Sanctification (Part 2) by Pastor David Ibiyeomie

Topic: Sanctification

Sanctification is a process by which a Christian believer is made holy through the help of the Holy Spirit. It is the importation of divine grace whereby we possess the nature of God and are made holy to live a pure life. It is the core of Christianity; the master key to fulfillment in life. It is sanctification that enhances beauty, and beauty attracts glorification.

Romans 6:14 (KJV) For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Sanctification gives you victory over sin and guarantees answers to prayers; it is the bridge between your prayers and the answers. Saying ‘NO’ to sin is simply a process of grace by which a believer is separated from sin, becomes dedicated to God’s righteousness and is set apart for a sacred purpose. Sanctification strengthens your intimacy with God.

2 Corinthians 6:17 (KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

Nothing hinders God’s blessings like sin. It takes sanctification to enjoy beauty and the blessings God has in stock for us. For God to perform wonder, you must sanctify yourself.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Man has a role to play art which involves separating yourself from sin and dedicating it to God. This is very important if you are on God’s own side.

2 Timothy 2:19-21 (KJV) Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Until you purge yourself, you cannot be sanctified. Asking God for blessing when you are not sanctified is like pouring water into a basket. In sanctification, you yield yourself to obey the Lord’s instruction which helps you to live healthier, holier, happier and a productive Christian life.

1 Thessalonians 4:7 (KJV) For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

Accepting the responsibility to live a holy life secures your destiny. God’s part is ever ready and settled to help us. God will do His part when you do your part; He will never fail.

God bless you

MFM Daily Devotional 20 January 2019 – Strong Man

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 20 January 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Strong Man

TOPIC: Strong Man (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 20 January 2019)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 6:9-12

Bible In One Year: Genesis 49-50; Matthew 13:31-58

MEMORY VERSE: “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;” – 1 Peter 2:11

The MESSAGE:

It is a pity that Christians suffer needless pains and undergo ordeals that are not supposed to be their lot. Spiritual laziness is at the root of these unfortunate challenge many Christians face. It is terrible to know what to do but refuse to do it. Some Christians get the prompting of the Holy Spirit to fast in order to terminate the problem in their lives and defeat the strongman assigned against them, but they are too lazy to fast.

Laziness entails lack of will power to do what will give your desired solution (victory, success, progress, blessing, etc.). Many had gone for counselling and the pastor told them, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, to do three days vigil and pray specific prayers that should provoke heaven’s intervention in their affair. Such people did one day and abandoned the exercise. Later, they blamed God and the pastor for their woes. Spiritual laziness is the bane of many Christians. Though God has many wonderful promises for His children, there are parts for His children to play in actualising and appropriating those promises. It is the believer’s responsibility to have and exercise faith in God’s promises. He needs to study his Bible to familiarise himself with those promises, then believe them, confess them and claim them. If he is too lazy to do all these (as many Christians are today), his life will not reflect the glory of God and the abundant life the Lord promised as it ought to.

Beloved, examine yourself today. Are you spiritually lazy? What are the symptoms of spiritual laziness? Let us examine some of them. One of the symptom of spiritual laziness is the neglect of personal devotions and time spent in prayer. Spiritual laziness has set in whenever you begin to skip your Quite Time, either deliberately or due to forgetfulness. Spiritual laziness has crept in when you don’t look forward to that time alone with God any longer and when fasting and prayer have become great burden to you. Do you spend quality time in prayer with God or you just do it hurriedly? Spiritual laziness takes away the power to tarry before the Lord in prayer and intercession from people who are undiscerning. Moses fasted for forty days and forty nights. Jesus did for the same period. They both got awesome rewards: lives and ministries that were phenomenal. Elijah and Daniel too engaged in marathon fast. Their lives and ministries were glorious.

The spiritually lazy believer will ignore opportunities to share the gospel and win souls for Christ. Spiritual laziness will birth powerlessness and spiritual drought. It will also turn many who should be champions on fire for God to preys and casualties in the battlefield of life. Beloved, if we must populate heaven and depopulate hell as well as make the kingdom of the world that of God and His Christ, we must kick spiritual laziness out of our lives.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
IF YOU ARE TOO LAZY TO PLOW, DON’ T EXPECT A HARVEST.

PROPHETIC WORD:
I decree upon your life, that your mouth shall not become your source of ruin.

TREM Devotional 20 January 2019 – Our Hope Is In God

Topic: Our Hope Is In God [TREM Devotional 20 January 2019]

“I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.”Psalm 16:8 KJV

Today, everywhere you turn, nothing gives hope at all. The newspaper doesn’t give hope. The television and the billboards don’t give hope either. But as children of God, our hope is in the Lord. That is why we can never be moved. Somebody said: “I don’t know why the devil is after me.” The promises of God that you have is the reason the devil is trying to stop you. If he doesn’t see anything good in you, would he want to stop you? No, he wouldn’t. But he cannot succeed because God is at your right hand. No matter the contradiction or the giants before you, put your hope in God.

