MFM Daily Devotional 28 December 2018 – Wanted: A Mighty Man of Valour

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 28 December 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Wanted: A Mighty Man of Valour

TOPIC — Wanted: A Mighty Man of Valour (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 28 December 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Judges 6:12-16

MEMORY VERSE: “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” – Proverbs 22:29

The MESSAGE:

There once lived a man who had the ability to detect that there is a problem somewhere, but he would do nothing about it. He was simply not interested. There was another man who could not stand seeing a problem without ranting and complaining about it. He would raise his voice to the heavens and the earth would quake from his anger, and this baseless and unproductive exercise was all he was known for. He did these not because he had a solution, but because he just could not stand errors around him. There was yet another man who would identify a problem, puts on his researcher’s coat and then go to work. No drama. He would not shout, he would not rant or disturb the world about it through social or mass media, as some of our empty minded youths of today would do. He would simply go in search of a solution.

That, beloved, is a mighty man of valour. The mighty men of valour are men of great inventions, discoveries and distinctive ideas that shogk the world. Men and women alike, such as Isaac Newton, the Ford brothers, Steve Jobs, Pablo Picasso, Mother Theresa, Shakespeare, Martin Luther king, Chinua Achebe, Wole Soyinka, the list is endless. The Bible also records men and women whose gallantry in faith we read of today such as Deborah, Ruth, Joseph, David, Isaiah, Daniel, Gideon, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His apostles. These are men and women who took charge of destinies because they were available for God’s use. These men and women know what it is to be a solution provider and gave up their entire lives for it. Examples in the Bible are the cases of Gideon and Ruth in Judges 6:25 and Ruth 1:16-18. These individuals portrayed valour: Gideon was used to silence the Medianites whilst Ruth gave up her entire life with Naomi and this one tenacious commitment on her part made her a direct bloodline of Jesus Christ our Lord. The ultimate question is, are you popularly known for ranting when there is a problem or are you the man who is always ready to find a solution when the chips are down? Are you that Christian brother or sister at work, at home or school who ignores problems but will identify with the gallant ones when a solution is found? Beloved, God did not create you to observe or rant, He created you to solve problems and in solving them, success will chase after you too. In our prevent age, only men and women of valour will be remembered for good. Are you born to be one?

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
AS A TRUE CHRISTIAN, YOU ARE MOST EQUIPPED TO BE A SOLUTION PROVIDER ON EARTH.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall manifest as the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

  1. Thank You Jesus, for translating me into Your marvelous light, in the name of Jesus.
  2. Lord Jesus, make Your light shine in my heart always, in the name of Jesus.
  3. Lord Jesus, make me available for use when the need arises in my home, at work and for my country, in Jesus’ name.
    EVENING
  4. Every power that says I will miss my opportunity to shine, die, in the name of Jesus.
  5. Lord Jesus, open my eyes to see the problems You have created me to solve on earth, in Jesus’ name.
  6. Every bewitchment of the evil one, that is making me satisfied in the place the LORD has not called me, die by fire, in Jesus’ name.
  7. The power to change my world through my talents, baptise my life in Jesus’ name.

DCLM Daily Manna 28 December 2018 – He’ll Wipe Away All Tears

Topic: He’ll Wipe Away All Tears [DCLM Daily Manna 28 December 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Isaiah 25:1-12 (KJV)

Key Verse: “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it” (Isaiah 25:8)

MESSAGE:

Mrs. J.M. Hunter, a renowned 20th century hymn writer commented in one of her famous hymns titled: “He’ll wipe all tears away” that “as day by day I journey, I’m weary oft and worn; But to my heart, a message on wings of love is borne: It tells me there is coming A bright and happy day, when God, my heav’nly father, will wipe all tears away. He’ll wipe all tears away. He’ll wipe all tears away…He’ll wipe all tears away…He’ll wipe all tears away; our kind and loving father will wipe all tears away”.

Our text emphasises God’s messianic banquet, celebrating the overthrow of evil and the joy of eternity with God. It shows that God intended His saving message to go out to the whole world, not just to the Jews only. Both Gentiles and Jews will celebrate together.
At that time, God will end death forever. The people who will participate in this great feast will be those who have been living by faith. The Lord will save His own. When He speaks, He does what He says. It is comforting to know that God’s plans and activities are closely tied to His word. Also, His ultimate victory will be seen when death, our ultimate enemy, will be defeated and our tears will be wiped away. Then, we shall experience the glorious presence of the Lord. However, this experience is for the people who have waited patiently for His return. They shall have their tears wiped away forever.

