DCLM Daily Manna 26 November 2018 – Never An Unbeliever!

Topic: Never An Unbeliever! [DCLM Daily Manna 26 November 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: Genesis 24:1-9 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell (Genesis 24:3).

MESSAGE:

Getting hooked in marriage to a wrong partner is the worst pitfall any serious-minded individual can ever encounter in life. Abraham, the patriarch and father of Isaac did not want to put-at-risk the life and destiny of his son and lineage by marrying any of the daughters of Canaan.

The problems of unequal yoke in marriage, business, spiritual and secular endeavours are better imagined than experienced.

Believers must be wary of who they want to partner with in short and long-standing relationships. The scriptural injunction which serves as a guide for Christian pilgrims in this matter today is: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers…” (1 Corinthians 6:14). This, however, does not prescribe non-association with unbelieving colleagues in social circles but a strict warning not to knot our life and destiny with such individuals through whom Satan can wreak havoc on us as believers.

One may retort and wonder how possible this stance is today! Yes, the chief servant of Abraham faced similar problem and felt the same way when this injunction was first given by God through father Abraham. But Abraham’s answer was reassuring, appropriate and practicable even in our contemporary time. He said, “the Lord God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house…; he will send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence” (Genesis 24:7). God and His good Spirit will guide you when your heart is steadfastly inclined to do His will. Never allow the current tide of evil in the society sway your heart away from obeying God and following this time-tested principle for Christian pilgrims.

Thought For The Day: Do not knot the tie with an unbeliever.

Seeds of Destiny 26 November 2018 Devotional – The Five-Fold Secret for Captivity Termination

Topic: The Five-Fold Secret for Captivity Termination [Seeds of Destiny 26 November 2018 Devotional]

Scripture: And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. Luke 13:12-13

Thought For The Day: The Word of God manufactures a person unto freedom.

Previously, we saw that the power of God establishes a person in freedom from captivity by destroying the foundations of prisons and opening prison doors. The Presence or the Power of God is an answer to terminating the captivities of life.

In addition, there are other factors that can terminate captivity:
1. The power of prayer
When Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God, the prison doors broke open (Acts 16:25). Prayer carries a captivity-terminating power.

2. The power of praise (Acts 16:25).
Paul and Silas sang praises, in addition and the prison doors could not hold them anymore. Praise is a captivity terminator. You can praise your way out of the bondage of life.

3. The Power of the Word (Psalm 107:20).
The knowledge of the truth of God’s Word makes a person free. (John 8:32, John 17:17). So, the Word manufactures a person unto freedom.

4. The Power of the Anointing
The anointing destroys yokes (Isaiah 10:27).

5. The power of prophetic impact
The captivity of a person can be terminated when God’s prophet over his life decrees against the captivity. In Luke 13:10-13, Jesus declared, woman thou art loosed…, laid hands on her, electrocuted the demon of paralysis, electrified her back and she got straightened on the spot.

I declare into your life today, every yoke holding you down is broken, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: The Word manufactures a person unto freedom.

Assignments:
1. Engage the secrets mentioned in our study today and expect a captivity turnaround.
2. Be intimately and consistently connected with God in worship.
3. Vehemently refuse a life of captivity.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE TERMINATION OF CAPTIVITY.

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to the truth that will guarantee my freedom from every captivity around my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Kenneth Copeland Devotional 26 November 2018 – What’s Your Name?

Topic: What’s Your Name? [Kenneth Copeland Devotional 26 November 2018]

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. – Colossians 3:17

Did you know your name has been changed? It’s no longer the same as it was before you were born again. You gave your old name away when you made covenant with Jesus.

To fully appreciate what that means, you have to think about it in the light of what we know about blood covenant. When someone enters a covenant of blood, he is giving himself completely away. He is no longer his own. His assets and his debts, his strengths and his weaknesses belong forever to his covenant brother.

When you’re in blood covenant with someone, that person’s name becomes your name forever. You cannot escape it—good or bad—it’s yours.

When you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He took your name! Your name was sin. Your name was weakness. Your name was fear and poverty and every other evil thing you inherited from Adam.

