Text: Isaiah 3:1-12 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him for they shall eat the fruit of their doings. Woe unto the wicked! It shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him” (Isaiah 3:10,11).

MESSAGE:

God, in His wisdom, has separated the time of planting from the time of harvesting. And because of this, many people are unmindful of the long or short term consequences of their action good or evil. This is the reason there is so much evil and wickedness in the world.

As a consequence of the peoples’ sins, God’s judgment was coming and would touch every part of society and all classes of people would suffer. The rulers had failed in their duty to deliver the people. God’s wrath was kindled against them with a firm promise to replace them with children and insolent, immature novices. The rulers had shown little or no concern for the poor and the less privileged. They were selfish, wicked and nonchalant. They never bothered about the people’s welfare and need. When leaders reject God’s ways, society is open to injustice, oppression and cruelty.

God hates the ill-treatment meted out to the poor and the needy in society. He has great interest in the way and manner we relate to one another even in the church today. Those who remain faithful in spite of societal upheavals and the leaders’ mis-governance, the Lord says it would be well with them. They might suffer for righteousness’ sake but the end would be rewarding. As for the wicked, they would surely reap the terrible consequences of their sins.

Consider God’s thought towards you. “O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” When things seem to be going wrong, when the multitudes tilt towards Satan, when the standard of God’s word is not kept, stand in obedience and make His Word the unflagging standard of your life. You will be glad you did.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Heaven is God’s eternal abode for the pilgrim who overcomes.

Bible in a Year: Leviticus 14; Matthew 26:51–75

But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you. – Psalm 39:7

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Psalm 39:1-7

As artillery rounds fell around him with an earth-shaking whoomp, the young soldier prayed fervently, “Lord, if you get me through this, I’ll go to that Bible school Mom wanted me to attend.” God honored his focused prayer. My dad survived World War II, went to Moody Bible Institute, and invested his life in ministry.

Another warrior endured a different kind of crisis that drove him to God, but his problems arose when he avoided combat. As King David’s troops fought the Ammonites, David was back at his palace casting more than just a glance at another man’s wife (see 2 Samuel 11). In Psalm 39, David chronicles the painful process of restoration from the terrible sin that resulted. “The turmoil within me grew worse,” he wrote. “The more I thought about it, the hotter I got” (vv. 2–3 nlt).

David’s broken spirit caused him to reflect: “Show me, Lord, my life’s end and the number of my days; let me know how fleeting my life is” (v. 4). Amid his renewed focus, David didn’t despair. He had nowhere else to turn. “But now, Lord, what do I look for? My hope is in you” (v. 7). David would survive this personal battle and go on to serve God.

What motivates our prayer life doesn’t matter as much as the focus of our prayer. God is our source of hope. He wants us to share our heart with Him.

Today’s Reflection
Father, our hope is in You. Forgive us for seeking answers apart from You. Draw us close to You today.

Read: 1 John 4:6-11
6 We are [children] of God. Whoever is learning to know God [progressively to perceive, recognize, and understand God by observation and experience, and to get an ever-clearer knowledge of Him] listens to us; and he who is not of God does not listen or pay attention to us. By this we know (recognize) the Spirit of Truth and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is (springs) from God; and he who loves [his fellowmen] is begotten (born) of God and is coming [progressively] to know and understand God [to perceive and recognize and get a better and clearer knowledge of Him].

8 He who does not love has not become acquainted with God [does not and never did know Him], for God is love.

9 In this the love of God was made manifest (displayed) where we are concerned: in that God sent His Son, the only begotten or unique [Son], into the world so that we might live through Him.

10 In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God loved us so [very much], we also ought to love one another.

Bible In One Year: Leviticus 15-17, Matthew 27:1-31

MESSAGE:

The world today has confused love for lust. Love is a person. The Bible tells us that God is love. He loved us even before we knew Him, this true loved moved Him to sacrifice His only begotten son so that we can be saved. You cannot love if you don’t have love living in you.

Don’t let anyone deceive you that they love and so want to sleep with you, run, that is lust and it destroys. True love is not expressed through kissing and caressing, it is expressed through sacrificial giving. “For God so loved the world that He GAVE”, not that He took. Anyone that wants to take your purity because they ‘love’ you actually hates you.

You must also be careful who you collect gifts from, nothing goes for nothing. Sometimes, people give you something pretending to love you, whereas what they really want is to take your purity from you. Direct anyone that brings you a valentine gift tomorrow to an orphanage, there are needy people who need true love there.

Key Point:

Anyone who truly loves you will ensure that you are far away from sin, not lure you into sin.

1. Praise and worship
2. Thank God for a new day and for the salvation of your soul
3. let us come against the activities of kidnappers, ritualists and cultists in Jesus’ name
4. Father exposes them and all their collaborators in all their hideout in our nation.
5. Lord set confusion in the camps of ritualists, kidnappers and cultists as it was in the days of King Jehoshaphat, set enmity among kidnappers, cultist and ritualists for their extinct in our nation. (2Chron 20:22-23)
6. Father lay an ambush against kidnappers, ritualists and cultists and let them be no more 2 Chron 20:24)
7. Lord we decree and declare deliverance by fire for every one of us captured by kidnappers, ritualists and cultists in Jesus’ name(Matt 18.18)
8. We decree and declare that our nation shall be totally free from kidnapping, rituals and cultism in Jesus’ name.
9. Father help the police to be more empowered in policing our territories, such that criminal acts will fade away in the land
10. Father give us a responsible government, let there be employment for our youth
