For most it would bring back terrible memories of the scene from Jaws when the immortal line ‘you’re going to need a bigger boat’ was uttered.
But when a team of divers spotted the largest great white shark on the planet they only hesitated to grab their cameras before they jumped into the sea.
The enormous predator named Deep Blue is up to 50 years old, weights 2.5 tons and measures 20ft long.
It was drawn to the water around Hawaii for what one diver described as an ‘all you can eat buffet’ – to feed on a dead sperm whale.
Deep Blue was last spotted in Mexico in 2013 where it was fitted with a tracker which is how divers were able to identify it this time.
Conservation photographer Juan Oliphant was one of the divers who took the plunge along with with marine biologist Ocean Ramsey
Ocean Ramsey swimming with Deep Blue in photos shot by Juan Oliphant after it was spotted in the water off Oahu on Sunday by Kimberly Jeffries. Deep Blue became an icon several years ago during Shark Week on the Discovery Channel, through her remarkable size and age. She is 20 feet long and thought to be 50 years old. Pictures show the pair getting remarkably close to the deadly animal

It’s likely that Deep Blue grew so big simply because of her age. Before being spotted in Hawaii, the great white was caught on video in July 2018 near Guadalupe Island, off the west coast of Mexico. It was spotted feeding on the carcass of a whale

Divers could identify her as ‘Deep Blue’ thanks to a tag she was implanted with when she appeared off the coast of Mexico two decades ago.

RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 20 January 2019 Lesson 21 – Successful Parenting
TOPIC: Successful Parenting
OPENING PRAYER: Father, help parents to bring up their children in the fear of God. (Scroll down for RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL 20 JANUARY 2019 HYMN)
MEMORY VERSE: “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” – Ephesians 6:4 (scroll down for RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL 20 JANUARY 2019 HYMN)
BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Samuel 2:12-17, 29-30 KJV (RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 20 January 2019)
1 Samuel 2:12-17:
12 Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial; they knew not the LORD.
13 And the priests’ custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest’s servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;
14 And he struck it into the pan, or kettle, or caldron, or pot; all that the fleshhook brought up the priest took for himself. So they did in Shiloh unto all the Israelites that came thither.
15 Also before they burnt the fat, the priest’s servant came, and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast for the priest; for he will not have sodden flesh of thee, but raw.
16 And if any man said unto him, Let them not fail to burn the fat presently, and then take as much as thy soul desireth; then he would answer him, Nay; but thou shalt give it me now: and if not, I will take it by force.
17 Wherefore the sin of the young men was very great before the LORD: for men abhorred the offering of the LORD.
1 Samuel 2:29-30:
29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
30 Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

Time Management by Pastor David Ibiyeomie
Time Management by Pastor David Ibiyeomie
Topic: Time Management
God has given every one the time to be the best he/she is created to be. How you utilize your time determines how far you will go in life. Stop spending time and start investing it. Time spenders are time wasters. Lack of time management is the reason many are not succeeding in life. Time is the most valuable asset in the school of success.
Proverbs 24:-33-34 (KJV) -Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
People who make life count are those who invest their time.
Psalms 90:12 (KJV) So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Our days are numbered. And the Psalmist is praying to God, “Teach me to number it. Make me to use it judiciously”
Friend, you have only one life to live and the way you use it determines how far you will go. If you live your life carelessly, you will pay for it because it is appointed unto man once to die and after that, comes judgement day. You must be determined to be useful.
The secret of every man’s success is in his daily routine. The secret of your great future is hidden in your daily routine. What you make out of each day determines how far you go in life. Until you have value for time, you will not be valued on the earth. Money wasted can be recovered but time wasted can never be recovered.
Also Read: Be Self Disciplined (2) by David Ibiyeomie
Please, start planning your life! Stop wasting your time. Take time to plan your life. Do not let any day pass without any remarkable accomplishment that you can pinpoint. Each day, each month, make sure there is something you have accomplished that is beneficial in your journey to success.
Daniel 2:16-19 (KJV) Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions: That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Daniel was faced with a challenge that was to cost him his life. He knew that time was crucial to his obtaining the answer the king required of him. As when he went in and gave attention to the issue, he got the answer.
Time! Very crucial to success. It is time to begin to manage yours well. It is time you began to utilize your time very well. Time is for you to improve on your life, do not waste it. Change your attitude towards success. Start utilizing time. You must no longer be numbered amongst those who have no respect for time.
If your dream is greatness, start planning your life. Wake up every morning and plan your day. Write down your plan for the day. Do not just stumble through the day, not knowing exactly what to do. You will simply end up doing whatsoever you like. Anybody can drag you along to some unprofitable venture. That cannot happen if you already mapped out a plan for the day. You will be mindful of your time, refusing to be distracted from your plan. If you fail to plan, you have already planned to fail. Maybe you cannot write; then make a mental note of what you have to do in the day. But by all means, plan your life.
Ephesians 5:16 (KJV) Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Receive now the grace to be a time investor in the name of Jesus! You are destined for super success. The glory of the Lord shall be revealed in your life! Every breakdown in your life is right now converted to a breakthrough! You will manage your time properly from now on in Jesus mighty name- Amen!
God bless you

