Seeds of Destiny 8 May 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: The Danger Of Unforgiveness

Topic: The Danger Of Unforgiveness Future [Seeds of Destiny Tuesday May 8, 2018]

Scripture: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11:25

Thought For The Day: Forgiveness can destroy sickness while unforgiveness can attract afflictions.
The Scriptures make it clear that one of the Attributes of God is His loving ability to forgive (Psalms 130:3-4). It is because of His willingness to forgive the sins of humanity that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins (John 3:16-18).

Unfortunately, the devil has caged many Christians through the lifestyle of unforgiveness. One of the weapons of the devil today is unforgiveness; he makes people harbour bitterness in their minds so he can truncate their destinies. Unforgiveness is dangerous; bitterness is deadly.

Now, let me give you five dangers of unforgiveness:
1. Unforgiveness attracts the ministry of tormentors
Unforgiveness attracts the ministry of tormentors (Matthew 18:34). If you do not forgive, you have given yourself to the tormentors to torment you with sickness – arthritis, ulcers and other different afflictions. Pain-inflicting demonic spirits are attracted to the one who does not forgive. That will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name. Beloved, forgiveness can destroy sickness while unforgiveness can attract afflictions.

2. Unforgiveness invites trouble into life
Unforgiveness is the root of bitterness which invites troubles into a person’s life (Hebrews 12:15).

3. Unforgiveness leads people to eternal damnation
Unforgiveness is a highway to hellfire (1 John 3:14). One who hates his brother is a murderer and no murderer has eternal life.
My counsel is, make up your mind never to live in unforgiveness. Receive the grace to forgive people their offenses.

Remember this: Forgiveness can destroy sickness while unforgiveness can attract afflictions.

Assignments:
1. Ask God to deal with every root of bitterness in your life.
2. Decide to forgive everyone who has offended you.
3. Develop the habit of forgiving everyone even before the offence is committed.

Prayer: O Lord, I release from my heart every form of bitterness and anger against anyone. I receive the grace to forgive them in order to receive forgiveness from You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 8 May, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Burning The Bridge Behind

Topic: Burning The Bridge Behind [DCLM Daily Manna Tuesday May 8, 2018]

Text: Ruth 1:1-18 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God” (Ruth 1:16).

MESSAGE:

A school of thought holds that decision determines destiny. In other words, it lies within any one’s ability to change whatever negative circumstances are brought across one’s path no matter its source or origin.

Severe famine had forced Elimelech into the heathen nation of Moab. While there, Elimelech and his two sons died. Naomi was left alone with her two daughters in-law. As the period of famine eased in her home country, Naomi decided to go back. When the two women volunteered to go with her, she tried hard to make them see the apparent futility of doing so. The tenor here is like, if I should say, I have hope, if I should have a husband also tonight and should bear sons, would you tarry for them until they were grown? One of them, Orpah, saw ‘reason’ and turned back to Moab “but Ruth clave unto her”.

Ruth renounced false religion and worship when she said to her mother in-law, “Thy people shall be my people and thy God my God”. And she thus made further entreaties by Naomi unnecessary. “So they two went until they came to Bethlehem’. Note that conversion to the true religion and the true God is a personal decision. It demands determination not to return to the rotten past. To face what lies ahead, there must be a total disconnect with the past life of sin.

Have you ever come to a crossroads where decision must be made on which way to go? To leave the known for the unknown? Do you take the line of least resistance and turn back like Orpah or remain steadfastly minded like Ruth? People who are scared about the unknown never get to reap God’s abundant blessings. Ruth walked against the treadmill, as it were, and became gloriously implanted into the Messiah’s lineage. You can also be divinely uplifted like Ruth, if you make God the major factor that influences your decision.

Thought For The Day: Steadfast commitment separates history makers from charlatans.

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Tuesday, 8 May 2018 – Love Your Neighbours As Yourself

TOPIC: Love Your Neighbours As Yourself (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Tuesday, 8 May 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Matthew 22:36-40

MEMORY VERSE:
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.”Matthew 7:12

The MESSAGE:

What does it mean to show love to your neighbour? It means to treat them in ways you want others to treat you. The problem with this is that people have little self-worth for themselves. Besides, many people do not know how they are meant to be treated. Some people also lack self-respect for themselves. If you do not know how to treat yourself right, you will not know how to treat your neighbours right.

The Bible encourages us to treat our neighbours right because this is what God expects from us (Zechariah 8:17). God wants us to love Him but before we can achieve that, we have to love our neighbours (1 John 4:20). If we cannot love our neighbours whom we see with both eyes, how can we claim to love God who we cannot see?

I heard of a man who would receive his salary and go to dump it at the feet of his pastor, until the pastor came visiting one day and saw his family in penury. He had to return the monies he had collected from the man and encouraged him to take care of his family better.

Which neighbours of yours have you treated badly? Locate them today as you read these words and plead for their forgiveness. By doing this, you will ensure a place for yourself in Heaven.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
YOU CANNOT GIVE WHAT YOU DO NOT HAVE, THEREFORE SEEK LOVE THAT YOU MIGHT GET IT AND GIVE.

