Joyce Meyer Devotional 2 February 2019 — Gods Timing

Topic: Gods Timing [Joyce Meyer Devotional 2 February 2019]

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” — John 13:35

God’s timing in our lives is perfect, and we will enjoy life much more if we believe that. He knows the exact right time to do the things we have requested of Him.

Don’t waste your time being upset about something that only God can change. If He withholds your desire for the time being, thank Him that He knows best.

Time is a gift—don’t waste it being upset!

Prayer Starter: Father, I know that Your timing is perfect. Help me to patiently wait on You and learn to enjoy each and every moment of my life, knowing that You are in complete control. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

First Look at Movie Trailer: A.D

Roma Downey and Mark Burnett are revealing the first glimpse of their latest production “A.D.” this Thanksgiving Day.

Set to the song “Dangerous Man” by Little Dume, the first trailer for the original NBC series event featured the incredibly diverse cast that includes Argentinean actor Juan Pablo di Pace who portrays Jesus Christ while the roles of iconic Biblical characters such as Mary Magdalene, John, James, Peter and Simon the Zealot went to actors from all over the world.

Moreover, the powerful trailer focuses on Peter who struggles with Jesus’ crucifixion and fears persecution from the Roman Empire before Christ rises again. He also strives to lead the disciples in the aftermath and chaos of Christ’s death, being the one that Jesus chose to build His church upon.

“The tomb has been opened and the Nazarene is now gone,” an informant tells an official at the end of the clip.
The initial look at “A.D.” also reveals Christ’s return to His disciples who become emboldened after their encounter. Mary, Christ’s mother, is also a central figure who witnesses her son’s death and triumphant resurrection.

Meanwhile, “A.D.” premieres on Easter Sunday, April 5, and is produced by Downey and Burnett. The NBC series is the producers’ follow up to the hit “Bible” series which aired on the History Channel. Picking up right where the “Bible” series left off, “A.D.” follows a harrowing yet uplifting journey through the birth of the church.

In fact, the television event will detail the first ten chapters of the Book of Acts, exploring the aftermath of Christ’s death and its impact on his disciples, his mother Mary, and influential political and religious leaders of the time…Read More

Rhapsody of Realities 2 February 2019 – Persevere In Prayer

Rhapsody of Realities 2 February 2019 By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome – Persevere In Prayer

Topic: Persevere In Prayer

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1).

Every Christian has a right to pray and expect answers; it’s part of our heritage in Christ. Knowing this, prayer should be for you, moments of fellowship and expectation. 1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” We were called into communion and participation with the God-kind. This means you can talk to the Lord directly, and as a friend, and He’ll hear and answer you.

No wonder Jesus emphasized in a parable, the need for men to pray always and persevere in prayer. God delights in answering your prayers. 1 Peter 3:12 says, “For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers….”

Through prayer, your spirit is stirred to respond to the Lord more quickly. 1 Corinthians 14:4 says, “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself….” Moreover, when you pray in other tongues, you’re speaking mysteries, divine secrets: “For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God…in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths {and} hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]” (1 Corinthians 14:2 AMPC). You can bring forth divine secrets regarding your family, business, education, and all that concerns you, if you’d pray fervently in the spirit.

You might not know what steps to take in certain areas of life, but as you pray in other tongues, illumination comes. Someone says, “But I’ve been praying in tongues and still haven’t received the direction or go-ahead for the things I want to do”; persevere! Keep praying, knowing you’ll surely receive answers. The Bible says if the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth (Ecclesiastes 11:3). Keep filling the clouds with your heartfelt prayers.

James 5:16 (AMPC) tells us that as the righteous, our prayers must be heartfelt and persistent: “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” You’ve been made righteous, and have become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; therefore, your prayers make tremendous power available, dynamic in its working. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I rejoice at the glorious impact and changes that take place in, and for me as I pray. Even now, I’m suffused in the glory of your presence, as your love fills my heart, and thrills my soul. Hallelujah!

Open Heavens for Teens 2 February 2019 – Whatsoever Things Are Honest

Topic: Whatsoever Things Are Honest [Open Heavens for Teens 2 February 2019]

Memorise: “Finally brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest… if there be any praise, think on these things.” – Philippians 4:8

Read: Luke 18:10-14

10 Two men went up into the temple [enclosure] to pray, the one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.

11 The Pharisee took his stand ostentatiously and began to pray thus before and with himself: God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of men–extortioners (robbers), swindlers [unrighteous in heart and life], adulterers–or even like this tax collector here.

