MESSAGE TOPIC: DEDICATION TO GOD IN SOUL-WINNING

SERVICE OBJECTIVES:

  1. Understanding the purpose or reason for soul-winning
  2. Understanding the profits or benefits of soul-winning
  3. Understanding the practice of soul-winning

Soul-winning is a very crucial aspect of dedicated Christianity
Soul-winning was the bedrock of apostolic Christianity (1Cor. 9:6; 2Tim. 4:2-5)

WHY SOUL-WINNING IS NECESSARY:

  1. The salvation of souls is the priority of God (Ezek. 3:11-12; 2Pet. 3:9)
    It is God’s preeminent priority
    Soul-winning is the heartbeat of God; it is such that He sent His only Begotten Son (John 3:16)
    It is such a heartbeat of God that He sent the Holy Spirit for soul-winning (Acts 1:8)
  2. The salvation of souls is a trigger for joy in Heaven (Luke 15:10; Gal. 6:7)
    You cannot sow joy in Heaven and not reap joy on earth (Gal. 6:7)
  3. The salvation of souls is the rewarding of the travails of our Master (Isa. 53:11)
    We bring satisfaction to the labour of the Master
    If we refuse for Jesus’ suffering on the Cross to be in vain, no devil can make our work to be in vain
  4. The salvation of souls is the rescue of multitudes from the torment of hellfire (Ps. 9:17; Matt. 25:41)
    Heaven is real and hell is real; hell was prepared for the devil and his angels, not for man
  5. The salvation of multitudes brings honour to the Almighty (Prov. 14:28)
    God is honoured when multitudes gather (Prov. 14:28)

PROFITS OF SOUL-WINNING:

  1. Access to Divine Presence (Mark 16:20;Ps. 114:1-End)
  2. Access to supernatural power in signs and wonders (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:20)
  3. Access to supernatural supplies (Luke 5:4-5; 22:35)
    When you work for God, He pays you wages; the work of God attracts the wages of God
    If you do His Will, He pays your bills (Matt. 17:24-27)
  4. Access to Divine wisdom (Prov. 11:30; Dan. 12:3)
    There is a wisdom you connect to guide the affairs of your life and destiny when you win souls
  5. Access to Divine health and vitality (John 15:2; Phile. 1:9)
  6. Access to joy and fulfilment (Luke 10:17; 1Thess. 2:19)
    You don’t know what it means to be excited

THE PRACTICE OF SOUL-WINNING:

  1. Friends and family outreach (John 1:40-42; Acts 11:13; 16:31)
    This is reaching out to friends and family members first
    There may be people you may be ignoring right now that are meant to pillars in the Church
    God saves a member of a family in order to save the family
    Your salvation is tied to other people’s salvation
  2. Testimonies and evidence outreach (Ps. 105:1-2; Mark 1:45; John 4:28-30)
  3. Welfare or good works outreach (Matt. 5:14-16; Acts 9:36-42; John 8:10-11)
    This is where you are using the love of God to touch the lost
  4. Church invitation (Luke 14:23)
    This is the act of compelling people to come to the House of the Lord and trusting that God will touch them when they come
  5. Power or miracles evangelism (Acts 1:8; Mark 16:20)
    This is the deployment of the power of God for the tackling of the challenges of the people
  6. Character evangelism (Acts 11:26; 1Pet. 3:1-4)
    This is the process of exhibiting exemplary character or lifestyle before the ungodly trusting God to use that to change their lives
    If your spouse refuses to hear your preaching, let them hear your character!
    Your focus should not be on external decoration but on internal fortification (1Pet. 3:1-4)

PREPARATION FOR SOUL-WINNING:

  1. Possess the fullness of the Spirit (Acts 1:8)
  2. The attitude of prayerfulness (Matt. 12:29)
    Every spiritual tree is not permitted to be fruitless any month (John 15:16; Isa. 61:3; Rev. 22:2)

PRAYERS
Father, I come before You today and I receive the grace for fruit bearing; Father deposit upon my heart and my life the passion for soul-winning. I receive that deposit now, in Jesus’ Name!

1ST MESSAGE FROM THE SONG: NO TEMPTATION (1 CORINTHIANS 10:13):

  1. Whatever is confronting you is common, it is not special
  2. It could have been worse but for God
  3. God will not allow what will collapse you or consume you to confront you
  4. The faithfulness of God is stronger than the wickedness of the devil
  5. God will not give you a battle that is heavier than the mantle; if it is facing you, you can face it; your adversity cannot be higher than your ability
  6. Inside every war, there is a way out
  7. Don’t waste your time focusing on what happened, spend your time looking for the way out!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

  • I don’t know what has not worked before you came here, after today, it shall work!
  • Every demonic power that followed you here is leaving you after today
  • A burden is lifted, a yoke is broken, a question is answered, a problem is solved and a solution is released
  • Every trace of shame from previous years are over!
  • Whatever is in your hands that has not worked before I declare today, they are working!
  • The potentials of what is in your hands from this very second, I decree it is released!
  • This year shall not be and cannot be like other years
  • Immediately and urgently, your testimonies begin
  • Everything that is dead in your hands, receives life now!
  • What is in your hands shall flourish
  • As you return back next Sunday, you are coming back with your testimony!

