The Law of Priority by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

The Law of Priority by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

To unleash your destiny and live above average, you have to practice the law of priority. It is the law which demands that you put first (important) things first.

As a student, you cannot desire academic excellence and put your studies last. A business person who wants to shine in business cannot give the time that should be for business to other issues and expect to shine. If you want your marriage to succeed, spending quality time with your spouse must not occupy a position of little or no importance in your life.

Success can be defined as the progressive realization of a predetermined goal. That means, firstly, there is a goal you have set for yourself, and then you move towards it. This definition reveals that the discipline to prioritize and the ability to work towards expected goals are essential to success. You cannot succeed until you are able to have priorities in life. A life in which “anything goes” will ultimately be a life in which “nothing goes”.

The law of priorities talks about the importance or value you place on getting to your destination in life. According to this law, you either organize your life or you agonize in life.

Deuteronomy 28:1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth.

The scripture above shows clearly that the primary thing that guarantees our being set on high is the importance or priority we give to the voice of the Lord.

Success does not happen by chance or mistake. This means that you have to sit down to think about it and have lay plans and put steps in motion to make sure you reach your goal. God told Abram, ‘I am going to bless you’. But Abram had to do something first before he could get the blessing. He had to leave his father’s house and go to the place God wanted him to be.

Genesis 12:4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Unfortunately many people do not have priorities; they just live their lives anyhow. When they wake up in the morning and someone comes to invite them to a village meeting or any other trivial issue, they would gladly skip going to work for that day. While on their way to the meeting, if someone else comes with the news that a relative just came in from Europe or America, you will see them turn at once to go see the relative. They have no priorities, no direction, nothing, they just move anyhow.

After God, learn how to plan your life so that nothing sweeps you about aimlessly. Have long term plans, short term plans and immediate plans for your life. Do not just wake up in the morning and do anything that comes your way. Have a plan and follow it. A life without plans and priorities is a meaningless life but your life will have meaning from today in the name of Jesus – Amen!

God bless you

The Victorious Family (Part 2) By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

The Victorious Family (Part 2) By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: The Victorious Family (Part 2)

Dear Reader,

The responsibility of having a victorious family rests absolutely on you and that begins with your perception of the family unit and its benefits. When the purpose for the family is clearly understood, then proper family structure and values will be treasured, strengthened upheld. A lack of understanding and appreciation of the family ultimately creates a tendency for abuse, misuse and taking for granted.

The family is the God-ordained environment for the building of individuals. There are values to be taught and character traits to be imbibed among members of a family. Successful and solid families do not just come into existence; it is built on a proper marriage foundation. The Bible says: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).

Every Christian must desire to have a triumphant family life, because the success or failure of a family, particularly a Christian family has far greater effects than many couples know. Successful families are products of successful individuals, as you cannot give what you do not possess.

Also Read: Fitting the Pieces to Form a Whole (Part 4) By Pastor Faith Oyedepo

No serious-minded believer will want to go into a relationship with an unbeliever or unserious Christian. That is why it would be a waste of time to keep praying for a spiritually sound partner when you personally do not have a strong relationship with God. When you make your ways right with God, He naturally blesses you with a good partner and a wonderful family life. This is why the Bible says: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33).

But, what are the Benefits of Having a Triumphant Family?

It is very important that you understand that when you live in harmony, you are the primary beneficiary. Below are some of the benefits of marital harmony.

Personal and Career Success

There is a building process that is meant to take place in the lives of the individual that make up a family or household. However, faulty foundations have resulted in members of the family being half-built, which always affects one’s progress in life. When you live in harmony with your spouse, you can plan with him and, move forward in your family. enjoy personal and career success. Also, a harmonious family is a good place to enjoy personal and career success. God created the family to enjoy fruitfulness in all area. Marriage is designed to help you maximise your life because God does not take His people backwards, He takes them forward. God has designed marriage, among other things, to enable you to grow to your maximum. So, when you live in harmony in your family, you are the primary beneficiary.

How does this work? In Genesis, we see how wonderful it is to live in harmony. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do (Genesis 11:6).

When a man and a woman agree to build a home, both of them are dedicated to each other, they love each other, they support each other, they encourage each other, and because of that, they enhance each other’s performance; they want to please God and they will always want to do what is right.

There are even some jobs that when someone applies for they ask if he is married? Why? Because some level of responsibility is attached to marriage. So, because both of them are now dedicated to each other, they agree to build a home and that affects their performance in life generally. It affects their performance at work, performance in their career and that way they become the primary beneficiary of a harmonious family life.

For instance, you must have noticed that if a man leaves home with trouble and concerns he carries those problems with him to his workplace. He may not even have to discuss those problems with his colleagues, but you will find out that those problems automatically will affect his performance. That is why if there is harmony in the home, it becomes the good ground on which to enjoy personal and career success.

