Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 25 July 2018 Daily Devotional – Don’t Let Your Faith Slip

Topic: Don’t Let Your Faith Slip [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland 25th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. – Hebrews 2:1

Something very serious has been happening to the Body of Christ. We’ve often let the things which we have heard—the message of faith and righteousness—slip.

I’m not just talking about those believers who’ve been so surrounded by religion that they’ve never heard about the power that’s theirs in Christ Jesus. I’m talking about those of us who have heard the Word and have known the thrill of living by faith.

In my own life, for example, there were times when I’d pray for healing. I’d say all the right words, “Thank God, I believe I receive…” and all that. But inside I’d be thinking, I wonder why God isn’t healing me?

You see, even though I’d said that I believed I was healed, I hadn’t really. I’d staggered at the promise of God, believing what my body told me instead of the Word of God.

I don’t care how long you’ve been a believer or how long you’ve been practicing the principles of faith. You can easily slip into unbelief about the promises of God. And, when you do, it will cost you dearly.

“But if slipping into unbelief is so easy,” you may say, “how can we avoid it?”

Hebrews 4:11 tells us: “Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”

We must labor! Not by working with our hands and feet or struggling to get God to do something, but by spending time in God’s Word—hanging on to the promises of God by faith day after day. We must labor by hearkening to the Word and refusing to let it slip.

Don’t get casual about the Word. Don’t make the mistake of thinking, Oh I know all that faith stuff. I know how to receive my healing. If you do, you’ll slack off and one of these days the devil will catch you unprepared and steal you blind.

Instead, dig more deeply in the Word than ever. Labor! Be diligent to keep your faith from slipping—and you won’t have to fall!

Open Heavens 25 July 2018 – Prosperity Made Easy

Topic: Prosperity Made Easy [Open Heavens 25 July 2018 Wednesday Daily Devotional]

Memorise: “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”James 1:25

Read: James 1:21-25 (KJV)

21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

24 For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Bible in One Year: Nehemiah 1-3, Matthew 7:24-8:17

Open Heavens 25 July 2018 MESSAGE:

The issue of prosperity is an area where many in the Body of Christ today hold dangerous misconceptions. So many people come to church today in search of blessings, either financial or otherwise, but they are not interested in getting born again in truth. They care less about holiness or righteousness and are not committed to the service of God in anyway, but they are prepared to do anything the pastor says with respect to sowing seeds and giving sacrificially in order to be blessed. Unfortunately, many in this category are youths. After they have practiced sowing and sacrificial giving for a while and the blessings are not forthcoming, they begin to pile up accusations against God and His servants. Although some pastors may be taking advantage of the innocence and ignorance of these young minds, such youths have themselves to blame because they have access to the word of God and are intelligent enough to read and understand the principles of prosperity as laid down by God. In several passages of the Bible, God promises His people prosperity in physical, material and spiritual things, and He also reiterate His intention to make them great and exalted above all other people of the earth, but this is always based on one condition: OBEDIENCE.

Without exception, the Bible always presents obedience as the prerequisite to blessings. James 1:25 stressed the point that anyone who continues to live in his or her deeds. The pronouncement of multiple blessings on Israel in Deuteronomy chapter 28 was also based on the condition of obedience in Deuteronomy 28:1. Therefore, obedience to the word of God is not negotiable for anyone who is looking up to God for blessings. Another important thing to note is that God expects His children to continue in obedience, since the matter of their prosperity is already settled (Deuteronomy 28:2). The Creator of heaven and earth is a master planner and He knows how to make everything perfect in His own time. For this reason, giving Him a time limit within which you expect Him to perform His work is not wise and may lead to disappointment. When God promised to build me a city instead of the two-bedroom apartment I was asking for, I didn’t know His timing, but I waited patiently for Him. Months later, God started His wonders at the Redemption Camp, and about 40 years later, the project has become a huge success, although God is not done with His wonders yet. I decree that the same God will perfect your package of blessing and deliver it to you very soon in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, please give me the grace to obey you in all areas of my life in Jesus’ Name.

Open Heavens 25 July 2018 Hymn 4: Trust And Obey

1. When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Chorus:
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Andrew Wommack 25th July 2018 Daily Devotional – The Cost of Discipleship

Topic: The Cost of Discipleship [Andrew Wommack 25th July 2018 Daily Devotional]

Luke 14:28 “For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?”

