Open Heaven 21 January 2019 Prayer Points on Today – Qualified By Grace
Topic: Deadly Commitment To God [Seeds of Destiny 21 January 2019 Devotional]
Scripture: And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not. Malachi 3:17-18.
Thought For The Day: A dedicated person does not turn back from following God no matter what seems not to be working in his life temporarily.
Dedication to God is very critical to the fulfilment of life and destiny. God showcases the dedicated to the world. This was what we saw in the lives of Joseph, Job, Daniel, Peter, Paul, etc. No one can be relevant in life without being dedicated to God. Therefore, it is very important to look at the subject of dedication.
Previously, we saw that dedication means being sold out to God, the willingness to go all the way with God and walking with God.
Now, another meaning of dedication is, deadly commitment to God. The question is, what is the implication of being deadly committed to God?
It is being dead to the pleasures of the world
To be deadly committed to God means to be dead to the pleasures of the world; it is to be committed to God even till death. It is likened to the way a marital vow is exchanged between intending couple on their wedding day. The couple normally confess that they would love each other in all situations until death do them part. This is how a dedicated person is ready to go all the way with God. A dedicated person does not turn back from following God no matter what seems not to be working in his life temporarily.
When you are deadly committed to God, you are dead to the world (Galatians 6:14); what the world holds important means nothing to you if it does not mean anything to God. To be deadly committed to God is to be dead to pleasure, the flesh and human opinion.
Remember this: A dedicated person does not turn back from following God no matter what seems not to be working in his life temporarily.
Assignments:
Make up your mind to serve God and Him alone if you are yet to do so.
Be dead to the pleasures of the world and alive in Christ Jesus.
Prayer: O Lord, I ask that You give me the grace to follow You at all cost; help me to be dead to the pleasures of the world but alive in You, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Absolute Trust In God [DCLM Daily Manna 21 January 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Isaiah 36:1-10 (KJV)
Key Verse: “Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him” (Isaiah 36:6).
MESSAGE:
The foolishness of trusting in man becomes real and pronounced these days as many more people are being disappointed, betrayed and jilted especially in times of difficulty, trails and challenges of life. The Lord says, “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!” (Isaiah 31:1).
Sennacherib of Assyria was taunting Judah and Hezekiah for trusting in Egypt. Rabshakeh, the ambassador to the proud monarch came with a message of threat to further intimidate Hezekiah and the people of Judah for the step they had taken to ask help from Egypt.
None should think that his situation is so bad that there is no hope from God. Believers must pray in faith and expect miraculous intervention of God in every challenging situation of life instead of putting their trust in man. Trials, threats, hatred and persecution from seemingly higher power will fade away when God is trusted and allowed to take charge of the situation. Christians should not organise their lives around human promises, advice or support; instead, they should reflect on God’s unchanging promises.
Thought For The Day: They that trust in God will never be ashamed.

Open Heaven 21 January 2019 Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Qualified By Grace
Topic: Qualified By Grace (Open Heaven 21 January 2019)
Memorise: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”- Ephesians 2:8
Read: Ephesians 2:8-10 (KJV)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Bible in One Year: Mark 12-13, Isaiah 19:16-20:6
Open Heaven 21 January 2019 Monday MESSAGE:
For you to truly appreciate what grace is, you need to see it as the love of God clouded in mystery. Throughout the Bible, those who encountered God’s grace were blessed and favoured, and they could hardly explain what justified the favour they received. One of those who enjoyed God’s grace declared in 1 Chronicles 17:16b:
“Who am I, O LORD God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?”
The good news is that God’s grace is made abundantly available to all those who desire to be saved and blessed today. Titus 2:11-12 says:
“11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;”
God’s grace is embodied in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. To access this grace, you must accept Christ as “God manifested in flesh”, and believe in the sufficiency of His finished work at Calvary to wash away your past and give you a bright new future. Doing so will open the door for you to escape the imminent judgement that will be poured out on this sinful world, just as Noah escaped the flood that brought God’s judgement on the people of his time. The secret to Noah’s salvation from the great deluge is revealed to us in Genesis 6:7-8 as God’s grace:
“7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.”