Church Building

We are all aware that the church of Jesus Christ is made up of families. Every member of the church represents a specific family here on earth. Individual families make up the church. When I talk about the church, I mean the body of Christ at large. So, when families enjoy harmony in the home, automatically, there will be unity and harmony in the church. Nation Building

When families enjoy unity automatically, it will affect the nation. There is so much of negativism going on across the nations of the earth today. Every nation experiences a great deal of this negativism and at the root of it all is disharmony in the home. So, when the families or homes begin to enjoy harmony, it will affect the nations.

I read sometimes ago the story of the man, John Owen who is a British Anthropologist. He conducted some studies over eight different civilizations that have come and gone and in his studies, he found out something outstanding that runs through these eight civilizations. The fall of the families resulted in the fall of the nation. Therefore, if our nation must be built, the responsibility is on the church, and on you as an individual member representing a specific family on the earth. I curse every spirit of disharmony and disagreement in your home today in Jesus name!

However, success in the home begins by knowing God, the Creator of the universe. If you are not born again, you need to surrender your life to Christ. If you want to accept Jesus as your Lord and personal Saviour, then say this prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are born again and now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

MFM Daily Devotional 22 January 2019 – Divine Opportunities

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 22 January 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Divine Opportunities

TOPIC: Divine Opportunities (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 22 January 2019)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Luke 18:35-43

Bible In One Year: Exodus 1-3; Matthew 14:22-36

MEMORY VERSE: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” – Galatians 6:10

The MESSAGE:

God promotes and announces people by giving them opportunities. An opportunity is a chance God provides for an individual to get his destiny fulfilled, his lot improved and his glory revealed. While some miss out on their divine opportunities, some have been fortunate to use their opportunities so well and have written their names in the divine hall of fame and greatness. Bible characters like David, Nehemiah, Elijah, Peter, John and Paul, among others used the divine opportunities they had to change the course and story of their lives to the best.

Jesus asked to use Peter’s boat. Going by the frustration of having fished all night without catching anything, Peter would have refused to release his boat to Jesus but he did not. It was a divine opportunity that changed Peter’s life to the best forever. Every turning point anyone experiences is usually preceded and occasioned by a divine opportunity which the person utilised. Peter seized the divine opportunity heaven offered him and became a foremost apostle and one of the greatest Bible characters and kingdom builders in human history till date. Saul of Tarsus was persecuting Christians and kicking against the body of Christ. That was diametrically opposed to his divine destiny. How will he ever know and enter into God’s original plan for him? He needed a divine encounter and opportunity. One day, on his way to Damascus, heaven offered him a golden divine opportunity. The Lord Jesus Christ appeared to him. Saul of Tarsus did not miss that divine opportunity. He did not disregard the heavenly call and vision. He surrendered to the Lord, accepted Him and did His bidding. He went on to write two-third of the New Testament and is today one of the greatest Bible heroes.

God’s command that we share the gospel and win souls into His kingdom is an opportunity for us as believers. Beloved, each time you share the gospel and encourage sinners to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, you are offering them divine opportunities to become sons of God, heirs of the kingdom and make heaven. That is why the Bible says that soul winners are wise. Have you been availing yourself of divine opportunities? Do you know how to recognise such opportunities and avail yourself of them? You need the Holy Spirit to help you in these matters.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
SUCCESS IS WHERE PREPARATION AND OPPORTUNITY MEET.

PROPHETIC WORD:
May you not miss out in life.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. O God my Father, announce and promote me, in the name of Jesus.
  2. I shall fulfill my divine destiny, in the name of Jesus.
  3. I shall not miss my divine opportunity, in the name of Jesus.
    EVENING
  4. O Lord, arise and write my name in the divine hall of fame and greatness, in the name of Jesus.
  5. O God, make me a kingdom builder, in the name of Jesus.
  6. Heaven shall offer me a golden divine opportunity today, in the name of Jesus.
  7. Holy Spirit divine, avail me of divine opportunities, in the name of Jesus.

DCLM Daily Manna 22 January 2019 – Resolving Conflicts

Topic: Resolving Conflicts [DCLM Daily Manna 22 January 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: James 4:1-17 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded” (James 4:8).

MESSAGE:

There are seven situations that form the root cause of conflicts: people having opposing agenda; people have something that the other person needs but does not have; when there are personality conflict between individuals; when there is a significant change in the relationship equilibrium between individuals; when there is betrayal of trust between individuals; when there is thoughtless and irresponsible behaviour of an individual and when the need certain groups or individuals are not met.

The passage today puts lust at the very centre of man’s conflicts and wars. This lust leads to all evil works: murder, fight, war, worldliness, pride, enmity with God, etc. But we can obtain the grace of God to help us subdue these carnal propensities and also resist the tempter.