Text: Luke 14:25-35

The parable of the man building a tower is a continuation of the teaching regarding what it takes to be a disciple of Jesus. This parable stresses commitment. “Jailhouse religion,” where a person is only sorry he got caught and is trying to get out of a bad situation, will not produce true discipleship. It takes a forsaking of all to be Jesus’ disciple. Jesus is simply saying, “count the cost.

Jesus’ teaching on discipleship emphasizes commitment. Just as a king wouldn’t engage in war without thoroughly considering all the possible outcomes, so no one should attempt to become a disciple of Jesus without counting the cost. It would be better not to start following Jesus than to start and then turn back.

When a person first comes to Jesus, it is impossible to know everything that following Jesus might entail. No one, however, should be fearful of making a total commitment because of some imagined problem that may never come to pass. There should be a willingness to forsake everything to follow Jesus.

Once we make that decision, then Christ begins to live through us (Gal. 2:20) and we find a strength that is not our own, equal to whatever test we may encounter.

Billy Graham 25th July 2018 Daily Devotional – Sanctity of Marriage

Topic: Sanctity of Marriage [Billy Graham’s Devotional Wednesday July 25, 2018]

How I need your help, especially in my own home . . . — Psalm 101:2 (TLB)

In the marriage ceremony, after the vows are said, the minister solemnly and reverently remarks, “What God hath joined together let no man put asunder.” Is not God the third part in a marriage? Should He not be taken into account in the marriage, and in the home that emerges from that marriage? If God joins the couple together at the outset, should not His presence be recognized in the home continually? Many homes are on the rocks today because God has been left out of the domestic picture.

With the clash of personalities in a domestic pattern, there must be an integrating force, and the living God is that Force! Many couples think that if they have a better home, get a better job, or live in a different neighborhood, their domestic life will be happier. No! The secret of domestic happiness is to let God, the party of the third part in the marriage contract, have His rightful place in the home. Make peace with Him, and then you can be a real peacemaker in the home.

Prayer for the day: In my relationships with those I love, help me to be a peacemaker, Lord. May I always look to You, the Prince of Peace.

Speaker at State Department’s Religious Freedom Ministerial Says China Is Detaining Over 1 Million Uighur Muslims in Concentration Camps, But the World Is Silent

Over one million Uighur Muslims are being held in Chinese concentration camps for arbitrary reasons as the international community largely remains silent about the ethnic minority’s ongoing persecution, a believer told hundreds gathered for the first day of the U.S. State Department’s Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom Tuesday.

Tahrir Hamut, a prominent Uighur poet and filmmaker who was sentenced to three years in a Chinese concentration camp in the mid 1990s, was among the first persecuted believers to give their testimonies at the first-ever State Department ministerial addressing international religious freedom.

Speaking on the plight of Uighur Muslims in the Xinjiang Region in Northwest China, Hamut wasted no time in detailing just how severe the persecution is for his community, stating that the government is using surveillance technology and forced DNA collection to exert control over the everyday lives of Uighurs.

“Since late 2016, China has turned the Uighur region into a police state — an open prison,” he said through a translator.

Uighurs, a Turkish ethnic group primarily existing in Xinjiang, has been targeted by the Chinese government since 1949, Hamut explained. However, he added that the government’s persecution of the ethnic group has intensified greatly since the terror attack of Sept. 11, 2001 under the guise of fighting terrorism.

“The Chinese government is using advanced surveillance technologies, such as AI, voice and face recognition, mass surveillance of cell phones and forced DNA collection to control Uighurs’ daily lives,” Hamut…

Royal wedding’s gospel choir signs record deal

The Kingdom Choir performed Stand By Me in front of a huge global audience at the royal wedding at Windsor Castle on 19th May.

The group have now signed a record deal with Sony Music UK and will release their debut album on 2nd November.

They will go into the studio later this month and the album will include their arrangement of the song that made them famous, having received more than ten million views on YouTube since the wedding.

The choir, which has also announced a headline concert at London’s Union Chapel on 28th November, was founded in 1994 in London by award-winning conductor Karen Gibson.

Before performing at the royal wedding, the group’s largest audience was just 200 people – but on 2nd June their version of the song was at number one on the Billboard gospel charts.

Gibson said: “The Kingdom Choir are absolutely delighted with the journey of the past few months.

“It’s been a roller coaster, but we wouldn’t have it any other way – first, the honour of being able to sing at the royal wedding, and then the thrill of being signed to Sony.

Owen Humphreys/PA Wire

“It’s like an un-dreamt dream – one that you wouldn’t even consider, because you never thought it could happen to you. We’re very grateful and very excited about what’s to come in the next few months too.”