PROPHETIC WORD:
As you start this new day, the love of God shall overshadow your life.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Lord Jesus, give me the ability to love, in the name of Jesus.
2. I bind every spirit of racism and tribalism, controlling my heart, in the name of Jesus.
3. Help me to love myself, O Lord, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Help me to love my neighbour as I love myself, in the name of Jesus.
5. Let the love of Christ manifest itself in my life tonight, in the name of Jesus.
6. Holy Spirit of God, teach me the love of Christ, in the name of Jesus.
7. My Father, let me be an example of Your love to everyone around me, in the name of Jesus.

Open Heavens 8 May 2018 Tuesday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Spiritual Warfare

Topic: Spiritual Warfare [Open Heavens 8th May 2018, Tuesday]

Memorise: Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.Hebrew 12:4

Read: 2 Timothy 2:16-19 (KJV)

16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;

18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.

19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Bible in One Year: 1 Samuel 20-21, James 1:1-18

MESSAGE:

Spiritual warfare is the fight of resistance and enforcement against the forces of evil (John 10:10). Although not discernible to a lot of people, this is a constant ongoing occurrence in the realm of the spirit (Luke 10:18). Spiritual warfare has its origin in the rebellion of Satan and his allied angels against God (Isaiah 14:12-15, Revelation 12:7-9). Satan is the prince of this world, and he leads a coalition of forces against God and anything connected to His purpose on earth. It is therefore important to note that mankind is the target of his attacks, regardless of religious affiliation, academic qualification, gender, age, culture or tribe. For this reason Revelation 12:12 says,

“…Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”

Many people do not accept this truth, and so they fall prey to the tricks of the enemy to make oblivious to his activities. When people begin to seek for natural or scientific solutions to a spiritual problem, it is bound to end in total failure. However, all thanks be to God, because the Lord Jesus has defeated and destroyed the devil through His death and resurrection. As a child of God, your responsibility is to enforce the victory won by Christ and utilize the enormous power He has vested in you against the tricks of Satan and his demonic angels (Ephesians 1:18-23). If you do not recognize who you are as a child of God and enforce your position in Christ against these evil forces, they will end up robbing you of what is rightfully yours.

As Christians, we are involved in a fight of faith to live in the reality of the victory that Christ has won and given over to us over the devil, the world system and the flesh (Hebrew 2:14-15, 1 john 5:4, Galatians 5:24). Satan deploys his attacks on Christians from two major fronts. He empowers the world system to attack and work against Christians externally through persecution, deception and seduction. He also attacks us internally by using the weaknesses of the natural body we currently possess to try to frustrate our commitment to serving God fully. The primary focus of the devil’s strategy is to entice us into sin, so as to break our fellowship with God. Jesus is our perfect example. He came into this world to destroy the works of the devil and to show us how to live above sin. He went through trials and temptation like we are facing today and yet He did not sin (Hebrew 4:15). He therefore expects us to be determined to resist sin, no matter the cost. Our loving and compassionate Father has perfected the mechanism to assist us to triumph over the wicked attacks of the devil, but He expects us to resist the temptation to sin with everything we have and not to fall prey to the antics of the devil like weaklings ( Corinthians 10:13).

Action Point: Assess every area of life where you’ve been falling like a weakling, and ask God for grace to triumph.

Hymn 16: Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus

1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus! ye soldiers of the cross;
Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss:
From vict’ry unto vict’ry, His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus! The trumpet call obey:
Forth to the mighty conflict, in this His glorious day;
Ye that are men now serve Him against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger, and strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up, stand up for Jesus! Stand in His strength alone,
The arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own;
Put on the gospel armor, and watching unto prayer,
Where calls the voice of duty, be never wanting there.

4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus! the strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle, the next the victor’s song;
To him that overcometh a crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory shall reign eternally.

Hezbollah Scores Major Gains in Lebanon Election

The leader of Lebanon’s Iranian-backed Hezbollah group declared “mission accomplished” Monday after scoring major gains in parliamentary elections, as the main Western-backed faction headed by Prime Minister Saad Hariri lost a third of its seats.

The results of Sunday’s election further bolster Iran’s allies in Lebanon and neighboring Syria at a time when Tehran faces growing Israeli threats and the prospect of the United States pulling out of a landmark nuclear deal negotiated with world powers.

They also underline the growing clout of the group in Lebanon where it dominates politically and militarily.

Hariri acknowledged the losses at a news conference in Beirut on Monday, but said “it’s not the end of the world.” The international community, he said, should look at the results in a “positive way” because they reflect democracy in Lebanon. He blamed his losses on a new election law and a performance by his political party “that wasn’t up to the standards.”

“My hand is extended to every Lebanese who participated in the elections to preserve stability and create jobs,” Hariri said in a televised statement. He said he would continue to work closely with President Michel Aoun, who is allied with the rival, Hezbollah-led bloc.

