God of Order – Billy Graham Devotional 13 March 2019

Topic: God of Order [Billy Graham Devotional 13 March 2019]

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust . . . — Psalm 18:2

The trouble with our modern thinking is that we have a conception that God is a haphazard God with no set rules of life and salvation. Ask the astronomer if God is a haphazard God. He will tell you that every star moves with precision in its celestial path. Ask the scientist if God is a haphazard God. He will tell you that His formulas and equations are fixed, and that to ignore the laws of science would be a fool’s folly. If the laws in the material realm are so fixed and exact, is it reasonable that God could afford to be haphazard in the spiritual realm, where eternal destinies of souls are at stake? Just as God has equations and rules in the material realm, God has equations and rules in the spiritual.

Prayer for the day: Thank You, God, for Your absolute divine order. Amid confusion, it brings me hope and perfect peace.

Life Is Your Portion in Christ – TREM Devotional 13 March 2019

Topic: Life Is Your Portion in Christ [TREM Devotional 13 March 2019]

“Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.” – Genesis 3:20 NIV

In 1 Timothy 2:14, we are told that Adam was not deceived. Eve was the one deceived and God came on the scene and began to proclaim judgment. He said to the serpent you are going to begin to crawl and the serpent began to crawl. God proclaimed judgment on the woman saying in sorrow you are going to bear children and your desire shall be to your husband. And to the man, God said, you will sweat and toil before you will eat.

This was not an interesting picture to behold but that of disaster and hopelessness for Adam and Eve. We thought faith began with Abraham and we call him the father of faith. But actually faith didn’t begin with him, it started with Adam. Adam could have said I am finished or I am ruined. Nothing would ever work because God has just proclaimed a curse. But Adam looked at his wife in spite of the curse that was proclaimed, and named her Eve. This means you are living; you are not dead. Eve means life! Adam said ‘Eve, I know that a curse has been proclaimed but I declare that you are Life?

Put on your imagination! God Almighty has just spoken! Adam could have said, ‘Period! That settles it!’ But Adam knew his authority. Adam understood what God had just said but refused to say the wrong thing. That picture before him was a picture of death but he looked at his wife and said ‘you are not just alive, you are the mother of all living!’ Hallelujah! Watch what God did unto Adam immediately he said that. Genesis 3:21 says: “Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”(KJV) When you read further, you will discover that God immediately began to organize protection for them and said no more death. You will live! You will live because life is your portion. In Christ, you have passed from death into life.

Vital Keys to Leadership – Open Heavens for Teens 13 March 2019

Topic Vital Keys to Leadership [Open Heavens for Teens 13 March 2019]

Memorise: “Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;” – 1 Timothy 3:3

Read: Joshua 1:5-9

5.There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

6.Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.

7.Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8.This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

9.Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Bible In One Year: Deuteronomy 20-22, Mark 14:26-50

MESSAGE:

The best example of a true leader remains our Lord Jesus Christ. Now, let us consider some of the vital keys He had; humility, He showed humility several times and at a point, He stooped to wash the feet of His disciples (John 13:5). Jesus was not judgmental, He was never quick to pass judgement on His disciples or followers, this can be seen when a woman caught in adultery was brought to Him (John 8:4-10). Another key Jesus had is prayer, he prayed for all His disciples constantly; He interceded on their behalf (John 17:1-26). Jesus shielded His disciples from harm especially before the Pharisees, yet He did everything in purity. He was without sin.

If you want to be a leader, you need to possess these vital keys. Are you humble? Can you lead by example? Jesus and His disciples worked together, He didn’t act like the boss who would ask them to do things He wouldn’t do. He led by example. The truth is people couldn’t tell the difference between Him and His disciples because they did everything in common. Until you become like Jesus, you will not have these vital keys and if you don’t, you cannot lead well.

Prayer Point:

Jesus, please help me to be like you.

Hymn 11:

  1. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus,
    Ye soldiers of the Cross!
    Lift high His royal banner,
    It must not suffer loss.
    From victory unto victory
    His army shall He lead,
    Till every foe is vanquished,
    And Christ is Lord indeed.
  2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
    The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep he suffers,
    Away with shame and fear.
    Where’re yeah meet with evil,
    Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.
  3. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
    Put on the gospel armour,
    And watching unto prayer;
    Where duty calls, or danger,
    Be never wanting there.
  4. Stand up! Stand up for Jesus!
    The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
    The next the victor’s song.
    To him that overcometh
    A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
    Shall reign eternally.

