Most Republicans and Democrats Support Major Abortion Restrictions, Poll Finds
A majority of Americans, including most Democrats, support tighter restrictions on abortion that are prohibited by Roe v. Wade and companion rulings, according to a new survey.
The poll of 1,066 adults found that 75 percent of Americans say abortion should be limited to – at most – the “first three months of pregnancy,” according to a news release. This includes 92 percent of Republicans, 78 percent of independents and 60 percent of Democrats. Even 61 percent of people who identify as pro-choice want abortion to be limited to the first trimester.
The Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions legalized abortion through all nine months of the pregnancy.
The survey was conducted Jan. 8-10 by Marist and sponsored by the Knights of Columbus.
“As in past years, this poll shows that the pro-choice label on the abortion issue is simply insufficient,” said Carl Anderson of the Knights of Columbus. “The majority of Americans — in both parties — support legal restrictions on abortion.”
The survey also found that 54 percent of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion in the U.S., and 75 percent oppose taxpayer funding of abortion abroad.

Former Porn Star Turned Christian Counselor Shares How God Changed Her Life
Crystal DiGregorio is sharing a message of grace and forgiveness by telling her story of how she went from a porn star to a Christian counselor.
DiGregorio spent many years as a famed porn star, but one Easter Sunday at a church service she encountered God and it changed her life. DiGregorio knelt down at the altar before God and asked him to save her from an abusive relationship and asked God into her heart.

DiGregorio said as soon as she got up, she never looked back. In an interview with CBN News the 34-year-old mother of three told the outlet that she walked away from the toxic relationship and God began to change her “from the inside out.”
In an interview with Fox News she revealed that after she surrendered her life to God, He began to stir on her heart and open her eyes to the world and industry around her. She told Fox, “I noticed how much people were being hurt by the porn industry and I never really thought of it before that.”

Contrary to common belief, satisfaction in life is not a matter of how much you have. Our Lord Jesus Christ said in Luke 12:15:
“…Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
In other words, abundant possessions do not guarantee joy, peace and fulfilment in life. The Lord is asking you today, “Are you divinely satisfied? What is your satisfaction in life dependent on?” The reason why a lot of people are never satisfied in life is due to the lack of contentment. In today’s memory verse, the Holy Spirit instructs us to be content with having food and clothing. This is a command and not a piece of advice. To measure up to this heavenly standard, we must endeavour to discover what true blessing is and the source of it. Concerning true blessing, Proverbs 10:22 says:
“The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.”
True blessings from the Lord have three characteristics: they bring riches in all ramifications, they are devoid of sorrow and are accompanied with contentment.
Irrespective of what a man has, if he is not content, he will restlessly pursue satisfaction throughout his life time. The Almighty God, in whose image we were created, is a great example to us on contentment. Genesis 1:31-2:22 says:
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.”
From the scripture above, we learn that God saw everything that He had made as being very good. In other words, God was content with what He had achieved in six days. This divine satisfaction made Him take a rest on the seventh day! We know that God continued His work after He rested on the seventh day because Jesus Christ said in John 5:17b:
“My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.”
The secret behind God resting on the seventh day even though He still had more work to do is not far-fetched: God was content with His achievements. This is why the Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:6:
“But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
This verse shows that one may be godly but not have contentment. Beloved, when we become obsessed with work because we want to acquire more wealth to the detriment of our worship of God and even to the point of harming our body system, then we have fallen into the snare of the devil described in 1 Timothy 6:9. Are you divinely satisfied?

Hindu Version of Feng Shui Leads to Demolition of Church Building in Southern India
HYDERABAD, India, January 17, 2019 (Morning Star News) – Hard-line Hindus on Jan. 9 tore down a church building in southern India because it was built on the west side of a village, which they said violated Hindu principles of placement and positioning, sources said.
The Vastu Shastra architectural and planning principles, a Hindu version of Feng Shui, were said to oppose the construction late last year of the church building in Narnepadu village, Muppalla Mandal, Guntur District, in Andhra Pradesh state. Saying the building’s placement opposed Hindu beliefs, the village president and her husband called a meeting of Hindus and Christians on Jan. 9.
“That morning the village president’s husband, also a local political leader, telephoned church pastor Koteswara Rao and asked him to be present at the meeting to discuss the matter, but Rao declined the invite as he was pre-occupied with his tasks for the day and said that he can be available the following day,” a Narnepadu-based pastor, Konda Lazarus, told Morning Star News. “This annoyed the leader, and he ordered the tribal men to demolish the church.”