TREM Devotional 18 January 2019 – Use Your Mouth Profitably
Topic: Use Your Mouth Profitably [TREM Devotional 18 January 2019]
“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.” Mark 11:23 KJV
Using your mouth profitably is very crucial in obtaining victory over anything that upsets you. There is power in the word you speak. Therefore, learn to use your mouth to carve your life. Use your mouth to chart the cause of your life. Use your mouth profitably. Declare what God says concerning whatever the devil is doing. Look at him eyeball to eyeball and declare it. Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat the fruit thereof.
How do you use your mouth? Jesus looked at that fig tree and spoke. He didn’t pray! He only opened His mouth and said “No man eat the fruit of thee hereafter for ever”(Mark 11:14 KJV). And that was it! He kept going as if nothing happened. And the Bible says that after He declared it the tree dried up from the root. Nobody saw the leaves dry up but something had already taken place under. When you declare the Word of God with faith and confidence, I tell you that it is just a matter of time. It will shock you what happens afterwards.
Stop complaining. God didn’t say complain! He said to speak! Complaining is not speaking. He said to speak to the mountain. ‘If thou shall believe and not doubt in your heart you shall have whatsoever you say.’ When last did you speak about that raging storm in your life? Stop complaining and start speaking. That is what is called profitable use of your mouth, knowing that death and life are inside your mouth. You can bless with it. You can also curse with it. Rise up and speak to your situation. Speak to your body. Speak to your womb. Speak to your job and to your business.

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 18 January 2019 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – The End of a Betrayer
TOPIC: The End of a Betrayer (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 18 January 2019)
FIRE SCRIPTURE: Mark 14:17-20
Bible In One Year: Genesis 43-45; Matthew 12:24-50
MEMORY VERSE: “For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.” – Acts 1:20
The MESSAGE:
Jesus pronounced woe on Judas. Judas died a miserable death (he committed suicide). Judas lost his enviable position and status as a disciple. He lost a glorious future as an apostle. He also lost heaven and earned the appellation ‘child of perdition’. Similarly, he wasted a golden opportunity and his destiny. He left a bad legacy and died a bad example.
According to the Gospel of Matthew, Judas Iscariot was a disciple of Jesus. Before the Last Supper, Judas went to the chief priests and agreed to hand over Jesus in exchange for 30 silver coins. Jesus was then arrested in Gethsamene, where Judas revealed Jesus’ identity to the soldiers by giving Him a kiss. Little wonder that Judas had a miserable end. After Jesus had been arrested and crucified, he realised his mistake and tried to return the money he had collected. It was too late. His companions called the money Judas brought back ‘blood money’ and rejected it. Judas went and committed suicide. We have several lessons to learn from Judas’ betrayal of Jesus.
As Christians, we are expected to portray Christ character in every way. Though Judas was a disciple of Jesus, he obviously was not like His Master in any way. His thoughts, speech and action were often at cross purposes with Jesus’. The Bible records that Jesus had to connect and rebuke Judas. The only documented dialogue between Jesus and Judas involves being rebuked by Jesus after his greed-motivated remark to Mary (John 12:1-18). When you put the life of Judas side by side with those of other disciples, you will see a sharp contrast. Judas did not experience the Upper Room Pentecostal outpouring of power. God would not waste His resources on an ungodly fellow like Judas who chose to be a child of perdition. He took his own life and ended shamefully. The other disciples went on to receive power from on high and became world changers for Christ.
Beloved, God’s desire is to give you a future and a hope (a glorious end). His word is His bond. Don’t let the devil deceive and short-change you. Judas fell for the devil’s lies and deceit. His doorway to Judas’ life was money. He might want to use any other weapon against you. Be sober and vigilant. Smite him and he flee from you. Judas’ losses were colossal. Be wise!
MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
BETRAY A FRIEND AND YOU WILL OFTEN FIND YOU HAVE RUINED YOURSELF.
PROPHETIC WORD:
Your life will not disappoint God. It will bring honour and glory to Him.

