Kenneth Copeland Devotional 30 November 2018 – Abide in the Word

Topic: Abide in the Word [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 30 November 2018]

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. – John 15:7

That word abide is so important. When Jesus told us to obey His commandments and keep His Word, He wasn’t just telling us to follow a bunch of religious rules and regulations.

He was telling us to allow His Word—which is a living thing!—to make its home within us. He was telling us to spend time with it, to meditate on it, to fill our minds and our mouths with it, and to let it guide our every action.

The Apostle Paul put it this way, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly…” (Colossians 3:16). Most believers don’t have any idea what that means. That’s one of the reasons they’re so short on power.

Oral Roberts once said that when the Word is really abiding in you, when it’s alive and producing like it should, you can hear it. You know what it’s like when you get a song on your mind and you just keep hearing it over and over inside you? Well, when you start abiding in the Word, you’re probably going to hear it in much that same way.

Many times, I’ve been in desperate situations, wondering what I was going to do when suddenly I’d hear a scripture down on the inside of me. Suddenly, I’d know exactly what the answer to my situation was. I’d be delivered by the Word of God that was dwelling in me.

So, invite the Holy Spirit to go to work on your behalf. Just keep telling Him, “Whatever You bring to my remembrance from the Word is exactly what I’m going to act on. I’m going to be obedient to every command of Jesus that You bring to mind.”

Make a quality decision to abide in the Word. You’ll soon discover that the Word is abiding in you.

Scripture Reading: Colossians 3:1-16

Andrew Wommack Devotional 30 November 2018 – You’re Not Alone In Persecution

Topic: You’re Not Alone In Persecution [Andrew Wommack Devotional 30 November 2018 ]

Luke 23:11 And Herod with his men of war set him at nought, and mocked him, and arrayed him in a gorgeous robe, and sent him again to Pilate.”

All of Christ’s sufferings did not end when He finished His earthly ministry.

He still takes the persecution of His people personally as is revealed by His statement to Saul on the road to Damascus: “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” He didn’t ask Paul why he was persecuting His people. He said, “Why are you persecuting Me?” When we are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, it is actually Christ who is being persecuted.

One of the most trying aspects of persecution is the feeling that God has forsaken you. “If God wanted to, He could stop the persecution, right?

Therefore, He doesn’t care.” That’s the way the devil tries to make us think.

However, the Lord is with you in persecution. If you remember this, it will keep you from being discouraged when persecution comes.

True Christianity is exactly the opposite of the whole-world system. We are heading in a selfless direction, while the world is consumed with self. Jesus teaches us to love, while the world is full of hate. We are supposed to turn the other cheek, while the world takes opportunities to hurt us. The world and Christianity are in conflict. The only reason a Christian would not suffer persecution is if he is heading in the same direction as an unbeliever. When we go God’s way, we will bump into the devil.

Christ is still suffering persecution today when His people are persecuted.

He will continue to do so until the establishment of His physical kingdom.

Open Heaven 30 November 2018 – Seasoned with Salt?

Open Heaven 30 November 2018 Friday Daily Devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Seasoned with Salt?

Topic: Seasoned with Salt? (Open Heaven 30 November 2018)

Memorise: “Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”- Colossians 4:6

Read: Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)

29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 36-37, John 5:30-47

Open Heaven 30 November 2018 Friday MESSAGE:

As seen in today’s memory verse, the Holy Spirit demands that our speech be seasoned with salt. When cooking, it does not matter how many delicious ingredients you have in the soup, if you don’t add salt, your food may taste bland. In the same way, no matter how holy or filled with the Holy Spirit you claim to be, if your speech is not seasoned with salt, you are distasteful to God and man. In fact, all your claims are lies, because Luke 6:45 says:

“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”

In other words, what comes out of your mouth is an indication of what is in your heart. If you are truly holy and filled with the Holy Spirit, it will reflect in your words and show in how you speak to others.

When you become born again, one of the first changes that will be noticed in you is your language. Evil words will no longer be able to come out of your mouth because they are no longer in your heart. From James 3:3-4, we understand that if our tongues can only be under the control of Jesus Christ, then we will walk in His perfect will:

3 Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.”

If people complain about the way you talk, then you need to check your salvation. If your words are bringing sorrow to others, then your speech needs to be seasoned with salt. Are you using the same tongue that you use to praise God to also insult people? Are you telling lies with your tongue and also quoting scriptures with that same tongue? If your tongue is not for Christ, it does not matter how much of His word you say, it is powerless and useless in your mouth. Some preachers preach for long hours and the word does not seem to have any effect in the lives of people; the reason is because the tongue preaching is not of God. If you can consecrate your tongue to God, you will see a serious transformation in the power of your words. Your words will begin to heal the sick, deliver captives, raise the dead and convict sinners.