MFM Daily Devotional 13 March 2019 – Fulfilling God’s Condition for Blessing (II)

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 13 March 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Fulfilling God’s Condition for Blessing (II)

TOPIC: Fulfilling God’s Condition for Blessing (II) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 13 March 2019)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Deuteronomy 19-21; Mark 13:21-37

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 28:1-9

MEMORY VERSE: “And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:” – Genesis 14:19

The MESSAGE:

Jesus made the Jewish religious people to understand that nothing about the sort of life they lived portrayed them as true children of Abraham. He told them that they were only fooling themselves. Abraham walked before the Lord with all diligence. He was a man of a qualitative character, a man of faith, a man of brokenness. Since the blessings of Abraham are meant for him and his true children, Jesus told them that there was nothing from Abraham for them. He reminded them that the children’s meat was not meant to be given to dogs.

The true children of Abraham are as many as are saved by the blood of Jesus and only such can inherit the blessings of Abraham. Children of Abraham are genuine Christians who are sure of Heaven at any time. Are you?

Abraham’s blessing would be yours if you are doing the following things:

First, if you surrender and obey. The beginning of Abraham’s obedience brought God’s promises to fulfilment in his life as recorded in our Memory Verse. The Bible says “… So Abraham departed as the Lord has spoken unto him.” If you will not fear, if you trust God, if you do not give up, if you do not seek human permission, if you can hear Him! Child of God, do you hear your Father? (John 10:3-4). There is nothing bad when He speaks through someone to you, but there is everything bad if you never hear Him speak to you at all, not even over critical matters. You need to be faith-lifted. You need to be selfless and loving. You need to be kind and hospitable. You need to let Him comfort you. You need to walk before Him in perfection. You need to keep His covenant. Have you made a covenant with God? Then keep it. You need to forgive. Forgiveness goes a long way in bringing your blessing to you. We are heirs with Christ because God forgave us, and there is no blessing that is greater than this. We should also not find it so difficult to forgive others. If you will give, start giving because givers never lack. God gave His very best. Jesus is His all from the very beginning and He is the wholeness of God, yet He gave Him up. That’s what love is all about. That’s what loving God should be for us. Giving all we have and are entirely to Him. If you seek Him, don’t ever stop seeking Him. Don’t ever get too familiar with Him. You also need to serve God and others and sacrifice. Doing all of these and more would automatically usher you into great blessings.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THE POWER TO FULFIL GOD’S CONDITIONS FOR BLESSING IS AVAILABLE AT THE THRONE OF GRACE.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Arrow of darkness will not prosper in your life.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. My Father, make me Your obedient and unconditional follower, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Father, make me a true child of Abraham in order to be blessed, in the name of Jesus.
  3. The grace Abraham had, fall upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. Father, increase my love for You, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Father, give me a heart like Yours, in the name of Jesus.
  6. Holy Spirit, produce Your fruit in my life, in the name of Jesus.
  7. I will enjoy the blessings of Abraham as I serve the Lord, in the name of Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 13 March 2019 – Rebellion Leads To Captivity

Topic: Rebellion Leads To Captivity [DCLM Daily Manna 13 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Isaiah 8:1-8 (KJV)

Key Verse: “For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria” (Isaiah 8:4).

MESSAGE:

A male lecturer in one of the higher institutions in West Africa was alleged to have made immoral overtures to one of his female students in exchange for a change of her grades. The report went viral on social media which made the management of the institution set up a probe panel on the allegation. After a thorough investigation in which both parties were invited, the lecturer was summarily dismissed and brought to shame, having been found culpable of the allegation.

In our text, God spoke to Prophet Isaiah concerning the captivity that would soon befall Israel and its confederates – Syria and Samaria. He went in unto a prophetess who bore a son whom the Lord requested that his name be called Mahershalalhashbaz. The Lord spoke to Isaiah that before the child would grow up and have the knowledge of converse, the land would be invaded and their riches and glory taken away. Isaiah was further told by the Lord that the confederates would be overrun and taken into captivity because of their rebellion and refusal to stay within God’s provisions for them in Shiloah and for confederacy against Judah.