God’s grace for salvation through Christ is such a difficult concept for religious people to comprehend. They fail to understand it because they think the basis of divine acceptance is their own personal efforts. The truth is simply this: salvation is by grace, and this grace is available only through Christ. Are you a religious person reading this devotional out of curiosity? You will be mightily and eternally blessed if you embrace the grace of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God. Nevertheless, we must keep in mind that grace does not indulge the beneficiary in sin or lawlessness; rather, it gives spiritual power to help us live according to the acceptable standards of our holy God. You can only live acceptably before God through grace. Through this same grace, you will receive help to do God’s will, and when you close your eyes in death, you will safely arrive in the bliss of heaven. Are you a partaker of God’s grace?
Open Heaven 21 January 2019 Monday Action Point:
Stop struggling with your sins today. Hand them over to Jesus who will give you the grace to live above them.
Open Heaven 21 January 2019 Monday Hymn 6: Have You Been to Jesus for the Cleansing Pow’r
1 Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing pow’r?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Are you fully trusting in His grace this hour?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Chorus:
Are you washed in the blood,
In the soul-cleansing blood of the Lamb?
Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
2 Are you walking daily by the Saviour’s side?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Do you rest each moment in the Crucified?
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
3 When the Bridegroom cometh will your robes be white!
Are you washed in the blood of the Lamb?
Will your soul be ready for His presence bright,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb?
4 Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,
And be washed in the blood of the Lamb;
There’s a fountain flowing for the soul unclean,
O be washed in the blood of the Lamb.

Since around 1558, sitting in both Houses starts with prayers, usually read by the Speaker’s chaplain (currently Rev Rose Hudson-Wilkins) in the House of Commons and by one of the Bishops in the House of Lords.
Attendance is voluntary but often MPs will often come in beforehand to place ‘prayer cards’ in front of a particular seat so they can secure it for a spot during a debate later in the day.
On Tuesday though, Conservative MP Crispin Blunt called for the practice of prayers to be abolished by putting down an Early Day Motion claiming that parliamentary prayers are “not compatible with a society which respects the principle of freedom of and from religion”.
On Thursday, the Labour MP for Leicester East, Keith Vaz made suggestions to Crispin Blunt’s motion and in doing so re-wrote it to say exactly the opposite.
The original motion read: “That this House recognises that religious worship should not play any part in the formal business of the House of Commons; believes that parliamentary meetings should be conducted in a manner equally welcoming to all attendees, irrespective of their personal beliefs; further believes that Parliamentary Prayers are not compatible with a society which respects the principle of freedom of and from religion; urges that prayers should not form part of the official business of Parliament; and calls on the Procedure Committee…
The 40 year-old wrote on Instagram about how his son, Roman, expressed his honesty about church attendance: “my son recently told me ‘dad, I don’t feel like going to church. We are there ALL THE TIME.’ It was very cute and sincere and I was able to tell him what apparently many of us adults still need to hear: feelings are great. They are important. But they are not the dominant factor in how we live our lives!”
The preacher went on to explain why he thinks feelings are a bad factor to base decisions on.
“If our feelings match our convictions? Fantastic. I’ve just found that it’s often that is the exception, not the norm. In fact, most of the incredible things God calls us to do? Do not come with an accompanying ‘good vibe’. Loving your enemy, does not always feel good. Sacrificial giving, does not always feel good. Forgiving people who hurt you, almost NEVER ‘feels right’. Going to church, doesn’t always feel good! But these things are still RIGHT.