Nicola Tuer, COO of Sony Music UK, added: “We are absolutely thrilled to have signed The Kingdom Choir to…

Dying 27-Year-Old Writes Emotional ‘Note Before I Die’ before Passing Away

Dying 27-Year-Old Writes Emotional ‘Note Before I Die’ before Passing Away

Before leaving this world, dying 27-year-old Holly Butcher gave the rest of us some powerful advice in her ‘Note Before I Die.’

We all know death is inevitable. And yet, we don’t expect it to come so early for many of us. Holly Butcher from New South Wales in Australia certainly falls into the category of “too young to die.”

Doctors gave Holly the terrible news when she was just 26 years old. She suffered from Ewing’s sarcoma — a rare form of cancer in and around the bones that mainly affects young people.

The news completely blindsided Holly.

“It’s a strange thing to realise and accept your mortality at 26 years young,” she wrote in the opening of her ‘Note Before I Die.’ “It’s just one of those things you ignore. The days tick by and you just expect they will keep on coming; Until the unexpected happens.”

Holly’s diagnosis came as a shock to her family, as well. The active, vibrant young woman seemed to exude good health.

To hear she was living with a ticking time bomb inside of her seemed impossible.

“She embodied good health,” Holly’s brother, Dean, explained. “As a dietitian, she ate all the right foods, she exercised regularly and didn’t drink much alcohol. But that’s the thing about cancer… it’s non-discriminatory.”

Doctors gave Holly no hope. The stage 4 cancer had already spread to most of her…

Police, Security Called in at Highpoint Church After Members Revolt at Family Meeting, Witness Says

(Photo: Instagram)A scene from Highpoint Church in Memphis, Tenn. in happier times.

Police and private security officers were reportedly summoned to a family meeting at Highpoint Church in Memphis last Tuesday after members erupted in open rebellion against church leaders over the vague explanation provided about the departure of the church’s founder, Chris Conlee.

Conlee delivered an emotional farewell to the congregation on July 15, just days after he announced his resignation from the church following six months of headlines about the sex abuse scandal involving former teaching pastor Andy Savage.

At the family meeting where between 1,000 and 2,000 people showed up expecting a deeper discussion of the circumstances surrounding Conlee’s abrupt resignation, Brad McDaniel, a counselor who says he is not a member of the church but attended the meeting, described what happened in a video posted to a public Facebook group called Highpoint Leadership Crisis (Unofficial).

McDaniel said the meeting went on for about one hour and involved the church’s board of trustees and several senior staff. The leadership team delivered a PowerPoint presentation on stage, highlighting things like the organizational structure of the church, its governing structure and its…

Egyptian church celebrates first mass in 7 years since church was shut down

Church of the Virgin Mary and Martyr Abanoub Al Nahisi, in a village south of Cairo, was closed eleven years ago by local authorities who cited security reasons.

The church members had been attending another church in a nearby village in the meantime.

Around 1,600 people celebrated the completion of the first stage of the new church building on Sunday.

According to World Watch Monitor, the Copts have been persecuted by Muslim neighbors since the closure of the church.

It’s been reported that Muslims set fire to four Coptic Christian homes in the village two years ago when it was suspected that the homes would be turned into a church.

The Christians withdrew their arson complaints last year in exchange for permission to build a new church.

As soon as the charges were dropped in January, the community started building the new church building.

Tim Tebow’s Baseball Season Ends, His Bachelorhood to Follow?

Tim Tebow’s Baseball Season Ends, His Bachelorhood to Follow?

Minor League Baseball player and household name, Tim Tebow, suffered a hand injury this past weekend, and is expected to end this season early.

The Mets’ Minor League OF was swinging his bat and broke a bone in his right hand. He will have surgery today to repair his hamate bone, but insiders are saying the season is over for Tebow.

“Another Setback for Tim Tebow,” Jim Denison reports, as Tebow is no stranger to career bumps in the road, having played briefly for three NFL teams, however; Fox News asserts he is a fighter:

“Though pundits and pontificators will likely suggest this setback could be the final nail in Tebow’s unlikely rise to Major League Baseball, I wouldn’t be so sure,” they continue, “Tim Tebow’s been able to consistently get up because he looks up to a God who he loves – and who he knows loves him.”

Baseball is not the only thing in Tebow’s life. He recently confirmed his relationship with former Miss Universe, Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters: “She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life. I am usually very private…
