MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Friday, 18 May 2018 – True Prosperity

TOPIC: True Prosperity (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Friday, 18 May 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: 2 Corinthians 8:9-12

MEMORY VERSE:
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” – 3 John 2

The MESSAGE:

Prosperity is God’s desire for His children. God never intends for any of His children to be poor. His utmost desire is expressed in the above memory verse. Prosperity in the light of the above memory verse comes from the Greek word “euodoo” which is a figurative expression meaning to succeed in business affairs. It means a success in reaching a journey (destination).

Prosperity is of different types; we have spiritual prosperity, material prosperity, financial prosperity and so on. The term prosperity has been misconceived and misused. In most arenas, it is now equated with mammon. Prosperity is good but a lot of emphasis is placed on material prosperity rather than the giver of prosperity.

Indeed, what is true prosperity? This is one in which the soul is rich in God. Jesus said, “A man’s life does not consist in the abundance of what he has –his possessions”. True prosperity is found in a soul who has met God. A soul, who is genuinely converted, repented and has been washed from his or her sins. True prosperity is found with the soul who is born again, the soul who has met Jesus Christ. True prosperity is found with the soul who is seeking the kingdom of God first and knowing full well the additions (material and financial prosperity) are coming. The devil has successfully deluded so many in presenting mammon as true prosperity. They see material possessions and extreme or desperate wealth acquisition alone as true prosperity, while neglecting the prosperity of their souls. These folks do not pray any more. They do not read their Bibles nor do they evangelise Christ. They do not have the true prosperity.

True prosperity first comes when the sinner gives his life to Jesus Christ and gets born again and seeks the kingdom of God thereafter by being a Bible addict, interceding and praying for the kingdom, being an aggressive soul winner, having a daily, unbroken quite time and devotion.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
He prospers, who seeks after God.

PROPHETIC WORD:
The Lord your God is the All-sufficient One, you shall not die poor.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. I refuse to be poor, in the name of Jesus.
2. Anointing of true prosperity, fall upon my life, in Jesus’ name.
3. Wealth of sinners, be transferred to me now, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. I move from minimum to maximum, in the name of Jesus.
5. I shall not die poor, in the name of Jesus.
6. Whether my enemies like it or not, I will be rich, in the name of Jesus.
7. My Father, arise and bless the works of my hands, in the name of Jesus.

Josh Holt, American Mormon Missionary Imprisoned Without Trial in Venezuela, Calls for Help as Inmates Seize Prison

Josh Holt, a former Mormon missionary who’s been imprisoned in Venezuela since June 2016, begged the U.S. government for help Wednesday, saying his life was under threat as riots erupted and inmates took over the Helicoide detention center where he’s being held in Caracas.

“Help me please United States, how long do I have to suffer unjustly in this place? They want to kill me and paint the walls with my blood. I am a political prisoner and they won’t let me free. They won’t give me a true trial,” Holt, 26, wrote in a post on Facebook about his time at the detention center which is the headquarters of intelligence agency Sebin in Venezuela’s capital.

“The Sebin has told me that as long as my government continues attacking this government and as long as Marco Rubio continues talking about me the longer that they will never let me go. People here are dying, we need help. Please send me help, please send people to save me. Please, my fellow Americans, don’t allow me to continue suffering in Venezuela. I am not a political pawn. I am a human being, a child of God and I just want to live happy with my wife and children. I have NEVER done anything wrong in my life. Please help me!!” he pleaded in the post.

According to The Salt Lake Tribune, Holt and his wife, Thamara “Thamy” Caleno, were arrested on suspicion of illegally possessing weapons in 2016. The former missionary and his wife, who are both committed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, met online. Holt fell in love and traveled to Venezuela to propose. He married Caleno five days…

Other Countries Are Following U.S. Lead in Moving Embassies to Jerusalem

(L to R) Sara Netanyahu and her husband Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin applaud as Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales and his wife Hilda Patricia Marroquin cut the ribbon during the inauguration ceremony of the Guatemalan embassy in Jerusalem on May 16, 2018.

Looks like America is truly leading the way on the world stage once again.

In the week that followed the opening of the U.S. embassy in Jerusalem — a controversial decision by President Trump — other countries have indicated that they will do the same.

