Franklin Graham says Donald Trump is a ‘changed person’

The US evangelist said Donald Trump has undergone a transformation in the 16 months since he moved into the White House in January 2017.

He told the ‘Axios on HBO’ show: “Now people say, ‘Well Frank but how can you defend him, when he’s lived such a sordid life?’

“I never said he was the best example of the Christian faith. He defends the faith. And I appreciate that very much.”

More than a dozen women have accused Donald Trump of sexual misconduct – in alleged incidents spanning from the early 1980s to 2013. He denies the allegations.

Rev Graham, who gave an exclusive interview with Premier in January, continued: “Trump has admitted his faults and has apologised to his wife and his daughter for things he has done and said.

“And he has to stand before God for those things.”

Donald Trump has also drawn applause from US church leaders for publicly expressing support for religious liberty and the pro-life movement.

In January, he declared 18th January to be Religious Freedom Day. The president supported the case of Jack Phillips (pictured below), a Christian cake decorator who was taken to court for refusing to cater for a same-sex wedding.

Arrest of Converts Shows Close Surveillance of Christians in Iran, Advocate Says

Arrest of Converts Shows Close Surveillance of Christians in Iran, Advocate Says

JERUSALEM, November 21, 2018 (Morning Star News) – Two Christian converts from Islam planning to meet in a northern city of Iran were detained on the same day, part of what rights advocates say could be part of a rash of arrests in the area.

Behnam Ersali and Davood Rasooli, both of Karaj, were arrested on Friday (Nov. 16) before they were scheduled to meet in Mashhad, according to advocacy organization Middle East Concern (MEC). It is believed that Iranian intelligence intercepted calls between the two men to learn of their plan to meet, according to MEC.

“It reveals how closely the Iranian authorities are closely monitoring the Christians,” said Rob Duncan, regional manager at MEC.

Ersali, a former member of the Assemblies of God church in Tehran, had traveled to Mashhad and was arrested at his friends’ home there. Six plain-clothes officers, including a woman, entered the home without legal permission. He was arrested along with another person who was later released, according to Mohabat News.

On the same day, Rasooli was arrested in front of his home in Karaj by two plain-clothes officers at 6 a.m. as he was preparing to leave for Mashhad, according to Mohabat news.

Both have been taken to unknown locations and have had no contact with their family or relatives, according to MEC.

“The fact that there has been no information and…

Christian charity warns about latest climate change forecasts for UK

The Environment Secretary, Michael Gove on Monday called for urgent action on climate change, as the new forecasts predict warmer and drier weather in the UK.

It’s projected that summer temperatures could be hotter by up to 5.4 degrees Celsius by 2070 – and average summer rainfall could fall by nearly half.

Sea levels are also projected to rise over the 21st century.

Andy Lester, Conservation Director with A Rocha UK told Premier that the new figures are worrying.

“We’re facing a new reality, and that is that within many people’s lifetimes, the impact of climate change will have a day-to-day effect on many of our lives, which in some cases will make the difference between life and death.”

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs said in a statement: “The UK already leads the world in tackling climate change with emissions reduced by more than 40 per cent since 1990. However these projections show a future we could face without further action.”

Further predictions are that the chance of a summer as hot as 2018 is around 50 per cent by 2050, sea levels in London could rise by up to 1.15 metres by 2100 and average summer rainfall could decrease by up to 47 per cent by 2070, while there could be up to 35 per cent more precipitation in winter.

Nevertheless, Lester told Premier that the UK and individual Christians can still make a difference.

“We can be real…

Yorkshire school bans Christmas…can pupils save the day?

In assemblies last week, one of the RE teachers at Lady Lumley’s specialist sports and languages college in Pickering, Mrs Paul, made the controversial decision to tell students that Christmas celebrations this year were cancelled.

Mrs Paul asked pupils whether the message of Christmas has been lost and buried under an “avalanche of commercialisation”.

She gave examples of Christmas cards that bear no relation to the origin or meaning of Christmas but carry symbols we now recognise as associated with the holiday season.

Google maps

The school explained that as a result, cards, gifts and Christmas activities are banned.

Mrs Paul asked students to consider the true meaning of Christmas and write to her, using the email address [email protected], with their “persuasive arguments” explaining how Christmas should be celebrated at this time of year to try and persuade her to change her mind.

Writing in the schools blog about Christmas, the headmaster of Lady Lumley’s Richard Bramley said: “Christmas is a day about celebrating the birth of Jesus and should be a time of good will to all, yet it can be a very stressful, expensive, argumentative and lonely time.”

The pupils have until Friday to try and change the schools position on Christmas celebrations this year.