YouTube Apologizes after Removing Investigative Video about a Planned Parenthood Worker Aiding Sex-Traffickers
YouTube has apologized to pro-life group Live Action after the platform removed an investigative video on Planned Parenthood.
According to CBN News, YouTube removed a video posted by Live Action that showed a Planned Parenthood employee giving advice to two people posed as a “pimp” and a “prostitute” on how and where to get sex trafficked minors abortions.
YouTube removed the video and sent Lila Rose, Live Action’s president, an email claiming that the video violated the platform’s community standards.
Rose took to Twitter to voice her frustration with YouTube writing, “YouTube just removed one of our investigative videos exposing Planned Parenthood aiding and abetting the sex trafficking of young girl, saying it violated ‘Community Guidelines.’”

Liberty University CIO Implicated in Trump Poll-Rigging According to WSJ
Michael Cohen, former lawyer to President Trump, allegedly hired an IT firm owned by Liberty University’s Chief Information Officer John Gauger to tip online polls ahead of the 2016 election in President Trump’s favor, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Liberty University is a large Evangelical Christian college whose current president Jerry Falwell, Jr. is an outspoken supporter of President Trump.
In a report released Thursday, the Wall Street Journal revealed that Cohen had promised to pay Gauger’s company, RedFintch Solutions, $50,000 and “lucrative work” with Trump on his presidential campaign if they would alter online polls on CNBC and the Drudge Report. Gauger was also asked to create a twitter account called @WomenForCohen with hopes that it would paint the now convicted felon as a “strong, pit bull, sex symbol.”
Gauger revealed to the Wall Street Journal that in 2014, he was asked to write a code that would repeatedly vote for Mr. Trump in a CNBC online poll which sought to rank the top business leaders in America. The WSJ reports that Gauger was unsuccessful in even getting Trump into the top 100 candidates. A year later, Cohen is said to have asked Gauger to do the same thing with a Drudge Report poll on potential Republican candidates heading into the 2016 election. President Trump ranked fifth.
In his proclamation on Religious Freedom Day on Wednesday, he called upon all Americans to take part in events and activities “that remind us of our shared heritage of religious liberty and that teach us how to secure this blessing both at home and around the world”.
Religious Freedom Day is celebrated in the United States each year to commemorate the Statute for Religious Freedom enacted by Virginia on 16 January 1786.
The statute was written by Thomas Jefferson to protect religious liberty and inspired the First Amendment in the US Constitution which was written a few years later.
“Unfortunately, the fundamental human right to religious freedom is under attack,” said Trump in the proclamation.
“Efforts to circumscribe religious freedom, or to separate it from adjoining civil liberties, like property rights or free speech are on the rise.
“Over time, legislative and political attacks on religious freedom have given way to actual violence.”
He recalled last year’s attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in which 11 people were killed.
“Tragically, attacks on people of faith and their houses of worship have increased in frequency in recent years,” Trump continued.
Further afield, Trump said he was committed to furthering religious freedom around the world as he spoke of the “tragic reality” of persecution.
Gosnell Film Soars to No. 1 on Amazon DVD Best Sellers
The movie about abortion doctor Kermit Gosnell won’t release on DVD until February, but it’s already No. 1 on Amazon.com.
Gosnell: The Trial of America’s Biggest Serial Killer(PG-13) is No. 1 on Amazon’s list of DVD Best Sellers and ahead of A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Mary Poppins: 50th Anniversary Special and Halloween (2018) — all of which were in the Top 5 Thursday.
Gosnell is scheduled to release on DVD Feb. 5. It releases on streaming video on demand Jan. 22.
The movie tells the story of the Philadelphia abortion doctor who performed illegal late-term abortions and was arrested and sentenced for his crimes. He delivered live babies and snipped their spinal cords to kill them.
David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress called it “best movie about abortion ever made.”
Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America also applauded the film.
“After watching the Gosnell movie, I’m angry, I’m sad, and I’m more motivated than ever to end abortion. Every American should watch Gosnell,” she said. “If pro-choice, they need to watch it and be able to defend their beliefs. If pro-life, they need to watch it and ask themselves why they aren’t active in ending this atrocity. This movie should be screened on every college campus in our nation.”
The Second Church Estates Commissioner, Caroline Spelman MP, started by reminding the House of Commons on Thursday that Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt invited the Bishop of Truro to conduct an independent review into the persecution of Christians around the world, from which the Rt Rev Philip Mountstephen will produce a report.
He asked the MP for Meriden to ensure that the Bishop of Truro will tell members of the House about the findings of his independent review.
Spelman replied: “I’m delighted to give my honourable friend that assurance…40 countries out of the 50 are places where Christians experience very high or extreme levels of persecution and I shall go from this place, Mr. Speaker, to a meeting at the foreign office, with the foreign secretary and the Bishop and I will make that request directly to him.”
Sir Desmond Swayne MP inquired about the willingness of the Department for International Development to intervene in persecution.
The Church Commissioner for MPs explained that there was an openness to increasing religious literacy from the foreign office: “We were given assurance by the minister that this would be impressed on officials.”
