“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” Psalm 1:3 KJV

God ordained it ever before you were born that whatever you lay your hands on must succeed. So how dare you accept defeat? Beloved, you are not a failure. Even if you once failed, get up again and keep going. Yes, the enemy would do his work because that is his job. If he doesn’t do his job, then he is no longer the enemy. The Bible says ‘the thief cometh not but to steal, kill and destroy, but I am come that you may have life and have it abundantly.’

The Bible says that the barren shall keep house and be the joyful mother of children. So, don’t factor on the doctor’s report; rather, factor on God’s report. You must begin to factor on who you are in Christ. How dare you join the rest to say that you are cursed? Who would say that you are cursed when God has blessed you? ‘You are blessed’ means anywhere you go even if that place was cursed; because of you, things will begin to change. The Word of God says “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away and all things have become new”. You are a brand-new species of being that has not existed before.

What the devil has against you is your ignorance. You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Meditate on the Word. Eat the Word and digest it. The Word of the Lord says many are the afflictions of the righteous. Therefore, when affliction begins to come, and they are many; just know how it will end. The Lord will deliver you from them all. That means you are coming out! There is nothing the devil can do about it. Let him bring his best shot, you are coming out. Others may not, but you are coming out.

The MESSAGE:

The lap of Delilah was Samson’s undoing. Attraction for Babylonian attires and stealing were Achan’s undoing. The love of money and betrayal were Judas’ undoing. Lying to the Holy Spirit was the undoing of Ananias and Saphira. Each of these people: Samson, Achan, Judas, Ananias and Saphira left bad names and image for their relatives, spouses and children. Little wonder many people would not name their children after these and other infamous characters in the Bible.

Parents, be careful what you do and how you live your life. Many parents made unpardonable errors that put generations yet unborn in their ancestral line in bondage and shame.

We humans have very good sense of history. There are still families today that some other families will say, “My children will never marry from that family”. When the reason for such declaration is sought, you would hear things like, “Their forefathers were thieves, whoremongers, murderers, etc.” Such ancestors have laid a bad platform or foundation for their children. Their sons and daughters will find it difficult to get spouses in their town where their stories are known. Thank God for Christianity and the power of the gospel.

Beloved parent and grandparent, be careful what you do. Remember that the consequence of evil will go beyond the doer and affect generations yet unborn. Similarly, the reward of your good deeds will outlive you and be enjoyed by generations yet unborn in your lineage. Therefore, choose to do good today. Show love to others. Help them and let your report be a good one.

Text: Exodus 4:27-31 (KJV)

Key Verse: “I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me” (Psalm 13:6).

MESSAGE:

It is usually difficult for most people to sing and praise God when they go through difficulties or disappointments in life. But not so with David. At the moment in his life, he sounded utterly exhausted and unable to bear his afflictions anymore. He was hopeless and helpless. It was as if God had abandoned him: He had been silent despite his incessant prayers and petitions. These were the realities surrounding him, David still found a reason to trust God rather than doubt and sink in despair. What really encouraged him to praise God? He remembered God’s mercies and bountiful dealings with him in the past. Remembered that God loved him and he decided to trust in the steadfastness of His love. Though he was yet to see an immediate respite to his sufferings, he knew His love would never fail. This gave him a reason to sing.

Regardless of our circumstances, we must appreciate the fact that God loves us. And because He does, He thinks and cares about our circumstances. Never mind that it may appear He is far away and does not seem to hear your cries. Never mind it may seem the enemy is about overrunning you. Instead, think about the ways He has shown His love to you in times past. Think about your salvation and the numerous mercies and grace you have received in the past. The present won’t to be different because God’s love is steadfast and unchanging.

So, join the Psalmist today to “…sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with (you)”.

Thought For The Day: God’s love for His own will never fail!.

Today’s Scripture & Insight: Hebrews 11:1-6

Lessons on faith can come from unexpected places—like the one I learned from my 110-pound, black Labrador retriever, “Bear.” Bear’s large metal water bowl was located in a corner of the kitchen. Whenever it was empty, he wouldn’t bark or paw at it. Instead, he would lie down quietly beside it and wait. Sometimes he would have to wait several minutes, but Bear had learned to trust that I would eventually walk into the room, see him there, and provide what he needed. His simple faith in me reminded me of my need to place more trust in God.

The Bible tells us that “faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1). The foundation of this confidence and assurance is God Himself, who “rewards those who earnestly seek him” (v. 6). God is faithful to keep His promises to all who believe and come to Him through Jesus.

