Teens Open Heavens 29 July 2018 – What Example

Topic: What Example [Teens Open Heavens 29, July 2018]

Memorise: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. – Romans 15:4

Read: 2 Kings 5:20-27 (KJV)

Bible In One Year: Psalm 56-58, Acts 28:1-15

MESSAGE:

Of all the vessels in God’s house, golden vessels stand out. Apostle Paul was such a vessel; God performed uncommon miracles through him (Acts 9:11-12). If you are a silver or wooden vessel, you can move up to becoming a golden vessel by taking your personal consecration to the limits. Loving God supremely, obeying God in everything, and living for God¡¯s maximum pleasure, are the other ways to stand out as a vessel in the house of God.

Just as there are honourable vessels, dishonourable vessels exist. God has a use for every vessel. God uses dishoourable vessels as lesson or warning to others so that they will know that every act of defiance is followed by a commensurate punishment. A frightening reality is that someone who started out as a vessel of honour can end up as one of dishonour. Such a vessel will then serve as a warning to other vessel of honour. May you never go from being a vessel of honour to being a vessel of dishonour in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point: Lord Jesus Christ, please help me not to do anything that will make me a dishonourable vessel.

Hymn 11:

1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while yelling sleep he suffers,
Away with shame and fear.
Where’re yeah meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.
3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus !
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of Ilesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.

DCLM Daily Manna 29 July 2018 Daily Devotional – God Never Fails

Topic: God Never Fails [DCLM Daily Manna 29th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Text: Genesis 25:12-26 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived” (Genesis 25:21).

MESSAGE:

God does everything He promised. He is so faithful to keep His words to the minute details. In answer to Abraham’s unspoken question, He promised to bless Ishmael, though he was not his ordained heir. Another son, Isaac, would be born by sarah, to inherit Abraham’s possessions. Isaac would also be the carrier of God’s promises to make the descendants of Abraham a great nation. But because of Abraham, God would still not abandon Ishmael.

In keeping with His word, God blessed Ishmael greatly. He gave him 12 sons; built them towns and castles, and made them princes. He also blessed him with long life. But He made Isaac greater, though he didn’t have as much freedom as Ishmael and he did not have as many sons as him. In reality, his wife, Rebekah, experienced delay in child-bearing. And when she gave birth, it was set of twin boys, Esau and Jacob. And even before birth, God had told her that the two were not just different in nationality and manner of life, but would be enmeshed in a life-long conflict with each other. Isaac inherited everything from his father, but nothing came to him on a platter of gold. Yet, he remained confident that God will fulfil His promise in his life.

Believers are heirs of the Father, and joint heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord has promised them all things. “Cast not away therefore your confidence… for ye have need of patience… for yet a little while, and He that shall come will come, and will not tarry.”

Thought For The Day: God does not fail those that put their trust in Him.

Seeds of Destiny 29 July 2018 Daily Devotional – What It Means To Live As A Generational Problem Solver

Topic: What It Means To Live As A Generational Problem Solver [Seeds of Destiny 29 July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Scripture: For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: Acts 13:36

Thought For The Day: To live as a generational problem solver is to live as an answer to the questions of people.

In the previous day, we saw that David lived and took the responsibility of tending his father’s flock which his elder brothers avoided, and that led him to having the experience of killing the lion and the bear, which in turn gave him both the credential and the confidence to confront and kill Goliath. He lived as a generational problem solver.

Now, what does it mean to live as a generational problem solver?
1. It means to be a generational solution provider
This is a situation where you live to solve the problems and challenges of a whole family, community, state, or nation. When you are helped by God to be a solution to the problems of people, then you are living as a generational solution provider.

2. It means living as a generational answer
To live as a generational problem solver is to live as an answer to the questions of people.

3. It means living as a generational blessing
Your life is a blessing to a family, city, community, nation, etc.

4. It means living as a generational asset
It is living as an asset and not a liability. Your life, by virtue of your impact, becomes an asset to your generation.

5. It means living as a generational illumination
It is living to erase darkness from people’s lives – be it the darkness of ignorance, under-development, mediocrity, poverty, diseases, witchcraft activities or anything that is not compatible with the plan of God for humanity.