Our Daily Bread 18 January 2019 Devotional – The Beauty of Love
Topic: The Beauty of Love [Our Daily Bread 18 January 2019 Devotional]
Bible in a Year: Genesis 46–48; Matthew 13:1–30
May your fountain be blessed. – Proverbs 5:18
Today’s Scripture & Insight: Proverbs 5:1-23
The “Jarabe Tapatío,” also known as the Mexican hat dance, celebrates romance. During this upbeat dance, the man places his sombrero on the ground. At the very end, the woman grabs the hat and both hide behind it to seal their romance with a kiss.
This dance reminds me of the importance of faithfulness in marriage. In Proverbs 5, after talking about the high cost of immorality, we read that marriage is exclusive. “Drink water from your own cistern, running water from your own well” (v. 15). Even with ten couples dancing the Jarabe on stage, each person focuses on his or her partner. We can rejoice in a deep and undivided commitment to our spouse (v. 18).
Our romance is also being observed. The dancers, while they are enjoying their partner, know someone is watching. In the same way, we read, “For your ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all your paths” (v. 21). God wants to protect our marriages, so He’s constantly watching us. May we please Him through the loyalty we show to each other.
Just like in the Jarabe there is a rhythm to follow in life. When we keep the beat of our Creator by being faithful to Him—whether we are married or unmarried—we find blessings and joy.
Today’s Reflection
Dear Lord, You know all my ways. Help me to honor You in my relationships with others.

Seeds of Destiny 18 January 2019 Devotional – The Key to Distinction in Life and Destiny
Topic: The Key to Distinction in Life and Destiny [Seeds of Destiny 18 January 2019 Devotional]
Scripture: And they shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him. Malachi 3:17.
Thought For The Day: Anything you are privileged to do, do it well in order not to end in mockery.
Sometime ago, a relative of mine who came to church saw the way I was dancing before the Lord when the praise session was going on. Then after the service, he told me, ‘What you are doing now for God and enjoying yourself is what we wasted our lives doing for the devil in disco and party dance many years ago and gained nothing.’
Our father in the Lord, Bishop David Oyedepo was dedicated to God while in school and God differentiated him from others. One day, his teacher told him, ‘David, you are going too extreme with your Christianity; do you realise that you are a student?’ And he replied the man, ‘Serving God is the first occupation of my life. I am a full time Christian and a part time student’. This means, being a Christian was more important to him than being a student. One day, he wrote an examination and they marked his papers, he scored one hundred and twenty percent. His answer was so excellent that the teacher forgot that the maximum mark should be one hundred percent.
Beloved, dedication is key to distinction; anything you are privileged to do, please do it well in order not to end in mockery.
Remember this: Anything you are privileged to do, do it well in order not to end in a mockery.

DCLM Daily Manna 18 January 2019 – In Your Interest
Topic: In Your Interest [DCLM Daily Manna 18 January 2019 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]
Text: Proverbs 9:11-18 (KJV)
Key Verse: “If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it” (Proverbs 9:12).
MESSAGE:
It is the punishment placed on offenders of our laws that help to abate, to a great extent, the spate of crime and civil disorders in our society. Generally speaking, a sinner deceives himself by thinking that obeying God’s word or respecting civil government is doing favour to God or to society. He counts it a loss to himself not to indulge in fleshly sin. He takes sin as sport sometimes, thinking he can have the pleasure of sin and avoid the consequences.
Man is the ultimate sufferer of the products of his sin. In fact, the consequences of his sin may truly affect fellow men, but the greater effects are reaped by him. Living out the Word for others to see may bring about changes in the lives of others, but in the final analysis, the doer reaps the blessing. In the same vein, if we continue to live in sin, we behave unwisely and will reap sickness, and eternal death but righteousness and holy living will prolong our lives and help us stand before the Son of man.
Sin attracts punishment and ruin, but holiness and virtuous living have the promise of life and health. Without any doubt, it is in the best interest of man to stop sinning and live a life that is glorifying God.
Sin is enticing and its effects are devastating. One sin leads to another until the sinner is almost inextricably entwined. Consider the consequences of sin today and deliver your soul like a deer escaping the hunter’s hound. Wisdom demands that you confess your sin now and surrender your life to Jesus. He will have mercy on you.
Thought For The Day: It is wisdom to shun sin like the proverbial plague.
