My mother died of cancer, as did my wife’s father. Our older son survived cancer only through surgery and intensive radiation. Since cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the world, chances are good that you have been touched personally by this terrible disease as well.
Now comes an astounding announcement from a team of Israeli scientists: They might have discovered the first true cure for cancer. One of them told the Jerusalem Post, “We believe we will offer in a year’s time a complete cure for cancer.” He added, “Our cancer cure will be effective from day one, will last a duration of a few weeks and will have no or minimal side-effects at a much lower cost than most other treatments on the market.”
The scientists describe their discovery as a kind of cancer antibiotic. It uses a combination of compounds called “peptides” that kill cancer cells in a way that is unaffected by mutations. Their treatment attacks cancer stem cells and targets cancer cells so specifically that side effects are minimized. It can also be tailored to the specific cancer it is fighting.
The company will soon begin clinical trials that could be completed within a few years and would make the treatment available for specific cases.
“Gospel” translates the Greek word euangelion, meaning “good news.” Jesus began his public ministry by calling people to “repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15).
The Christian “gospel” is the best possible news: You can be saved from an eternity in hell for an eternity in heaven as the transformed child of your Father. The God who made you loves you so…
The congregation at Oasis Waterloo were told on Sunday that, with the worsening temperatures, this was a way their actions could match their faith.
The cards allow people to top-up their travel money and tap through barriers on London’s public transport – on buses you can only use an Oyster card or contactless card and cash is no longer an option.
Steve Chalke, a well-known speaker at Christian events and founder of Oasis’ charitable work, told Premier that the idea came to him when preparing a sermon on the time Jesus tells Peter to drop his fishing nets and follow him (in Matthew 4).
Chalke said: “I talked about the fact that what we do with some bits of the Bible is we turn them into metaphors when actually they’re literal…in this case Jesus actually asks Peter to follow him and we turn it back into ‘Well, stay the same as you are, carry on life as it is and just believe these things’ when in actual fact this is about being faithful, showing an allegiance, a loyalty, a change of lifestyle, a change of habits, a change of use of resources and money.
“I knew that the weather was going to get cold…I said ‘How about we do something to get people off the streets?’ There are estimated to be by the London’s mayor’s office about between 2,500 and 3,000 people sleeping rough in doorways – you can’t get them all into churches and other community buildings.

Do you REALLY PRAY AT MIDNIGHT? HERE ARE FACTS about MIDNIGHT PRAYERS.
1). MIDNIGHT is a time of TRANSITION, from one day to another. GOD ALMIGHTY can bring a TRANSITION in your life as you pray at MIDNIGHT.
2). MIDNIGHT is a time of GREAT SPECIAL ACTIVITIES BOTH GOOD AND EVIL. Destinies of men/women are shaped and interrupted at MIDNIGHT. If you are not shaping your DESTINY at MIDNIGHT, then somebody may interrupt your life at MIDNIGHT.
3). At a natural level, GREAT VICTORIES have been won when nations were caught by surprise as their armies were asleep at MIDNIGHT. Satan launches attacks at MIDNIGHT, he feeds people in their DREAMS at MIDNIGHT; he RAPES others in their dream as they are asleep at MIDNIGHT etc.
4). GREAT CALAMITIES are SPIRITUALLY EFFECTED at MIDNIGHT. GOD ALMIGHTY waited till MIDNIGHT to execute judgment on Egypt: (Exodus 11:4-6) Then Moses said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘About MIDNIGHT I will go out into the midst of Egypt; and all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant who is behind the hand mill, and all the firstborn of the animals.
5). MIDNIGHT is the time people are MOST VULNERABLE TO SPIRITUAL ATTACKS. It is the hour when enemies lay siege and render people DEFENSELESS. It is also the time that you can LAUNCH A DEADLY, SURPRISE ATTACK on your enemies’ camp.
6). As a CHRISTIAN, you can break open CLOSED DOORS, as you pray at MIDNIGHT. Samson lay low till MIDNIGHT, then he arose at MIDNIGHT, took hold of the doors of the gate of the city and the two gateposts, pulled them up, bar and all, put them on his shoulders, and carried them to the top of the hill that faces Hebron. (Judges 16:3)
7). MYSTERIOUS things, happen the most at MIDNIGHT. Have you lost anything or anyone very dear to you under MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES?
Chances are that the operation was carried out at the MIDNIGHT HOUR. Remember the harlot in Solomon’s time who lost her child by sleeping on him at MIDNIGHT, and at MIDNIGHT she stole her friend’s child:
1 Kings 3:20(KJV) And she arose at MIDNIGHT, and took my son from beside me, while your handmaid slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
8). GREAT SPIRITUAL TRANSACTIONS, happens at MIDNIGHT. Solomon got wisdom from GOD ALMIGHTY at MIDNIGHT. If you are not receiving something good at MIDNIGHT, then chances are high, that there are evil changes happening against you at MIDNIGHT.