This grace also helps us to avoid presumptuous language as regards our future. We are able to remove the arrogant “we will” words that disregard the authority and providence of God and ignore the shortness and uncertainty of life. Our speech must promote our habitual dependence on God, not only for our life but also everyone of our plans and projects.

Self lies at the heart of man’s conflicts and problems. Self goals leads to lust, envy, fighting and quarreling. As people get lost in their selfish pursuits, they become opposed to God and man. The word of God likens them to adulterers and adulteresses, who out of the desire to please self, act in deference to their family and friends. As believers, we should put God first in everything we do.

Thought For The Day: Obtain the grace to subdue carnal propensities.

TREM Devotional 22 January 2019 – God is about to bring Forth Something New

Topic: God is about to bring Forth Something New [TREM Devotional 22 January 2019]

“For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son…” Judges 13:5 KJV

Samson was raised a deliverer by God Almighty. Ever before he was born, God spoke to his mother what he was going to become. When God was speaking to the mother, the father was not around. So, she went and spoke to the husband. She said to him ‘look, I have been visited by God and He has told me that would have a son.’ It is important that I let you know here that this woman had been barren, she did not have a child. Whenever God breaks into barrenness, He is about to bring forth something new, something unique and special.

When we talk about barrenness, don’t just zero in on the area of the fruit of the womb only. It could be in the area of your job, your business, your academics or any other thing that has not been the way it should be. If you are in this situation, I believe that something special is about to happen in your life. Because when you study the cases of men and women who encountered challenges in the area of childbirth, you will notice that the sons that were born were very special. They had a prophetic agenda. That is why the enemy would try and resist them from being born. The devil never fights what is not important. He fights what is going to be a threat to his own kingdom.

So, Samson was going to be a serious threat to the Philistines. God had already spoken before the foundation of the world that He was going to bring forth a child that would deal a deadly blow to the Philistines who were the permanent enemy of the people of Israel. That is why the devil tried to hinder her from having the baby.

Beloved, is there something the enemy has been trying to keep you from having? Cheer up, wipe your tears and blow your nose, God always has the final words in every situation.

Our Daily Bread 22 January 2019 Devotional – Trying to Impress

Topic: Trying to Impress [Our Daily Bread 22 January 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Exodus 7–8; Matthew 15:1–20

Out of the heart come evil thoughts . . . . These are what defile a person. – Matthew 15:19–20

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Matthew 15:1-11

When a college class went on a cultural field trip, the instructor almost didn’t recognize one of his star pupils. In the classroom she had concealed six-inch heels beneath her pant legs. But in her walking boots she was less than five feet tall. “My heels are how I want to be,” she laughed. “But my boots are how I really am.”

Our physical appearance doesn’t define who we are; it’s our heart that matters. Jesus had strong words for those masters of appearances—the super-religious “Pharisees and teachers of the law.” They asked Jesus why His disciples didn’t wash their hands before eating, as their religious traditions dictated (Matthew 15:1–2). Jesus asked, “Why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?” (v. 3). Then He pointed out how they had invented a legal loophole to keep their wealth instead of caring for their parents (vv. 4–6), thus dishonoring them and violating the fifth commandment (Exodus 20:12).

If we obsess over appearances while looking for loopholes in God’s clear commands, we’re violating the spirit of His law. Jesus said that “out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality,” and the like (Matthew 15:19). Only God, through the righteousness of His Son Jesus, can give us a clean heart.

Today’s Reflection
Lord, we are so prone to rely on our own efforts to impress You and others. Help us to be authentic in all our relationships, and to enjoy the restored heart we can have through Your forgiveness.

Seeds of Destiny 22 January 2019 Devotional – Being Found Where God Is Found

Topic: Being Found Where God Is Found [Seeds of Destiny 22 January 2019 Devotional]

Scripture: And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. – 1 Kings 17:1

Thought For The Day: Walking with God implies being found where God is found and being absent from where God is absent.

Sometime ago, I went for a program in a 5-star hotel and then met an older man who wanted to speak with me over an issue. He suggested that two of us should sit at the pool bar section of the hotel and talk. I told him that I would not follow him to that place and sit down around half-naked people including the opposite sex swimming at the pool and also with people drinking alcohol. I cannot be found there; we can talk anywhere but that kind of place is abominable to me. This is because that is an ungodly environment. And doing that would not portray a godly image of a spiritual leader to members of his congregation. If the people I lead see me in that kind of place, they would ask, ‘What is pastor doing here?’ I did that because I am not supposed to be found where God is not found; a dedicated person is only found where God is found and absent from where God is absent.

Beloved, to be a dedicated person is to be found where God can be found and be absent from where God is absent. Elijah told Ahab, ‘…before God whom I stand…’ (1 kings 17:1). This means, walking with God implies being found where God is found and being absent from where God is absent.

