MFM Daily Devotional 6 March 2019 – My Cape of Financial Good Hope

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 6 March 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – My Cape of Financial Good Hope

TOPIC: My Cape of Financial Good Hope (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 6 March 2019)

Bible In One Year: Numbers 35-36; Mark 10:1-31

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Nahum 1:3-7

MEMORY VERSE: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” – 2 Peter 1:3

The MESSAGE:

Somewhere at the Southern tip of Africa, a massive land projects into the area. It was once a cause of anxiety to sailors who tried to sail there with their ships. This was because very adverse weather conditions and storms prevailed there. Therefore, that place was called Cape of Storms. A Portuguese Captain resolved to find a safe route through those treacherous storms so that his people in Europe could reach the East Indies safely to trade with the people there. This would save money and time and it was shorter than the other route, through the Mediterranean Sea. The Captain succeeded and renamed the area the Cape of Good Hope.

We all have financial storms one time or another in our journey through life such as lack of money to eat, lack of money for the children’s education, lack of money to build one’s house, lack of money to own a car, lack of money to invest in business or to save and so on.

The storms should not be a thing of worry to genuine Christians because our God had created a safe passage through the storms of life for His children. The Bible says, “The Lord has His way in the whirlwind and in storms” (Nahum 1:3). This means He always has a safe passage in every storm of life.

Hugh Stowell, a song writer, says in one of his songs, “From every stormy wind that blows, from every swelling tide of woes, there is a calm, a sure retreat, t’is found beneath the mercy seat”. This means God is our shelter in the storms of life.

God willingly and happily does many good things for His children. Many of them we do not know, like how we fall asleep and wake up. God does these things to manifest His love for us. The Bible says “He has given us all things pertaining to life and godliness”. (2 Peter 1:3). If we look closely at this text, we will see that God is “not giving” (present tense), “will give” (future tense) but “has given” (past tense). This can only mean that all we need to live a prosperous and righteous life has already been given to us through Jesus Christ. God’s gifts and promises to His children are always conditional.

So, what must we do in order to have a safe passage through financial storms and be blessed with prosperous life?

  1. Repent from your sins and ask for forgiveness.
  2. Live a transparent life.
  3. Give alms and help poor brethren.
  4. Pray and read your Bible daily.
  5. Pay your tithes and offerings and first fruit regularly.

God bless you as you do these things, in Jesus’ name.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
THERE IS NO LACK FOR THOSE WHO OBEY THE FINANCIAL LAWS OF GOD.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You will never lack any good thing in your life.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Financial storms in my life, cease, in the name of Jesus.
  2. My tithes, usher me into prosperity, in the name of Jesus.
  3. My offerings, refuse the spirit of poverty, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. Financial storms, sweep away the enemies of my prosperity, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Yoke of lack, break, in the name of Jesus.
  6. I oppress poverty with my tithes and offerings, in the name of Jesus.
  7. My tithes and offerings, bring me bountiful harvest, in the name of Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 6 March 2019 – Trusting God for Safety

Topic: Trusting God for Safety [DCLM Daily Manna 6 March 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Psalm 16:1-11 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust(Psalm 16:1).

MESSAGE:

The psalmist here expresses his confidence in God for protection and his gratitude for His goodness towards him; his delight in the people of God and his abhorrence of idol worship. He thanks God for all His provisions and counsels. As he sets the Lord before him, he believes he would not be moved and he hopes that even in death, he would rest in hope and travel “the path of life” that would lead him to God’s joyful presence. This psalm was twice quoted as referring to Christ in the New Testament.

Saints of God over the generations, have had implicit confidence in God’s trustworthiness in preserving them from evil even when they walked “through the valley of the shadow of death”. The reason is that God never changes. Walking in this assurance keeps the Christian pilgrim free from all unnecessary fears and anxiety which bedevil those who have not found rest in Christ.

Today, people are troubled about many things – weather, economy, family matters, health issue and other concern. For those who are not abiding under “the shadow of the Almighty”, there is danger because the evil one is walking about as a roaring lion seeking whom to destroy. But thankfully, through Christ, the power of God has been made available to as many as will believe and trust Him. The onus lies on every individual therefore to “seek [God now], while he may be found, [and to call] upon him while he is near”. There is a rest for the people of God both now and in eternity. Everyone who desires this rest can come to Him because He is good to all.

Thought For The Day: God’s strong hands are sufficient to keep His children in safety.

Seeds of Destiny 6 March 2019 Devotional – People of Prayer and the Word

Topic: People of Prayer and the Word [Seeds of Destiny 6 March 2019 Devotional]

To be dedicated to God is to give yourself to the practice of prayer and the ministry of the Word of God.

SCRIPTURE: But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. Acts 6:4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be dedicated to God is to give yourself to the practice of prayer and the ministry of the Word of God.