9). VERY WICKED OPERATIONS HAPPENS at MIDNIGHT but we can change them. We must arise and fight. WE MUST WAKE-UP AND PRAY. IF WE DO, we can have great impact in our SOCIETIES AND CHURCHES.
10). David, the man who never lost a single battle in all his life, has this to say: At MIDNIGHT, I will rise and give thanks to You, because of your righteous judgments. Psalm 119:62) what excuse do you have? Do you say, “I wish I arise but I’ll be tired”? Do you have a busier schedule than that of KING DAVID (PRESIDENT OF THE NATION OF ISRAEL)?. I don’t think so.
11) Do you know better than what PAUL AND SILAS KNEW? Who praised and worshipped GOD ALMIGHTY at MIDNIGHT, but at MIDNIGHT, PAUL AND SILAS WERE PRAYING AND SINGING HYMNS TO GOD ALMIGHTY, and the prisoners were listening to them. SUDDENLY there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and IMMEDIATELY all the doors were opened and EVERYONE’S CHAINS WERE LOOSED. (Acts 16:25-26)
12). MIDNIGHT is the best time to make SERIOUS INTERCESSION. And JESUS CHRIST said to them, which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at MIDNIGHT and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him, And he will answer from within and say, Do not trouble me, the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed, I cannot rise and give it to you? I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he’s his friend, yet because of his PERSISTENCE he will rise and give him as many as he needs. (Luke 11:5-8)
13). Praying at MIDNIGHT is a SACRIFICE that will not go UNREWARDED. GOD ALMIGHTY sees our DESPERATION through the SACRIFICES we make to HIM.
My prayer is that the LORD JESUS CHRIST will help us to understand that when we are ASLEEP, Satan and his demons aren’t asleep but they are BUSY LAUNCHING ARROWS AT US. May the LORD help us to understand that there are SERIOUS ACTIVITIES that takes place at MIDNIGHT, much of which are against us. LORD JESUS CHRIST please, deliver us from SPIRITUAL LAZINESS, so that we can RISE UP TO DEFEND OUR INHERITANCE and TAKE BACK what the devil has STOLEN from us in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST.
GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU MAKE PRAYING AT MIDNIGHT A MUST AS THE LORD HELP YOU AND I.
MAY YOUR NITE NOT BE USED TO TIGHTEN YOUR DESTINY.
The call to vocational ministry later in life is both exciting and challenging. It is exciting to know God is preparing you for another path and, perhaps, another place. It’s challenging because of issues related to family, finances, and training.
We often receive questions at Church Answers from those going into vocational ministry for the first time in their 40s and 50s, and even in their 60s. As we try to guide them toward next steps, we ask them a series of questions. These are the six most common questions:
Will you stay in your secular vocation for now? The answer to that question obviously has financial implications. But it also allows the minister to be a marketplace pastor, or worship leader, or executive pastor, or any other position.
Is your family supportive of your moving in this direction? This question is one that is obviously important at any phase of life or decision-making. It has profound implications when you are older. The change is often dramatic and life-altering for the entire family.
How will I train for ministry? Can you work in your current church in an internship or as a volunteer staff person? Will you go to seminary online? Are you and your family willing to relocate?
Where do you see yourself in five years? Are you moving toward a full-time vocational position? Or are you called and content to be a marketplace minister?
Where will you find opportunities to preach? This question, of course, is specifically directed toward those who sense God’s call to pastoral…
Topic: Our Greatest Privilege [Joyce Meyer Devotional 30 January 2019]
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you…for a pretense make long prayers… — Matthew 23:14 (NKJV)
I have made a commitment to pray more than ever, and I hope you will join me.
Prayer is the greatest privilege that we have. Prayer makes all things possible! God’s Word teaches us that we have not because we ask not (see James 4:2). It is tragic indeed to miss out on the immense benefits that prayer provides simply because we fail to take the time to ask.
My desire is to “pray my way through the day.” It is another way of saying what the apostle Paul said, which is “Pray without ceasing” (see 1 Thessalonians 5:17 AMPC).
This does not mean that I intend to stay on my knees all day or sit somewhere with folded hands praying all day. I simply desire to understand that all failure is a prayer failure and to be wise enough to invite the Lord to help me with each thing I do.
The Bible says in Ephesians 6:18 that we should “pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer” (AMPC). Forming the habit of doing so will open the door to more victory and breakthrough than we can imagine.
I don’t want to miss any more opportunities to see God’s amazing power manifested in my life, and I am sure you don’t either, so please join me in discovering the power of simple prayer!
Prayer Starter: Dear Father, I commit to praying my way through the day, and as I begin, I ask for Your help. I am praying that You will help me pray! Teach me the vital importance of talking with You about everything. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