Beloved, do not close your eyes when you see the needs of people. Do not feign ignorance of people’s challenges.

Remember this: To live as a generational problem solver is to live as an answer to the questions of people.

Assignments:
1. Prayerfully identify the problems of a family, community, state or nation and ask God to give you the capacity to solve them.
2. Live as an asset, answer, blessing and illumination to your generation.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to be a generational problem solver. Take me beyond solving the problem of one person to solving the problem of families, communities, states and nations, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 29 July 2018 – Are You Head Indeed?

Topic: Are You Head Indeed? [Open Heavens 29 July 2018 Sunday Daily Devotional]

Memorise: “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,”Ephesians 1:22

Read: Deuteronomy 28:13-14 (KJV)

13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:

14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Bible in One Year: Nehemiah 10-11, Matthew 10:16-39

Open Heavens 29 July 2018 MESSAGE:

For you to walk in the reality of the truth that God has made you the head, you need to understand the significance of being the head. For this reason, we shall be looking at some of the responsibilities of the head in the body so that we do not disappoint the One who has graciously made us the head. According to today’s memory verse, our Lord Jesus Christ has been made the Head over all things for the benefit of the Church, which means that we derive our right and authority to be head in every area of life from Him. Therefore, if you are disconnected from Him, you can be sure that your attempts to function as head will be an exercise in futility. It would be a great waste of Christ’s work of grace if you fail to manifest as the head.

Beloved, when you pray that God should make you head as He promised in Deuteronomy 28:13, do you put into consideration the corresponding responsibilities? For example, it is in the head that we have sight (the eyes). As head of a family, clan, department in Church, business or community, are you ready to function as an effective eye for the body? I believe you don’t want to be a blind head. For example, as the head of a family, have you really caught the vision for the wellbeing of your family or do you allow your family grope in darkness towards doom? Do you see errors of indiscipline in your family and overlook them by turning your eyes away? Are your eyes not already blinded by the delicacies of sin? Furthermore, in the head lies the ability to speak (the mouth). As the head of a church, has your mouth been padlocked by the gifts of criminals and harlots in your congregation, so much so that they now occupy positions in God’s sanctuary? The head is also the centre of hearing (the ears). As the head, do you still hear from God for the people you serve? When last did you hear from God about your people? Lastly, the head contains the brain which thinks for the body. Some family heads have relinquished their thinking role to their wives and children. Their children now dictate what is right or wrong to them. Some girls have changed their mothers’ wardrobes because they see their clothes as “old school”. They have arranged wardrobes that now contain what used to be underwear as the main clothes for their mothers, and these mothers have conceded to such abomination. My prayer for every head today and those who are aspiring to be heads is that you will be head indeed. I prophesy that you will begin to effectively fulfill the functions of the head from today in Jesus Name.

Prayer Point: Father, please make me head indeed and don’t let me fail in my responsibilities.

1. I need Thee every hour, most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine can peace afford.

Chorus:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Every hour I need Thee;

2. I need Thee every hour, stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r when Thou art nigh.

3. I need Thee every hour, in joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide, or life is vain.

4. I need Thee every hour; teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises in me fulfill.

Oh, make me Thine indeed, Thou blessed Son.

Tap Water Just as Good as Bottled, Filtered Variants, Experts Say

In pursuit of being able to drink the best kind of water they can on a regular basis, people have taken to purchasing all kinds of bottled water and using filters, but some experts say that tap water is just as good.

NPR interviewed different experts and ask about how tap water stacked up to the other options available.

First off, Dan Heil, a professor of health and human performance at Montana State University said that as long as the tap water flowing into people’s homes meets all the health and safety standards, then it should be “perfectly fine.”

Heil believes that with the prevalence of other options, the tap has become “underrated” in terms of being a source of healthy water.

Stuart Batterman, a professor of environmental health sciences at the University of Michigan, added that “In general, the drinking water quality in the U.S. is very good.”

Water made available to U.S. residents via the tap is monitored by the Environmental Protection Agency. The agency has set up thresholds for the amount of chemicals, microorganisms and other contaminants in the water.

When discussing how filters can improve the tap water people are drinking, the experts said that they don’t actually do that much.