The twelve spies that went to spy the Promised Land saw giants. But they first saw grapes. And they began to wonder: “Why are giants there?” The giants were there for the big grapes too! What they were looking for is what the giants were also looking for. They saw how good the land was and the big grapes and decided to settle there. But the good news is that before God sent you to get the grapes; He had already equipped you to get there. So, you don’t have to be overwhelmed by the giants. Stop looking at the giants, you are a grape eater. Get them out of the way because you have authority over them.

Whatever is a deficit in your life, from this moment forward, let it come to an end in the name of Jesus. I release abundance into your life. I release surplus into your life. I declare by the authority and mandate from heaven that your star will shine. The days of waiting on other peoples’ testimony are over. I declare that no matter what the devil thinks he has done, it is your turn to testify. The delay and postponement that have been packaged for you are over.

DCLM Daily Manna 20 January 2019 – His Sacred Book

Topic: His Sacred Book [DCLM Daily Manna 20 January 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Isaiah 34:11-17 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them(Isaiah 34:16).

MESSAGE:

Talks about God’s judgment are all too familiar, yet very few people take this seriously to heart. The vast majority hold a very wrong perception of God as One who is permissive and kind, who will wink at sin and soft glove unrighteousness. This view is wrong because the God who shows mercy and kindness is also the same who is unflagging in the administration of judgment against the wicked.

The certainty of judgment as a result of disobedience to God’s word is clearly revealed in the Scriptures. Today’s text describes the judgments which are the just punishment God would inflict upon the land because of their many sins. God, in His infinite love, always sends warning before pouring His wrath upon rebellious people.

The Bible, also referred to as “the book of the LORD” is God’s revelation to man. The picture of life-past, present and future is revealed in the Scriptures. Book written by men project the thoughts of man’s finite mind but the Bible has the solution to all problems. Sir Waiter Scott once said: ‘Happy is he to whom God has given grace to read to fear and to obey its content. And better had they never been born who read to doubt or read to scorn.’ No man’s education is complete if he does not know the Bible. No believer can live the Christian life to the full without an adequate grasp of the Bible.

The Bible, being the inspired word of God, has divine authority that is both final and timeless. It is the final authority and the last court of appeal in all matters pertaining to the Christian. Read it every day, meditate on its precepts, desire it more than your necessary food, love it more than gold, keep it continually and obey it explicitly.

Thought For The Day: A life without the Bible is like a stream without water.

Our Daily Bread 20 January 2019 Devotional – Creation’s Song

Topic: Creation’s Song [Our Daily Bread 20 January 2019 Devotional]

Bible in a Year: Exodus 1–3; Matthew 14:1–21

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. – Psalm 19:1

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Psalm 19:1-6

Using acoustic astronomy, scientists can observe and listen to the sounds and pulses of space. They’ve found that stars don’t orbit in silence in the mysterious night sky, but rather generate music. Like humpback whale sounds, the resonance of stars exists at wavelengths or frequencies that may not be heard by the human ear. Yet, the music of stars and whales and other creatures combine to create a symphony that proclaims the greatness of God.

Psalm 19:1–4 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.”

In the New Testament, the apostle Paul reveals that in Jesus “all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible . . . all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16). In response, the natural world’s heights and depths sing to its Maker. May we join creation and sing out the greatness of the One who “with the breadth of his hand marked off the [vast] heavens” (Isaiah 40:12).

Today’s Reflection
How great You are, O God! Open my eyes to see You in creation’s majesty and open my heart to offer the praise You deserve.

Seeds of Destiny 20 January 2019 Devotional – How to Walk with God

Topic: How to Walk with God [Seeds of Destiny 20 January 2019 Devotional]

Scripture: He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? – Micah 6:8

Thought For The Day: To walk with God is to enjoy the fellowship of God.

Our anchor Scripture reveals that walking with God is one of God’s utmost requirements from our lives as His children. A person who walks with God cannot be buried in obscurity. This is because, to walk with God is to walk tall in life; to walk with God is to walk both upright and right-up in life. Therefore, it is very important to know what it means to walk with God.

