A Georgia teenager wrote a letter to God and then sent it to the clouds attached to helium balloons – and was shocked this week when she received a response.

The 18-year-old teen girl, Mykehia Curry, was inspired to write a letter to God about her financial situation. She is planning to attend college. 

“God help me go to college. God this is me again, please help me get everything I need to leave Wednesday. I love you, Amen,” the letter read, according to WMAZ-TV.

Curry is heading to Albany State and will be the first person in her family to attend college, she told the TV station, although she needs a few things, including a refrigerator, a comforter and school supplies.

So, she wrote a letter to God and attached it to three balloons, never thinking it would be read by anyone. God apparently had other plans.

Jerome Jones, a part-time minister at Springfield Baptist in Monticello, Ga., found the letter Monday on a construction site.

“It was God calling me saying, ‘You need to answer this,’ and I did,” Jones told WMAZ.

Curry was surprised that the letter was answered.

“It was beautiful. It’s kind of hard to explain,” Jones said. “She was like, ‘Is this mine for real?’ and I said, ‘It’s yours. God…

A California bill that would require universities to offer free or low-cost abortion pills to students represents not only a dangerous threat to the unborn but the nation, says the pro-life group Live Action.

Under the proposed law, California public universities must offer “abortion by medication techniques” – that is, the abortion pill RU-486 and other similar medication. The bill is Senate Bill 320. 

“If pro-abortion forces are successful in passing SB 320, they will try to pass these laws all across the country,” wrote Lila Rose, president of Live Action, in a Tuesday email to supporters.

The pill can be used at up to 10 weeks after pregnancy – a time when the baby has “a beating heart, arms, and legs,” Rose noted.

Additionally, 22 women have died after taking the poll, Rose wrote.

More than 400,000 female students are in California’s public university system, says the bill, which would require the college’s health centers to carry the pill.

Rachael Pryce, a student at UC San Diego, penned a column in The San Diego Union-Tribune asserting that the law would put women at risk.

Christian author Lee Strobel, who served as teaching pastor at Willow Creek Community Church for more than a decade, has backed the women accusing Bill Hybels of sexual misconduct and abuse.

“My heart breaks for Pat Baranowski and all victims of Bill Hybels at Willow Creek. I never saw any hint of misconduct when I was there. Still, I know these women and they are Godly and credible. I believe them and weep for them,” he said on Twitter. 

Strobel, an atheist-turned-believer, famous for his The Case for Christ bestseller, which was also turned into a movie, served at Willow Creek in Illinois from 1987 to 2000 as a teaching pastor.

Baranowski is the latest among several other women who accused Hybels, who founded the evangelical megachurch in 1975, of various forms of sexual misconduct. Baranowski, who was Hybels’ former executive assistant, alleged in a New York Times report that she was subjected to back rubs, groping, pornography and one incident of oral sex with her pastor. 

Hybels, who resigned as senior pastor in April, has continued to deny all accusations.

An influential charismatic church is giving $1000 to every household that lost their home in the Carr Fire, a move it says is a “God-sized step of faith.”

Bethel Church, which has several thousand members and is home to Bethel Music, announced on its website that it would be giving the money to those whose primary residence was destroyed in the fire that began raging near Redding, California, two weeks ago.

“We are incredibly blessed as a church by people all around the world praying for us, donating and supporting our community here in Redding. The generosity of gifts coming towards us is both humbling and much needed. Christians around the world are coming together and supporting a cause that is bigger than any one individual alone can carry,” the church explained.

“When we first made the decision to give a financial gift for the people in our city who had lost their home, the numbers being reported were 150-200 homes. Within just three days, that number had climbed to over 1000 homes, and the amount we had expected to raise and give went from $200,000 to over $1,000,000 dollars.”
