The organization trying to overturn a Massachusetts transgender law is running television ads warning citizens that if the law stands, women and girls will be endangered in restrooms and locker rooms.

In one ad by Keep Massachusetts Safe, a rough-looking man is seen prowling inside a locker room, eventually hiding away in a stall and peeping out. A woman enters the locker room to change clothes.

A “no” vote on Question 3 next week would overturn the law.  

A female narrator warns that if the law stands, “any man who says he is a woman can enter a woman’s locker room, dressing room or bathroom at any time – even convicted sex offenders. And if you see something suspicious and say something to authorities, you could be the one arrested and fined up to $50,000.”

The narrator urges a “no” vote and concludes: “This bathroom bill puts our privacy and safety at risk. It goes too far.”

In another TV ad, a woman describes how the law impacted her daughter. 

“One of our daughters was changing in the locker room, and a boy came in there to change with the rest of the girls,” the mom says. “Our children deserve the right to privacy. … They should be able to change and not feel like their privacy is being invaded.”

Words on the screen warn viewers: “If she tried to stop him, she would face fines or even jail.”

President Trump began his Presidential campaign in 2015 by promising to get to work on the United States’ illegal immigration issue. The course of action he is currently considering would be his most sweeping action yet. 

The President told “Axios on HBO” that he is considering an executive order that would end birthright citizenship for the children of non-citizens and those who are in the country illegally. In the exclusive interview, President Trump told the interviewer that the United States is “the only country in the world where a person comes in and has a baby, and the baby is essentially a citizen of the United States for 85 years, with all of those benefits.” Then he added, “It’s ridiculous, it’s ridiculous. And it has to end.” Academic studies say that more than 30 countries offer birthright citizenship.

The debate over this issue will focus on the wording of the 14^thAmendment, which was passed in the wake of the Civil War. It reads, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”

Changing the wording of an amendment to the Constitution would require a 2/3 vote in the Senate and the ratification of 3/4 of the states. However, some conservative legal scholars argue that the phrase “subject to the jurisdiction…

When Jair Bolsonaro addressed his supporters after they elected him as President of Brazil, he began by saying “I first want to thank God.” According to polls and grassroots efforts, he can also thank a large portion of Brazil’s evangelical community who eagerly supported his candidacy. 

Evangelicals in Brazil were energized for this election because of many frustrations with Brazil’s government. The nation faced increasing crime, economic decline, and rampant government corruption. In addition, evangelicals reacted strongly to the country’s liberalization on issues related to sexuality. One pastor, Bishop Robson Rodovalho, told Reuters that, “The left went too far,” adding, “Indoctrinating school children on sex revolted many parents. Today we are seeing a boiling over of reaction.”

Bolsonaro skyrocketed to prominence in the election through a promise to promote family values, to restore law and order, and to clean out government corruption. The 27-year congressman ran as a political outsider who was uniquely qualified to deal with Brazil’s problems. He has a history of controversial statements and unpopular stands that bolstered his credibility.

This approach resonated with evangelicals. Pastor Silas Malafaia, who leads 50 Brazilian churches, told the Associated Press that Bolsonaro was the kind of man who should lead the nation’s 210 million residents….

U.S. churches are speaking out against President Donald Trump’s decision to move 5,200 U.S. troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in an effort to stop a migrant caravan headed for the U.S. The caravan, which started in Honduras, is estimated to be around 4,000 strong.

According to The Christian Post, church’s and Christian organizations around the nation are defending the asylum seekers and voicing opposition toward the threats of military action at the border.

Catholic Relief Services and Catholic Charities USA, released official statement through the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops asking the government to “treat all people humanely.”  

The statement reads, “We are deeply saddened by the violence, injustice, and deteriorating economic conditions forcing many people to flee their homes in Central America. While nations have the right to protect their borders, this right comes with responsibilities: governments must enforce laws proportionately, treat all people humanely, and provide due process.”

The statement goes on to read, “We affirm that seeking asylum is not a crime. We urge all governments to abide by international law and existing domestic laws that protect those seeking safe haven and ensure that all those who are returned to their home country are protected and repatriated safely.”

The charities then urged the U.S….

I was surrounded by people, a ministry leader, but so desperately lonely and depressed. Up until that point, I’d based so much of God’s love on me getting everything right. When you end up in a psych hospital, that platform has been pulled from beneath you.”

NEW DELHI, October 30, 2018 (Morning Star News) – A policeman in Nepal was reprimanded and punished for talking about his faith in Christ at a public, multi-faith religious gathering earlier this month, sources said.

Dilip Bhadur Gurung, a constable with the Nepal Armed Force Police (NAFP), was on three-month leave when on Oct. 2 from he spoke at the public gathering in Gulmi. A local news reporter published an article critical of his talk and informed Gurung’s superiors.

Gurung was arrested in Palpa the following day and sent back to his department in Tanau. A source who requested anonymity told Morning Star News his superiors there have decided to withhold his departmental promotion for five years as punishment.

Another source said authorities are employing a double standard.

“It is a kind of injustice – if he was talking about Hinduism or Buddhism, he would not have faced any problem,” pastor B.P. Khanal, head of The Lord’s Assembly and a social activist in Nepal said, told Morning Star News. “Taking the name of Jesus is risky in public-speaking; it is an offense against the law. People are biased and are looking for an opportunity to arrest Christians.”

A congregation in South Carolina that had a church building constructed in a single day held their first worship service at the new facility.

The Christ Family Center, located in the small town of Denmark, had about 300 volunteers build a new worship space last week over the course of a day. They held their first service on Sunday.

The project was overseen by the “Church in a Day” ministry of the United Pentecostal Church International’s North American Missions Division.

Pastor Terry Long, director of the ministry, told The Christian Post in an interview on Tuesday that the Christ Family Center was the 138^th such project since the ministry began in the 1980s. According to Long, at least five projects are planned for next year.

Pastor and author Francis Chan recently posted a new documentary to his YouTube channel warning people about the church’s culture of consumerism in America. 

In his “Letters to the Church” series, which coincides with his book by the same title, Chan challenges Christian’s idea of what the church is supposed to look like by asking them to think about what God intends the church to look like. 

Chan asks his audience if they want more from their church experience, if the pure gospel puts them in awe and if they are ready to rethink the church.

According to CBN News, the former teaching pastor of Cornerstone Community Church in Simi Valley, California, and  founder and chancellor of Eternity Bible College told viewers in the latest documentary piece that “In America, Christianity has become this consumer thing.” 

“One of our elders,” he continued, “calls it pastoral malpractice. You are actually ruining people by making them consumers.”

“You are supposed to be turning them into servants,” he urged.

Chan, 51, reminded people that church should not be a consumer transaction noting that we are meant to serve not be served. 

He said, “we don’t come to be served, we serve and give our lives as a ransom for many.”

Bishop Victor Couzens, leader of the 5,000-member Inspirational Bible Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, denied posting a suicidal note on Facebook Sunday just a day after he publicly asked God to help him fight for his job after confessing to having “multiple” extramarital relationships.

“It’s about 6:30 in the morning in Ohio. My Facebook page was hacked. It’s caused a lot of concern with whatever was said. The page has since been deactivated but I wanted ya’ll to see my face and hear my voice. Thank you for your prayers and your concern,” Couzens said in a video addressing the suicide note that was posted on Instagram and shared with The Christian Post. Couzens has made most of his personal social media accounts private since his rampant fornication was made public.

In the since deleted Facebook post, Couzens claims hackers suggested he would commit suicide because he was being unfairly treated by critics who want him to step down from the church he loves.