“When that day comes, when your feelings rage against your conviction, remember how blessed we are to control our feelings, rather than being controlled by them. It’s worth it every time! Roman randomly asked me unprompted to ‘say hi to the church’ this past Sunday. So he did. He said ‘dad i didn’t really feel like it, but I’m glad I did, I think I helped people.’ He was right! ‘In my convictions’ is where I…
Fast Facts: The Journey Church relocated to a shopping center after meeting for eight years at a hotel conference room. The church is, strangely enough, located between a bar on one side and an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting room on the other. Pastor Bruce his leading the church to pray for those who would call the church home but rarely attend. Please pray for this effort. Also pray that The Journey Church may continue to reach out to the several apartment complexes in the surrounding area.

The device was detonated at 8:10pm on Saturday on Bishop Street, leaving a car on fire, and has been called ‘utterly reckless’ by police.
No one was injured and the attack has been condemned by politicians such as the DUP’s leader Arlene Foster and the Mayor John Boyle.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Assistant Chief Constable Mark Hamilton said hundreds of people, including hotel guests and children from a church youth club were evacuated from the area.
“At around 7.55pm last night officers on patrol in Bishop Street spotted a suspicious vehicle and were making checks when, around five minutes later, information was received that a device had been left at the courthouse,” he said.
“We moved immediately to begin evacuating people from nearby buildings including hundreds of hotel guests, 150 people from the Masonic Hall and a large number of children from a church youth club.”
The youth were from the local Catholic church, who posted on Facebook that their services would be cancelled on Sunday morning, saying: “Morning services at St Augustine’s Church and St Columb’s Cathedral have been disrupted as a result of last night’s car bombing in the centre of Londonderry.
“The Bishop Street Within area remains cordoned off while the Police carry out a follow-up operation. The Archdeacon of Derry, Ven. Robert Miller, has invited parishioners of both churches to…
After trailing the idea in 2017, last March, the church announced they would introduce contactless giving in 16,000 churches, Cathedrals and historic sites. It was properly rolled out in September 2018 in London, Manchester, Peterborough and Merseyside.
In a bid to make sure the church kept ahead with the changes to the way people like to pay, the option was provided for one-off givers at tourist sites, instead of collection plates and to pay for events such as baptisms, weddings and booking church halls.
Alison Davie, church secretary at St George’s Church Hub, in Stamford, Lincolnshire, told Premier at the time: “Our parishioners can occasionally find themselves strapped for physical cash, so it’s fantastic to be able to offer an alternative which is quick and convenient.
“We hope this is a step forward for St George’s and many other churches like it, in staying ahead in the modern era.”
In The Sunday Times this week, it was revealed that giving to the Church of England has nearly doubled since the innovation came in, with £875 more being given per 500 parishioners.
The technology company SumUp, who provided the card readers, reported that 175 more donations can be made to a church during a service of 500 people than could before.
It’s been enough work trying to get electric guitars and drums into #church, let alone #contactless payment.
The UK religious broadcasting channel is based in Plymouth but reaches audiences in Israel, India and America with coverage of festivals like Soul Survivor and preaching by speakers from a variety of church backgrounds.
In 2013, GOD TV secured a 25-year lease on the old cinema building but on Saturday they announced they were pulling out of the plans.
They had permission form the council to spend £7 million turning it into a state-of-the-art events hub called the ‘Revival Prayer Centre’.
The church, which started in 1995, said they would raise the funds to transform the former Millennium nightclub on Union Street in the city into a conference centre
The organisation now say they are pulling out because of costs, something a blog cast scepticism on back in 2015.
The author wrote: “It’s not unheard of for professing Christians to donate money to a “church-building fund” for years, even decades, and the building still isn’t paid off and the project never comes to fruition.”
The channel told local paper, the Plymouth Herald, in 2016 that God would “open the right doors and provide the finances to complete this monumental project, in His time frame”.
This video from 2015 shows what they intended the conference centre to look like:
However, in a statement this week, CEO Ward Simpson said: “We had high hopes…