School cancels Darwin play after Christian parents complain

The play, a musical called Darwin Rocks looks at the scientist’s life and his theory of evolution.

A group of Christian parents said they would not allow their children to see the play as they felt one of the scenes mocked the views of the clergyman Samuel Wilberforce, a bishop who argued against
Darwin and his theory of evolution.

The play is aimed at 7- to 11-year-olds.

Hartford Manor Primary School, a non-religious community school in a village in Cheshire, decided to cancel the musical and replace it with a less divisive show following the objections.

That decision has provoked anger among another group of parents who argue that it is “unacceptable” that their children have been denied a valuable learning opportunity.

Alan McDonald, a parent at the school who wants the production to be brought back, told the Independant: “It really does feel like a huge step backwards.

“It doesn’t seem even-handed or in any way right.”

Other parents argued that there was a conflict of interest as the chair of governors at the non-faith community school is a local vicar.

Simon Kidwell, headteacher of Hartford Manor Primary School, said: “We thought it would be a problem to rewrite it. So we decided to change it.

Scottish minister ‘sorry’ about posters that left believers feeling targeted

The Scottish Government’s punchy ‘Dear Haters’ series last year included a ‘Dear Bigots poster’, with one version stating: “Dear Bigots, you can’t spread your religious hate here. End of sermon.

“Yours, Scotland.”

 

The Evangelical Alliance (EA) said many of its members as a result were “worried that they, as people of faith, were being accused of being hateful, rather than being protected from hate crime”.

The Christian group encouraged people living in Scotland to contact their MSP to highlight the potential negative effects of the campaign.

EA also wrote to Humza Yousaf, the cabinet secretary for Justice, and Aileen Campbell, the cabinet secretary for Communities and Local Government, about the issue.

Campbell apologised and replied: “I would like to confirm that the poster was absolutely not intended to target those of faith, and I am sorry if it appeared that it did.

“We have no plans to reuse this poster in the future.

“I would also like to reassure you that this government values our relationships with our Christian communities and appreciates the valuable contributions they make to Scottish society, including supporting many of our most vulnerable and disadvantaged communities.”

    Virginia continues to deal with scandals engulfing its top three leaders.

    Gov. Ralph Northam is facing renewed calls to resign today over a racist photo in his 1984 medical school yearbook. Attorney General Mark Herring has admitted that he wore blackface at a college party in 1980.

    And a college professor, Dr. Vanessa Tyson, is accusing Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexually assaulting her at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. He denies the allegation.

    Meanwhile, Gucci has apologized for marketing a sweater that appears to mimic blackface. It looks like a black turtleneck that is worn over the nose, with a red-lined cutout for the mouth. After a public outcry, Gucci removed the product.

    In other news, President Trump spoke yesterday morning at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. The president stated, “We must build a culture that cherishes dignity and sanctity of innocent human life.” He added: “All children, born and unborn, are made in the holy image of God. Every life is sacred, and every soul is a precious gift from heaven.”

    What do these stories have in common?

    Russell Moore is an ethicist and president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention. In a very perceptive article on the Ralph Northam scandal, Dr. Moore notes that both racism and abortion “are rooted in the counter-Christ idolatry that sees human dignity and lives worth living defined by power.” He states that “abortion and racial injustice are alike an affront to human dignity, and to the image of God.”

    Jane Land and Matthew Glove are the founders of Veganuary and their latest project, Million Dollar Vegan, has received backing from a number of celebrities including Paul McCartney and Manchester United footballer Chris Smalling.

    The face of the campaign is twelve-year-old American animal rights and environmental campaigner Genesis Butler.

     

    The letter, signed by the youngster to the pontiff, reads: “As we approach the period of Lent – a season of reflection and hope – I write to you today with the utmost respect and appreciation for your speaking out on climate change, habitat loss and pollution, and for reminding the world that Earth is a home we all share.

    “In your encyclical letter, Laudato si’, you stated that every effort to protect and improve our world will involve changes in lifestyle, production and consumption. I agree with all my heart and seek your support in tackling one of the largest underlying causes of the problems we face: animal agriculture.

     

    “Your Holiness, we must act. Moving towards a plant-based diet will have substantial environmental benefits. It will protect our land, trees, oceans and air, and help feed the world’s most vulnerable.

    Nearly 30,000 people have signed a change.org petition calling for the pope to accept the challenge and go vegan from 6th March – 18th April.

    The Vatican is yet to respond.

    All three vehicles, which had been used regularly as part of outreach ministries at LIFE Church in Wapping Road, are now out of action.

    Operations manager, Rob Hutcheson told Premier: “We have provided CCTV footage and information to the police.

     

    “The impact on our community programmes has been what we expected – a real inconvenience, which has prevented us from helping and serving families across our city to our usual level this week.”

    The minibuses transported people to church, while the van was used to deliver furniture and other goods to families in need.