12 I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I gain.

13 But the tax collector, [merely] standing at a distance, would not even lift up his eyes to heaven, but kept striking his breast, saying, O God, be favorable (be gracious, be merciful) to me, the especially wicked sinner that I am!

14 I tell you, this man went down to his home justified (forgiven and made upright and in right standing with God), rather than the other man; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.

Bible In One Year: Exodus 28-30, Matthew 21:1-22

MESSAGE:

Philippians 4:8 advices that we should think on honest things. This is because the mind is so powerful that it takes the shape of whatever it dwells on, if it dwells on pretense, the fellow may not even know who he is anymore.

To be honest is to be free of deceit. It is good to be honest with everyone, especially yourself. If you write an exam and fail because you did not read, don’t say “The examiner failed me”, be honest with yourself and accept your fault so that you can study for the next exam.

If your parents are not as rich as the parents of the other children in school, don’t struggle to wear the things they wear or spend the little you have to keep up appearance, you will gain nothing from that. Be true to yourself; no pretense, it is only then that your mind will be settled to mind important things. Trust me; it doesn’t matter who you are today, what matters is who you are becoming. I am the son of a village farmer that is extremely poor. He struggled to send me to school where I met with children of richer parents. I didn’t pretend, I just concentrated on becoming successful. Today, by God’s grace, I am well recognized all over the world.

Key Point:

It doesn’t matter who you are today, what matter is who you are becoming.

Hymn 7

1. I am Thine 0 Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Seeds of Destiny 2 February 2019 Devotional – What to do to Stay Healthy

Topic: What to do to Stay Healthy [Seeds of Destiny 2 February 2019 Devotional]

SCRIPTURE: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Matthew 8:17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your revelation determines your possession.

Yesterday, we saw the need to understand our Divine heritage in God; we saw amongst other things that Divine Health is the heritage of God’s children. This is very important because until you know what is yours in God, you can easily become a victim of the negative circumstances of this world.

Now, the important question is, how do you activate the force of Divine health? In other words, what do you do to stay healthy?

Possess the scriptural light regarding your heritage of health!

Beloved, in order to stay healthy in life, it is very important to possess the light or revelation of God’s Word regarding your heritage of Divine health (Isaiah 60:1). Possessing this light is important because your revelation determines your possession.

Let me give you a practical example: one day, Papa Bishop Oyedepo saw one light in Matthew 8:17 where the Bible says,‘…Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.’ He said that when he read that verse, the Holy Ghost made the word ‘took’ to stand out. He understood by revelation that God has already taken away every sickness in his body on the Cross of Calvary even before he was born and so, the sickness cannot be there. This means, what has been taken cannot be untaken.

Beloved, what a vital lesson of life! Believing that sickness has already been taken from your life on the Cross of Calvary is a major key to staying healthy (Matthew 8:17). What has already been taken cannot be there. Let this light dwell in you; this is one secret of living in abundant health.

Remember this: Your revelation determines your possession.

ASSIGNMENTS:

  1. Meditate on our Anchor Scripture.
  2. Believe that Jesus has taken away all sicknesses on the Cross and what has been taken cannot be untaken.

PRAYER: O Lord, thank You for Your provision in keeping me in a state of perfect health. I believe that I am healed from every sickness and disease on the Cross of Calvary Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

MFM Daily Devotional 2 February 2019 – Hold On To God’s Word

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 2 February 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Hold On To God’s Word

TOPIC: Hold On To God’s Word (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 2 February 2019)

Bible In One Year: Exodus 29-30; Matthew 21:23-46

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Mark 4:34-41

MEMORY VERSE: “And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.” – Luke 17:6

The MESSAGE:

One of the reasons believers suffer needless hardship, problems and pain is that they do not hold on to God’s word and allow it to work effectually for them in different circumstances. When God gives you His word or promise concerning anything, the devil will come to you with his lies. He could orchestrate a trial or problem to make you fear and take your eyes away from what God told you. If you do, the devil will have his way and make you to fail God and yourself. The word of God is the sure key to get us everything we need in the kingdom. It is our cure-all and our source.

Jesus gave the disciples a word, “Let us go to the other side”. After this, they set sail and Jesus slept in the boat. Suddenly, there came a storm and tempest and they feared that the ship was going to sink. They could not stop the storm and were so troubled that they woke Jesus up. He rebuked the storm and the wind and they obeyed Him. He called His disciples men of little faith? Why? He had given them the word, “Let us go to the other side.” The disciples took their eyes and faith away from God’s word.

