Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Reportedly Silenced by NFL Over National Anthem Talk

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was ordered by the National Football League to stop talking about his policy on the National Anthem.

Recently, the NFL created a policy that football players were not allowed to publicly protest the singing of the National Anthem but could wait in the locker room until the end of the song.

The Cowboys owner reportedly disallowed players from doing this, making them stay on the field for the Anthem.

Fox News reports, “Last week, Jones announced Cowboys players would stand for the national anthem and he would not support anyone who chose to stay in the locker room. He was the first NFL owner to openly announce that his players would not be allowed to stay off the field during the anthem.”

The National Football League responded by advising Jones not to discuss his personal policy on the National Anthem in media interviews:

“Jones informed several local television stations who had booked him for interviews on their Sunday night show from training camp in Oxnard, Calif., that questions about the national anthem and his team’s policy were not permitted because the NFL had told him to stop speaking on the matter,” The Star-Telegram says, stating that Fox 4’s Mike Doocy cancelled his interview thereafter.

The NFL and the National Football League Players Association are currently working on resolving issues with the…

Passengers ‘Blessed and Grateful to God’ for Surviving Mexico Plane Crash

Passengers ‘Blessed and Grateful to God’ for Surviving Mexico Plane Crash

Her passport and personal documents were destroyed, but passenger Jackeline Flores – who survived the Aeromexico-operated Embraer jet crash Tuesday – wasn’t complaining.

“I feel blessed and grateful to God,” Flores told reporters.

The plane was carrying 103 people when it crashed shortly after takeoff in a disaster that normally would have resulted in multiple fatalities. But no one died, and only a few were seriously hurt, Reuters reported.

Everyone escaped before the plane was covered in flames. Two infants were on board.

Wind gusts may have played a role in the crash, Durango Governor José Rosas Aispuro told reporters. Aispuro said the left wing hit the ground before two engines fell. The aircraft crashed about 300 yards from the runway.

“Many managed to leave the plane on foot,” said government spokesman Alejandro Cardoza, according to Reuters.

Most passengers had only light injuries.

Flores told AFP she knew something was wrong shortly after takeoff.

“I think we fell back on the runway because it was a hard surface, then we skidded on the ground until it stopped,” she said. “I undid my seatbelt and saw flames, and realized we had to jump. There was a hole right next to us where the plane had broken up. I told my girl, ‘We have to jump over here’, and we jumped.’”

Christian responds to millionaire encouraging kids learn how to get rich with Monopoly

Self-made millionaire and property investor Gill Fielding has said profit-making games teach youngsters about how to make money and how easily it can be lost.

The mum-of-three said Monopoly gives “aspirational children a significant edge over their peers and competitors when they grow up” and encouraged parents to spend a few hours a week with their children on such games.

Graham Nicholls, head of Affinity, which is a network of Christian charities, told Premier her advice can be trusted.

“She’s clearly got insight into how to make money and how to run a successful business,” he said.

“I think it’s also true there’s been lots of research into how children’s brains develop and how it develops best through playing and doing.”

However, Nicholls questioned whether it was right for a child to be so focused on how to make money.

He said: “I think what’s much more important is to do with sharing, to do with taking turns, to do with suffering in a small way.

“Like when you lose, we can’t make it right for you, you’ve lost all your money, you’ve gone bankrupt.

“So those are good things to learn and to talk your children though… They can’t go off in a tantrum, they need to mature through that. I think that’s much more important than making money.”

Nicholls also said Christians should place a higher value on teaching their children how to follow Jesus.

“I think in God’s…

Little Foxes that Spoil the Vine (Part 4) by Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Topic: Little Foxes that Spoil the Vine (Part 4)

Dear Reader,

You would agree with me that you have been having a wonderful time since we began this teaching series. You must have learnt a lot on how to keep your home from being destroyed by characters that can be watched and overcome. Marriage is an institution established by God and must be sustained by His Word. If you fill the water pots with water, you will have sweeter wine every day.

As this month rounds off, I would like you to start, by setting some good standards on the right foundation for your family. It is important to know that there are things which should, of necessity, not be found in your home, if you must enjoy a wonderful marriage. They are things that you must avoid, in order to have the best in your marriage. These things cause stress, pain, arguments, quarrel, lack of peace, separation and sometimes, even divorce. Most of them are caused by man himself. A good knowledge of some of them will keep your marriage free from such things. This week, I shall be looking at two of them.

Wrong Company: A man does not have to be foolish in himself to be destroyed. All he needs to do is walk with the foolish and soon, the folly in his friend will become part of him too. Walking with a foolish person is as bad as being foolish. The Word of God says, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed” (Proverbs 13:20).The company you keep either makes or mar you. It doesn’t leave you the same. The major cause of problems in some homes today is wrong company, caused by family members who keep receiving counsel and moving with people who always cause trouble in their homes.