The official count, announced by Interior Minister Nouhad Machnouk at a news conference, shows that Hariri, a Sunni politician with close ties to Saudi Arabia, has lost at least five seats in Beirut, once considered his party’s stronghold.

Hariri told reporters that his Future Movement won 21 seats in Sunday’s vote, a decline of…

Outsiders in Lebanon Politics Make a Small Win Look Big

They won just one seat in Lebanon’s 128-seat national assembly, but they celebrated like they’d won 20. A grassroots movement of activists, journalists and other political newcomers said any presence in parliament was a landmark victory for its campaign against patronage in an era when politics is run as a family business.

Candidates and volunteers gathered at a Beirut shisha cafe erupted in cheers Sunday night when the first positive forecasts came in for the largest outsider campaign in recent memory — waged under the banner, “We are all Patriots,” or “Kulna Watani” in Arabic.

“I’m proud of all the volunteers and candidates who said ‘no’ to the face of the corrupt political class and to this vacuous political play we’ve been stuck in for years,” said Joumana Haddad, a novelist who campaigned on a platform of reforming Lebanon’s personal status laws that govern everything from marriage, divorce, inheritance and child custody.

Initial results on Sunday had shown that Haddad and another candidate, journalist Paula Yacoubian, were projected to take two seats for Watani. But official results announced late Monday showed Haddad had been edged out by another candidate and Watani won just one seat.

Haddad’s supporters, gathered outside the Interior Ministry before the official results were released, protested what they maintained were clear signs of fraud to deny her victory.

“The people in power didn’t like this result, so they proceeded with rigging the result at the last minute,” said Lucian Bourjeily, a writer and director who ran as a Watani…

Mexico Deploys Deportation Force Near Its Own Southern Border

On the Suchiate River dividing Mexico and Guatemala, it sure looks easy to cross north without papers.

A young, mustachioed man is pulling a makeshift raft across the quiet river via two ropes connecting the countries. The crossing costs 4 quetzales, 10 pesos or 50 U.S. cents. The raft captain says that nearby migration officials rarely intervene.

But the impression that Mexico is lax on migrants disappears as you head just a little north.

“They put up lots of checkpoints,” says Gustavo Rivera, a bus driver shuttling between Mexico’s southeastern border and the nearest city, Tapachula. “Immigration [agents], federal police, soldiers, local police. I don’t get many migrants on the bus anymore because of the checkpoints.”

President Trump singled out a group of families from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador heading to the United States as evidence that “Mexico is doing very little, if not nothing,” to stop immigration. But Mexico has actually assembled an aggressive enforcement strategy, with U.S. backing.

The strategy tightened up in 2014, shortly after American officials declared a crisis over the arrival of large numbers of Central American children at the U.S. border. The U.S. began funding Mexico’s immigration crackdown with the Southern Border Plan.

Rather than amassing troops on its border with Guatemala, Mexico stations migration agents, local and federal police, soldiers and marines to create a kind of containment zone in Chiapas state. With roving checkpoints and raids, Mexican migration agents have formed a formidable deportation force. Since the…

Witness Testifies Anonymously Against US Pastor in Turkey

A witness testifying anonymously against a U.S. pastor accused of spying and terror-related charges in Turkey claimed Monday that the American helped Kurdish militants and aimed to create a Christian Kurdish state, the country’s state-run news agency reported.

Pastor Andrew Craig Brunson forcefully rejected the claim in the second session of his trial, insisting he never permitted “politics to enter the church,” the Anadolu Agency reported.

The 50-year-old evangelical pastor from Black Mountain, North Carolina, faces up 35 years in prison in Turkey on charges of “committing crimes on behalf of terror groups without being a member” and “espionage.”

He denies any wrongdoing.

Brunson was arrested in the aftermath of a 2016 coup attempt in Turkey for alleged links to the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, as well as a network led by U.S.-based Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, who is blamed by Turkey for the political unrest. Gulen denies any knowledge of the failed coup.

Anadolu said a “secret witness” — described as a former parishioner and codenamed “Serhat” — testified via a long-distance system and claimed that Brunson helped Kurdish militants in various ways, including those fighting in Syria. He also claimed a Syrian who converted to Christianity helped Brunson.

Brunson, who has lived in Turkey for decades, forcefully rejected the claims.

Anadolu quoted Brunson as responding: “These accusations are shameful and disgusting. There is not one photograph or tape recording praising the PKK at the (Izmir) Resurrection Church. Our church had several…

Pastor Ron Carpenter preached his farewell sermon on Sunday and officially transferred leadership of the 21,000-member multi-campus Redemption Church in Greenville, South Carolina, to John Gray.

“I want the agreement of the house because this is not a trivial moment to me,” Carpenter, who founded Redemption in 1991, told the congregation. “This is the peaceful transference of power.”

Carpenter asked members of the church to lay their hands on Gray as he prayed for protection, wisdom and favor for Gray and his wife, Aventer. He then handed a key to Gray, noting he had it since the day he started Redemption.

“From this moment forward, this is Relentless Church,” Carpenter said after the emotional handoff, introducing the new name of the megachurch under Gray’s leadership.