In difficult and precarious situations, remember the word God has personally given you or His promise in the Bible. Hold on that word. Believe it. God watches over His word to bring it to pass. Jesus did not say, “Let us go and sink.” The disciples should have known that it was impossible for them to sink when the Master had told them that they would sail successfully to the other side. That faith in the word of the Master should have been the anchor for their soul and given them confidence to face and rebuke the storm themselves.

Beloved, don’t be a Christian of little faith like the disciples. Don’t fail to hold on to God’s word and act on it in trying times. God has given you great and precious promises through the Bible concerning your health, marriage, children, finance, ministry, career, business and other issues you are concerned about. Hold on to God’s word, don’t take your eyes away from His promise. The word of God is sure, infallible and will never fail to be fulfilled. No matter what may be happening in any area of your life, believe and act on God’s word concerning it. It will be fulfilled and your joy will be full. God watches over His word to fulfill it.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
TRIALS AND TEMPTATIONS ARE LADDERS TO SUCCESS FOR THOSE WHO BELIEVE AND ACT ON GOD’S WORD.

PROPHETIC WORD:
The battles of life shall not swallow you.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Father, I thank You for Your thoughts towards me are of good, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Father, help me to always remember Your promises in time of adversity, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Every plan of the enemy for my life, fail woefully, in the name of Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 2 February 2019 – Found Wanting?

Topic: Found Wanting? [DCLM Daily Manna 2 February 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Revelation 20:1-15 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged every man according to their works” (Revelation 20:13).

MESSAGE:

Napoleon Bonaparte, a French emperor, who like Adolf Hitler, brought death to millions of people to satisfy his lust for earthly power, screamed: “I die before my time, and my body will be given back to the earth. Such is the fate of him who has been called the great Napoleon. What an abyss between my deep misery and the eternal kingdom of Christ!”

There are many stories from the Scriptures and in our contemporary time that expressly show the real experience of men after death or near the door of death. There is the passionate cry of the rich man who died without God, but pleased that warning should be sent to his brothers to avoid them meeting him in the same place. There are numerous stories of atheists, who while on earth, deceived many with their erroneous beliefs and teaching, but while on their death beds, cried like babies.

It is self-deceit to think that death is the end of all activities. The passage brings to reality the hereafter events that will affect all mortals. John uses prophetic figurative languages in order to rehearse the effect the gospel has had on the work of the kingdom of darkness. The seventh and last symbolic vision in Revelation is given to manifest the totally of the victory of the gospel over the spiritual powers of darkness.

John emphasises that no unrepentant sinner in this world will escape the final judgment. The beast and the false prophet will also be judged.

If you must escape the looming judgment, adequate preparation is required. As a sinner, you must confess your sins, forsake them and accept Christ as a personal Lord and Saviour while believers must remain steadfast in holiness and righteousness till the end.

Thought For The Day: Victory belongs to the courageous.

Our Daily Bread 2 February 2019 Devotional – Ears Were Made for Listening

Topic: Ears Were Made for Listening [Our Daily Bread 2 February 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Exodus 31–33; Matthew 22:1–22

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear. – Jeremiah 5:21

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Jeremiah 5:18-23

Actress Diane Kruger was offered a role that would make her a household name. But it required her to play a young wife and mother experiencing the loss of her husband and child, and she had never personally suffered loss to such a degree. She didn’t know if she could be believable. But she accepted, and in order to prepare, she began attending support meetings for people walking through the valley of extreme grief.

Initially she offered suggestions and thoughts when those in the group shared their stories. She, like most of us, wanted to be helpful. But gradually she stopped talking, and simply started listening. It was only then she began truly learning to walk a mile in their shoes. And her realization came by using her ears.

Jeremiah’s indictment against the people was that they refused to use their “ears” to hear the Lord’s voice. The prophet did not mince words, calling them “foolish and senseless people” (Jeremiah 5:21). God is constantly at work in our lives communicating words of love, instruction, encouragement, and caution. The Father’s desire is that you and I learn and mature, and we have each been given the tools, such as ears, to do so. The question then is, will we use them to hear the heart of our Father?

Today’s Reflection
Father, I believe You are always speaking. Forgive my stubborn tendency to think I have all the answers. Open my ears that I may hear.