Indian authorities trying to recover body of US missionary

John Allen Chau was twenty-six years old. A native of Vancouver, Washington, he led missionary trips around the world for Christ.

This month, he traveled to the North Sentinel Island in India’s Bay of Bengal to share Christ with the Sentinelese tribe. Its members have been isolated for centuries, rejecting all contact with the larger world and reacting with violence when outsiders have attempted to interact with them. Their island is off-limits to visitors under Indian law.

Chau hired local fishermen to transport him within half a mile of the island. He then used a canoe to reach the island’s shore, returning later in the day.

On his second trip, the tribespeople broke his canoe, forcing him to swim back to the boat. On his third trip, he did not come back. The fishermen said they later saw tribespeople dragging his body around.

Indian authorities have now begun the arduous work of trying to retrieve Chau’s body without triggering a conflict with the islanders.

Before he left the boat for the last time, Chau wrote a note to his family. “You guys might think I’m crazy in all this but I think it’s worthwhile to declare Jesus to these people,” he said.

Then he added: “Please do not be angry at them or at God if I get killed–rather please live your lives in obedience to whatever He has called you to and I will see you again when you pass through the veil.”

“When necessary, use words”

John Chau’s story raises numerous questions. Among them: Was it ethical to risk exposing the North Sentinelese to diseases for which they have no immunities? How did Chau expect to communicate with them if he did not understand their language or culture? Was it appropriate for him to seek contact with people who clearly did not want him on their island?

Here’s the larger theological question: Do the North Sentinelese need to hear about Jesus?

Our secular culture would answer loudly in the negative. “Live and let live” is the mantra…

Christian owners of this house win ‘war on Christmas’ case

A court has found Jeremy and Kristy Morris from Hayden in the US state of Idaho did suffer religious discrimination at the hands of their local housing association.

They claimed the West Hayden States First Addition Homeowners Association tried to block their festive celebrations – allegedly over concerns about noise, bright lights and its religious nature.

The Morris family informed the association in December 2014 of their intention to move into Ferndale Drive and plans to stage the annual festive celebration.

A letter allegedly sent by the association threatened “expensive litigation” if its rules were flouted, saying Jeremy and Kristy could not move into the neighbourhood unless they scrapped the nativity event.

Jeremy R Morris/Facebook

The note read: “It’s not the intention of the Board to discourage you from becoming part of our great neighborhood, but we do not wish to become entwined in any expensive litigation to enforce long standing rules and regulations and fill our neighborhood with the hundreds of people and possible undesirables.

“We have worked hard to keep our area peaceful, quiet, and clean.”

“And finally, I am somewhat hesitant in bringing up the fact that some of our residents are non-Christians or of another faith. And I don’t even want to think of the problems that could bring up.”

Taking the association to court last…

Nine Updated Trends about Christmas Eve Services

Christmas Eve is less than a month away. Most churches have some type of Christmas Eve services, but we are seeing clear trends in how churches approach them. Every time we write or podcast something about these services, we get a lot of comments and questions. In that context, here is an update on nine clear trends we are seeing:

  1. It is growing in importance. Non-Christians are more likely to come to worship services on Christmas Eve than any other day of the year, including Easter. Church leaders get it. They are putting more prayer, preparation, and strategic thinking into the services.
  2. There are three popular times for the service. Whether a church has one or multiple Christmas Eve services, three times are more popular than others: later afternoon (typically for families with young children and for older adults); early evening (the more traditional time); and late evening (for empty nesters and families with teenage or grown children).
  3. The services are traditional. They include traditional hymns and carols. They may include some time for the lighting of the final advent candle.
  4. The services are brief. The typical length is 30 to 45 minutes.
  5. The pastor’s message is brief. The typical length is 10 to 15 minutes.
  6. Most churches include candlelight services. They are now expected by Christians and non-Christians alike.
  7. More unchurched are attending these services. As I noted in the first item, one of the reasons for the growing importance of Christmas Eve services is the increasing number of…

Australia open to offering Asia Bibi sanctuary

Canberra said it is willing to grant asylum in the event that talks to bring Asia Bibi and her family to Canada stall.

The development was welcomed by campaign group The Australian Christian Lobby, which urged ministers to “act now”.

Managing director, Martyn Iles said: “This is momentous news for all who have lobbied so hard and so long for Asia Bibi.”

It remains unclear what progress has been made since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau revealed two weeks ago that Canada was “in discussions” with Islamabad about Ms Bibi.

Mr Iles continued: “Government sources have this afternoon confirmed that it will make an offer of asylum to Asia Bibi if Canada does not do so in the coming days.