Guatemala opened its embassy in Israel’s capital with a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara.

According to CNBC, other countries will be making the move as well. Paraguay announced that it’s embassy will move to Jerusalem. And reports indicate that Czech Republic, Romania, and Honduras are also considering relocation.

TREM Devotional 18 May 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – You Have Been Made Righteous

Topic: You Have Been Made Righteous [TREM Devotional Friday May 18, 2018]

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”2 Corinthians 5:21

When you truly understand, believe and receive the love that God has for you, you will be surprised that there is nothing that you will request of the Lord that He will deny you. This is because you will be approaching Him from a different perspective and a different standpoint.

One of the major hindrances that I have found out that makes it difficult for believers to receive what God has already promised is the fact that we approach Him based on our merits. We come in our own merits. We try to tell Him all the good things we have done. It’s not wrong to do good things. There is nothing wrong in living right, in working for the kingdom or in labouring. We ought to do all that. That is what righteous people do. And according to our text, we have been made righteous. We were made righteous. It is a gift. So, righteous people do righteous things.

Righteous people don’t steal. They don’t kill. They don’t commit adultery. They don’t fornicate. They don’t do all kinds of evil. They are not drunkards. Righteous people live for God: They are quick to forgive; they love their spouses. Righteous people work in the kingdom. They are involved in different aspects of the ministry. Righteous people give offerings. They make donations and they pay their tithes. Righteous people do righteous things, while sinners sin.

Don’t expect a sinner not to sin. He will sin because he’s a sinner. It is just like telling a chicken to give birth to a lion. Is that possible? It’s not possible because it is a chicken. Chickens lay eggs. It is natural for chickens to lay eggs. It’s natural for a fish to swim because it lives inside water. Bring the fish out of water, it will die after a few moments. Praise God, you have been made righteous through Christ Jesus. Now you can live right and do right.

DCLM Daily Manna 18 May, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Mistaken Love

Topic: Mistaken Love [DCLM Daily Manna Friday May 18, 2018]

Text: 2 Samuel 13:1-19 (KJV)

Key Verse: “Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her. And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone” (2 Samuel 13:15).

MESSAGE:

If we are careful enough to double-check our feelings, notions, and the ideas we have about things and people before jumping into actions and conclusions about them, we will save ourselves and others from a lot of heartaches and pains. But people seldom do this. They are easily carried away with the first thought about things and end up sulking away in shameful and painful regret.

Amnon thought he loved Tamar. The feelings he had for her seemed to convince him about this. But he did not take time to truly examine the feeling in the light of what obtained in Israel and what the word of God says about such desires. His love was mistaken and the end was a disaster!

Many people have gone ahead to build their marriages, careers and even ministries on mistaken convictions. They are not patient enough to thoroughly examine what they thought was ‘love’. Some have jumped into marriages, hurried out to start a new ministry or join a new assembly, or get into business out of what has come to be known as “love at first sight”. Regrettably, they become so unfortunate to get friends and counselors who urge them on with their misguided and misjudged feelings. The results of these can be seen in the many broken homes, failed marriages, ruptured businesses, miscarried ministries and so on all around us today. Cases of murder, suicides and other crimes as a result of frustrations arising from these wrong decisions are quite rampant.

Christians must learn to be patient and allow the Holy Spirit and the word of God to lead them in everything. Our decisions and actions must not just be based on feelings and emotions. These surely do not last and so are unreliable. Our actions and decisions must be taken in the light of the word of God. Whatever is done outside of the sacred confines of God’s word will eventually end tragically.

Thought For The Day: True love does not lead to wrong actions.

Va. Ministry Opens First-Ever Church-Run Grocery Store to Provide Affordable Food to Needy

(Photo: Facebook.com / The Storehouse)Products are on display at The Vineyard Church’s The Storehouse in Hampton, Virginia.

A nondenominational church in Virginia claims to be the first church in history to open up its own nonprofit grocery store to provide its local impoverished community discounted groceries at up to three-quarters of the cost of regular grocery stores.

