Joyce Meyer’s Daily 2 June 2018 Devotional — Get Ready for Joy

Topic: Get Ready for Joy [Joyce Meyer’s Devotional Saturday June 2, 2018]

I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit, for [otherwise] apart from Me [that is, cut off from vital union with Me] you can do nothing. — John 15:5

Does your happiness depend on everything in your life being just right? If you think you can’t be happy until all your circumstances are right, you will never be happy. We all experience times in life when we feel down for various reasons, but we can’t allow our circumstances to control our emotions.

Satan seeks to fill your mind with negative thoughts and emotions that cause you to feel down because He is a discourager. But Jesus is your encourager, and He came to lift you up. He came to give you righteousness, joy, and all the things that cause you to feel “up”!

We all experience times of frustration and distress over unfulfilled hopes and dreams. When things don’t go according to your plans, it’s normal to feel disappointment. Things may make you feel sad temporarily, but when you know that weeping only lasts for a time and then comes joy, it makes everything better.

Prayer Starter: Father, Your Word says that You are “the Lifter of my head” (see Psalm 3:3). Today, I offer any sadness, discouragement and disappointment to You. Help me to purposely choose to walk in Your joy, knowing that You have so many good things ahead for my life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Our Daily Bread Devotional 2 June 2018 – The “Chewing” Years

Topic: The “Chewing” Years [Our Daily Bread 2 Saturday June, 2018]

Read: 1 Peter 2:1–11, Bible in a Year: 2 Chronicles 17–18; John 13:1–20

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6

My wife recently gave me a Labrador retriever puppy we named Max. One day when Max was spending time with me in my study, I was concentrating at my desk and heard the sound of paper ripping behind me. I turned to find a guilty-looking puppy with a book wide open and a page dangling from his mouth.

Our veterinarian tells us that Max is going through his “chewing years.” As puppies lose their milk teeth and permanent ones grow, they soothe their gums by chewing almost anything. We have to watch Max carefully to ensure he isn’t gnawing on something that could harm him, and we point him to healthy alternatives.

Max’s urge to chew—and my responsibility to watch him—cause me to think about what we “chew on” in our minds and hearts. Do we carefully consider what we are feeding our eternal souls when we read or surf the web or watch TV? The Bible encourages us, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good” (1 Peter 2:2–3). We need to fill ourselves daily with God’s Word and truth if we are to thrive as followers of Christ. Only then can we grow to maturity in Him.

Prayer: Loving Lord, help me to hunger for You and Your Word and to stay away from that which harms me. Fill me with Your goodness today.

When Christ returns, what will He find us craving?

Kenneth & Gloria Copeland Devotional 2 June 2018 – Begin to Praise

Topic: Begin to Praise [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Saturday June 2, 2018]

Rejoice in the Lord, O you [uncompromisingly] righteous [you upright, in right standing with God]; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright [in heart]. – Psalm 33:1, The Amplified Bible

Praise. According to the Word of God, that’s the most appropriate, becoming thing that you as a believer can do.

Let me warn you though, God’s idea of “appropriate” praise and your idea of appropriate praise may well be two very different things. The praise He calls for is joyous and uninhibited. And, at times, it’s just plain loud!

If you don’t believe it, look in the Bible and see the kind of praise that goes on in heaven. Read Isaiah 6 and find out how they act in the throne room. The seraphim shout in there until the doorposts shake! And when they do, the glory of the Lord fills the house.

When you get to heaven, you’re going to be praising like that too. You’re going to be leaping and praising God with every part of your being. But don’t wait until then to start. Begin now.

Decide today that instead of praising God the way you like, you are going to start doing it the way He likes. Begin to release those praises joyously, uninhibitedly. Don’t wait until you get to heaven to praise God with all your being. Do it now. He deserves it!

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 6:1-8

Andrew Wommack’s Devotional 2 June 2018 – Build Faith, Destroy Doubt

Topic: Build Faith, Destroy Doubt [Andrew Wommack Saturday June 2, 2018]

Matthew 17:20 “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

Text: Matthew 17:9-20; Mark 9:9-27; Luke 9:37-42

The disciples’ unbelief in this instance was not a disbelief in God’s power to produce deliverance, but rather a “natural” kind of unbelief that came from a hardened heart that was more sensitive to what it saw than to what it believed. Jesus said that a very small amount of faith (a “mustard seed”) is sufficient to remove a mountain, if no unbelief is present to hinder it.