The word of God stands firm against rebellion and in fact, categories it alongside the sin of witchcraft. When a nation, family or an individual rebels against God’s word, the end is usually devastating. The sinner may possess riches and seem to be having a nice time now, but as soon as the cup of judgment is full, he ends up in captivity both in time and eternity.

In order to escape the looming calamity, the sinner must repent from all sins and turn to Christ, the Saviour of the world. The believer must shun all forms of concord or agreement with the world and evil doers. Only then can we escape the judgment to come.

Thought For The Day: Though hand join in hand, the sinner shall not go unpunished.

Seeds of Destiny 13 March 2019 Devotional – Why Is Prayer Necessary?

Topic: Why Is Prayer Necessary? [Seeds of Destiny 13 March 2019 Devotional]

Prayer is a major secret of relevance in life and destiny. It has been confirmed that one thing that makes men relevant in life is their devotional and prayer life. Great men in the spirit are addicted to God by living the lifestyle of prayer.

SCRIPTURE: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Psalm 91:1-2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Whatever is available with God is accessible at the altar of prayer.

Prayer is a major secret of relevance in life and destiny. It has been confirmed that one thing that makes men relevant in life is their devotional and prayer life. Great men in the spirit are addicted to God by living the lifestyle of prayer. It is not possible to be great spiritually or to fulfil destiny without being prayerful. So, the negligence of prayer equals the acceptance of irrelevance in life.

So, why is prayer necessary?

i. The altar of prayer is the altar of preservation

You are not permitted to be wasted like chicken if you know what it means to pray (Psalm 91:1-2). The altar of prayer is the altar of preservation. You are not a waste-able or destructible material if you are person of prayer.

ii. The altar of prayer is the altar of Divine Intervention

We receive Divine intervention at the place of prayer (Hebrews 4:16). The altar of prayer is the altar for the trigger or provocation of Divine intervention.

iii. The altar of prayer is the altar of connection to Divine resources

Whatever is available with God is accessible at the altar of prayer. Whatever God has to offer is made available at the place of prayer – whether it is supernatural supply, favour or anointing, it is available at the place of prayer.

Beloved, I decree fresh fire on your altar of prayer to disconnect you from everything that has tied down your life, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Whatever is available with God is accessible at the altar of prayer.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Make demands on God for His preservative power at the place of prayer.
  2. Ask God to intervene in any situation that may be confronting your life.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask that You intervene in every situation as I pray, in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heaven 13 March 2019 – Watch That Tongue

Open Heaven 13 March 2019 Wednesday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Watch That Tongue

Topic: Watch That Tongue (Open Heaven 13 March 2019)

Memorise: “And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”- James 3:6

Read: 2 Samuel 6:20-23 (KJV)

20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD.

22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

Bible in One Year: 1 Corinthians 1-3, Isaiah 62

Open Heaven 13 March 2019 Wednesday MESSAGE:

As precious and indispensable as the tongue is, it can be dangerous when used improperly. According to today’s memory verse, the misuse of the tongue is actually injurious to the entire human body. We see this truth play out in today’s Bible text. Michal, daughter of Saul, the first king of Israel, misused her tongue, and her body physically suffered the grave consequence that followed. Her husband, King David, had just had a very nice time praising and worshiping the Lord with singing and dancing, also offering sumptuous sacrifices of oxen and fatlings. Micah, who ordinarily should have joined her husband, looked through a window and saw him leaping and dancing before the Lord. This was a shameful sight to her, and she despised him for it in her heart. When David returned home later that day, out of the abundance of heart, she ridiculed him with her words in 2 Samuel 6:20, saying:

“…How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!”

David’s response to these words shows that he knew what he was doing as a genuine and addicted worshipper of God. Even though he did not in any way curse or insult Michal, her utterance brought a curse on her, which she took to the grave. 2 Samuel 6:23 says:

“Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

Working in the same spirit as Michal, some people came to me some years ago to dissuade me from praising my God with Ewi (special poetic renditions in my native Yoruba language), which I had vowed to be doing during our annual conventions. The reasoning behind their suggestion was very funny to me. They said I was too big to be chanting Ewi and that I should leave such things to the youths! I laughed and felt sorry for them because I knew they did not know the importance of praise. I also discovered that the reason why some pastors do not participate in praise and worship is that they want to allow the “little ones” do the praise, and later, as big men of God, they would mount the pulpit to dish out the word. What a great mistake this is! I admonish you to stop abusing your tongue because the Bible describes it as a fire that can burn destructively if unguarded (James 3:6). From today, use your tongue only for the beneficial purpose of praising God and lifting up those within your sphere of influence (James 3:8-10).

