Topic: The Courage to Say “No” [Joyce Meyer Devotional 27 November 2018]

My husband Dave once did one of the wisest things I’ve seen. Before we entered full-time ministry, he worked as an engineer. He was offered a promotion that included a pay raise and a lot of prestige. But he turned it down.

At first I was angry with him. I thought he was making a big mistake. Didn’t he want to climb the corporate ladder? Wasn’t he the best person for the job?

He explained that he had watched the other men in that position. They had to travel extensively, and they were constantly saddled with unreasonable deadlines that put them under tremendous stress.

“That is not the way I want to live,” Dave said. He chose the position that allowed him to stick to his core values—commitment to family, and comfort with self— rather than chasing corporate power so others would look up to him.

Besides, why choose a bigger paycheck if you just spend it on doctor bills to relieve your stress-induced illnesses? Job stress causes as much illness in this country as smoking and lack of exercise. Like those things, it kills.

Do whatever you need to do to make sure you fully enjoy the life He has provided for you. Sometimes saying “no” takes more courage than saying “yes”.

You can take this concept beyond the work arena. Removing all the things from your schedule that aren’t bearing good fruit will greatly reduce your stress level and enable you to truly enjoy the things you choose to concentrate on.

Prayer Starter: Lord, I ask for Your help to manage my schedule wisely. Help me to keep my priorities straight and learn to say “no” to things that will pull me away from what’s important in life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

TOPIC: Jumping Out Of the Dust of Poverty (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 27 November 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 1 Samuel 2:7-8

MEMORY VERSE: “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.” – 2 Corinthians 8:9

The MESSAGE:

In the Fire Scripture, the man in the dust of poverty was described as a poor man and a beggar who needed to be raised out of the dust and be lifted from the dunghill. He needed to be set among the princess and inherit the throne of glory. Poverty is a state of lack, destitution, want, shortage, inadequacy, scarcity, lacking basic needs, and inferiority complex. Such a person is deficient, destitute, penniless, needy, starved, beggarly, broke, weak and hungry but dreaming of food. Beloved, God has the power to make us rich as He did for king Solomon. God also has promised us that as we obey and serve Him, He will bless our water, our bread and remove sickness from among us (Exodus 23: 25). His wish is that we should prosper in all things, but what do we see today? Many Christians are poor despite being born again, and the Spirit-filled are still covered with the dust of poverty.

Adam and Eve were made out of dust, and they were not meant to return to the dust but for the sin if disobedience. The ground, which was meant to be their instrument of prosperity, became their curse. Therefore, to be covered by the dust of poverty means that one is under siege, distress, sorrowful situation, hungry, and lacks helpers. The siege of poverty also expresses itself when there is unexplained hatred, when one is despised, always indebted and not able to pay, leading to financial stress and embarrassment, unexplainable loss of money, non-recovery of money lent out to people, always having dreams of putting on rags, business failures, career and prayer failure, and chronic unemployment situation. Many people willingly or due to ignorance, cover themselves with the dust of poverty as a result of their attitude. Many others are victims of satanic attacks due to disobedience to God’s laws.

God has the power to raise the poor out of the dust and He has promised us just that. To come out of poverty therefore, you need to believe in the work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, recognize God as your source, serve Him, seek His kingdom first, obey Him at all cost, be holy and fear God, look up and not down for your help, be a giver with the little you have, abstain from cheating others, be prayerful and have faith in God. Above all, Christ became poor for your sake so that you can be rich.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
UNTIL YOU ARE READY TO BE A BLESSING TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD, GOD MAY NOT BLESS YOU FINANCIALLY.

PROPHETIC WORD:
As you bless God’s kingdom with your finances, generational poverty assigned against your life shall die.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Every inherited poverty operating in my family line and still affecting any life, die, in the name of Jesus.
2. Every witchcraft arrow fired into my finances, backfire, in the name of Jesus.
3. I refuse to belong to non-achievement club, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Dream of poverty, as from today, disappear from my life, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every water spirit, caging my blessings, release them and die, in the name of Jesus.
6. By the power in the name of Jesus, I jump out of the dust of poverty into riches, in the name of Jesus.
7. I shall not lack any good thing again, I shall prosper and the Holy Ghost shall settle every enmity between money and me, in the name of Jesus.

