, personal, and important questions.

So, what is the unpardonable sin?

Let’s discuss this difficult subject and learn what difference the answer makes to our lives today.

What is this sin?

We’ll begin by understanding Jesus’ words on our subject.

Our Lord has just healed a demon-possessed man; the crowds think he might be the Messiah, but the Pharisees say that he drives out demons by the devil himself. So Jesus responds, “Blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven” (v. 31). He repeats his warning: “Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come” (v. 32).

Peter could deny Jesus, Thomas could doubt him, and Paul could persecute his followers, yet they could be forgiven. But “blasphemy against the Spirit” cannot be forgiven, now or at any point in the future. This is the “unpardonable sin.”

So, what is this sin? Let’s set out what we know.

We know that Christians cannot commit this sin.

1 John 1:9 is clear: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” “All” means all. No sin is unpardonable for a Christian.

We know that this sin…

North Korean Christians warn food shortage is stunting growth of children

The secretive state determines what food rations its citizens will receive.

A source wishing to remain anonymous told Christian charity Open Doors: “Not too long ago I met a North Korean refugee family in China.

“Their children were the ages of my children at the time – nine and six – or so it seemed. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

“They were 14 and nine. But their growth was stunted because they had been malnourished their entire lives.”

Another source inside North Korea told the charity: “Recently, North Korean citizens were asked to donate money towards several construction projects.

“In the meantime, often we don’t get any food rations, even though we’re at the end of the winter, which always means that there are a lot of food shortages. The situation of the powerless North Korean citizens is getting worse.”

Open Doors claim the harvest goes directly to the government and what remains is “too little for most people to survive”.

The North Korean government recently announced that daily rations would have to be cut from 550g to 300g.

A kilo of rice costs more than twice the average monthly salary of a North Korean.

At a cost of £59 per family per month, Open Doors secret workers smuggle in enough food to keep 60,000 secret Christians alive in North Korea. They also smuggle in much-needed medicines, along with illegal Bibles and Christian literature.

The country has…

Bishop confirms woman 92 years after her baptism

The Bishop of Burnley, Rt Rev Philip North, confirmed Dorothy Hopwood from Helmshore in Lancashire – who was then able to take Holy Communion for the first time immediately after.

Hopwood has lived in Helmshore and attended her current church St Thomas’ for her whole life.

She missed out on Confirmation as a youngster because her mother, who was Methodist, attended a different church.

Bishop Philip said: “Jesus Christ is for everyone and it is never too late to say yes to his love. Very often we confirm children as they make promises of faith.

“It has been very beautiful therefore to confirm Dorothy at the age of 92. It is a sign to everyone that Jesus is offering them fullness of life, and it is never too late to say yes to that offer.”

Hopwood’s parish priest, Fr David Stephenson described her as “always a source of fun and always a smiling face”.

Fr Stephenson added: “Dorothy has continued to keep her faith at the centre of her life, although her high regard for the Church and for the Eucharist has meant that she has felt unable to receive Holy Communion, until now of course.

“She is a resident at Raven Croft, a community of mostly elderly folk who live in bungalows and share facilities in their ‘Community Room’. I go in once a month to celebrate the Eucharist for…
