MESSAGE:

It is a dangerous thing to trust in great men, wealthy men or even leaders because they can disappoint you any time their strength, wisdom, resources or morals fail them. It is even more dangerous to trust in self. You may be brilliant, but academic success comes from God. You may have lots of things to make you happy, but joy comes from God. You may have diverse security devices, but safety is a product that only Heaven can deliver to you.

Wherever you are today, it is not by your power, wisdom or making; it is absolutely God’s doing. Realizing your progress is not entirely your making should bring you great joy, because the God working behind the scenes to get you where you should be will ensure that you reach your destination. Appreciate God for all that He is doing through you. It is not you, but Him.

Key Point: The one who is truly secure and successful is the one that totally depends on God.

Topic: Receive the Man of God [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Monday May 28, 2018]

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. – John 13:20

I can’t tell you how many born-again, Holy Ghost-filled Christians pick their pastor apart on Saturday night and then expect him to pray the prayer of faith for them Sunday morning! They’ll constantly make critical comments about the evangelists and preachers that God has sent to minister to them and then wonder why the rain of the Spirit has all but dried up in their churches.

Most of those folks would never dream of criticizing the ministry of Jesus. Yet, according to the Word of God, that’s precisely what they’re doing. You see, Jesus said, “He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me.”

I know ministers fail sometimes. I know they make mistakes. Jesus knew they would too. But, even so, He said, “If you receive them, you receive Me.”

If you think some preacher’s doctrine is wrong, then pray for him. Stop sitting under his ministry if necessary. But the Scripture says, “Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand” (Romans 14:4, New International Version).

The ministers of the gospel are not your servants, they’re God’s servants. Whether they’re right or whether they’re wrong, love them and respect them if for no other reason than to honor the One who sent them.

Learn to receive the minister of God that Jesus sends to you with the same respect and the same honor that you would give Jesus Himself. You’ll open the door for great spiritual power to be released. You’ll clear the way for God to meet your needs. The Anointing of God will be released through the man of God to you.

Refuse to let criticism hold back the Anointing of the Holy Spirit. Then get ready to be blessed because, I guarantee, He won’t hold out on you.

Topic: Jesus, The Chief Cornerstone [Andrew Wommack Monday May 28, 2018]

Matthew 16:18, “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Text: Matthew 16:13-19

Some people have mistakenly interpreted this passage to say that Peter was the foundation on which Christ would build His Church. However, that would violate many scriptures that refer to Jesus as the “chief cornerstone.”

Ephesians 2:20 does mention the apostles as being part of the foundation stones of Christ’s church, but it doesn’t single Peter out above any of the other apostles, This same scripture once again mentions Jesus as the “chief cornerstone.”

There are two different Greek words used for “Peter” and “rock” respectively in verse 18. The word used for “Peter” means “rock” but signifies a piece of rock like a pebble. In contrast, the word translated as “rock” signifies a massive rock which certainly refers to Jesus, the “chief cornerstone.” Some have suggested that the foundation rock referred to was confession that Peter made saying that Jesus was “the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Mt. 16:16). Although it is true that, to enter God’s kingdom, we do have to confess that Jesus is Lord (Rom. 10:9-10), in light of the Old Testament prophecies and New Testament references to Jesus being the “chief cornerstone,” this passage of scripture must be referring directly to Jesus as the “rock” upon which He will build His church.

One of the greatest differences between the New Testament believer and the Old Testament believer is the fact that New Testament saints are the temple of God. God Himself actually indwells us. God does not dwell in a building made by man’s hands. He now lives in the hearts of those who make Jesus their Lord (Rom. 10:9). The cornerstone of our lives in God must be an ever-increasing revelation of His Son. If we had a real understanding of the reality of Christ in us (Col. 1:27), it would drastically change our attitudes, emotions, and actions.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above . . . — James 1:17

God, in His mercy and goodness, has endowed every man with certain gifts, talents, and capabilities. These are not to be used selfishly for our own profit, but for the glory of God and for the building of His kingdom. Our personalities, our intelligence, and our capabilities are gifts from His own bountiful hand. If we divert their use for our own profit, we become guilty of selfishness.

It is good business for an employee or junior partner in the firm to work for the profit and interest and glory of the owner. When the owner profits, all members of the firm profit. So, as stewards of our talents, we should invest them for the glory, praise, and honor of God. If God is glorified, we as His partners will be blessed. Our voices, our service, and our abilities are to be employed, primarily, for the glory of God.

Prayer for the day: Everything I have, You have given me, Father. Now give me wisdom to use these gifts completely in Your will.

Topic: You Have Been Empowered By Grace [TREM Devotional Monday May 28, 2018]

“And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.” Acts 13:39

The law kills you, the law condemns you, the law judges you and brings out your mistakes but it doesn’t tell you how to get out of it. But grace did not only get you out, it also empowered you to live above the law.

You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Even when you make a mistake, you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Even when you fall, you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Even when you stumble, you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Do you know why? Because it was given to you! You didn’t have to do anything for it. It is a gift that God gave. If you must do something to earn it, then it’s no more a gift. That is why you will rule over every circumstance.