Yesterday, we saw that walking with God means going in the same direction with God, being in step with Him or ordering one’s steps and moves according to God’s Word. Today, we want to look at further meanings of walking with God:

Walking with God means:
i. Living according to the principles of God’s Word
A Person who walks with God allows God’s Word to guide his steps in all areas of life – business, relationship (choice of friends), ministry, career, etc. People who walk with God live according to the principles of the Word of God while people who do not walk with God live according to the principles of the world.

ii. Keeping the company of God
To walk with God is to keep the company of God; you cannot walk with God without keeping His Company. To walk with God is to spend time with Him.

iii. Enjoying the fellowship of God
To walk with God is to enjoy the fellowship of God. Enoch enjoyed fellowship with God until God took him from the Earth. To walk with God is to enjoy fellowship with Him (Genesis5:24).

Beloved, make up your mind to live according to the principles of God’s Word, keep the company of God and enjoy His fellowship.

Remember this: To walk with God is to enjoy the fellowship of God.

Assignments:

  1. Endeavour to live according to the principles of God’s Word.
  2. Keep the company of God and enjoy His fellowship always.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to keep company with You and to order my life according Your Word, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 20 January 2019 – Believe the Love

Topic: Believe the Love [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 20 January 2019]

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. – 1 John 4:16

One day as I was walking along a highway through a park praying, I asked a simple question, “Lord, what do You want me to tell Your people?” Without a moment’s hesitation, these words came ringing through my spirit and my mind:

Tell them how much I love them.

They were so filled with love and compassion that it defies words to express it. For days afterward all I could think of was 1 John 4:16. “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us.”

We’ve read about God’s love. We’ve heard about it. But I don’t think many of us have really believed it. If we did, it would totally change everything about us and everything around us.

It’s that love that caused Jesus to lay down His life for us and to experience for Himself all the pains and weaknesses we experience. It’s that love that says to us, even when we feel so unworthy, Come to Me and get what you need. Don’t be shy about it. I’ve been there. Come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Think about it. God is in love with you—so in love, He’s given you everything He has! He’s given you all the healing, all the wisdom, all the wealth, all the strength you could ever need.

“But what about my terrible past?”

That’s what His mercy is for! It’s taken care of your past. It’s covered every sin and failure you ever had. All you have to do now is believe and receive His love.

What a shame it is that people suffer at the hands of sickness and disease and every other cursed thing just because they can’t believe the love God has for them. Don’t let that happen to you. Learn to believe the love.

Believe the love God has for you. It’s already been released in the blood of Jesus.

Believe the love. It’s already been released in Jesus’ Name.

Believe the love. It’s already been released in His Word.

Meditate that scripture over and over. Say it to yourself again and again all day, “I believe the love Jesus has for me.” Once it gets down into your heart, you’ll never be the same again.

Andrew Wommack Devotional 20 January 2019 – Spiritual Warfare

Topic: Spiritual Warfare [Andrew Wommack Devotional 20 January 2019]

Matthew 2:16, “Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.”

Text: Matthew 2:16-23

Satan was the real motivator of Herod’s actions. Ever since the Lord first prophesied that a man would bruise his head, Satan has been seeking out this “seed” of the woman (Gen. 3:15).

It appears that Satan is able to perceive when the Lord is making a major move in the earth. In the days of Moses, Satan moved Pharaoh to kill all the male children of the Israelite slaves, and here he motivates Herod to kill all the male children in Bethlehem. No doubt he was seeking to eliminate this “seed” who was going to bruise his head.

Once again, we see children being slaughtered today. This time it’s through abortion. Our youth are also being attacked in unprecedented ways. Is it possible that Satan thinks this is the generation that is to bring in the second return of the Lord? Is he, in desperation, trying to stay off his doom by destroying this generation?

We need to have enough spiritual perception to recognize that just as in the days of Moses and Jesus, this slaughter of the innocent children today is an indication of an even more important struggle in the spiritual realm. We might be the generation that sees the Lord come back. Praise the Lord!

Billy Graham Devotional 20 January 2019 – The Real You

Topic: The Real You [Billy Graham Devotional 20 January 2019]

For he knoweth our frame . . . — Psalm 103:14

It is significant that our first astronauts, while being trained for their moon flights, were required to give twenty answers to the query, “Who are you?” Take the same test yourself. When you have made your list and run out of things to add, ask yourself if you have truly answered. Do you really know who you are? Scientists agree that our desperate search leads all humans to seek heroes and to imitate others, to “paste bits and pieces of other people on ourselves.” We make love as some actor would. We play golf in the style of Jack Nicklaus. Part of this process is natural, for we learn by imitating others. The tragedy is that the person we assemble is not genuine. “Who am I?” you cry as you roam the world looking for yourself. Consider this: there are three of you. There is the person you think you are. There is the person others think you are. There is the person God knows you are and can be through Christ.

Prayer for the day: Lord, help me to break through the façade and know myself as You do.