Tanis Fenton, a registered dietitian and epidemiologist at the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary, said that filters can’t do much to make people any safer because they “don’t do anything” to weed out the amoeba, bacteria and viruses that could contaminate the water.

Neil Ward, an analytical chemistry professor at the University of Surrey in the U.K., even noted that drinking…

First Baptist Dallas Celebrates 150 Years; Robert Jeffress Talks Future Plans, Pastor Who Impacted Him Most

(Photo: Facebook/Robert Jeffress)Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church of Dallas speaks in this file photo.

First Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas, the megachurch headed by Pastor Robert Jeffress, will be celebrating its 150th anniversary on Sunday.

Originally founded on July 30, 1868, the church that began with 11 members now has approximately 12,000 people on its membership roll.

FBC Dallas is planning to hold a special service on Sunday to commemorate the occasion, with Texas Governor Greg Abbott expected to be in attendance.

Attendees to the service will get a commemorative Bible for each family, as well as a children’s book focused on the history of the church.

There will also be a message delivered by Jeffress about the past and future of the congregation, as well as a history display at the church’s Ruth Behr Hall.

Jeffress, who took lead of the church in 2007, talked with The Christian Post on Friday about the milestone and other related topics. Below are excerpts from the interview.

CP: At a time when many churches are in decline or closing, how is it that First Baptist Dallas is celebrating its 150 anniversary and still going strong?

Jeffress: I think there’s one simple answer to that. We are a church that’s not built on a denomination or a church built on…

Christian colleges experience higher satisfaction rates than other universities

A new National Student Survey found that 96 per cent of students at Christian colleges are content with their learning. However, the overall percentage of students who are satisfied with their course and institution has fallen for the second year in a row, with half of them with students unsatisfied.

In All nations Christians College in Hertfordshire, 100 per cent of the students were content with their studies. The college’s principal Andy Dipper told Premier what’s behind Christians colleges scoring so well.

“Christians are wanting to get serious about understanding God’s word, to understand biblical truths, to understand the context of the theological understanding and certainly to understand the culture in which we operate.

“So no one is going to drift into a Bible college by mistake…”

In total, 83 per cent said they were content with their higher education experience, down from 84 per cent last year. Some 8 per cent saw no change in satisfaction rates.

Dipper said there are simple ways universities can improve satisfaction levels.

“One level is about really taking seriously everything that people say and on another level it’s about saying, ‘well what can we do better? What can we really aspire to? What can we really plan ahead for, for the future’ never standing still.”

The figures, published by the Office for Students, are based on the views of more than…

Museums unite to protest Facebook’s nudity ban including Jesus painting

Museums in Belgium are uniting in protest against Facebook because they cannot promote Flemish Masters including Rubens as they fall foul of the social media site’s adult content rules and automatic censorship.

“The bare breasts and buttocks painted by our artist are considered by you to be inappropriate. We have noticed that Facebook consistently rejects works of art by our beloved Peter Paul Rubens,” more than a dozen top Belgian art officials wrote to Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg.

The Visit Flanders tourist board has even produced a mock news video where security officials prevent visitors from seeing nudity in the Rubens House museum.

In one scene an official spreads his arms in front of the Adam And Eve painting, in which the biblical figures are covered only by the proverbial fig leaf, instead diverting them to other paintings where everyone is properly dressed.

“Twenty per cent of the (Facebook) posts that we dedicated to the Flemish Masters couldn’t be shown to our audience, our cultural audience worldwide,” said Visit Flanders spokeswoman Tama d’Haen.

“It’s really embarrassing for Visit Flanders that we cannot show one of our main assets to the world. That’s why we came up with the idea of a video,” she added.

Facebook said it understands the issues.

Even if it allows paintings like those from…

Pakistan election results sparks fear amongst Christians

Officials announced on Friday that the former cricket star Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had won 114 of the 269 seats being contested in the National Assembly.

Hours after the 65-year-old’s victory was confirmed, he spoke to the nation saying his preferred form of government is “the Islamic State as established by the Prophet Mohammad in Medina”.

“Today in front of you, in front of the people of Pakistan, I pledge I will run Pakistan in such a way as it has never before been run,” he said.