Every sinner must come to the Lord in genuine repentance and the believer should rejoice in the salvation of the Lord until He returns to usher us into His blissful Kingdom, where there shall be no more tears forever!

Thought For The Day: Our light affliction today will give way to eternal bliss ultimately.

Seeds of Destiny 28 December 2018 Devotional: The Impact of Prayer on Character

Topic: The Impact of Prayer on Character [Seeds of Destiny 28 December 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. Luke 9:28-29

Thought For The Day: Whatever destroys your prayer life renders you natural; whatever tampers with your prayer life makes you ordinary.

It has been confirmed that there is a relationship between prayer and character. Prayer moulds character. That is why prayerlessness equals characterlessness. A person of prayer is a person of character.

In Luke 9:29, concerning Jesus, the Bible says,
And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

This passage means, therefore, that:

  1. The place of prayer is a place of character transformation
As we approach and commune with God, we are changed into His nature. Stepping into the place of prayer is like stepping into the Presence of God. When a man spends time with God who is the Consuming Fire, by the application of the fire of His presence, there is a transformation of nature. Whatever destroys your prayer life renders you natural; whatever tampers with your prayer life makes you ordinary.
  2. The place of prayer is the place of exposure
When Isaiah encountered God in Isaiah 6:1-5, he condemned himself after discovering himself as a man of unclean lips. No one pointed out his sins to him. In the Presence of God, the Consuming Fire, the light of His countenance exposes the corruption of man (Psalm 36:9).

Beloved, maintain a buoyant prayer life for the transformation of your life and destiny.

Remember This: Whatever destroys your prayer life renders you natural; whatever tampers with your prayer life makes you ordinary.

Assignments:

  1. Ensure that you have a buoyant prayer life.
  2. Pray without ceasing.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for an increase in my prayer life. Let the fire of Your Presence wash away every sin and guilt from my life, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

ACLU Sues a Louisiana Library for Forbidding Drag Queen Story Time Events

ACLU Sues a Louisiana Library for Forbidding Drag Queen Story Time Events

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has filed suit against the LaFayette Public Library in Louisiana after officials made the decision to prohibit Drag Queen Story Time events, since the library had previously been sued by two other groups for making preparations to present an event on the grounds.

“The defendant’s requirement that individuals seeking to use library space sign a form disavowing affiliation with Drag Queen Story Time as a precondition for use of public space and also under penalty of potential legal liability violates the First Amendment,” the lawsuit declares.

Reports claim that the LaFayette Public Library had scheduled a “Drag Queen Story Time” event to take place in October, but was quickly sued by members of the groups Warriors for Christ and Special Forces of Liberty. The lawsuit asserts that two of the plaintiffs, who are a part of Special Forces of Liberty, classify themselves as polygamists.

The legal challenge voiced criticism in regards to a “government endorsed effort to brainwash and indoctrinate minors to religious (secular humanist) worldviews on sex, faith, truth, gender, morality, and marriage in a manner that excessively entangles the government with the religion of postmodern-western-individualistic-moral relativism.”

“The plaintiffs have no objection to the Drag Queen Story [Time] being held on private…

Christians in Algeria Acquitted of Conversion Charge

Christians in Algeria Acquitted of Conversion Charge

TIZI-OUZOUAlgeria, December 26, 2018 (Morning Star News) – Five Christians in Algeria were acquitted on Tuesday (Dec. 25) of the charge of inciting a Muslim to change her religion, sources said.

A judge at the court of Bouira acquitted Rachid Ouali, whose Muslim wife had filed the charges against himOuali, his friend Ali Laarchi, Laarchi’s wife and daughter, and a Christian identified only as Mohand were acquitted, Ouali’s attorney said.

Laarchi told Morning Star News by phone that he was happy and grateful for his lawyer, a practicing Muslim.

“My family and I, and our beloved brothers Mohand and Rachid, are very happy to see this mishap come to an end,” he said. “We are happy that everything ends so well. The Lord is good.” Ouali’s wife, whose name is withheld, had earlier told him that she filed the charge under pressure from Muslim relatives, Ouali said.

Bouira, in Kabylie Region, is 62 miles southeast of Algiers. Residents of Lekser, 19 miles southeast of Bouira, Ouali and his wife had visited Laarchi’s family for a meal at their home in nearby Bechloul in late June.