Open Heaven 30 November 2018 Friday Key Point:

Watch your heart, because that is where your words are formed. Speak life where everything seems dead, speak peace wherever there is conflict, and speak love to the depressed.

1.Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2.Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee,
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3.Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee,
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose,
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee,
Ever, only, all for Thee.

CNN Commentator Marc Lamont Hill Calls for the Eradication of Israel

CNN Commentator Marc Lamont Hill Calls for the Eradication of Israel

CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill spoke on Wednesday at the opening meeting of the United Nations commemoration of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People where he urged for the elimination of Israel.

Hill started his speech by noting, what he called, the blatant violations of human rights implemented by Israel against Palestinians.

He said, “This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Nakba.”

“The Israeli nation continues to restrict freedom,” Hill asserted. “There are more than 60 Israel laws that deny citizenship rights to Palestinians just because they are not Jewish.”

Hill said, “From housing to education, family reunification, it is clear that any freedoms naturally endowed to all human beings are actively being stripped away from Palestinians through Israeli statecraft.” He continued, “While human rights promises the right to life liberty and the security of person, Palestinians continue to live under the threat of random violence by Israeli military and Police. Disproportionate violence in the West Bank and Gaza, unprompted violence in the face of peaceful protest, and misdirected violence by an Israeli state that systematically fails to distinguish between civilians and combatants.”

Hill continued emphasizing a person’s right under the Universal Declaration for Human Rights to not be tortured. He then asserted that…

Woman Diagnosed with Autism, Euthanized In Belgium, Doctors Involved Are Now Under Investigation

Woman Diagnosed with Autism, Euthanized In Belgium, Doctors Involved Are Now Under Investigation

A 38-year-old Belgian woman was euthanized in 2010, and her family is seeking justice.

In 2010, Tine Nys was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome and approved for euthanasia by Dr. Lieve Thienpont. According to the Daily Wire, Nys’ family consistently asked for explanations after she was speedily diagnosed and euthanized. According to the outlet, a large-scale criminal investigation was launched by officials into three Belgian doctors, including Thienpont, for suspected poisoning.

The Associated Press reported that Sophie Nys, Tine Nys sister, was left questioning why her sister was killed only two months after being diagnosed with Asperger’s, especially since her psychiatrist before Thienpont refused her request for euthanasia.

The AP wrote, “Sophie Nys believes her sister’s euthanasia was granted far too easily. She acknowledges that her sister Tine had long struggled with mental health problems, but said it was unthinkable that those problems warranted her death. Tine’s longtime psychiatrist rejected her request to die, but Tine soon found Thienpont.”

Reportedly Dr. Thienpont diagnosed Nys with Asperger’s and approved her request to be euthanized after only two or three meetings. Sophie believes her sister may have manipulated the Asperger’s test so that her request would be approved.

“[Tine] knew that if she wasn’t…

Texas Middle School Reverses Decision to Prohibit Students from Openly Praying

Texas Middle School Reverses Decision to Prohibit Students from Openly Praying

Months after a group of Honey Grove Middle School students were scolded for praying for a fellow student at lunch, the Texas school has made the decision to permit its students to openly pray once again.

Eighth-grade student Hannah Allen gathered together with a few fellow students back in September to pray for a classmate who had recently been involved in an accident.

CBN News reports that while meeting during lunch, the group assembled around a vacant table, held hands and prayed.

Not long into the prayer, Principal Lee Frost approached the students and declared, “Y’all don’t do that again,” although the prayer was both initiated and led by the students.

The following day, Principal Frost told Allen and the rest of the group that they were only allowed to pray if they were doing so behind the cafeteria stage curtain, outside or when the gym was vacant.

First Liberty Institute, a nonprofit legal organization, swiftly jumped to the students’ defense while contending that Principal Frost’s actions violated their rights.

Keisha Russell, associate counsel for First Liberty Institute, stated the following in a letter: “Students should not have to hide or be exiled to pray for each other. School officials need to remember that students don’t lose their First Amendment rights at the school house gate. We’re hoping this issue can be…

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Features Lesbian Kiss as 23 Million Watch

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Features Lesbian Kiss as 23 Million Watch

Families hoping to avoid the culture wars on Thanksgiving morning likely were disappointed by the televised Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which featured a song from the Broadway musical The Prom and was capped by a kiss between two women.

Singers danced to the song It’s Time To Dance, which featured lyrics celebrating how “no one cares who your unruly heart loves” at the prom. It also proclaimed that proms can show people “how the world could one day be.”