Jesus was disappointed that His disciples had not been able to cast this devil out. Most people would have had no criticism of these disciples. After all, it wasn’t normal to have power over evil spirits. However, Jesus had already given these disciples power and authority over all devils. These disciples had also already used this power and authority successfully on previous occasions, making them more accountable than others. They weren’t just normal men any longer. They had a supernatural ability and calling.

We also receive power from on high when the Holy Ghost comes upon us, and it becomes our normal Christian service to use this power to witness to others.

We can always look around and find plenty of Christians who are not using this power, but 2 Corinthians 10:12 says that comparing ourselves among ourselves is not wise. Most Christians are living so far below what God intended for them that when someone begins to live a normal Christian life (according to God’s standard), then everyone thinks he’s abnormal. We will be successful when we not only build our faith but destroy our doubts.

Billy Graham Devotional 2 June 2018 – No Regrets

Topic: No Regrets [Billy Graham’s Devotional Saturday June 2, 2018]

If we are living now by the Holy Spirit’s power, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.Galatians 5:25 (TLB)

When Bill Borden, son of the wealthy Bordens, went out to China as a missionary, many of his friends thought he was foolish to “waste his life,” as they put it, trying to convert a few heathens to Christianity. But Bill loved Christ and he loved men! He hadn’t been out there very long before he contracted an oriental disease and died. At his bedside they found a note that he had written while he was dying. It read, “No reserve, no retreat, and no regrets.” Bill had found more happiness in his few years of sacrificial service than most people find in a lifetime.

Prayer for the day: Help me not to count the cost of serving You, Lord Jesus, but let me be completely yielded to Your leading.

TREM Devotional 2 June 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – You Are In The Arena Of Grace

Topic: You Are In The Arena Of Grace [TREM Devotional Saturday June 2, 2018]

“Therefore, being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:1, 2

Beloved, you are standing on the arena of grace. The arena of grace is the arena of unmerited, undeserved and unearned favour of God. Stop trying to earn it! Just believe and receive! Any one that is trying to earn what God has already provided is disqualified. Don’t earn it! Stay disqualified and He will qualify you. Put it on His grace. You are standing on grace! That is why you will pass that examination. That is why you will not die poor. That is why you will build that house. That is why there won’t be any abandoned project in your life. You will travel to anywhere you want to travel to. You will drive the car you desire to drive. You cannot fail because you are standing on grace – unmerited and unearned.

When grace is at work, it is not dependent on you. Let God be God. Do you think He does not know about you? He knows every one of us. If He can know the number of your hair, how do you think He does not know where you are and your condition? There is hope for you! God will take you to higher heights. If no one has experienced it, you will set the precedence. We live by the hope of God’s word! The confident expectation that God will come through. God cannot lie!

Do you know why I don’t fret? I know I am standing on favoured ground. I am not mourning. I am not stressed up. I am not anxious. I am rejoicing. I am resting and sleeping; you should be doing the same too. Trust and let Him work! He is not going to disappoint you.

Seeds of Destiny 2 June 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Changing Your Life By Your Thought

Topic: Changing Your Life By Your Thought [Seeds of Destiny Saturday June 2, 2018]

Scripture: And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee. Luke 15:17-18.

Thought For The Day: When you come to your senses, you come to your changes.

Our anchor Scripture tells us a crucial part of a very interesting and insightful story in the Bible, the story of the prodigal son who left his father’s house after demanding for his portion of his father’s wealth. When he spent all his wealth in riotous living in a strange land, he began to suffer, and out of severe hunger, volunteered to work in a piggery in order to be able to eat the leftovers of food given to pigs. Then somewhere along the line, he came to himself. This means, a temporary loss of mentality was also responsible for his adversity. When there is a loss of awareness of who you are and what you have, your struggle in life continues.

One vital lesson to learn from this story is, a change of thought is a change of life; you change your life by changing your thought. Beloved, when you are able to tell yourself like the prodigal son, ‘Why am I still in this condition of life? Who are these people hanging around me? These are not my kind of people; I have a destiny that is bigger than this…’ that is the beginning of your breakthrough in life. For instance, the moment the prodigal son changed his mind, he returned to where he belonged and his life changed.