Throughout the Scriptures, it is very clear that dedicated people were people of prayer and the Word of God. Dedicated people in Scripture were men and women who were addicted to prayer and the study of the Word of God. In other words, the practice of prayer and the study of the Word of God are proofs of dedication and devotion to God.

Now, let me give you examples of people who proved their dedication to God by the practice of prayer and the study and ministry of the Word of God:

i. The Apostles

The Apostles made up their minds to give themselves solely to prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4). There were things that wanted to divert their attention from prayer and the Word of God but they took a firm decision to devote themselves to prayer and the ministry of God’s Word. Beloved, there is no better way to be dedicated to God if prayer and God’s Word are omitted from your devotional life. To be dedicated to God is to give yourself to the practice of prayer and the ministry of the Word of God.

ii. Abraham

Abraham also operated in the ministry of prayer and the Word as a mark of his dedication to God. He always got up in the morning to stand before God at the place of prayer (Genesis 19:27). He negotiated with God at the place of prayer for the preservation of Sodom and Gomorrah from destruction (Genesis 18:23-25). Abraham was also a man of the Word (Genesis 18:17-19).

Beloved, a stand with God at the place of prayer and the Word is a confirmation of brutal dedication to God.

My counsel is, make up your mind to be dedicated to God by praying and studying God’s Word continually.

Remember this: To be dedicated to God is to give yourself to the practice of prayer and the ministry of the Word of God.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Go through today’s message once again.

Our Daily Bread 6 March 2019 Devotional – Return on Investment

Topic: Return on Investment [Our Daily Bread 6 March 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Deuteronomy 1–2; Mark 10:1–31

We have left everything to follow you! – Mark 10:28

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Mark 10:17-31

In 1995 US stock market investors received record-high returns—on average, a whopping 37.6 percent return on their dollars. Then in 2008 investors lost almost exactly as much: a negative 37.0 percent. The years between had varying returns, causing those with money in the market to wonder—sometimes with fear—what would become of their investment.

Jesus assured His followers they would have an incredible return on investing their lives in Him. They “left everything to follow [Him]”—leaving their homes, jobs, status, and families to put their lives on deposit (v. 28). But they grew concerned that their investment might not pay off after watching a wealthy man struggle with the grip worldly goods had on him. Jesus replied, however, that anyone willing to sacrifice for Him would “receive a hundred times as much in this present age . . . and in the age to come eternal life” (v. 30). That’s a far better outcome than any stock market could ever match.

We don’t have to be concerned about the “interest rate” on our spiritual investment—with God, it’s an unmatched certainty. With money, our aim is to maximize the financial gain from our investment. With God, what we get back isn’t measured in dollars and cents, but in the joy that comes from knowing Him now and forever—and sharing that joy with others!

Today’s Reflection
What can you “invest” in God today—including your time, talents, or treasure? How have you experienced joy in your relationship with Jesus?

Open Heavens for Teens 6 March 2019 – The Log in Your Eye

Topic: The Log in Your Eye [Open Heavens for Teens 6 March 2019]

Memorise: “Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam of thine own eye: then thou shalt see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” – Matthew 7:5

Read: Matthew 7:1-5

1.Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2.For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3.And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4.Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5.Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Bible In One Year: Deuteronomy 1-2, Mark 11:1-19

MESSAGE:

It is hypocrisy to ask someone to do something that you yourself are not doing. Before you correct someone, check that you are not also doing the same thing that you are asking the person to stop. Many at times, people are quick to correct others or even report them to a higher authority, whereas they are themselves guilty of what they are making a fuss about. This kind of attitude is very much to your detriment because when you correct or report someone for doing something bad, you are helping them to change and become better, but if you neglect your own shortcomings, then you will only be getting worse. Also, because you have been the one reporting people, you will start looking for ways to hide your wrong as it will be shameful to also be caught doing the same thing. The more you hide it, the more it grows and causes more damage, so the best thing to do is just to correct yourself and at least, work on changing first before you go around correcting other people.

“He that covereth his sins shall not prosper”

Action Point: Ask three godly people today what they you should change about yourself and start working on changing those things.

Hymn 2:

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Billy Graham Devotional 6 March 2019 – A Heart of Belief

Topic: A Heart of Belief [Billy Graham Devotional 6 March 2019]

If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. — Romans 10:9

The heart is the blood-pump of the body. It is also used metaphorically when we speak of affections and feelings. Since it is the central organ of the body and one of the most vital, the Bible speaks of it as the wellspring of life. Hence, it is used synonymously with “life.” When the Bible says, “Son, give me thine heart,” it doesn’t mean that we are to cut out our actual hearts and give them to God. It means that we are to give Him our lives, our all. When we come to Christ, we are not only to give intellectual assent with our minds, we are to “believe in our hearts.” We can believe in the historic Jesus, but if we have “saving faith” our belief must involve our whole being. When we believe with all our hearts, the will, the emotions, and the intellect are surrendered to Christ.