God says those who have received the abundance of grace and gift of righteousness shall reign. We are not waiting until Jesus comes before we reign. No! We are not waiting to reign when we get to heaven. We are in charge right now! Amen!

You are in charge of every circumstance and over situations. You will come out of that sickness! You will come out of that disease! That tumour will disappear! Whatever it is, it will bow to you. Money will not embarrass you.

When grace empowers you, it is not only for spiritual blessing. Grace empowers you with all-around blessings. That was why the Apostle John wrote in 3 John 2 “I wish above ALL things that you prosper …” Everything that pertains to life and godliness is already available to you. So, don’t lose your focus. Keep looking unto Jesus. As Jesus cannot fail, so you also cannot fail. Lines are falling unto you in pleasant places. You have a goodly heritage. Your heritage is good in Jesus name.

How the mighty have fallen! 2 Samuel 1:27

After serving his country for two decades as a helicopter pilot, James returned home to serve his community as a teacher. But he missed helicopters, so he took a job flying medical evacuations for a local hospital. He flew until late in his life.

Now it was time to say goodbye to him. As friends, family, and uniformed co-workers stood vigil at the cemetery, a colleague called in one last mission over the radio. Soon the distinctive sound of rotors beating the air could be heard. A helicopter circled over the memorial garden, hovered briefly to pay its respects, then headed back to the hospital. Not even the military personnel who were present could hold back the tears.

When King Saul and his son Jonathan were killed in battle, David wrote an elegy for the ages called “the lament of the bow” (2 Samuel 1:18). “A gazelle lies slain on your heights,” he sang. “How the mighty have fallen!” (v. 19). Jonathan was David’s closest friend and brother-in-arms. And although David and Saul had been enemies, David honored them both. “Weep for Saul,” he wrote. “I grieve for you, Jonathan my brother” (vv. 24, 26).

Even the best goodbyes are oh-so-difficult. But for those who trust in the Lord, the memory is much more sweet than bitter, for it is never forever. How good it is when we can honor those who have served others!

Prayer: Lord, we thank You for those who serve their communities as First Responders. We humbly ask You for their safety.

We honor the Creator when we honor the memory of those who honored Him.

Topic: Securing Your Future By Appreciation [Seeds of Destiny Monday May 28, 2018]

Scripture: Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. Habakkuk 3:17-18.

Thought For The Day: If you cannot appreciate God for where He has brought you from, then you can never accelerate to where He is taking you to.

It has been confirmed that the future is never guaranteed for the frustrated. The agreement to be frustrated is the agreement to forfeit destiny. That is, existing and remaining in the realm of frustration aborts one’s future. Destiny does not deliver for the depressed. Life is never fruitful for the ungrateful.

Show me a man who decides to permanently remain frustrated, depressed and ungrateful, and I will show you a man who will forfeit his destiny, future and fruitfulness in life. If you cannot appreciate God for where He has brought you from, then you can never accelerate to where He is taking you to. To secure your future, you must always be grateful to God. Destiny cannot happen for a man who refuses to be happy.

Every attack on your joy by the devil is an attack on your destiny. Every time the devil organizes a situation to make you unhappy, depressed or frustrated, it is an indirect attack on your destiny because he knows that anything that weighs you down slows you down.

So, you must be excited not just because there is a reason to, but because it is the right thing to do; decide to be excited not by feeling but by choice. This is because joy is not a gift but a choice (Philippians 4:4). Decide to choose how to feel.

Remember this: If you cannot appreciate God for where He has brought you from, then you can never accelerate to where He is taking you to.

Assignments:
1. Refuse to live a lifestyle of depression.
2. Be contented with your current situation of life and give thanks to God

Prayer: O Lord, I refuse to be depressed and frustrated. Help me to be excited always and maintain the spirit of excitement, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Promotion Comes From God [DCLM Daily Manna Monday May 28, 2018]

Text: Genesis 41:33-49 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt” (Genesis 41:41).

MESSAGE:

Joseph’s rise from a slave and prisoner to the position of second-in-command to the king of ancient Egypt represents a monumental testimony to the faithfulness and omnipotence of God. If He appears not to be answering the agonising prayer of the oppressed and uncompromising prayer of the believer, it is obviously not because He is short of solutions. Joseph was persecuted, yet, he kept on honouring God under those circumstances. Eventually, God rewarded his unbending consecration and commitment in a grand style.

There is no record that Joseph was disillusioned or that he renounced his faith in God despite all his setbacks. While he experienced these disappointments, he still served God and humanity. His right relationship with God assured him that divine solution would come. He did not need to cut corners or resort to animosity against those who had hurt him. The important lesson is that the Christian must believe unreservedly in God’s promise: “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5).

As Christians, we must not refrain from acts of kindness to those who seek to hurt us and others. We must also have a selfless motive when serving God and persons. Our actions must be with the purpose of honouring God. Joseph used his God- given skill to interpret dreams in a prison at a time he also needed deliverance and comfort for punishment he did not deserve. The negative period we also experience should not be an excuse to desist from acts of goodness to others. Being good to people, according to God’s way, is only a step to earning God’s promotion.

Thought For The Day: God is preparing your promotion as you resist Satan’s temptation.