Christian charity Open Doors’ World Watch List places Pakistan as the fifth worst place in the world for Christian persecution.

Before the election, a Pakistani Christian leader told Open Doors: “Many Christians fear Imran Khan as the country’s leader as he has said he wants to return to jirga, a traditional assembly of leaders that make decisions by consensus and according to the teachings of Pashtunwali – a series of non-written ethical codes which predate modern laws and which prove a dangerous mix in combination with Sharia, the strict Islamic law.”

RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual 29 July 2018 Lesson 48 – Rapture: Purpose and Qualifications

TOPIC — Rapture: Purpose and Qualifications [RCCG Sunday School Manual 29th July, 2018]

Opening Prayer: Students should pray for grace to inherit the heavenly mansion at last. (Scroll down for RCCG Sunday School Manual 29th July, 2018 Hymn)

Bible Passage: 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 (RCCG Sunday School TEACHER’s Manual July 29, 2018)

50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

MEMORY VERSE: “2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.”John 14:2-3.

INTRODUCTION:
Our last lesson revealed the meaning of the word, rapture. We also discovered events surrounding the rapture as regards timing and other issues. Today’s lesson will show us the reasons, the qualification as well as fallacies surrounding the rapture. May the good Lord teach our hearts and bless our lives with His truth by His Spirit, in Jesus’ name

TEXT REVIEW: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:50-53
Verse 51 of today’s text explains the mystery behind rapture. The momentary event will be heralded with the sound of the trumpet of God and both the dead and the living will be changed, starting with the dead. Therefore, rapture has to do with changing of our mortal body to immortal, corruptible body to incorruptible or victorious body and sudden “catch up” of the saints into the air.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. Why will the rapture take place?
2. Who will be raptured?

WHY WILL THE RAPTURE TAKE PLACE?
i. To resurrect the just of all ages from among the dead. 1Thess. 4:13-17; Ps. 50:1- 6.

ii. To take the saints out of the world before the tribulation. Lk. 21:34-36; 2Thess2:7-8; 1Thess.1:10.

iii. That Jesus Christ might present to Himself a church without spots or wrinkles. Eph. 5:27; John 14:1-3.

iv. To transform or change the bodies of all faithful saints from mortality to immortality. Phil. 3:20-21; 1Cor.15:21-23, 42-44, 51-58.

v. To assemble the saints at the marriage supper of the Lamb. Rev. 19:1-10.

vi. To allow the revelation of the anti-Christ 2Thess2:1-8.

vii. To present saints to God the Father. 1Thess.3:13; Jude 24.

viii. To make the saints whole in body, soul and spirit 1Jn3:2-3; Rom.8:22-23

CLASS ACTIVITY 1
Why do you think God decided to catch the saints up into the air suddenly without giving a prior date?

WHO WILL BE RAPTURED?

i. Those that are in Christ at His coming. John 1:12; 2Cor. 5:17

ii. Those who earnestly desire His appearance. Titus 2:13; Phil. 3:20

iii. Those who love the Lord absolutely. Phil.3:7-10; John 21:15-17; John 14:15; Mark 16:15-18; Luke 19:12-13

iv. Those whose citizenship are in Heaven. Phil 3:20-21; Eph. 2:19.

v. Those that will live holy even as He is holy. 1Pet. 1:16; Heb. 12:14; 1John 3:3

CLASS ACTIVITY 2
Mention those people that will not be raptured.

SUMMARY
Be watchful so as not to miss the rapture because only those who are absolutely ready will be raptured.

CONCLUSION
Teachers and students should do everything possible to be rapturable.
These among others include: watchfulness, fellowshipping with brethren and the Holy Spirit and keeping the unity of faith. 1Thess. 5:6; Eph. 10:25; Eph. 4:3

CLOSING PRAYER
Father, make my household and Church rapturable.

ASSIGNMENT
Identify any five types of people or attitudes that would not be raptured and why?

Poured His blessing on Thee.

5. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
Though the sun be so bright,
Or if the clouds black with rain,
I’ll be in Sunday School.

6. O Sunday School, on the Lord’s day,
I rejoice to see Thee,
Will thou pass over me today?
Without my being blest?