“This announcement means that both her and her family have been guaranteed a home in one of the freest and safest countries on earth.”

Earlier this month, Italy’s deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini said he would do “everything humanly possible” to secure her safety.

Nationwide protests by hard-line Islamists erupted in major Pakistani cities when Ms Bibi was acquitted at the country’s Supreme Court.

She had been on death row since 2010, when she was convicted of insulting the Islamic prophet Muhammad.

Since her release from jail, Ms Bibi has been kept at a secret location in Pakistan. Her family…

Joyce Meyer Devotional 26 November 2018 — You Are at a Place Of Prayer

Topic: You Are at a Place Of Prayer [Joyce Meyer Devotional 26 November 2018]

Under the Old Covenant, the temple was the house of God, the place of prayer for His people, the children of Israel. The temple had three compartments, one of which was the Holy of Holies, and it held the presence of God! Amazingly, now our renewed and sanctified spirit is the place where His presence dwells!

Under the New Covenant, the apostle Paul tells us that God’s presence is now a mystery revealed, which is of Christ in us, “the Hope of glory” (see Colossians 1:27).

Because of the union you now have with Christ, you can be close to God because you are God’s living temple. You are indwelt by the Holy Spirit, a building still under construction, but nonetheless His house, His tabernacle. Paul goes to great length in encouraging us to live a holy life because we are the temple of God.

Whereas the children of Israel had to go to a specific place to offer their worship with detailed instructions, we have the incredible privilege of worshiping God anywhere and at any time. Therefore, we can be called a house of prayer.

Prayer Starter: Oh, Lord, I thank You for Your Holy Spirit Who lives inside of me. Thank You that Your awesome presence goes with me everywhere I go! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

MFM Daily Devotional 26 November 2018 – Victorious Christians

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 26 November 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – Victorious Christians

TOPIC: Victorious Christians (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 26 November 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Exodus 14:27-31

MEMORY VERSE: “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” – 1 John 5:4

The MESSAGE:

A genuine Christian is a born again Christian that is consciously working towards rapture. There are two categories of Christians in this context: those that can be described as non-victorious and the victorious ones. A victor is a winner, one that remains unbeatable, and a terror to the kingdom of darkness, while non-victorious Christians are the defeated ones. They always run from their enemies; they are fearful and are cowards. To be a victor and a winner, there are battles to fight. Those who are victors, therefore, must have fought some battles of life, defeated their enemies in many ways that have made the enemies to be fearful of them.

There have been victorious Christians from the beginning of time: Abraham was victorious in rescuing Lot and his family. Moses was victorious in demonstrating God’s power over Pharoah’s magicians and in leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Joshua was victorious when he commanded the sun to stand still and the moon to stay in place to enable him to totally destroy his enemies. In the New Testament, the Lord Jesus Christ was victorious when He cast out demons, healed sicknesses, raised the dead and finally, the biggest victory of all was when he said, “It is finished”. He said earlier that “greater works shall ye do”. When a Christian remains non-victorious spiritually and physically, attacks would usually come in form of pursuers in dreams and the Christian will run and get tired in the physical realm. This is followed by persistent and constant affliction, limitation, unexplained poverty, prayerlessness, lack of Bible reading, inability to fast, lack of love for God and man etc.

Non-victorious life could be due to a secret sin, open sin, not busy for God, lack of spiritual exercises, refusal to obey God, refusal to answer God’s call etc. God expects us as Christians to have victory over evil influences, over malign spiritual power and over severe afflictions. On the other hand, God wants us to prosper and be instruments in His hands the way Joshua, Moses and others were. He wants us to have victory over all the battles of life. Beloved, enough of being totally dependent on Pastors and other men of God for prayers and prophesies. You may go for counseling for clarification, but you must also learn how to interpret your own revelations or dreams by engaging in operation-do-it-yourself. It is not enough to just be a church goer.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
BAD SPIRITS HAVE NO POWER TO BRING YOU TO DESTRUCTION UNLESS THEY FIND AN AREA IN YOUR LIFE THAT HAS NOT BEEN YIELDED TO GOD.

PROPHETIC WORD:
By the power in the name of Jesus, you are a victor forever.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. I receive divine power to destroy every destroying power assigned against my life, in the name of Jesus.
2. I issue a divine curse on every satanic instrument set against my life, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every power trying to bury me at all cost, fall down and die, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. I issue command by the authority in the name of Jesus, you owner of evil load of sickness in my life, carry your load, in the name of Jesus.
5. Every Pharoah in my life, it is your time to die, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. Every taskmaster assigned against my labour, somersault and die, in the name of Jesus.
7. King of glory, visit me and turn around my captivity, in the name of Jesus.