Topic: God has Colourful Plans for You [TREM Devotional 27 November 2018]

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

God spoke through the ancient prophet Jeremiah at the time when God’s people were in captivity. He said go and tell them my thoughts towards them are thoughts of peace and not of evil to give them a hope and a future. This same God has that colourful plan for you. You are not going to end a disgrace. You have been called for glory. For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. (Romans 8:29 KJV).

In other words, He has already determined your end before you started. So I can tell you with my eyes wide open that you shall not end a failure. The devil will not cut you short. Don’t be bothered about what is happening around you. How else can God reveal His glory if there is no darkness? Light cannot shine brightest unless there is darkness.

God said in His Word that you are the one He has predestinated to be conformed to the image of His Son. And those He predestinated, them He called because He has already prepared your position. Ever before you were born He called you out of eternity. And those He called, He justified. And those He justified, He glorified. That means that you are called for glory.

So, whatever it is that is trying to make you see shame is terminated. You will not see shame in your life. You will not see disgrace in your life. God raised you up to bring Him glory. Therefore, whatever it is that the devil is packaging to make you see shame will not stand because it was not so in the beginning and so we don’t accept it. You will see glory. He knew you long before you were born. You are not an accident.

Text: Mark 10:1-12 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her” (Mark 10:11).

MESSAGE:

The divorce dilemma is a growing social scourge that must be carefully avoided by everyone. The pangs and pains trailing failed marriages make it imperative for all sections of the social strata to understand the root of this plague and identify effective ways of preventing its occurrence. Jesus, the great Teacher and Lord of all, has the panacea to this social problem.

His recommendation is, “What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder” (Mark 10:9). Marital relationship between two male and female adults, with parental consent, conducted based on any religious or cultural belief, are binding and indissoluble by scriptural standards.

Divorce dilemma is such a precipice that no person should contemplate of jumping from. It hurts deeply and could hurt eternally, as no adulterer or adulteress, which a divorce situation occasions, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Every person associated with a failed marriage – couples, children, relations of partners, friends and well-wishers of the couples – feels the pain. The society is not spared because the products of crashed marriage are released into it with known heart and head aches they cause.

Thanks to God, who has provided ways of escape from marital malaise. How? Be a believer in Jesus Christ, who is the Author of life and Giver of all good gifts. Obey and follow His teaching on all aspects of life, including marriage and enjoy His fellowship by remaining wisely connected to Him daily. God is faithful who will always bless and heal your marriage in whatever area it aches. Amen!

Topic: No Prison Can Hold You Down [Seeds of Destiny 27 November 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36

Thought For The Day: The power of God has the capacity to loose all bands and chains.

Previously, we saw that the Power of God has the capacity to shake and destroy the foundation of a prison and force open the prison doors.

Now, it is also important to know that the power of God has the capacity to loose all bands and chains (Acts 16:26). If the prison door is opened but the prisoner’s chain is still on him, then freedom is not complete. Some people almost shared a testimony but it got aborted. This time around the testimony must happen because the bands must be loosed.

When someone in prison receives a presidential pardon, he is removed from the prison, the bad record is deleted, and his status as a prisoner changed.

Now, we, as God’s children received the Presidential pardon when God, the President of all presidents sent His only begotten Son to come and die for us and drop all charges against us on the Cross of Calvary. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us (Galatians 3:13); He took our place. We were justified (Romans 3:24; 5:9); the word justified is Just-As-If-I’d Never Done It. So, the devil does not have anything to use against you; no prison can hold you down.

I see prison doors open and you are coming out of every form of prison, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The power of God has the capacity to loose all bands and chains.

Assignments:
1. Search the scripture and locate light that confirms that your liberty in life was guaranteed.
2. Stand firm on the light and make demands on your freedom from every form of prison.
3. Live a life void of offence towards God and man.
