I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. — Galatians 2:20
One day, by a simple act of faith, I decided to take Jesus Christ at His word. I could not come by way of the intellect alone; no one can. That does not mean that we reject reason. God has given us minds and the ability to reason wherever reason is appropriate, but the final and decisive step is taken by faith. I came by faith. Does it work when a person comes, repenting of his sins, to receive Christ by faith? I can only tell you that it worked in my own life. Something did happen to me. I didn’t become perfect, but the direction of my life was changed. I found a new dimension to life. I found a new capacity to love that I had never known before.
Prayer for the day: The day I received You, Lord, it was a childlike act of faith. My whole life was changed!

Ashers Baking Company has decided against pursuing a legal costs order against the Equality Commission in Northern Ireland – the public body which initiated proceedings in 2014.
The McArthur family, which owns the firm, was defended by legal experts at the Christian Institute. The organisation said it spent more than £250,000 on the case.
In October last year, the family successfully appealed at the Supreme Court in London against previous rulings that it had breached discrimination laws.
The case ignited when a gay rights activist was declined an order for a cake decorated with the words “Support gay marriage”. The McArthurs objected on the grounds of their Christian beliefs.
“Due to the generosity of Christian Institute supporters, Ashers are not out of pocket as a result of defending this legal action.”https://t.co/wryaK12wv1
A ruling by Belfast County Court which found the McArthurs had acted with discrimination was later upheld by the Court of Appeal in Belfast – prompting an appeal bid to the Supreme Court.
But five judges at the Supreme Court determined that the objection Ashers had made was at “being required to promote the message on the cake – not to the man.”
During previous stages of the case, Ashers has argued that each side should pay its…
Sadiq Khan said the way some members of the Windrush generation had been treated amounted to a “stain on the nation’s conscience”.
He told Premier: “There is no better example of the advocacy role of churches in our city and country than the fantastic role they’ve played helping the Windrush generation, their children and their descendants.”
The Labour politician spoke as he unveiled £20,000 to help affected families seek legal advice via the Windrush Justice Fund and apply via the Home Office Windrush scheme for citizenship.
The Windrush scandal is a stain on our nation’s conscience, shining a light on an immigration system not fit for purpose. As Mayor, I’m proud that Londoners have already raised £20k for the Justice Fund, which why I’ve doubled it with an additional £20k. https://t.co/Lw4zSqoVjS
A special service at Westminster Abbey in central London last June was held to celebrate the contribution they – and their descendants – have made to British life (pictured below). The Windrush generation was named after a ship which brought migrants from the Caribbean to Britain in 1948.
Mr Khan continued: “I’ve been so impressed by the advocacy and…
Federal Court Rules Christian Student Group Cannot be Removed from University for Biblical View on Marriage
The University of Iowa cannot remove a Christian student group’s registered status after the group prohibited a gay student from a leadership role, a federal court has ruled.
U.S. District Judge Stephanie M. Rose approved a permanent injunction that forces the University of Iowa to reverse its decision and recognize Business Leaders in Christ as a registered student organization.
She said in her opinion that the school applies its human rights policy “unevenly.”
“The Constitution does not tolerate the way defendants chose to enforce the human rights policy,” she said. “Particularly when free speech is involved, the uneven application of any policy risks the most exacting standard of judicial scrutiny, which the defendants have failed to withstand.”
The university had threatened to strip the group of its registered status after the group barred a gay student from taking on a leadership role. The university said that action violated the school’s human rights policy.
Senior counsel Eric Baxter, of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, the group representing the student organization, called the judge’s ruling a “win for basic fairness.”
The group released a statement after the court ruling, saying “universities can’t target religious student groups for being religious.”

