Senate Judiciary Committee Releases Anonymous Letter with Fourth Accusation against Kavanaugh

Senate Judiciary Committee Releases Anonymous Letter with Fourth Accusation against Kavanaugh

An anonymous letter has been released by the Senate Judiciary Committee outlining a fourth allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The letter, posted on Twitter by CBN News, is completely anonymous and appears to be written by the mother of a daughter whose friend was allegedly assaulted by Kavanaugh in 1998.

The letter reads, “when he [Brett Kavanaugh] was author of the Starr Report, my daughter (from Boulder Colorado) occasionally socialized with Brett Kavanaugh.”

“She and a group of four (including Kavanaugh met in a Washington D.C. bar). Her friend was dating him. When they left the bar (under the influence of alcohol) they were all shocked when Brett Kavanaugh shoved her friend up against the wall very aggressively and sexually,” it continues.

The letter goes on to say that the woman who was allegedly assaulted called the author’s daughter on September 21 to seek guidance on whether or not she should come forward with the allegation, noting that they decided that she should remain anonymous.

The letter makes mention of “at least four witnesses” being present.

Thousands of Christians Gather in Prayer at State Capitals Across America

Thousands of Christians Gather in Prayer at State Capitals Across America

This week tens of thousands of Christians are gathering for mass prayer and worship in state capitals across the United States.

As a part of an event called “Tent America 2018,” hosted by Awaken the Dawn, Christians from across the U.S. are heading to their state capitals for a three-day prayer session and celebration where they will pray for the healing of our nation and celebrate the works God is doing.

The event is running from September 27-29 and is taking place simultaneously with the Feast of Tabernacles which is happening in Israel.

The event will have a tent city set up where people can come to worship, listen to and sing music, pray and hear gospel proclamations. According to Awake the Dawn, the hope is to be able to bring prayer tents to all 50 state capitals as well as to hundreds of college campuses across the country.

According to the Awaken the Dawn website, “The Tent of Meeting represents the raw, unfiltered presence of God, unrestrained by cultural norms – extending an invitation to weak men and women to cry out to meet with Him, face-to-face. This is the cry that must arise from the generations as we tabernacle together in September: We want to meet with You face-to-face! …John 1:14 declares that ‘the Word became flesh and dwelt among us’ – we want Jesus to tabernacle among us during Tent America 2018 in His full…

Historical Evidence for the Exodus May Have Been Found

Historical Evidence for the Exodus May Have Been Found

Archaeologists may have found historical evidence for the biblical account of the Exodus near the River Jordan.

Experts are currently analyzing ruins near the River Jordan as potential proof that the story of the Exodus, is more than a legend and indeed a historical fact.

According to U.K. Daily Express, a United Kingdom media outlet, archaeologists generally agree that the Israelites were natives of Canaan, which contradicts the account in the Biblical book of Exodus.

According to the Bible, Moses liberated the Israelites from Egypt leading them through Sinai and across the River Jordan to Canaan.

Archaeologists Ralph K. Hawkins and David Ben-Shlomo have now found some evidence in the Jordan Valley site of Khirbet el-Mastarah, which they believe are remnants of ruins from a nomadic people who they believe to be the Hebrews coming from Egypt.

On Tuesday Ben-Shlomo told U.K. Daily Express that based on his expertise the ruins offer great potential to be evidence for the Exodus.

“We have not proved that these camps are from the period of the early Israelites, but it is possible,” noted Ben-Shlomo.

“If they are, this might fit the biblical story of the Israelites coming from east of the Jordan River, then crossing the Jordan and entering into the hill country of Israel later.”

Ben-Shlomo and Hawkins published their findings in the July/August 2018 edition of Biblical…

Salvation Army host annual homelessness football tournament

The Salvation Army’s annual homelessness football tournament, The Partnership Trophy, took place in Manchester on Thursday with the special guest this year being the UK’s greatest female footballer, Kelly Smith – a former Arsenal player with over 100 caps for England.

After meeting the players and sharing some tips in a skills session between matches, she spoke to Premier: “The atmosphere today here is buzzing. I’m literally having so much fun. I’ve just done a little football session for some of the players that are in between games and there’s a lot of banter going on and a lot of competitive-nature players here giving it their all.

“There’s a few female players which is nice to see but, yeah, it’s a very competitive tournament that I think a lot of them want to win!”

They all had a Q and A session with Smith over lunch where she explained why she left England to pursue football elsewhere, spoke about her difficulty with injury, alcohol addiction and feeling insecure.

She said: “I just shared my story – my highs, my lows – that you can reach your goals if you talk to people, rather than just being so isolated and not speaking to anyone and being in your own head. Share your problems – and that’s kind of the message I tried to get across to a lot of the people here today.”

