Actor Mark Wahlberg Shares That He Begins His Day with 30 Minutes of Prayer

Mark Wahlberg recently shared his daily routine in a story on his Instagram account.

Wahlberg, Hollywood’s highest paid actor in 2017, undertook his intense daily routine to prepare for his role in the upcoming film Mile 22. However, prayer has been central in his life for several years.

In 2010, Wahlberg told the Catholic Herald that “Being a Catholic is the most important aspect of my life.” Then he added, “The first thing I do when I start my day is, I get down on my hands and knees and give thanks to God. Whenever I go outside of my house, the first thing I do is stop at the church. The kids will be mad with me. ‘Daddy! It takes too long!’ I’m saying: ‘It’s only 10 minutes and this is something I really need to do.’ Because I do. If I can start my day out by saying my prayers and getting myself focused, then I know I’m doing the right thing. That 10 minutes helps me in every way throughout the day.”

Wahlberg has also expressed regret over some of the roles he played earlier in his career, especially one in an Oscar-nominated film in which he portrayed a porn star. He told Cardinal Blase Cupich at an event in Chicago that, “I just always hope that God is a movie fan and also forgiving because I’ve made some poor choices in my past.” When Cupich asked if he regretted any of his movie roles, he said, “Boogie Nights is up there…

Since 2016 Hamas Has Used 17,000 Children in War Against Israel

Since 2016 Hamas Has Used 17,000 Children in War Against Israel

According to The Jerusalem Institute of Justice (JIJ), Hamas has misused approximately 17,000 children to aid them in their war efforts since 2016. The JIJ sent the International Criminal Court (ICC) in Hague a request asking to sue Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh for war crimes against these children.

Arutz Sheva, an Israeli national news site, reports, that in the request, the JIJ cites testimonies illustrating two main war crimes committed by Haniyeh. The first crime the JIJ cited was the use of children under the age of 15 for military purposes. This includes using the children as soldiers and using them to carry out terror attacks.

The second crime Haniyeh is being accused of is using children as human shields and military targets.

In May Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan spoke with Arutz Sheva about the violent riots along the Israel-Gaza border saying, “I thank the IDF soldiers and commanders for their determined actions near the Gaza border.” Dahan continued saying, “Hamas continues sending children to the border fence, while their leaders sit in their comfortable offices. The IDF is the most moral army in the world, and works hard to avoid causing deaths.”

Along with the violent use of children in war, Haniyeh is also being charged with orchestrating a widescale use of torture and illegal killing. These acts were carried out by Hamas’ internal security…

Family Receives Miracle After 10 Y-O Son Was Impaled in Face by Skewer

Family Receives Miracle After 10 Y-O Son Was Impaled in Face by Skewer

A 10-year-old Missouri boy, Xavier Cunningham, received a miracle this weekend after falling face first into a meat skewer.

According to the family’s GoFundMe page which was set up to help pay for Cunningham’s medical expenses, Cunningham was in his neighbor’s treehouse with some friends when they were attacked by a swarm of yellow jackets. The boy fell out of the tree and landed face first on a skewer that pierced through his head all the way to the back of his neck.

Cunningham was rushed to the hospital and according to Fox 4 KC, he was transferred to three separate hospitals before being admitted to the University of Kansas Hospital.

Dr. Koji Ebersole, the endovascular neurosurgery director at the KU hospital, assessed the skewers path in Xavier’s face, explaining in a YouTube video posted by the university, that he was “amazed that he was alive, let alone, awake and talking.”

Ebersole explained the injury saying, “this is passing 6 inches through the face, just underneath the skull, all the way to the back of the neck.”

He continues noting that skewer missed two critical blood vessels to Xavier’s brain by a millimeter, and if the skewer was any closer to either of them, the injury would likely have been “unsurvivable.”

Ebersole expressed the miraculous nature of Cunningham’s injury saying, “But it went right next to it and right next to…

Most Christian Students Believe College Is About Making Money: Study

(PHOTO: SHUTTERSTOCK)Barna found that nearly 70 percent of adults polled reported that they believe that a college education is to “prepare for a specific job or career,” and just over 50 percent say it is to “increase financial opportunities.”

The vast majority of evangelical Christians believe a university degree is primarily about training for a specific job and increased financial opportunities — not spiritual formation, a recent study shows.

In partnership with the Association for Biblical Higher Education, the Barna Group conducted an extensive study highlighting Christian students’ attitudes about higher education titled “Why Go to College?”

Researchers found that “practicing Christians,” who said they attend religious services weekly, and “evangelicals,” who met nine theological criteria, are even more pragmatic and career-oriented with regard to the purpose of higher education than the survey’s non-Christian respondents.

In fact, nearly 70 percent of adults polled reported that they believe that a college education is to “prepare for a specific job or career,” and just over 50 percent said it is to “increase financial opportunities.” Approximately 50 percent also believe a college education is obtained in order to “stay competitive in today’s job market.”

Ranked at the bottom of the survey were answers including “learn how to make a difference in the world,” “develop moral character,” and “encourage spiritual character.” Just 7 percent of self-identified Christians said college is for encouraging spiritual growth, and just 14 percent said it’s for developing moral character.”

Christian Singer Blanca Opens Up About Writing New Album Following Her Mother’s Passing

Christian Singer Blanca Opens Up About Writing New Album Following Her Mother’s Passing

On Friday, Christian Pop artist Blanca released her vulnerable sophomore album titled Shattered.  Blanca began the writing process for this album shortly after her mom, whom she describes as her best friend, passed away from cancer.

In an interview with The Christian Post Blanca said, “I just walked through a very difficult time, I lost my mom to cancer and it was right at the beginning of this process to write for a record.” The Word Entertainment’s singer shared, “I walked into some of these writing sessions feeling completely shattered and empty and broken.” She continued, “I didn’t know what to give but I knew that that’s exactly where I needed to write from.”

Blanca noted that the fans will hear her “honest heart through the songs” on this album.

When asked why it was important to be transparent, Blanca responded saying, “The only way that you can fully be whole, the only way that you can truly connect with God is by allowing Him to have all of you.”

The resident New Yorker explained that this was difficult for her, admitting that she doesn’t like to deal with pain or conflict, but she also knew she had to face this tragedy head-on.

Blanca told the outlet, “It’s so crucial as Christians, to be honest, and real with who you are and where you’re at because that’s the only place that you can fully find healing and restoration, and God…

New House Bill Would Protect VidAngel, Allow It to Stream Disney Movies

New House Bill Would Protect VidAngel, Allow It to Stream Disney Movies

A member of the House of Representatives introduced a bill Thursday that would protect filtering/streaming services like VidAngel in federal law.

A federal judge in 2016 ruled that VidAngel– a service popular among traditional and Christian families – could not filter movies from Disney, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox and Lucasfilm. An appeals court subsequently upheld that ruling.

VidAngel then launched a streaming service in 2017 that filters content not made by those studios, including much of the popular content on Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu.

Under the bill, H.R.6816, the Family Entertainment and Copyright Act of 2005 would be amended to make clear it protects streaming services, too, and not just DVD players. It was sponsored by Rep. Mia Love, a Republican, and has four co-sponsors. The new bill is called The Family Movie Act Clarification Act of 2018.

VidAngel’s technology allows families to filter out edgy content from movies such as coarse language, nudity, and excess violence. Another company, ClearPlay, offers its own filtering service. Both companies would be protected.

The Protect Family Rights Coalition (PFRC) applauded the bill.

“The 2005 Family Movie Act was a long and extremely hard-fought battle in which we were outspent and outmanned, and yet despite major pressure from Hollywood, were able to convince both parties…

Texas Megachurch Owes Former Pastor and Wife $3.7M in Retirement Benefits, Jury Says

(Photo: Facebook)Crossroads Christian Church in Grand Prairie, Texas.

Crossroads Christian Church in Grand Prairie, Texas, will have to pay nearly $4 million to Mel Dietz, its former executive pastor, and his wife, Vicki, after a jury decided this week that the church failed to provide the couple with supplemental retirement benefits despite employing them for more than 20 years.

A release from the law firm representing the couple, Clouse Brown PLLC, said Dietz worked at the church that preaches financial freedom, from 1995–2015. He oversaw church operations and multiple construction projects at the 150-acre campus of the more than 8,000-member megachurch.

An old description of his role, provided by the church online prior to his departure, said: “Mel Dietz oversees all financial responsibilities at Crossroads and his wisdom, alongside Pastor Cameron’s, has enabled Crossroads to be completely debt free. He also has taken the lead in the building projects of Crossroads’ main building, SportCenter, children’s and youth buildings.”

Christian Blogger Under Police Watch After Receiving Death Threats for Pro-Life Tweet

Christian Blogger Under Police Watch After Receiving Death Threats for Pro-Life Tweet

Denise McAllister, Fox News guest and contributor to news site PJ Media, says she and her family have received death threats after she tweeted a pro-life statement.

McAllister says she has been receiving rape and murder threats after she tweeted that “the root of abortion hysteria is women’s unhinged desire for irresponsible sex. Sex is their god. Abortion is their sacrament. It’s abhorrent as women have flung themselves from the heights of being the world’s civilized force to the muck and mire of dehumanizing depravity.”

She says people began to send her threats to her private inbox.

“They are threats outside of Twitter, stating they know where I live,” McAllister told JP Media. “Threats of rape and strangling.”

“My children are very frightened,” she added.

This week, she told her followers she would be taking a break from social media.

“Due to threats against my life, my family is asking that I stay off social media until the situation is resolved,” she said. “I don’t want to, but I need to respect their wishes at this time. I hope to return soon. Keep up the good fight, my friends.”

McAllister also added that she is working with police and her home is under police surveillance.

“I am facing legit death & rape threats because I have dared to call out women who are hysterical about abortion and to challenge them to be…

Romania Government Moves to BAN Same-Sex Marriage

Romania Government Moves to BAN Same-Sex Marriage

Much of the world may be embracing same-sex marriage, but Romania – with its strong Christian influence – is going in the opposite direction.

The country’s Senate voted 107-13 on Tuesday in favor of a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman, one year after the lower house – the Chamber of Deputies – also passed it.

The amendment now will appear on the ballot this fall for voters to consider. Three million Romanian citizens in 2016 signed a petition asking the government to place such an amendment on the ballot.

According to Newsweek, seven European countries — Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovakia – already define marriage in their respective constitutions as between a man and a woman.

“We’ve been a Christian nation for 2,000 years,” said Romanian Sen. Serban Nicolae, according to the Associated Press.

Fifteen European countries have legalized same-sex marriage, Newsweek reported.

A Pew Research Center survey released in June found that Romanians consider religion to be more important in their lives than most of Europe does.

“The share of adults who consider religion to be very important in their lives is generally low in Europe, where 23% of survey respondents in the average country say this,” the report said. “[But] Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia and Romania, where at least half…

John MacArthur Claims Social Justice Is Threat to Gospel, Russel Moore Responds

John MacArthur Claims Social Justice Is Threat to Gospel, Russel Moore Responds

Last week, John MacArthur, president of The Master’s College and Seminary, led the signing of a statement that condemned evangelical’s “newfound obsession with the notion of ‘social justice,'” and was met with signatures from over 3,000 other evangelicals who supported the statement.

Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, has responded to John MacArthur’s recent claims that evangelicals’ embrace of social justice is a threat to the Gospel.

The Christian Post reports that Moore recently sat down with the hosts of Holy Post Podcast to discuss MacArthur’s statement and social justice within the Church.

“The Statement on Social Justice and the Gospel” asserts that the Bible’s teachings are being protested against by “the broad and somewhat nebulous rubric of concern for ‘social justice,” stating that “values borrowed from secular culture are currently undermining Scripture in the areas of race and ethnicity, manhood and womanhood, and human sexuality.”

When asked if he believed the separation of the Bible and social justice was helpful, Moore responded by saying, “No, because the Bible doesn’t put those two things in separate categories.” He continued, “Sometimes what people want to do is to essentially do with public justice what other people do with personal morality.”

“You will have…