A wrong association will affect you negatively. It will make you do things that you may never have done on your own. You must be careful about your choice of company and friends. A wise man once said, “Show me your friends, and I will tell you who you are” and I would like to ask you the same question today as you are reading this article: Who is your friend? If your friend is one that is a liar, a cheat, a thief, one that beats his wife or is covetous and you think you are not like him or her, then, you are wrong. Very soon the nature of your friend will begin to rub off on you and the end-result will be destruction. That shall not be your portion in Jesus’ name!

Anyone that constantly provokes your spirit and gives you wrong counsel against your wife, husband or family’s well-being will destroy your home. The Word of God says: Be not deceived: evil communication corrupt good manner (I Corinthians 15:33). A wrong company or association corrupts good manners. The basis for any association should be agreement (Amos 3:3). When the company or association you keep is not in agreement with the things you believe in, then you must end your relationship with that company. Friendship, as they say is by choice and not by force! Separate yourself from wrong friends. Be selective in your association. Select your friends with wisdom. Do not allow any wrong company to destroy your home and marriage.

Slothfulness: It is another thing that can destroy marriages. It simply means laziness. Successful families don’t just happen; they are consciously made to happen. If God had to work for six days when He was creating the world in Genesis 1, you must be ready also to do what it takes in order to enjoy a successful family life. Get rid of laziness or slothfulness because the fruit of laziness is shame. There are some women that find it difficult to attend to their husbands, especially in the area of cooking. They leave everything for their house-help including the upbringing of the children. This habit can easily destroy marriage and family. Knowing what to do to improve the state of your family and not doing it or doing it for a while and giving up will not bring the success you desire; rather this attitude can destroy your marriage and family. You must co-operate with God by playing your own part and getting rid of spiritual and physical laziness in order to enjoy a successful family.

A brother who read one of my tracts, Created to Create, said, “I was very happy when I read your tract. I am in business now. But I used to be very lazy, right from my youth; to the point that I was always late to school because of oversleeping. But after reading your tract, which mentioned a sister that decided to sell boiled water for drinking in school and prospered by it, and another lady who sold tomatoes and bought a car with the profits, I became ashamed of myself, because my business was not prospering due to my lazy attitude. I was challenged to change my lazy ways and decided to do according to your advice in that tract. God touched my soul and I was converted. I thank God for opening my eyes. My life and my business are no more the same!”

I see the same thing happening in your life, as you take the right steps to get rid of every act of laziness and slothfulness in your life in Jesus’ name. I curse every sluggish, dull and drag attitude that has stolen away the beauty in your family before now and I decree that God release unto you, the grace to be diligent, so that you can enjoy your family in Jesus’ name.

You need Jesus Christ to help maintain the right company and strengthen you at all times. If you are already born again, rejoice because your case is settled. If you are not yet born again and you desire to do so right now, please pray this prayer with faith in your heart: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

With this, you are guaranteed all-round rest and peace in Jesus’ Name! Call or write to share your testimonies with me through [email protected], 07026385437 OR 08141320204.

Rwanda Closes More Than 8,000 Churches In Major Crackdown

Rwanda Closes More Than 8,000 Churches In Major Crackdown

More than 8,000 churches throughout Rwanda have been closed by the government as part of an alleged crackdown on unsafe structures, although religious liberty advocates say the government is closing congregations that should be considered acceptable.

Christians in the country fear the movement is a cover for the government’s drive toward secularism.

Pastors are now required by the government to have degrees from accredited institutions. Bible schools are mandated to teach science and technology in order to teach theology. Among the other rules, access roads to churches must be paved and inside walls and ceilings must be  plastered and painted, according to World Watch Monitor.

“On checking which churches were included, we learned that all churches are suffering the same fate, and that even churches considered luxurious for local standards have had to close,” one local source told World Watch Monitor.

One church was closed during a wedding, with the guests “told to leave the church during the service,” World Watch Monitor reported.

Churches have only 15 days to make the required changes upon being reported by the government. The Rwandan source said in some instances, even house meetings are banned.

“It seems that the local authorities in the different districts initially had some freedom about the degree to which they could enforce the new requirements,” the…

Revoice Speakers ‘Lament’ Treatment of Gay Christians in Church, Share Stories of Rejection

(Screenshot: YouTube/tomanjp)Hundreds gather for the Revoice Conference, a gathering of gay individuals seeking to adhere to traditional Christian teaching on homosexuality, held at Memorial Presbyterian Church of St. Louis, Missouri on July 26-28, 2018.

Speakers at the first-ever Revoice Conference denounced the mistreatment of LGBT individuals within the church, including those who adhere to the belief that homosexuality is a sin.