Prayer for the day: Lord, I believe and rejoice in the knowledge that You are alive and my Redeemer!

Topic: Victory – A Provision [Andrew Wommack Devotional 6 March 2019]

Matthew 6:13, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.”

Text: Matthew 6:9-13

A temptation can be a difficult situation or a pressure. Contrary to popular belief, God is not the source of our temptation (Jas. 1:13). When we are under pressure, it is important to realize that God is not trying to entrap us. Satan is called the tempter (Mt. 4:3; 1 Th. 3:5). Then why did Jesus instruct us to pray that the Father would not lead us into temptation? This was simply a request for guidance so that we could be delivered from evil.

Jesus himself was tempted by Satan (Mt. 4, Lk. 4). He trusted God fully for provision, protection, and purpose. The Father would no more lead us into temptation than He would withhold our daily bread. But as stated in James 4:2, “Ye have not because ye ask not.” Both “give us our daily bread” and “lead us not into temptation” are simply requests for what has already been provided for us. This part of prayer serves as a reminder to us of God’s promised protection (Ps. 91) and gives us an opportunity to release our faith and appropriate what has already been provided.

“No temptation has seized you but such as is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it” (1 Cor. 10:13 NIV). The victory demonstrated by Jesus is available to us. “But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 15:57). He has given it to you. Believe and receive it.

Hollywood actress says ‘my faith is the foundation of every decision I make’

The 25-year-old Londoner is set to play Princess Jasmine in Guy Ritchie’s live-action remake of Disney’s Aladdin and graced the cover of British Vogue magazine’s latest issue.

In her interview, she said: “My faith is the foundation of every decision I make, and of my marriage.”

The pastors’ daughter has been married to Ipswich Town footballer Jordan Spence since she was 21 after meeting him at her parent’s church.

Scott went on to say about her marriage: “And we’re young people with big aspirations – I want to be a power couple, I want to make all the money and have a big house.

“But sometimes Jordan and I say, ok, if I never acted in a movie again, if he never set foot on a football pitch, would our world fall apart?”

The magazine’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful echoed this sentiment in his editor’s letter: “What she has to say about faith and young love is timely and insightful.

“Of course, I look forward to seeing Naomi dazzle in Aladdin and…Charlie’s Angels.

“But I’m also excited to see how she is going to energise a whole generation of British girls and young women, who will look at her story, her religion, her style and work ethic, and see a different sort of ingénue from the sort that Hollywood used to fall for.”

Group of Women Go on ‘BirthStrike,’ Refuse to Have Kids Because of Climate Change

Group of Women Go on ‘BirthStrike,’ Refuse to Have Kids Because of Climate Change

Just days after U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez questioned the environmental cost of having children on an Instagram Live Q&A, two women in the U.K. appeared on the Victoria Derbyshire show to share why they have gone on a “BirthStrike.”

Blythe Pepino, founder of BirthStrike, told the BBC broadcaster that she would not be having kids. She shared that she is “terrified” to bring a child into the world because of climate change.

Pepino said, “Our planet is in a kind of collapse. The natural world is collapsing around us, and that’s actually happening right now.”

“And I’m so disappointed by the response by authorities to this crisis, and so freaked out by everything I’ve read that I’ve — I’ve basically last year I came to the decision that I couldn’t bring a child into that.” she continued.

According to the video interview, Pepino also decided to ask her friends on Facebook if any of them felt the same way.

She said, “And I was asking around people I know, put it up a little bit on Facebook and realize actually quite a lot of other people are making this decision.”

She continued, “We realized it was really — really important to tell the public that there are people out there are so scared about this that they feel that they can’t actually have a family.”

Christians arrested in Iran on ‘national security charges’

Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) report that two of them, Mr Babak Hosseinzadeh and Mr Behnam Akhlagh, were arrested while attending church on Saturday 23rd February.

A third man, Mr Mehdi Khatibi, was arrested the same day, following a summons from the secret police.

The arrests bring the total number of Christians arrested in Rasht over the past five weeks to six peple.

Back in January, Hossein Kadivar (Elisha) and Khalil Dehghanpour were arrested.

On 10th February, Pastor Matthias Haghnejad was arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guard members who entered the gathering where he was leading a service, detaining him after it had concluded.

Pastor Haghnejad has been arrested and tried on several occasions.

CSW’s Chief Executive Mervyn Thomas said: “The arrests in Rasht are the latest in a heightened campaign of repression that has seen Christians receiving excessive charges and sentences merely for exercising their right to manifest their religion in private and in community with others and in a peaceable manner.

“Many more are being punished for adopting a religion of their choice in accordance with article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Iran is party.

“CSW urges the Iranian authorities to ensure the immediate and unconditional release of all who have been arrested or imprisoned unjustly. These arrests and sentences…