Jesus took those names from you and gave you His own in exchange. That’s right! Ephesians 3:15 says that the whole Body of Christ has been named after Him both in heaven and earth. That means you have been given Jesus’ Name. Its authority is now yours!

Just think about who you’re named after:

“Jesus, Mighty God, Wisdom, Deliverer, Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Word of Life, Advocate, Provider, The Great I Am, Helper, Savior, Prince of Peace, Wonderful Counselor, Lamb of God, Lord of Hosts, Root of David, Author and Finisher of Our Faith, The Way, Healer, Son of God, The Truth, Chief Cornerstone, King of Kings, Light of the World, Chief Shepherd, My Strength and Song, Righteous Judge, Son of Righteousness, Resurrection and Life, The Alpha and Omega.”

Praise God, those names cover any need you’ll ever have. What’s more, the power of God is in His Name to bring that Name to pass in your life (Acts 3:16).

You can’t call yourself discouraged anymore. That’s not your name. You can’t answer when the devil yells, “Hey, poor boy.” That’s not your name. Jesus has taken those old names of yours. They’re gone. So meditate on the names of the Lord. They’re all wrapped up in the Name of Jesus, the Name above all names, and that Name with all its power and authority has been given to you!

Billy Graham Devotional 26 November 2018 – Enjoy Life

Topic: Whose Son Is He? [Billy Graham Devotional 26 November 2018]

Now you are happy with the inexpressible joy that comes from heaven itself. — 1 Peter 1:8 (TLB)

Christians are to enjoy life and enjoy one another. When children see no joy in their home, no joy in your Christianity, they will not be attracted by it. When they see you excited about going to a ball game, or watching television, and then dragging around to do spiritual things, they will soon get the idea that Christianity does not mean much to you. Your attitude will rub off. My wife says that the best way to get a child to eat his food is to see his parents enjoying theirs. Our children will not be attracted to Christ if we make Him seem dull.

Prayer for the day: May I live so close to You, Jesus, that those around me will see Your joy.

Open Heaven 26 November 2018 – The Secrets of Life

Open Heaven 26 November 2018 Monday Daily Devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – The Secrets of Life

Topic: The Secrets of Life (Open Heaven 26 November 2018)

Memorise: “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.”Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV)

Read: Daniel 2:25-28 (KJV)

25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.

26 The king answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?

27 Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, shew unto the king;

28 But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these;

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 29-30, John 3:22-4:6

Open Heaven 26 November 2018 Monday MESSAGE:

Life is crowded with a lot of mystery, and the secrets of these mysteries are in the hands of the One who created the world. Many times, a lack of knowledge or understanding of these mysteries not only brings trouble to an individual, but also spells doom for his or her destiny. This is why some people desperately and foolishly go after fortune tellers, stargazers and magicians who claim to have a “third eye”. However, if you are a genuine child of God, I congratulate you, because our Father in heaven is the custodian of all the mysteries and secrets of life.

“The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” – Deuteronomy 29:29 (KJV)

It is pleasant to read the words of the above scripture. However, you must not lose sight of the great responsibility contained in it. God reveals secrets and mysteries to us so that we can be in advantage position to do His will. In Matthew 13:10, the disciples of Jesus came to Him and asked, “Why are you speaking to people in parables?” Jesus answered them in Matthew 13:11, saying:

“…Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.”(KJV)

This truth accounts for the type of life the early disciples lived. They were able to turn their world over to God by preaching the mysteries of the gospel. Daniel and his colleagues also had access to the mysteries of heaven, so much so that they could reveal and interpret a dream that was forgotten by a king. None of the best astrologers of their time could unfold these mysteries, even though they tried. Take note of the declaration made by these children of God in Daniel 2:28a:

“But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days.”(KJV)

Beloved, if you want to have access to the secrets and mysteries of life, you must be ready to live by the commandments of God. God will always conceal His secrets and the mysteries of life from those who will make mockery or merchandise of them. However, He reveals these secrets to those who are genuine in their relationship with Him, like He did with Abraham (Genesis 18:17).

Open Heaven 26 November 2018 Monday Prayer Point:

Father, please count me worthy to have access to the secrets of life, and the mysteries thereof, so that I may no longer grope in darkness.

Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.

I need Thee, Oh, I need Thee,
Every hour I need Thee;
Oh bless me now, my Saviour;

Temptations lose their pow’r
When Thou art nigh.

In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.

US migrant who stayed in church for a year arrested

Samuel Oliver-Bruno had been living in a guest room at the City Well United Methodist Church for almost a year.

He is originally from Mexico and came to America in 1994, got married and had a son, but doesn’t yet have the correct documents to stay in the US. He’d been living at the church to avoid staff from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Church members had supported him in this, staying overnight and keeping him company.

The advocacy group Alerta Migratoria NC said Oliver-Bruno left the church on Friday to have fingerprints taken so he could apply to stay in North Carolina with his wife and son.

He was asked to report to a federal office in Morrisville, North Carolina for that appointment to provide a biometrics scan that is required to process his application to remain the US.

Although he went to the office with several members of his church family, he was arrested in the building and dragged outside. His son Daniel was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an ICE officer.

Criminalising the buyer in prostitution would help those trapped, says Christian charity

Christian Action Research and Education’s (CARE) comments coincide with the UN’s ’16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence’, which starts on 25th November – the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – and carries on until 10th December – Human Rights Day.

They say what would change the lives of women and girls dramatically would be making the purchase of sex a criminal offence.

CARE argues that this would reduce demand and help address the fact that although some choose it, many do not.

They say: “Introducing laws to criminalise the buyer of sex targets the inequality, harm and exploitation that is at the heart of prostitution. It also holds those who drive it – the buyers – responsible for their actions.”

Northern Ireland were the first place in the UK to criminalise the purchase of sex in its Human Trafficking and Exploitation Act and the Republic of Ireland introduced a similar law.

Many women who want to leave find it difficult because they may have a criminal record, finding employment difficult as well as many not being English speakers nor having secure accommodation.

CARE’s Senior Policy Officer on Human Trafficking, Louise Gleich said: “All the evidence we have suggests prostitution is one of the most dangerous experiences in the world and we know that the vast majority of people providing sexual…

US migrant detained and 9 church members arrested trying to stop it

Samuel Oliver-Bruno had been living in a guest room at the City Well United Methodist Church for almost a year.

He is originally from Mexico and came to America in 1994, got married and had a son,  but doesn’t yet have the correct documents to stay in the US. He’d been living at the church to avoid staff from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The advocacy group Alerta Migratoria NC said Oliver-Bruno went to have fingerprints taken so he could apply to stay in North Carolina with his wife and son.

Although he went to the office with several of his church family, he was arrested in the building and dragged outside. His son Daniel was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting an ICE officer.

In the church’s account of what happened, they explain how this arrest is a violation of ICE policy as he was surrounded by his church and churches are deemed ‘sensitive locations’.

Sensitive locations are defined as places where children are and:

  • Places of worship, such as churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples;
  • Religious or civil ceremonies or observances, such as funerals and weddings; and
  • During a public demonstration, such as a march, rally, or parade.

Mr Oliver-Bruno was then taken to a detention centre as supporters tried to crowd the vehicle…

Taiwan rejects same-sex marriage in advisory votes

This is despite the fact that a court ruling last year on same sex unions ordered for legislation to be made within the next two years to allow gay marriage as well.

Many LGBT couples were hoping their island would be the first place in Asia to let same-sex couples share child custody and insurance benefits.

There was a series of votes on Saturday, including local elections with caused the President of Taiwan to quit.

Several votes were proposed, each by different groups: one (Case 10) that marriage should stay defined in the civil code as being between a man and a woman (which received 7.6 million votes), one (Case 12) saying same-sex unions should be protected under a different law (6 million) and another (Case 14) asking if same-sex couples should have equal marriage rights (3 million).

Although the ballot initiative is advisory only and politicians face the court deadline next year.

“The legislature has lots of choices on how to make this court order take effect,” said referendum proponent Chen Ke, a Catholic pastor in Taiwan and an opponent of same-sex marriage.

Opposition to same-sex marriage rose after the court ruling in 2017, as opponents held rallies and mobilised votes online.

Courts will still consider local marriage licensing offices in violation of the law by…