Sometimes having faith in “what we do not see” isn’t easy. But we can rest in God’s goodness and His loving character, trusting that His wisdom is perfect in all things—even when we have to wait. He is always faithful to do what He says: to save our eternal souls and meet our deepest needs, now and forever.

Today’s Reflection:
Almighty Father, thank You for Your faithfulness to always take care of me. Help me to trust You and to rest in Your perfect love today.

Scripture: Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord’s side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. Exodus 32:26

Thought For The Day: Dedication is keeping the company of God.

It has been confirmed that understanding is key to outstanding existence; a person must have understanding in order to stand out in life. This means, understanding is key to distinction in life. People do not apprehend what they cannot comprehend; people cannot become what they do not understand. So, the understanding of dedication is necessary in order to see the products of dedication.

Now, the question is, what does it mean to be dedicated to God?
Dedication means;
i. Being sold out to God (Genesis 12:1-5)
Being sold out to God is a mark of dedication to Him.

ii. The willingness to go all the way with God (Genesis 12:1-5)
Pressure or prosperity will not make a dedicated person stop on the way in following God.

iii. Walking with God (Genesis 5:24)
Dedication to God is keeping the company of God; it is moving in the same direction with Him.

iv. Deadly commitment to God (Malachi 3:17-18, Exodus 23:25)
This is a situation where a person is literally dead to the things of the world in his commitment to God.

v. Taking sides with God (Exodus 32:26).
While everyone is on the opposite side, a dedicated person is on the same side with God like the Levities.

vi. Living in the reverential fear of God (Ecclesiastes 12:13)
A dedicated person is someone who lives in the reverential fear of God.

Beloved, the decision to be sold out to God, going all the way with God, walking with God, taking sides with God and living in the reverential fear of God is a decision to be dedicated to God.

Remember this: Dedication is keeping the company of God.

Assignments:

1. Make up your mind to walk with God continually.
2. Decide to be addicted to God, His Presence and His purpose on the earth.

Prayer: O Lord, I receive the grace to walk with You always. Help me Lord, to be addicted to Your Presence, in Jesus’ Name.

Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. – Psalm 91:14-15

God is called by many names. He is the Lord our Healer, our Provider, our Banner and our Righteousness. He also promises to be our Deliverer. In this troubled world that may very well be what we need Him to be most often.

But there are many believers who never experience God’s mighty delivering power because, instead of walking closely with Him day by day, they wait until danger strikes to call upon Him. That just doesn’t work. If you want God to rescue you in the bad times, you have to fellowship with Him in the good times. Why? Because God responds to faith. Our faith—not our need—is what causes Him to act on our behalf. And we’ll never be able to develop that kind of faith, that kind of trust and confidence in Him, if we don’t spend enough time with Him to get to know Him.

First John 3:20-22 tells us that we have confidence toward God when we do the things that are pleasing in His sight. If we only serve God halfheartedly, then we will not have confidence in Him to deliver us from trouble. When danger surrounds us, instead of being filled with faith, we’ll find ourselves paralyzed with fear.

Love and serve God with your whole heart. Walk closely with Him in the good times. Then, when you need Him to be your Deliverer, you’ll know without a doubt you can trust Him to care for you!

Luke 2:11, “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

Text: Luke 2:8-20

Jesus did not grow into being Lord and Saviour. He was born that way. Jesus was God manifest in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16). What a great mystery!

How could Almighty God limit Himself to the form of a man? And even if He did that, how could he possibly start as a baby? These questions defy human ability to fully understand.

At the dedication of the first temple, Solomon said, “But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!”

(2 Chr. 6:18) How much less the body of a little child!

Part of the answer lies in the fact that God is a spirit (Jn. 4:24). Spirits are not limited by time and space. In Jesus’ spirit, He was the eternal God who created the universe. The physical body of Jesus was just His “earth suit” that He used to manifest Himself to mankind. All of Jesus’ deity could fit inside that body.

Even though this is still hard to grasp, it helps us understand how Christ Himself can live in us as believers (Col. 1:27). If all the glory of God could fit inside the physical body of Jesus, then all the fullness of God can dwell in us too (Jn. 1:16). Believe that Christ is in you today.

The sea was beating against the rocks in huge, dashing waves. The lightning was flashing, the thunder was roaring, the wind was blowing; but the little bird was asleep in the crevice of the rock, its head serenely under its wing, sound asleep. That is peace-to be able to sleep in the storm! In Christ, we are relaxed and at peace in the midst of the confusion, bewilderments, and perplexities of life. The storm rages, but our hearts are at rest. We have found peace-at last!

Prayer for the day: Thank You, dear Lord, for the hope I have in Your abiding love, which surrounds me.