Ouali’s wife became incensed at the talk of Jesus she overheard during the lunch and left for her parents’ home, where she told relatives, including two brothers, about the visit. The two brothers, both policemen, demanded that she go to the National Gendarmerie to file a complaint…

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 28 December 2018 – Major on Mercy

Topic: Major on Mercy [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 28 December 2018]

…I beseech thee, show me thy glory. – Exodus 33:18

What would you say is the single, most outstanding thing about God? What’s His most important characteristic? Some people would say it’s His power. Others, His holiness. But God Himself would give a different answer.

You can find that answer in Exodus 33. There Moses is asking God to show him His glory.

Now the word glory could literally be translated “heavy weight.” It refers to the heaviest, biggest, grandest thing about someone. It’s the sum total of their worth.

So what Moses was actually saying was, “Lord, I want to see the weightiest thing about You. I want to know Your grandest attributes.” What did God say to him in response?

Chapter 34:6-7 tells us, “The Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin.”

Just think about that! When Moses asked God to show him the most important thing about Himself, God showed him His mercy.

That means if you and I are to imitate God (Ephesians 5:1) we must major in mercy too. Mercy, goodness, forgiveness and compassion must mark our behavior above all else.

Major on mercy and others will see the glory of God in you.

Scripture Reading: Exodus 33:7-23, 34:5-10

Grey’s Anatomy Star Sarah Drew Shares Exciting News with Adoptive Parents

Grey’s Anatomy Star Sarah Drew Shares Exciting News with Adoptive Parents

Grey’s Anatomy and Indivisible star Sarah Drew delivered the news of a lifetime last week when she told one California family that the adoption of their two daughters would be paid in full.

After Lindsay and Major Colin Culkin were married, the two began to discuss growing their family. As a military family, the pair decided that perhaps they would like to adopt before having biological kids. While stationed in China for a two-year stint, the two began the process of adopting their first kid.

According to PureFlix.com, the couple was quickly approved to adopt two little girls. The Culkin’s were given three days to decide whether they would adopt the kids or not, but they didn’t need three days to decide, they knew straight away that the kids were for them.

According to a PureFlix video interview with the couple, they had only prepared the finances for one adoption, which can cost more than $30,000.

Major Culkin said, “We really had not done the financial planning for adopting two children and then we saw these two girls and our hearts just went out to them.”

The couple knew the cost of adopting both girls would be significant, but they knew this was what they needed to do.

To help them pay for the adoption fees, the family turned to an organization called Adopt Together, which would help the family raise funds through crowdfunding. When PureFlix…

Andrew Wommack Devotional 28 December 2018 – How To Baptize

Topic: How To Baptize [Andrew Wommack Devotional 28 December 2018]

Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”

In the same way that this commission is to every believer, not just to ministers, the command to baptize is also for every believer. It is proper for any believer to administer the ordinance of water baptism.

Jesus commands us to baptize in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, yet there is no recorded instance where the believers did so. Instead, the instances of baptism that are recorded in the book of Acts, show people being baptized in the name of Jesus only.

Because of this noticeable difference, doctrines have arisen that teach there is no Trinity, and that unless water baptism is administered in the name of Jesus (only), with faith in the water baptism, a person cannot be saved. This is a false teaching that has led many people astray.

Water baptism is an outward witness of the inner change that has already taken place. In Acts 10:44-48, Cornelius and his friends were filled with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues, proving that they were already born again before they were baptized in water.

The harmony between the commission of Jesus and the practice of the early church is simple. When we baptize people in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, we are baptizing them in the name of Jesus because “in him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily” (Col. 2:9).

Therefore, baptizing in the name of either, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, or the name of Jesus, is correct as long as Colossians 2:9 is understood.

Billy Graham Devotional 28 December 2018 – Cure for Our Troubles

Topic: Cure for Our Troubles [Billy Graham Devotional 28 December 2018]

. . . preaching peace by Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all). Acts 10:36

Would it not be wonderful if we could find an absolute cure for the troubles of human nature? Suppose we could give a shot in the arm to the whole human race that would fill people with love instead of hate, with contentment instead of greed. Suppose, also, a cure could be found for the past mistakes, failures, and sins of mankind.

Suppose by some miracle all the past could be straightened out, all of life’s tangles could be unraveled, and the broken strings of life could be repaired. The most thrilling news in all the world is the fact that there is a cure! A medicine has been provided! The sin, confusion, and disillusionment of life can be replaced by righteousness, joy, contentment, and happiness. A peace can be imparted to the soul that is not dependent on outward circumstances.

Prayer for the day: In complete dependence upon You, Lord Jesus, let me relay Your message of love and peace to the desperately needy souls I meet.