Held last week at Memorial Presbyterian Church in St. Louis, Missouri, Revoice was focused on the issue of LGBT Christians in the church, with one evening focusing on the theme of lament.

Ray Low, a New York City-based pastor who identifies as gay, was one of the speakers for that evening, telling the hundreds gathered about his experiences in the church.

Low talked about how, even though he accepts that homosexuality is a sin and marriage should only be between a man and a woman, he still experienced much rejection when looking for a position as a pastor.

Christian MP says Universal Credit empowers abusers

A report by MPs has attacked the Universal Credit system as it is paid to a household rather than individuals, which leaves vulnerable people dependent on their partners.

Christian and Labour MP Frank Field told Premier why he is fighting for changes to be made.

He explained: “Not only do they do a whole range of control techniques, they also get their hands on the whole of the family’s money for a whole month and that’s what we’re trying to stop.”

Charities have also joined MPs in warning the way Universal Credit is paid could be empowering abusive partners.

In theory, victims can request the benefit’s split into different accounts.

But Mandy Marshall from Christian domestic abuse charity Restored said making a request to split payments could be “dangerous” for victims of abuse.

CC

“The abuser could be there, it could be in the same room, it could be not leaving the person alone to make that request and also it could increase violence in the home,” she said.

“So the report saying that it is important that there is a domestic abuse advisor and specialist in the system is really important.”

Frontline workers told MPs that work coaches currently lack information about support for abuse victims.

The report recommends a private room being used in every Jobcentre so people at risk of abuse are able to communicate with staff in…

Florida Megachurch Pastor Returns to Pulpit After Being Told He Could Lose Voice Forever

(Photo: Instagram / rwmckjr)Bishop Rudolph McKissick Jr. gives a sermon at The Bethel Church in Jacksonville, Florida on July 29, 2018.

Florida megachurch pastor Rudolph McKissick Jr. has returned to the pulpit after undergoing surgery on his vocal chords that doctors worried could have left him voiceless.

McKissick preached before the congregation at The Bethel Church in Jacksonville for the first time in over a month-and-a-half on Sunday. He had been recovering from a June 11 procedure to remove a polyp on from his vocal chords.

As McKissick is known for having an upbeat and passionate style of preaching, he was much more subdued and was trying out a more conversational approach while letting his congregants make all the noise for God.

McKissick told WJXT that he had to change his style in order to preserve his voice because of “severe scarring” found on his last functioning vocal chord.

“It’s going…

Five Stages of a Pastor’s Ministry

Five Stages of a Pastor’s Ministry

  1. Year 1: Honeymoon.
  2. Years 2 and 3: Conflicts and Challenges.
  3. Years 4 and 5. Crossroads, Part 1.
  4. Years 6 to 10: Fruit and Harvest.
  5. Years 11 and beyond: Crossroads, Part 2.

Some highlights from today’s Rainer Report:

  • Pastor, you will have conflict in your church. Expect it. Prepare for it. It’s normal.
  • When the inevitable conflict comes, a pastor needs to decide to stay and work through it if at all possible.
  • Don’t run from every conflict or potential conflict.
  • Ministry changes over time. Pastors must change with it.

Tom Cruise’s most dangerous “Mission: Impossible” stunts

My wife and I recently saw the sixth installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise. We were not alone: the film grossed $61.2 million in its first weekend.

You can’t see one of these films and not wonder if Tom Cruise does his own stunts. It turns out, he does. Or at least, the most death-defying ones.

Christopher McQuarrie directed Cruise in the two most recent Mission: Impossible movies (Rogue Nation and Fallout). He was asked by the New York Times to rank the most difficult stunts he and his star have executed. According to McQuarrie, Cruise did his own motorcycle chase scene in Fallout, sometimes “going in excess of 100 miles an hour with cars chasing him and coming at him.”

The scene in Fallout where he jumps from an airplane at 25,000 feet? Cruise actually did that. He made 106 jumps in total to film the sequence. He hung from an airplane in Rogue Nation and qualified for pilot certification so he could pilot a helicopter in Fallout.

Cruise didn’t have to do any of this, but as he and the movie cast explain, such realism makes the movies better.

Bible removed from military memorial

Heroism takes many forms. Four firefighters died last month while battling wildfires in California. At least fifty-four American law enforcement officers have died while on duty this year. The courage of those who risk their lives to protect ours should never be forgotten.

It especially takes courage to do what our culture rejects.

A Bible has been removed from the “Missing Man” table at F. E. Warren Air Force Base near Cheyenne, Wyoming. The table is a POW/MIA memorial common in military base dining halls, hospitals, and ceremonies since the Vietnam War. It is set for a meal honoring prisoners of war, the missing in action, and the fallen. A Bible is traditionally placed on the table.

However, Mikey Weinstein, founder and president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, claimed that the Bible violates the civil rights of military personnel….
