Praising God starts your day right. Start thanking God as soon as you get out of bed in the morning. Hebrews 13:15 says, Let us constantly and at all times offer up to God a sacrifice of praise, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify His name (AMPC).

Jesus said, Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within them (John 7:38 NIV). Acknowledge the Lord, and drink that living water.

Prayer Starter: Father, I take a moment right now to thank and praise You for how wonderful You are! Thank You for sending Jesus to die for our sins, and thank You for every good thing You do for me each and every day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Topic: Are You Born Again? [Teens Open Heavens 27, May 2018]

Memorise: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit. John 3:6

Read: John 3:5-6 (KJV)

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

MESSAGE:

If you are born again, it will show in all areas of your life. It will affect your desires, priorities, goals and association. Being born again is a spiritual rebirth. It is when you take a trip to the womb of the Spirit and you are born a new creature. It is when you confess and leave behind your sins and subject yourself under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. One thing about this spiritual rebirth is that it will stir up intense hunger for the presence of God in you; all you will want is more of God, and you will make sure to walk only in the light of God’s Word. This means that your lifestyle totally changes, and all your actions are weighed by the Word of God and the Spirit of God within you.

There is no such thing as being partially born again. When you are born again, you shouldn’t tell lies at all; don’t say “now I only tell ‘white’ lies.” When you are born again, you should never take what isn’t yours, don’t say “I only take my mother’s loose change.” As a born again Christian, how often do you pray and study the Word of God? There is no new birth without commensurate change.

Topic: Petition Not Repetition [Andrew Wommack Sunday May 27, 2018]

Mark 8:24-25, “And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.”

Topic: Matthew 7:7-11; Mark 8:22-25

It was unusual for Jesus to inquire about the results of His ministry as He did in verse 23. It was even more unusual that Jesus laid hands on this man a second time. This is the only example in the New Testament where Jesus had to minister to any need more than once to affect a total healing.

Many people request things from God and then look at their circumstances to see if God answered their prayer. That is walking by sight and not by faith. If they can’t “see” God’s answer, then they pray again asking for the same thing. This is not the way Jesus taught us to pray and receive. We can be certain that Jesus didn’t lay hands on this man a second time because He thought His Father hadn’t heard Him the first the time. Since the man received partial sight, it is evident that God’s healing power was at work in him. Jesus was not petitioning His Father again for healing.

Through His spirit, Jesus knew that unbelief was hindering a perfect manifestation of God’s power in this man, and He simply gave him another “dose” of the anointing power of God. Satan may hinder, but cannot overcome someone who continues resisting him. Believe that you received when you prayed and continue to apply the power of God. Press in such a degree that you can confront anything that is contrary to what you have asked and overcome it. Perseverance in prayer is the key to overcoming Satan – not God.

Topic: Develop Your Faith [TREM Devotional Sunday May 27, 2018]

“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3

Faith is so important that God had to give us faith when we got saved. It is part of your heritage the day you got saved. Every believer has faith. Every one of us has the measure of faith. We started with the same measure. You may not have been developing your own and that is why the Bible talks about little faith, small faith and great faith. Faith grows! It all depends on how you exercise your own, just like your muscles got stronger when you do exercises. So, faith can be exercised; although every one of us started at the same level.

Hebrews 11:6 says “But without faith, it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him”. So, if without faith I can’t please God, how would God want me to please Him when He didn’t give me faith? And so, we have read that he had dealt unto us the measure of faith when we got saved. Everyone has the measure. We have the measure with which we can start. When we begin to act on it we will produce results.

Ephesians 2:8 says “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves”. Both the grace and the faith do not belong to you. God gave them to you. So, you have faith. But you must grow your faith. Develop it daily by believing and acting upon God’s Word in your day to day activities and watch all seemingly impossible situations become possible in your life. I bless you today in the name of the Lord.

Topic: God with Skin On [Our Daily Bread 27 Sunday May, 2018]

Read: Romans 12:9–18, Bible in a Year: 2 Chronicles 1–3; John 10:1–23

Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Romans 12:13

My husband left for a month-long trip, and almost immediately I was overwhelmed by the needs of my job, our house, and our children. A writing deadline loomed. The lawn mower broke. My children were on school break and bored. How would I take care of all of these things on my own?

I soon realized I wasn’t on my own. Friends from church showed up to help. Josh came over to fix my lawn mower. John brought me lunch. Cassidy helped with the laundry. Abi invited my kids over to play with hers so I could get my work done. God worked through each of these friends to provide for me. They were a living picture of the kind of community Paul describes in Romans 12. They loved sincerely (v. 9), considered the needs of others rather than just their own (v. 10), shared with me when I was in need, and showed hospitality (v. 13).