Anyone who is down today must change his or her mind in order to move up in life; a change of mentality is a change of locality. Every time there is a use of sense, there is a change of season. When you come to your senses, you reach your changes.

Beloved, my counsel is, sit with the Word of God and reason with yourself; if your experience does not tally with your revelation, reject it; if your revelation does not marry your situation, reject your situation.

Remember this: When you come to your senses, you come to your changes.

Assignments:
1. Change your life by changing your mind.
2. Read God’s Word to align with what God says about you.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to change the way I think in order to have a change of life. Help me to know what You said about me in Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 2 June, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Power And Possibilities Of Praying

Topic: Power And Possibilities Of Praying [DCLM Daily Manna Saturday June 2, 2018]

Text: Luke 11:1-13 (KJV)

Key Verse: “For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened” (Luke 11:10).

MESSAGE:

The news caused some excitement in some quarters and anxiety in others when some years ago, medical authorities of a specialist hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, United States, randomly selected 990 heart patients from their Coronary Care Unit and divided them into two groups. The aim was to find out whether or not it could be proved scientifically that prayer works. The names of patients belonging to the first group with little or no medical attention were sent to Christian intercessory groups to be prayed for, while the second group were given intensive medical care without prayer treatment.

The outcome of the scientific experiment slated to last four weeks surprised the cynical researchers. A medical check-up conducted after the experiment showed that the patients belonging to the group that were given little medical care but intensive prayer treatment recovered faster than the patients given only intensive medical care but no prayer treatment.

The disciples had been with Jesus and noticed that He placed importance on prayers. They decided that they needed to learn to pray and asked the Lord to teach them how to pray. Jesus gave a model of prayer, which is referred to as the Lord’s Prayer. He further explained the reason and effectiveness of prayer using the need of an importunate friend at midnight.

Many Christians pray, yet they remain disappointed as a result of unanswered prayers. The major reasons are sin (secret and unconfessed) and unbelief. To fully enjoy the power and possibilities of prayer, you need to get rid of all sins and manifest faith when you pray that God will fulfil His promises.

Thought For The Day: Sin and unbelief frustrate the possibilities of prayer.

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Saturday, 2 June 2018 – Don’t Slide Backwards

TOPIC: Don’t Slide Backwards (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Saturday, 2 June 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 2:19-21

MEMORY VERSE:
“Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.” – Jeremiah 2:19

The MESSAGE:

The word ‘backsliding’ or ‘backslider’ does not appear in the New Testament. It was used in the Old Testament to refer to the Israelites or Jews who are God’s chosen people but often times fall prey to idol worship as practised by other nations. They were enticed by the immoral acts of neighbouring countries and sinned against God. Consequently, they were punished by God. The sin of backsliding and forsaking the Lord as described in the Fire Scripture is an evil thing and bitter. God abhours backsliding and always desires that the backslider returns to Him in repentance. Otherwise, God will use the wickedness of the backslider to correct and reprove him accordingly.

The rate at which Christians backslide today is alarming and very worrisome. Backsliding is not just a situation of falling backwards. It also hinders moving forward, thereby creating a stagnant life in Christ. In our walk with God, there is no stand still posture, it’s either you’re progressing or regressing. Failure to keep fellowship with your maker in daily devotion involving prayers, Bible reading and praise to Him are sure signs that you are gliding backward in your walk with God. Avoidance of the gathering of believers for fellowship is an indication that you are not following the counsel of God.

Backsliding is not a sudden event, it naturally follows a gradual process. What you do or fail to do every day of your life either builds or destroys you. In another dimension, some Christians have adopted the vocabulary of the world, laying blame on global economy (recession) for their absence at church functions and stinginess in giving offerings and tithes. God has planted us a noble vine, it will be an absurdity to degenerate to a strange vine. Hold on to the counsel of Isaiah 55:7 “… return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
If you must win, you must not quit serving Jesus.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall not walk away from the Master.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Give quality praise to God that has loved and upheld you till now.
2. Agenda of the enemy to make me to backslide, fail, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every step of mine that has taken me away from God, I retrace you to God, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Power assigned to steal my salvation, die, in the name of Jesus.
5. Spiritual armed robber assigned against my soul, die, in the name of Jesus.
6. Powers that want me to backslide, die, in the name of Jesus.
7. I shall not sleep when I should pray, in the name of Jesus.