    LIFE Church

     

    Rob Hutcheson added: “We are having to hire in minibuses and a van whilst ours are out of action, which is turning out to be really expensive, and money that we’d much prefer to be spending on people.”

    Leaders at LIFE Church believe the damage was caused early on Sunday morning by two males who broke into the grounds of premises.

     

    It is understood a building and vehicles belonging to another local business were also vandalised at the weekend. It is unclear whether the incidents are linked.

    LIFE Church says it is in talks with insurers about meeting the cost of providing replacement vehicles.

     

    The van blaze was discovered by the church’s evening security patrol – meaning fire crews were able to respond before the fire could escalate.

    The Lord God has given me the tongue of those who are taught, that I may know how to sustain with a word him who is weary. Morning by morning he awakens; he awakens my ear to hear as those who are taught. — Isaiah 50:4

    Time: A particular portion or part of duration, whether past, present or future.

    Do you ever feel that life is incomplete because something you have desperately longed for hasn’t happened?

    All you wanted was a happy marriage, but he left you. You dreamed your whole life of having a baby, but you haven’t conceived. You thought you’d be together forever, but the person you loved died. You tried and tried to heal a relationship, but it remains broken. You gave years to a career, but it hasn’t panned out.

    Perhaps you feel that it is too late for you to truly enjoy your life, but that is just not true. I want to tell you that your “too late” is God’s “just in time.” He loves to do things in your life that man assumes are impossible.

    God’s thoughts are not your thoughts, and His ways are not your ways (see Isaiah 55:8). In other words, God’s plan is different from yours, and God’s timetable is different from your timetable. With Him, there is no such thing as too late. God always shows up at just the right time!

    Prayer Starter: I thank You, Father, that nothing is impossible for You. Today, I lift up to You all of my hopes, dreams and disappointments, knowing that You are always right on time…and that You can take even the bad things that have happened and work them out for my good. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

    TOPIC: The Spiritual Garbage Dump (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 8 February 2019)

    Bible In One Year: Leviticus 4-5; Matthew 24:29-51

    FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 2:13-16

    MEMORY VERSE: “Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.” – Matthew 15:11

    When the Olusosun Garbage Dump in Lagos caught fire recently, releasing thick black contaminating smoke into the environment, it set me thinking about human garbage dumps. The food a man eats and the contents of his heart turn him into a garbage dump. Doctors say excess salt, fats, dirt etc into our bodies, could turn a man’s body into reservoir for sickness and diseases.

    But Jesus, in Matthew 15:17-18, and that the garbage in the heart, mind or spirit is even more dangerous than the garbage in the stomach. Gal. 5:19-21 gives a comprehensive list of some spiritual garbage that must never be found in any man’s soul or spirit.

    How do these garbage get dumped into a man’s life?

    1. Through your own disobedience. This has only one name -SIN.
    2. Through the blood, idolatry, polygamy, witchcraft, stealing, drunkenness etc and the accompanying curses enter a man’s life through inheritance.
    3. Through the gates in the body. Ear, eyes, mouth, sexual organs. Dirty films and music, food sacrificed to idols, sex outside marriage, dirty talk are some of such garbage.
    4. Witchcraft and household wickedness have converted many stars into nonentities through bewitchment, spells, polygamist rivalry and attacks from the occult.
    5. Festering wounds in the spirit cause bitterness, anger, hatred.
    6. Looking back. Those who drive the vehicles of their lives with gaze fixed on the rear view mirror end up committing unpardonable errors.
    7. Many have fallen into the trap of the devil through their ignorance of the will of God.

    Beloved, Proverbs 23:7 says that a man is what he thinks. Jesus says the contents of a man’s heart determine who he is. Every action a man takes starts from the thoughts in his heart. Therefore, a man whose heart is a garbage dump automatically is garbage, which like the Olusosun dump, contaminates his environment with foul stench. Such people find that they are unable to achieve any good thing in life.

    Found yourself in this situation? Give your life afresh to Christ. Repent of all sins. Avoid sin like the plague. Study the word of God to enable you know Him better. Pray without ceasing. Kill all doubts. Avoid spiritual stagnation. Be filled with the Holy Spirit.

    Our God yearns to turn human garbage to treasure. I Pray for you that the God of new beginning will visit you, in Jesus’ name.

    MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:

    PROPHETIC WORD:
    The fire of the Holy Ghost shall consume every weapon of the occult, witchcraft and household wickedness that has tampered with your destiny.

    1. Merciful God, I thank You for the chance for a new life in Christ and the blessings that accompany it, in the name of Jesus.
    2. Father, I repent of all the spiritual filth in my life (name them). I plead for forgiveness and a new life in Christ, in the name of Jesus.
    3. O God my Father, do a new thing in my life, in the name of Jesus.
      EVENING
    4. Darkness that has covered my life, disappear now, in the name of Jesus.
    5. Fountain of life, enter into my life and turn me into Your treasure, in the name of Jesus.
    6. Immortal God, go through the foundation of my life and let Your fire consume all the filth, in the name of Jesus.
    7. O God my Father, damage my ignorance beyond repairs, in the name of Jesus.