Open Heaven 13 March 2019 Wednesday Prayer Point:

Father, please help me to refrain from abusing the tongue You gave me, and grant me grace to use my tongue to praise, bless and glorify Your Name.

and others your life shall view,
Be clean and pure without, within;
Let others see Jesus in you.

Chorus:
Let others see Jesus in you,
Let others see Jesus in you.
Keep telling the story, be faithful and true;
Let others see Jesus in you.

3. Your life’s a book before their eyes,
They’re reading it thro’ and thro’
Say, does it point them to the skis,
Do others see Jesus in you?

Be faithful, be brave and true,
and lead the lost to life and Christ.

Gay Presidential Candidate Asks If Mike Pence ‘Stopped Believing in Scripture When He Started Believing in Donald Trump’

Gay Presidential Candidate Asks If Mike Pence ‘Stopped Believing in Scripture When He Started Believing in Donald Trump’

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, who is openly gay, says he tries to live his life “consistent with Christian teachings.”

“First of all, I try to live a life that is consistent with Christian teachings. I know that it is my responsibility not to ever do anything that would in public life, not be equally beneficial or make as much sense to people of another faith or people of no faith.

“But in my life, I believe in that Christian ethic, the idea that was drilled into me in Catholic school even though I’m not Catholic, I’m Episcopalian,” he said during a Q&A at The South by Southwest Conference & Festivals over the weekend.

Buttigieg was answering a question about the role that faith in his life.

“That idea of the invitation of Christ, this sense that when God himself comes to earth, he is rejected in many ways largely because he tells the truth. He concerns himself with what’s going on with those who are marginalized. He understands his role on earth not to be glorified but to serve,” Buttigieg said.

“Foot-washing is one of the most powerful images in the New Testament … Feet are gross and even more so then, right. Not what you would expect the divine to be doing when He comes down to earth. And then the Old Testament full of the complexity of trying to be in contact…

‘We Were Spared’ Pastor Says after All Survive Dangerous Church Bus Crash

‘We Were Spared’ Pastor Says after All Survive Dangerous Church Bus Crash

A bus carrying 12 passengers, many of them teenagers, overturned on a highway in Tennessee over the weekend after the vehicle lost control in the heavy wind and rain. Everyone survived.

The driver, Pastor Joshua Clark from Parrans Chapel Baptist in Bolivar, Tennessee thanked God that nothing worse happened.

“We were spared. Could’ve been a lot worse. Could’ve been a lot worse,” Clark said to WSMV New 4. “We’re all here. We’re all safe, so praise the Lord.”

Eight juveniles were taken to the hospital after the crash, but there were no serious injuries other than one student who needed eight staples to treat a cut on his head.

“I was responsible for 11 other people on that bus and I felt that weight of responsibility,” Clark said.

The group was returning from an event in Chattanooga on Saturday, driving a bus borrowed from their sister church, Dixie Hills Baptist Church.

“Right as we were trying to slow down, a big gust of wind [hit] and started pushing us. Rain, lots of rain came. It caused us to hydroplane as we tried to correct from the wind and that’s when all the sliding started,” said Clark, describing the event.

“We crawled out of the top hatch of the top of the bus,” he said after the bus had rolled onto a median, and Clark had to force his way out of the bus, coming close to being trapped by…

the clerical tailors who no longer make ‘one size fits all’

On 12th March 1994, women were ordained as priests in the Church of England for the first time – meaning not only huge change for parishes up and down the country but also an awful lot of work for the tailors in the heart of Westminster at Watts & Co – work which they say they are still catching up with today.

As well as classic cassocks, traditional vestments and flowing robes for choirs, the needlemakers create wacky clerical shirts, floral garments with dog collars fitted-in and floor-length bespoke silk dresses.

Listen to this special report from journalist Cara Bentley on how the team at Watts & Co have had to redesign the ‘one size fits all’ patterns they inherited to make sure the company provide what their clerical customers are searching for:
