Deut.28:1 -And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

You have been created for the top only. Being at the bottom is never God’s intention but your choice to make.

Deut.30:19 -I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that both thou and thy seed may live:

The bottom is too crowded in such a manner that no man will ever make room for you or vacate his place for you. For instance, in politics – anyone who grabs power does not ever wish to relinquish that position for another; no wonder the quest for money and fame irrespective of how it is acquired. Therefore, you have to create a way to move yourself to the top if you must have a voice on the earth.

Though God designed you for the top, it does not happen automatically. The top is only guaranteed if you are willing to pay the ultimate price.

Isaiah 1:19 -If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land:

There are some scriptural principles that guarantee one for the top. One of them is the law of right association. In life, who you follow determines what follows you and the company you keep determines what accompanies you. Thus, if you must hit the top, associate with people that are better than you or with like-minds. Stay around those who will inspire your faith for the top.

Prov.13:20 -He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

Another principle is the law of action and reaction. Life will never give you what you deserve but only what you demand; and demand comes from reaction. It is only by doing what is required that will guarantee that which you desire.

Amos 6:1 -Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came!

Do not be afraid to face the storms of life. Those who are afraid of the storm will never walk on water. Always reason your way out of every challenge of life and that will move your life to where it ought to be. You should also dare to be different because it is only then that you can make a difference in life as no one gets to the top by being conventional. Change your approach to things and you will get to your desired height in life in the name of Jesus Christ- Amen!

Topic: You Will Not Go Empty [TREM 13 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

“And she said, these six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, go not empty unto thy mother in law”. – Ruth 3:17(KJV)

I am tired of people who say they are Christians, blood-bought, Spirit-filled believers, but when the chips are down and the battle rages, they fall like a pack of cards. That will not be your portion. In Ruth 3, Naomi said to Ruth, when you get to the kinsman redeemer, rest at his feet. Don’t do anything, just rest! She rested from night till morning. When the man woke up and saw her, he said, bring your veil. This was a woman who was reaping behind the reapers in the field, just gathering the little leftovers that were usually left for the poor. But this time around, the owner of the field said, don’t work, I will give you. She was given six measures of barley without working. Six! When she laboured, she got one. Without labour, she got six. Then he said to her, it’s not finished yet. Your destination is not the six; you are going to end up owning the whole thing.

You know the story. From that time, Boaz took over, working for Ruth. He did all the work until Ruth was catapulted from the lineage of those who had hitherto been denied, into the lineage of Jesus. I declare to you that a change is coming into your life. You will never remain where they left you. You will spring a surprise. Even if you failed in time past, I see you bouncing back.

Child of God, Jesus is irrevocably and unconditionally committed to you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. You are irresistible to Him. He is not putting up with you. He is not tolerating you as some would. No! He wants to hear your voice. You are so important to Him. He has not called you to abandon you. He doesn’t jump ship. He doesn’t run away when the battle is raging. He will always be there for you until all He has promised you, has been fulfilled.

And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor. – Isaiah 59:16

When someone hurts us, our natural human reaction is to strike back…to ask God to clobber them. But that’s not God’s way.

I realized that one time when some relatives of mine got robbed. I was praying about the situation and puzzling over it. “Lord,” I began to ask, “why did You let that happen? Why didn’t You just knock that thief over the head when he tried to do that?”

Suddenly, God enabled me to back up from that situation and look at it with spiritual, instead of just purely natural, eyes.

When I did that, I knew the answer to my question almost as quickly as I had asked it. It was because of His mercy. God has great, great mercy. Not just for me and my family but for others too.

Think about that next time someone does you wrong. Instead of asking God to knock that person in the head, like I did, consider the fact that—as ornery as he may be—he may well have a grandmother somewhere who’s praying for him to be saved. Stop and remember that God loved him enough to die for him, that He’s longing to pardon—not punish him.

Then you can begin to pray for him instead of against him, uniting yourself with his grandmother (or anyone else who happens to be praying for him). You can go to the Lord for mercy for him and you can go up against the devil on his behalf. That’s real intercession and it throws the forces of darkness into total confusion. They have absolutely no defense against it.

The Lord is looking for people who are bold enough, committed enough to do that. Dare to be one of them. When you’re tempted to clobber someone, dare to change his life instead.

She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. Matthew 1:21

“Gip” Hardin, a Methodist preacher, named his son after the famous preacher John Wesley, reflecting Gip’s hopes and aspirations for his baby boy. John Wesley Hardin, however, tragically chose a different path than his ministry-minded namesake. Claiming to have killed forty-two men, Hardin became one of the most notorious gunfighters and outlaws of the American West of the late 1800s.

In the Bible, as in many cultures today, names hold special significance. Announcing the birth of God’s Son, an angel instructed Joseph to name Mary’s child “Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). The meaning of Jesus’s name—“Jehovah saves”—confirmed His mission to save from sin.

Unlike Hardin, Jesus completely and thoroughly lived up to His name. Through His death and resurrection, He accomplished His mission of rescue. John affirmed the life-giving power of Jesus’s name, saying, “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31). The book of Acts invites everyone to trust Him, for, “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

All who call on Jesus’s matchless name in faith can experience for themselves the forgiveness and hope He provides. Have you called on His name?

Prayer: Thank You, Father, for providing salvation through Your Son, Jesus. I love You.

Jesus’s name is also His mission—to seek and to save that which was lost.

Thought For The Day: A change of thoughts translates into a change of action and a change of action translates into a change of outcome.

There is a purpose for every Word of God. The Word of God has a well-defined assignment or ministry to fulfil on Earth. That is why God makes us to understand that the Word that proceeds from His Mouth has a definite purpose to fulfil (Isaiah 55:10-12). Therefore, it is very important to understand the assignment or ministry of the Word of God in the life of the Christians.

So, what is the ministry of the Word?
God’s Word renews or renovates mind-set
God sends His Word to renew or renovate the mind and thought patterns of man (Isaiah 55:8-9). This means that the Word of God is the container of the thoughts of God; the Word contains God’s ways of thinking. So, association with the Word of God is renovation of mentality. Every time we step into the Word of God, our mentality is sharpened, our mind-set begins to change, our ways of thinking begin to change and our thoughts are renewed and renovated.

You know, whenever thought changes, action changes; a change of thought equals a change of action and a change of action equals a change of outcome. So, continuous contact with the Word equals upgrade of mentality and upgrade of mentality equals upgrade of activity, and upgrade of activity equals upgrade of destiny.

Beloved, my counsel is, do not just read the Bible religiously, study it and let it change your mind-set.

Remember this: A change of thoughts translates into a change of action and a change of action translates into a change of outcome.

1. Make up your mind to study God’s Word diligently.
2. Allow God’s Word to renew and renovate your mind-set for a profitable and productive life and destiny.

Open Heavens 13 September 2018 Thursday MESSAGE:

When you expound the things of God to the “wise men” of this world, they will consider you to be a fool. When you talk about the resurrection of the dead and the outcome of Jesus’ death and resurrection, they will use their limited knowledge of the natural world to demonstrate your “foolishness”. It is ironic that those who profess themselves to be wise in this world are declared to be fools before God (Romans 1:22). As a believer in Christ, you should therefore not be offended if you are classified as foolish by the “wise men” of this world. Based on the words of our memory verse, if the world considers you to be foolish because your life is based on the principles of God’s word, you are blessed indeed. Remember that the devil came to our first parents disguised as a loving guidance counselor. He advised them to follow his diabolical wisdom, and this led them into a state of foolishness. They realised belatedly that the wisdom the devil was introducing them to was actually foolishness in disguise, and ever since then, the wisdom that fills the hearts of men is the perverted wisdom of the devil, otherwise known as craftiness (1 Corinthians 3:19). This manifests as wisdom to cheat and get ahead of a neighbour, wisdom to defraud the government, wisdom to pervert the course of justice and wisdom to do diabolical things. In contrast to this, the wisdom of God cries out in Proverbs 8:5-8 saying:

“5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.”

This scripture reveals the nature and character of godly wisdom. You will observe that these characteristics are in direct opposition to what the children of this world consider as wisdom. Any wisdom that does not cut corners is considered foolishness by the children of this world. What they consider to be wisdom leads to both earthly and eternal perdition. A good example of the wisdom of the world is what Absalom exhibited against his father. The Bible says he stole the heart of an entire nation away from his father the king (2 Samuel 15:6). This is the way of the world. In contrast to such ways, today’s Bible reading speaks of the highway of holiness, through which the unclean shall not pass. It is equally interesting to read that although those passing through it may be considered fools by the world’s standard, they shall not go wrong in it (Isaiah 35:8). They will not err, because their Guide is the Lord of hosts (John 14:6). Beloved, do you seek wisdom? Do you want to be wise in things pertaining to godliness? The way to profitable wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and Jesus Christ is that wisdom that you need.

Topic: The Battle Is In The Mind [Andrew Wommack 13 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

Matthew 21:21 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.“

Jesus makes it very clear that we must have faith and doubt not. Every believer has faith, but most believers also have an abundance of doubt that negates their faith. It is when we purify our faith and only believe, that victory comes.

Every Christian is at war. There is a perpetual struggle against Satan and his kingdom where there are no “leaves” or “discharges.” Our enemy goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet. 5:8). Those who resist the devil will see him flee (Jas. 4:7). The only ones whom he devours are those who don’t actively fight against him.

The mind is the battlefield where thoughts and reasonings that are contrary to God’s Word, need to be captured and submitted to Christ, our Commander.

Just as enemy soldiers are captured in war, so rebel thoughts must be taken captive and made to submit to Christ. Our battle against the devil takes place right between our ears. The spiritual weapons given to us are designed for the express purpose of taking EVERY thought captive and making them obedient to Christ. Keeping our minds completely stayed upon the Lord is an obtainable goal.

These weapons of ours are for the casting down of two things: Imaginations; and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Both of these areas are dealing with the mind. Focus on the good in every area of your life. Failure to recognize God’s blessings in every day living will cause care and anxiety. Recognizing God’s hand in even the smallest thing will cause peace and keep our hearts and minds following hard after the Lord.

Topic: The Battle Is In The Mind [Andrew Wommack 13 September 2018 Daily Devotional]

Matthew 21:21 “Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.“

Jesus makes it very clear that we must have faith and doubt not. Every believer has faith, but most believers also have an abundance of doubt that negates their faith. It is when we purify our faith and only believe, that victory comes.

Every Christian is at war. There is a perpetual struggle against Satan and his kingdom where there are no “leaves” or “discharges.” Our enemy goes about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet. 5:8). Those who resist the devil will see him flee (Jas. 4:7). The only ones whom he devours are those who don’t actively fight against him.

The mind is the battlefield where thoughts and reasonings that are contrary to God’s Word, need to be captured and submitted to Christ, our Commander.

Just as enemy soldiers are captured in war, so rebel thoughts must be taken captive and made to submit to Christ. Our battle against the devil takes place right between our ears. The spiritual weapons given to us are designed for the express purpose of taking EVERY thought captive and making them obedient to Christ. Keeping our minds completely stayed upon the Lord is an obtainable goal.

These weapons of ours are for the casting down of two things: Imaginations; and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Both of these areas are dealing with the mind. Focus on the good in every area of your life. Failure to recognize God’s blessings in every day living will cause care and anxiety. Recognizing God’s hand in even the smallest thing will cause peace and keep our hearts and minds following hard after the Lord.

“Where is Jesus Christ?” Innumerable students are studying Him and deciding whether or not Christ and the Gospel really matter—whether He is relevant in this modern age. C.S. Lewis, a professor of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Oxford and later at Cambridge, had to do the same thing. He spent his life exploring the great literature of centuries. In his remarkable autobiography, Surprised by Joy, he tells of his pilgrimage from atheism to Christianity. His turning point came with the realization that the writing with the deepest meaning and greatest content was based on a deep, personal faith in God, by men like Augustine, Blaise Pascal, George Macdonald.

Prayer for the day: There is nothing more I desire, Lord Jesus, than to walk closely with You—my Savior and Lord.
