New neighbour Simon Cowell ‘finds it hilarious he might bump into the pope’

It is understood the reality television show judge and producer has bought a seven-bed mansion close to the diplomatic office of the Holy See in Wimbledon, south west London.

Referring to the 59 year old, a source told The Sun newspaper: “He finds it hilarious that he might bump into Pope Francis.”

Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI have both stayed at the Apostolic Nunciature to Great Britain building on Parkside.

Cowell – who fathered a son, Eric, with girlfriend American model Lauren Silverman – is keen to move out of central London, according to The Sun.

The media mogul has been the target of two break-ins, including a stalker hiding on a shelf in his walk-in wardrobe in 2012.

The couple are going to splash out £1.3 million on renovations at their new property outside Zone 1.

The source added: “Lauren has hired a team of interior designers to make it super-light, clean and minimalist.”

Pray for NorthGate Christian Church

Location: North Las Vegas, Nevada

Pastor: Greg Niemeyer

Weekly Worship: 8:30 AM & 10:30 AM, Pacific

Fast Facts: One of the early church plants of the Foursquare Church in Las Vegas celebrates its 77th birthday this month. NorthGate Christian has been around since 1941 and has had only seven senior pastors during that span. In 2004, the church relocated from Las Vegas to North Las Vegas—a new mission field of growth. Please pray for their upcoming trunk-or-treat event on October 31st. Last year, more than 5,000 people showed up and this year the church is expecting even more. The greatest concern for the event is crowd control. Pray that God is glorified by the serving of families in Las Vegas.

Voters back scrapping blasphemy offence from Ireland’s constitution

In total, 951,650 (64.85 per cent of the electorate) supported the idea in a referenda held on Friday, while 515,808 (35.15 per cent) opposed it.

Welcoming the result, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar said: “It is very much part of an ongoing campaign in many ways to reform our constitution, to make it a 21st century constitution or a 21st century Republic.”

Since the 1960s, Ireland has undergone a process of social liberalisation, contrasting its strongly-Catholic and conservative past.

Ireland has voted in favour of repealing a series of laws – allowing for divorce, same-sex marriage and early stage abortion, in recent years.

Changing the law concerning blasphemy was backed by the Catholic Church but some Islamic leaders opposed it.

Niall Carson/PA Wire

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar briefs the media on the government’s plans for a referendum on Ireland’s restrictive abortion laws, following a specially convened cabinet meeting at Government Buildings in Dublin.

Since 1855, no one has been prosecuted for blasphemy in Ireland. Yet, anyone convicted could face a fine of 25,000 euros.

Blasphemy was defined as publishing or uttering something “grossly abusive or insulting in relation to matters sacred by any religion, thereby intentionally causing outrage among a substantial number of adherents of that religion”.

The referenda coincided with a…

Bishop of Leicester offers prayers after Leicester City FC helicopter crash

Witnesses described the aircraft – which belonged to Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, the owner of Leicester City Football Club – appearing to spiral out of control before coming down in flames at approximately 8.30pm.

Describing the mood locally, Rt Rev Martyn Snow told Premier: “It is just a complete sense of shock across the city and county.

“Our thoughts and prayers are very, very much with people awaiting news this morning.

“But I’d encourage anybody at all to take just a moment today at least to remember all of those [affected], in particular those who are awaiting news.”

A source was reported by the BBC as saying that Mr Srivaddhanaprabha was on board the helicopter at the time of the crash – but this has not been officially confirmed.

Sky Sports News/PA Wire

The Thai businessman is known to arrive and depart home games at the King Power Stadium in his helicopter.

Bishop Martyn added: “[There are] lots of reports this morning of staff and players in complete shock.

“So, even just holding a moment of quiet or praying in particular for God’s comfort and God’s strengthening for people this morning would, I know, be much appreciated.”

Aaron Chown/PA Wire

Video footage shared on social media showed members of the emergency services rushing towards the scene.

A Leicester City spokesman said: “We are assisting Leicestershire Police and the Emergency Services in…

Joyce Meyer Devotional 28 October 2018 — Peace of Mind

Topic: Peace of Mind [Joyce Meyer Devotional 28 October 2018]

To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

Did you know that when you have lost your peace of mind you have the power to regain it? Anytime you find that you are worrying, fretful, or anxious about anything, release the problem to God through a simple, heartfelt prayer and purposely think about something in your life that is good!

Worrying is completely useless. It wears you out mentally, emotionally and physically, and it doesn’t make your problem any better at all.

Peace of mind is valuable, and it is quite impossible to enjoy life without it. Seek and pursue the peace that is yours through Jesus Christ. Don’t be deceived into believing that you can’t help what you think because you absolutely can.