Memorise: “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”- 2 Corinthians 3:18
Read: 2 Corinthians 3:6-18 (KJV)
6 Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:
8 How shall not the ministration of the spirit be rather glorious?
9 For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.
10 For even that which was made glorious had no glory in this respect, by reason of the glory that excelleth.
11 For if that which is done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.
12 Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech:
13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
16 Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Bible in One Year: John 3-4, Isaiah 36:4-20
Open Heaven 9 February 2019 Saturday MESSAGE:
The purpose of our redemption is to transform us into the image and likeness of God. The Holy Spirit reveals this to us in Romans 8:29, where He says:
“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
This has been God’s desire from the very beginning (Genesis 1:26-27). Soon after creation, the serpent lured Adam and eve into sin and they fell, thereby rejecting goodliness and embracing worldliness with its devilish undertones. To redeem us to Himself, God sent His Beloved Son to be the Savior of the world (1 John 4:14). Through His sacrifice, God’s salvation is freely made available to all. Those who genuinely receive His salvation become partners of His divine nature and are expected to follow in His footsteps through their lifestyles (2 Peter 1:4, 1 Peter 2:21). In essence, God is calling all mankind to repent from their evil way and put on a new man, who is created after God in holiness and righteousness (Ephesians 4:24).
“16 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not; 17 They have ears, but they hear not; neither is there any breath in their mouths. 18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.” – Psalm 135:16-18
It is clear from these verses that God knows that worshipers take after the God or gods they worship. He therefore ordained that His worshipers should be conformed to the image of His Son, so that they may worship Him in Spirit and in Truth (John 4:24). The essence of Christian fellowship therefore is to be transformed to the image of the Almighty God through Jesus Christ His Son, who is set before humanity as the model of the redeemed life. Understanding the nature of God and obeying His commandments are keys to living this transformed life. As we behold the glory of God in the place of worship and personal fellowship, we are transformed to the likeness of Jesus Christ in faith, obedience and total submission to God’s will. To be Christ-like is not a mere human effort to imitate Jesus; rather, it is the work of the Holy Spirit in a believer submitted to His Lordship, making him or her more like Jesus in faith, sanctification, holiness, evangelism and the work of ministry.
Open Heaven 9 February 2019 Saturday Prayer Point:
Holy Spirit divine, I yield to your work of transformation in my life, help me to conform completely to the image of Jesus Christ in character and glory in Jesus’ Name.

Speaking exclusively to People magazine, the friend, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “Meg is extremely faithful.
“We pray a lot together. We meditate. She has had, and especially has now, a very close relationship with God.”
Meghan, 37, was baptised and confirmed in the Church of England at a private ceremony led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
However, the American actress has remained rather private about her faith.
“A deep sense of gratitude and humility has guided her,” the friend continued. “We can still be modern women and feel all the feels [sic] with feminism and be strong moms and strong wives but understand that [our] relationship [with God] is so critical.”
Another close friend also called rumours that Meghan had insisted for St George’s Chapel to be sprayed with air freshener ahead of her wedding, “outrageous”.
The unnamed long-time friend added: “I can’t think of anything more ridiculous.
“If people knew how spiritual she is and how serious and respectful she takes her relationship with God, she would never ask for something like that.
“The day after the wedding I said, ‘You were so serene’. She has a huge loving fondness for Archbishop Welby. She’s like, ‘I’m there, I’m with Harry, I’m with you guys, and I’m with the leader of my church’.
“She doesn’t think about the narrative: ‘What will people…
Christians Such as Mike Pence Are ‘Bigots’ If They Oppose Homosexuality, Columnist Says
Vice President Mike Pence and other Christians who believe homosexuality is sinful are bigots tantamount to those who opposed civil rights and supported slavery, according to a well-known Washington Post columnist.
The newspaper’s Richard Cohen argues in a new column that the beliefs of Mike Pence and his wife, Karen, about sexuality are no different than the racist beliefs from America’s past.
“I have a question for those Republicans who, along with Democrats, demand the resignation of Virginia Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam for the abhorrent photo that appeared on his page in his medical school yearbook: If bigotry is repugnant, why not demand the resignation of Vice President Mike Pence for his ugly views on homosexuality?” Cohen asked. “And while they’re at it, why not insist that Pence’s wife resign her position at a school that discriminates against gays and lesbians?”
Karen Pence is teaching at a private Christian school that affirms traditional biblical teachings on sexuality, as Christian Headlines previously reported.
To argue that the Pences’ views are based on religious belief is inexcusable, Cohen asserts.
“The Bible was used to justify slavery, and in my own time, racists cited this or that biblical passage to assert that racial segregation was precisely what God intended — the so-called ‘curse…
Reverend Rose Hudson-Wilkin, who is also the Chaplain to the speaker of the House of Commons, said the current situation had given confidence to the underbelly that has always existed.
She said: “Whatever happens at the end of that (Brexit) it’s about how are we going to keep the nation together.
“Over 30 years I have lived in this country. For the first time, last year, I was shouted at in the street and told to go back to Africa.
“Now I don’t come from Africa, so I don’t know which country in Africa they wanted me to go back to.”
Jamaican-born Rev Hudson-Wilkin added: “So I think there has developed an unpleasantness, there’s been an underbelly that has suddenly thought this is our time, we can do this and behave in this manner.
“So whatever happens, remember the vote was very close. Whatever happens at the end of March 29 it doesn’t mean that people are going to say ‘we’ve arrived now’.
“So we still need to be the ointment, we still need to be there praying and hoping and longing for the kind of unity that is going to see us down whatever pathway we go.”