Judge Overturns Hawaii Law Requiring Pregnancy Centers to Distribute Information about Abortion and Contraception

Judge Overturns Hawaii Law Requiring Pregnancy Centers to Distribute Information about Abortion and Contraception

A federal judge has reversed law in Hawaii requiring pro-life pregnancy centers to display information about government contraception and abortion programs.

The judge struck down this law after a recent decision was made by the Supreme Court in the case of Nat’l Inst. of Family & Life Advocates v. Becerra which found a similar statute to be unconstitutional.

In the decision document released on Thursday, U.S. District Judge Derrick Watson wrote, “In light of the United States Supreme Court’s decision in Nat’l Inst. of Family & Life Advocates v. Becerra, and the parties’ stipulation for entry of permanent injunction and final judgment in favor of plaintiffs, it is hereby ordered … that Hawaii revised statutes § 321-561(b)-(c) [are] declared to be unconstitutional under the United States Constitution as applied to plaintiffs with respect to plaintiffs’ First Amendment free speech claim.”

In July, A Place for Women Pregnancy Care Center and the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates filed suit to challenge the S.B. 501 bill that required all “limited service” pregnancy centers to display or distribute information that states in part:

“Hawaii has public programs that provide immediate free or low-cost access to comprehensive family planning services, including, but not limited to, all…

Refugees need spiritual aid, not just humanitarian aid says Christian charity

Major General Abbas Ibrahim, head of Lebanon’s General Security directorate, said at the weekend that his security agency had planned the return of 25,000 Syrians and that another 25,000 had made their own way home.

The UN High Commission for Refugees estimates that there are still 976,000 Syrian refugees in Lebanon.

Michel Constantin, the regional director of Pontifical Mission, a church initiative which helps people in Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, told Premier returning home is not a reasonable possibility for many refugees who have fled from Syria to Lebanon because of the destruction that has taken place in their home towns. However, staying in the country they have fled to isn’t any better, he says.

Constantin has lived in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, all his life and explained how the influx of people has taken its toll: “The presence of 2 million Syrian and Iraqi refugees – and Palestinian refugees – in Lebanon is considered a big burden on everything – on the economy, on the infrastructures, socially. And Lebanon is not a place where people can find refuge.”

However, he added: “The refugees will not return to their country, they will be in a miserable case, a miserable life and also the host community will face the same misery.”

Constantin said the answer was for the church and charities, such as Pontifical Mission, to rebuild the home towns and the…

U.S. Health and Human Services Department Cut Contract to Purchase “Fetal Tissue” for Testing

U.S. Health and Human Services Department Cut Contract to Purchase “Fetal Tissue” for Testing

The U.S. Health and Human Services Department has cut its contract with a biomedical procurement company that would have allowed the FDA to purchase “fetal tissue” for drug testing.

The decision comes after 85 members of Congress signed a letter to FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb, calling for an end to the contract.

“Unborn children are not commodities to be bought and sold,” the letter said. “The practice of conducting research using the body parts of children whose lives have been violently ended by abortion is abhorrent.”

The FDA initially wanted to contract with the company to buy fetal tissue that would have been used for research, but this week HHS announced it would not be working with the company and canceled the $15,000 contract.

“HHS was not sufficiently assured that the contract included the appropriate protections applicable to fetal tissue research or met all other procurement requirements,” the department said in a statement released Tuesday.

HHS also said it would review all federal contracts that involve buying fetal tissue.

According to NBC News, in previous years, the HHS has said that fetal tissue “continues to be a critical resource for important efforts such as research on degenerative eye disease, human development disorders such as Down syndrome, and infectious diseases, among a host…

Continuing Coverage: The Kavanaugh-Ford Hearing

Continuing Coverage: The Kavanaugh-Ford Hearing

Christian Headlines is live blogging the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing involving Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford:

10:37 a.m. – Ford told the committee in her opening statement, “I am here today not because I want to be. I am terrified. I am here because I believe it is my civic duty to tell you what happened to me while Brett Kavanaugh and I were in high school. I have described the events publicly before. I summarized them in my letter to Ranking Member Feinstein, and again in my letter to Chairman Grassley.”

Ford then described the allegation: “One evening that summer, after a day of swimming at the club, I attended a small gathering at a house in the Chevy Chase/Bethesda area. There were four boys I remember being there: Brett Kavanaugh, Mark Judge, P.J. Smyth, and one other boy whose name I cannot recall. I remember my friend Leland Ingham attending.

“… I truly wish I could provide detailed answers to all of the questions that have been and will be asked about how I got to the party, where it took place, and so forth.

“… Brett and Mark were visibly drunk. Early in the evening, I went up a narrow set of stairs leading from the living room to a second floor to use the restroom. When I got to the top of the stairs, I was pushed from behind into a bedroom. I couldn’t see who pushed me. Brett and Mark came into…