You can change your mind about anything! Practice on—purpose thinking instead of being passive and merely waiting to see what thoughts fall into your mind.

I can share with you that I experience the same mental battles that many people do, and I have to practice having peace on purpose. You are a child of God, and His peace is in you. I recommend that you start recognizing the things that are stealing your peace and deal with them so they can no longer torment you.

Prayer Starter: Father, I love You very much, and I want to enjoy peace of mind. I know that worry is useless, but I often do it, and I am sorry. Work with me and teach me how to trust You enough to enjoy Your peace at all times. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Excellence by David Ibiyeomie

Excellence by David Ibiyeomie

Topic: Excellence

Excellence is being truly best at something, outstandingly successful. It is surpassing others in some good qualities. It is dong a common thing uncommonly well. Excellence is delivering first-class quality in everything you do.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 (KJV) If the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength: but wisdom is profitable to direct.

If you don’t have a sharpened skill, you may have to put in more strength. The quality of your life is determined by your commitment to excellence. Seek to improve on what you’ve learnt. School will inform you but personal development will transform you. Maximize your potential. There is something you can do that you have not yet done. Challenge yourself to be better than your previous result. Compete with yourself; not people.

God is a God of excellence. When He created all things in Gen. 1, the Bible recorded that it was very good; that means it was excellent. When Jesus came to the earth, Mark 2:12 recorded that people were amazed at Him.

Also Read: Character Development by Pastor Paul Enenche

Mark 2:12b…insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, we never saw it on this fashion.

To be excellent, you must learn to never give up. That someone is opposing you does not mean you should give up. Do not look at the Goliath; look at the crown after the Goliath. That things are not showing does not mean things are not working. To easily give up means to not get to the top.

Hebrews 10:36a (KJV) For ye have need of patience.

You must embrace self-discipline to excel. You may not like what you are doing but you should continue to get what you want. You easily excel when you have a good character. Pay the price to build character. Shallowness of character leads to pride, greed and abuse of power. Character is having the will to do the right thing even when it is hard.

Philippians 3:8b (KJV) For whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.

Challenge yourself, improve continuously from your present state and excel.

Teens Open Heavens 28 October 2018 – Be Time Conscious

Topic: Be Time Conscious [Teens Open Heavens 28 October 2018]

Memorise: “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.”Psalm 90:12

Read: Psalm 90:12-15 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 23-24, 2 Timothy 2

MESSAGE:

Because your days are few, whatever problems we go through are timed and must come to an end at some point. Are you going through a persistent negative experience? Or are you hit like Job, and you are thinking of giving up? Don’t! No problem can extend its life span, this is why Ecclesiastes 3:1 says everything has its season. Besides, when God allows you go through a trial of faith, he also allows some temporary suspension or relief to enable you endure that trial.

It is because of this brevity of life on earth, that there is a need to be prudent with time. To get the best out of life, you must operate daily with a consciousness of time. Life is about what you can achieve for your Creator within the time you have been given. Profitably engage your seconds and minutes from today!

Action Point: If you do not know that your trial of faith is for a moment, Satan will make it last for a long time. Resist any unauthorized extension of your trial.

Hymn 2:

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for theres no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

MFM Daily Devotional 28 October 2018 – The Mystery Of Open Heavens

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 28 October 2018 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – The Mystery Of Open Heavens

TOPIC: The Mystery of Open Heavens (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Daily Devotional 28 October 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ezekiel 1:1-4

MEMORY VERSE: “And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:” – Acts 10:11

The MESSAGE:

No one can receive from God unless the heavens open over him or her. A destiny remains stagnant until the heavens open and a connection is made. Beloved, you have a personal heaven and your heaven houses your personal star. For your star to shine, your heaven must open. It is very possible for someone’s heaven to be closed. That is why in Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), we pray for the heavens over our heads to open by fire. When the heavens open, heavenly resources will descend on you and you will receive unhindered and an unusual manifestation of divine and angelic visitation.

When the heavens open, there will be divine turning point for those who have been heading in the wrong direction. There will be a release of abundance of blessings, the opening of eyes to see breakthroughs for those who are actually blind, the release of power to the powerless, favour and love to those with mark of hatred and divine presence with divine recovery. If the heaven does not open to one’s life, demons will surely overcome the life and the person will always struggle to survive, as he or she cannot receive any good thing from the Lord. Many Christians are suffering today because their heavens are closed. One’s heaven may be closed as a result of sins that open doors for satanic attacks. Many times in the Old Testament, the heaven was shut against the children of Israel as a result of their disobedience to God’s commandments and they got sold into slavery to be oppressed by their enemies. God always had pity on them. As soon as they repented of their sins, God opened the heaven over them and restored everything they had lost. For you to enjoy open heaven, you must stay away from sins. Your heaven over your head can remain open when you live a holy life and commune with your Maker persistently after the order of Jesus.