Because of the love my friends showed to me, I remained “joyful in hope” and “patient in affliction” (v. 12), even the mild affliction of solo parenting for a month. My brothers and sisters in Christ became what one friend calls “God with skin on” for me. They showed me the kind of sincere love we ought to show to everyone, especially those in our community of faith (Galatians 6:10). I hope to be more like them.

Prayer: God, thank You for placing us in communities. Help me to look out for others’ needs and to show hospitality.

To whom do I need to be “God with skin on” today?

Insight:

The practice of hospitality is a key teaching in the New Testament. Jesus told His disciples to depend on the hospitality of those they ministered to (Matthew 10:11; Luke 10:7–8). Jesus also received hospitality from others (Mark 2:15; 14:3; Luke 7:36). Mary and Martha opened their home to Jesus (Luke 10:38), and this is probably where He stayed each time He came to Jerusalem (see Matthew 21:17). Luke mentioned a group of women who “were helping to support [Jesus and the twelve disciples] out of their own means” (Luke 8:3). The apostle John commended Gaius for his cheerful generosity and loving hospitality because he provided itinerant Bible teachers a place to stay (3 John 1:5–8).

When we lovingly support ministry workers in practical ways, we are their partners in ministry (v. 8). Therefore, Paul urges us, “When God’s people are in need, be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice hospitality” (Romans 12:13 nlt). Peter echoed the same sentiment: “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other . . . . Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay” (1 Peter 4:8–9 nlt). K. T. Sim

Topic: God Wants You Well [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Sunday May 27, 2018]

If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee. – Exodus 15:26

Has the devil ever tried to put you under condemnation by telling you that it’s contrary to the principles of faith to use doctors and medicine when you need healing? If so, here are some encouraging words that I believe will help you put your heart at rest.

It is God’s will to heal you. That’s the first and most important thing for you to understand. If your faith is strong and you can believe the Word without wavering (regardless of what circumstances or symptoms come against you), then you’ll be able to receive that healing by faith alone.

But that kind of faith takes more than just hearing a few sermons about healing. It takes a deep personal revelation of God’s healing power. So, if you haven’t yet developed that kind of faith, the doctor is your best friend.

If you’re not certain whether your faith is strong enough or whether you need a doctor’s help, follow the instructions of the Apostle Paul (Colossians 3:15) and let peace be your umpire.

If fear rises up within you when you think about doing without medical help, then go to a doctor. And go in faith! On the other hand, if you have a sure confidence within you that healing is yours strictly by faith, let your faith do its work and receive your healing directly. Whether or not you go to the doctor is not the issue. It is what you do with your faith.

Either way, you can rejoice knowing God is working with you, meeting you at the level of your faith. Thank God for your healing—however it comes!—and do not let Satan put you under condemnation. It is none of his business!

Topic: Embracing The Responsibility Of Bringing Up Your Children [Seeds of Destiny Sunday May 27, 2018]

Scripture: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Thought For The Day: God will hold you responsible for the outcome of your children in time and in eternity.

Today is children’s day! It important to know that children are God’s precious gifts (Psalm 127:3). Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that the way a child is trained is the way he would go in life. For example, prostitutes, armed robbers, entrepreneurs, presidents of nations, etc. are all products of parental upbringing. Therefore, it is important, as parents, to embrace the responsibility of bringing up our children in the way of the Lord.

Now, why is it necessary to embrace the responsibility of raising your children? I will give you three reasons:
1) To delegate your children’s upbringing to other people is to leave them at the mercy of the values and principles of those people and that may be destructive to your children’s lives and destinies.
2) If you do not accept the responsibility of raising your children today, they will end up as liabilities tomorrow.
3) God will hold you responsible for the outcome of your children in time and in eternity; He will not hold the teachers or the nannies responsible.

I heard a story of a small boy who was just about ten years old. He killed his younger brother with a knife. People could not believe that such a little boy had such evil intentions. When he was asked why he killed his brother, he said that he was watching a particular cartoon program and one of the characters told him to kill his brother. So, he decided to carry out the act.

Beloved, my counsel is, as parents; never delegate your children’s upbringing to other people; do it yourself.

Remember this: God will hold you responsible for the outcome of your children in time and in eternity.

Assignments:
1. Accept the responsibility of raising your children; do not delegate it to anyone.
2. Pray for/with your children, and teach them God’s Word always.
3. Expose them to practical life lessons and monitor their growth and progress.

Prayer: O Lord, thank You for the gift of children You have given me. I ask for the grace and wisdom to train my children in Your Way, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