The musical number depicted straight couples, at least one male gay couple, and a lesbian couple dancing.

The lesbian couple were the focus. They joined hands in singing, “This is more than I dared wish for,” and at the end of the song, they kissed.

The NBC audience averaged 23.68 million viewers over the three-hour broadcast, according to The Hollywood Reporter

Some viewers were upset.

“Stop trying to influence children,” wrote one person on Yahoo Entertainment’s Facebook page.

Another person wrote, “You have ruined the whole parade for me.”

But director/choreographer Casey Nicholaw stood by the number.

“For me it just was such a huge message that they [Macy’s and NBC] allowed it and they went for it and were committed to it, and I honestly cannot thank them enough,” he told Deadline.

59 Percent of Protestant Christians Don’t Drink; 41 Percent Do, Survey Finds

59 Percent of Protestant Christians Don’t Drink; 41 Percent Do, Survey Finds

Christians in the Protestant tradition agree that drunkenness is a sin, but they’re divided on the subject of total abstinence from alcohol, according to a new survey from LifeWay Research.

A total of 87 percent of churchgoing Protestant Christians believe “Scripture indicates people should never get drunk,” the poll found.

Fifty-nine percent say they never drink alcohol, while 41 percent do. That’s a slight change from 2007 when 61 percent always abstained and 39 percent drank.

“While alcohol consumption continues be seen as mainstream in the United States, churchgoers’ attitudes about drinking haven’t changed much in the past decade,” Scott McConnell, executive director of LifeWay Research, said in a news release.

Meanwhile, 71 percent disagree that “Scripture indicates that people should never drink alcohol.” Twenty-three percent agree. That’s a change from 2007 when 68 percent disagreed and 29 percent agreed with the statement.

The survey also found that:

— Alcohol consumption is more popular among Lutherans (76 percent) and Methodists (62 percent) than Baptists (33 percent), non-denominational (43 percent) and Assemblies of God/Pentecostals (23 percent).

— Male Protestant churchgoers (48 percent) are more likely to drink alcohol than are women (37 percent).

— Young adults (ages 18-34) are evenly split. Fifty…

Jimmy Fallon Thanks Operation Blessing as They Help a Family Rebuild Their Home Destroyed by Hurricane Florence

Jimmy Fallon Thanks Operation Blessing as They Help a Family Rebuild Their Home Destroyed by Hurricane Florence

On Tuesday night, the Tonight Show’s host Jimmy Fallon announced that Operation Blessing in partnership with Home Depot would be helping a deserving family in the audience rebuild their home which was severely damaged by Hurricane Florence.

Earlier this year, the McArthur family’s home was devastated by Hurricane Florence causing water damaged and destruction to their home. Nonetheless, the family stayed faithful.

In an interview with CBN News, Divya McArthur said she was finding peace in Romans 8:28 which says, “all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord.’

The family first met Operation Blessing when they came to help them gut part of their house following the hurricane. Though the organization had helped to start the rebuilding process for the McArthurs, they wanted to do more.

According to CBN News, during the demolition, the organization told the McArthurs that the Tonight Show wanted to invite some of the people affected by the storm out to their show for some much-needed time away from the disaster. The family prepared for some time away from the destruction, but what they didn’t know was that God was about to provide them with everything they needed on national TV.

During Tuesday night’s show, Fallon called Terry and Divya McArthur along with their 12-year-old son to the…

Dutch continuous church service reaches day 34 to protect refugee family

Dutch law states that the police cannot enter a building “intended for religious or reflective meetings of a philosophical nature, during the worship or reflection meeting”.

Bethel Church in The Hague has therefore got a back-to-back rota of preachers and church members to be in the building 24/7 so the Tamrazyan family cannot be deported.

They live in Holland but are originally from Armenia and have not obtained a residence permit.

Premier spoke to Reverend Theo Hettema, the chair person of the General Council of the Protestant Church in The Hague, who spoke at the very first service on 26th October.

He explained “We’ve started this service to give protection and safety to an Armenian family, the Tamrazyans, who had fled to Holland nine years ago, have applied for a resident permit which was denied again and again, given and denied again.”

The Tamrazyan family includes a mother, father and three older children (21, 19 and 15) but their request for a ‘children’s pardon’ has been rejected, despite the fact they meet the requirement of having children integrated for five years of Dutch education.

Listen to Rev Theo Hettema, the General Council of the Protestant Church The Hague, who started the first service off, speaking to Cara Bentley here:

Theo Hettema explained: “This was surely the case for this family but they were not fortunate in applying for this…