A well-educated man with a PhD and a first class honours could not find a job. He was always rejected on the fact that he was too intelligent and over-qualified. One would think that his excellent performance in school in addition to his certificates should make way for him. The situation persisted for years.

You need to pray for open heavens today and on daily basis to avoid spiritual darkness. Repent of your sins and be always obedient to God and be diligent. Learn to pray aggressive and consistent prayers to deal with spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. Pay your tight as and when due. Give sacrificially and praise God as David did, and your heaven shall continually remain open.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
A LIFE OF PRAYER GIVES YOU AN EDGE OVER THE DEVIL.

PROPHETIC WORD:
The heavens over your head are open and resources of heaven to succeed are being released unto you.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Father, I thank You for blessing me with open heavens, in the name of Jesus.
2. Wicked principalities in the heavenlies, assigned to close my heavens, die by fire, in the name of Jesus.
3. Powers maintaining closed heavens against me and my testimonies, die, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING
4. Wisdom of witchcraft to place me under closed heavens, die, in Jesus’ name.
5. Power of God, come down and break open the closed heaven working against my life, in Jesus’ name.
6. Anointing of open heaven, begin to rain upon my life, in the name of Jesus.
7. As from today, I declare NO MORE CLOSED HEAVEN. I shall continue to operate under open heavens, in Jesus’ name.

DCLM Daily Manna 28 October 2018 – What Doest Thou Here?

Topic: What Doest Thou Here? [DCLM Daily Manna 28 October 2018 Daily Devotional by Pastor William Folorunso Kumuyi]

Text: 1 Kings 19:1-10 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah? (1 Kings 19:9).

MESSAGE:

Elijah had doubtless fought a good fight of faith by single-handedly defeating, disgracing and destroying 450 prophets of Baal at the contest on Mount Carmel. Jezebel, the wicked wife of King Ahab, was most aggrieved and thus sent a threatening message to Elijah for what the great prophet had done. She swore never to stop until she destroyed Elijah.

Elijah seemed to have forgotten that the God of heaven who granted him victory on Mount Carmel was still there to protect him. He forgot that God would never lose any battle. As Elijah fled, God reckoned that he was running away from the path of duty and therefore was not in a place he was supposed to be at that point in time. For this reason, God asked him a pertinent question, “What doest thou here, Elijah?” Elijah’s great faith on Mount Carmel seemed to have vaporised at Horeb, the Mount of God.

The great questions every believer should ask himself or herself now are: Am I where I should be? Am I still on the path of duty? Am I planning to run away from where God is using me for His glory because of fear or a threat from a Jezebel or from any wicked personality? Am I planning to quit the ministry because of despair? The counsel of God for you is that you should not allow the fear of man to distract you because the fear of man brings one into a snare and perdition. As a child of God, you should not allow despair or success in ministry to hinder you from continuing in the work of the Lord.

Thought For The Day: Quitters never win, and winners never quit.

Kenneth & Gloria Copeland Devotional 28 October 2018 – Enjoy the Victory

Topic: Enjoy the Victory [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland Devotional 28 October 2018]

But thanks be to God, Who gives us the victory [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Corinthians 15:57, The Amplified Bible

Victors! More than conquerors! That’s what the Bible says we are. I know you’ve heard that many times before, but today I want you to let the reality of it really sink in. I want you to spend some time meditating about what those terms actually mean.

The dictionary says that victory means “final and complete supremacy or superiority in battle or war, success in any contest or struggling involving the defeat of an opponent or the overcoming of obstacles.”

To conquer means “to get the better of in competition or struggle, to master, suppress, prevail over, overwhelm, surmount, to gain superiority, to subdue, to vanquish, to crush, to defeat.”

Once you get those definitions firmly in mind, you’ll realize in Jesus you’ve gotten much more than a ticket to heaven. You’ve gotten the best of the world you’re living in now. Through Him, you’ve overcome it, mastered it, suppressed it and prevailed over it.

No wonder 1 Corinthians 15:57 shouts, “Thanks be to God Who gives us the victory, [making us conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ” (The Amplified Bible)!

Why don’t you shout too! Shout thanks to God today for making you an overcomer. Praise Him that you are joined up with the One who has conquered the world, the flesh and the devil. Shout hallelujah and enjoy the victory!