Last month, The Vineyard Church in Hampton hosted the grand relaunching of its nonprofit, The Storehouse. The Storehouse, which is located in the back of the church, exists with the purpose of providing affordable food and household necessities to many in the Hampton Roads area who don’t know where their next meal is going to come from.

Although The Storehouse first opened in October 2015, it was initially only a benefit available to church members, pastor Jacob Hopson told The Christian Post on Thursday. But as the store grew and Hopson and the church leadership got a better understanding of how to run it, the store was eventually opened up to the public.

“We went from once a month to every Saturday to doing it weekly. It went from doing it two or three days a week to doing it five days a week now and opening it up to the general public,” he explained. “We started off and saw that our members had about…

Teens Open Heavens 18 May 2018 – A Backsliding Tongue

Topic: A Backsliding Tongue [Teens Open Heavens 18, May 2018]

Memorise: Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. – Colossians 4:6

Read: 1 John 2:15-17 (KJV)

15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Bible In One Year: 2 Kings 20-22, John 6:45-71

MESSAGE:

Today’s reading commands us not to love the world. It is possible to live in the world and not love it. It is possible to live in the world and not be defiled by worldly pollution and allurement. What are the worldly things you must avoid? You must avoid worldly language. Matthew 12:36 says one day, you will account for the misuse of your tongue. As a child of God, you are to speak like Christ, it is wrong for you to use swear words. It is wrong to say things that fan the embers of lust, greed or vengeance in someone. It is wrong for you to swear, no matter the situation. People should be able to take your word as the truth. Your tongue is not to insult or abuse anyone no matter how nasty or provoking they are.

Prayer Point: Ask God to give you the grace to watch your mouth.

Hymn 7:

1. I am Thine O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3. Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4. There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

Sentence Upheld for Pastor in Algeria Stopped for Carrying Christian Literature

Sentence Upheld for Pastor in Algeria Stopped for Carrying Christian Literature

A case that began with police in Algeria stopping a Christian suspected of carrying Bibles in his car ended yesterday with a large fine for the church leader.

A judge in Tiaret, 600 kilometers (372 miles) southwest of Algiers, on Wednesday (May 16) denied pastor Nouredine Belabed’s appeal of a sentence of a 100,000-dinar (US$868) fine and payment of court fees under a controversial law that forbids “undermining the faith of a Muslim.” Belabed had received the sentence on March 8, including a three-month suspended prison term reduced from what had been a two-year prison term.

The 37-year-old father of three was traveling with a companion, identified only as 26-year-old Khalil, to Tiaret on March 14, 2015 when gendarmes stopped their vehicle, Pastor Belabed told Morning Star News. National Gendarmerie in Tiaret had contacted officers in Sidi Abderrahmane to report two suspects driving an Opel Zaphira coming from El-Bayadh toward Tiaret with Christian books on board.

“We went to El-Bayadh to see our Christian brothers, but also to answer the call of a man who contacted us to know Christ,” Pastor Belabed told Morning Star News. “I do not know him, but we are used to working that way. But once there, he called me to apologize for not being able to come. Back at a gendarmerie checkpoint at a junction, we were stopped to search the vehicle…

Archbishop of Canterbury to leads ceremony for new terrorism memorial

The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will attend the ceremony along with nearly 300 people who have lost relatives, friends and loved ones, as well as senior Government ministers.

Among the families expected will be survivors of the deadly Tunisian beach attack at Sousse in 2015, in which 30 Britons were killed.

The memorial, entitled Still Water, which was designed by Alison Wilding and Adam Kershaw.

Also present for the service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire will be Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, Home Secretary Sajid Javid and Tobias Ellwood, Minister for Defence People and Veterans.

The Duchess of Cornwall lays flowers during a dedication service for the National Memorial to British Victims of Overseas Terrorism at The National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire

Mr Ellwood, whose brother was killed in the 2002 Bali bombing, was tasked in 2015 with delivering the memorial.

Its design, as an elliptical-shaped pool surrounded by woodland, was selected by an independent panel, in consultation with victims’ relatives, in 2017.

The memorial has no dominating symbolism but was chosen as it reflected the global reach of terrorism and the continuation of life.

Speaking ahead of the unveiling, Mr Ellwood said: “Today is a day when we remember the lives of those who were…