Beloved, make up your mind not to be found in a place where God is absent; do not engage in an activity that drives God away from your life. Do not follow people to an environment where the presence of the devil is active and his activity is being perpetrated.

Remember this: Walking with God implies being found where God is found and being absent from where God is absent.

Assignments:

  1. Disengage yourself from every ungodly association.
  2. Make up your mind to be found only where God’s presence is felt and noticed.
  3. Do not neglect the assembling of the brethren together (Hebrew 10:25).

Prayer: O Lord, I ask and receive the grace to cultivate and maintain Your Presence. Help me to be found only where You are found, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 22 January 2019 – Live Like Jesus

Topic: Live Like Jesus [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 22 January 2019]

But [Christ Jesus] made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. – Philippians 2:7

The truth of this verse hasn’t really dawned on most people. They mistakenly think that Jesus was able to work wonders, to perform miracles and to live above sin because He had divine powers that we don’t have. Thus, they have never really aspired to live like He lived.

“Oh my,” they say with great humility, “I could never live like Jesus did. After all, He had an advantage. He was God!”

They don’t realize that when Jesus came to earth, He voluntarily gave up that advantage, living His life here not as God but as a man. He had no innate supernatural powers. He had no ability to perform miracles until after He was anointed by the Holy Spirit as recorded in Luke 3:22. He worked wonders, not by His own power but by the power of the Father, saying, “The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works” (John 14:10).

And when He prayed, He prayed not as a divine One who had authority as God, but as a man who walked obediently with God. And, as Hebrews 5:7 says, “His prayers were heard not because of His deity, but because of His reverence toward God” (The Amplified Bible).

Jesus, the divine Son of God, set aside the privileges and powers of deity for a time and lived as a man on earth. Once you grasp that, it will absolutely thrill your soul! Why? Because it means that you, as a reborn child of God, filled with the same Holy Spirit as Jesus was, have the same opportunity to live as He lived on earth. In fact, that is exactly what He intends. In John 17:18 He said to the Father, “Just as You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world” (The Amplified Bible).

Jesus has sent you into the world to live as He lived. Through the new birth, He’s enabled you to exchange the sinful nature of Adam for the sinless nature of God.

He’s given you the ability and the command to live above sin, to live in fellowship with the Father, to preach the gospel, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to cast out demons and to make disciples.

Once you realize that, you’ll throw off the shackles of doubt that have held you back. You’ll begin to live as Jesus meant for you to live—not as a sin-ridden son of fallen man, but as a reborn child of the Most High God. Then those around you will actually begin to see Jesus—in you.

Billy Graham Devotional 22 January 2019 – Angels Around Us

Topic: Angels Around Us [Billy Graham Devotional 22 January 2019]

But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth . . . — Acts 5:19

Demonic activity and Satan worship are on the increase in all parts of the world. The devil is at work more than at any other time. The Bible says that because he realizes his time is short, Satan’s activity will increase. But his evil activities are countered for the people of God by His ministering spirits, the holy ones of the angelic order. Christians should never fail to sense the operation of angelic glory. It forever eclipses the world of demonic powers, as the sun does a candle’s light. If you are a believer, expect powerful angels to accompany you in your life experiences. And let those events dramatically illustrate the friendly presence of “the holy ones” as Daniel calls them. Certainly, the eye of faith sees many evidences of the supernatural display of God’s power and glory. God is still in business.

Prayer for the day: When I am tempted by Satan, I will remember Your angels are around me, Lord.

2 Iranian Christians Refuse Judges’ Offer to Renounce Faith, Sent Back to Jail

2 Iranian Christians Refuse Judges’ Offer to Renounce Faith, Sent Back to Jail

Two Iranian Christians this month refused to renounce their faith in court in exchange for freedom and were sent back to jail and told to await a verdict.

Saheb Fadaie and Fatemeh Bakhteri, both Christians, were asked Jan. 15 by their respective judges, Hassan Babaee and Ahmad Zargar, to renounce their faith, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW), a United Kingdom-based organization which supports religious freedom around the world.

The two, though, would not deny Christ during the court hearing in Tehran.

“They were subsequently told to expect a verdict in the appeal against their conviction … within the next few days,” CSW reported.

Fadai and Bakhteri are charged with “spreading propaganda against the regime,” which reportedly involved discussing Christian doctrines in a house church “regarding the ascendancy of Christ and the ultimate authority of [the] Bible,” CSW said. The doctrines “were interpreted as being attacks on Islam,” sources told the organization.

Their sentences for discussing Christian doctrine were 18 months for Fadaie and 22 months for Bakhteri. They were sentenced in September and had filed an appeal, which was heard Jan. 15 when the Iranian judges asked them to renounce their faith.

Fadaie already was serving a 10-year sentence for “acting against national security” by “promoting Zionist…
