Seeds of Destiny 4 May 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Developing Strong Root In God

Topic: Developing Strong Root In God [Seeds of Destiny Friday May 4, 2018]

Scripture: And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward: Isaiah 37:31

Thought For The Day: Your root in God determines your place in life.

It has been confirmed that a strong root is needed in God in order to have a strong destiny in life. This is because your root in God determines your place in life; your foundation in God determines your destination in life.

Beloved, if you must go far in life, your foundation in God must be solid. If you want to grow tall in life, your root in God must be deep. To take root downwards is to bear fruit upwards.

Now, there are three categories of people on earth as far as destiny foundation or root is concerned;
i) People with zero root.
ii) People with shallow root.
iii) People with strong root.

One reason a witch can easily destroy a person is that his/her root is not strong in God. The wind that can blow and uproot an Iroko tree, for instance, hardly exists. This is because the Iroko tree has a strong root. A grass or shrub can easily be blown off or pulled up by the wind because of weak roots. Today, many people are at the mercy of the circumstances of life because of the shallowness of their root in God; they live so carelessly that it would not take any extra effort by the Enemy to pluck up their lives; this ought not to be so.

Now, how do you develop strong and rugged root in God? It is by the fervency of prayers, intensity of fasting, consistency in the study the study of God’s Word and brutal commitment to God. When you do these, your future is great and no devil can stop it.

Remember this: Your root in God determines your place in life.

Assignments:
1. Decide to develop a strong root in God.
2. Be fervent in prayer and fasting and consistent in the study of God’s Word.

Prayer: O Lord, deliver me from the shallowness of my Christian life. I ask for the grace to develop a strong root in You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 4 May, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Set Apart For Holy Use

Topic: Set Apart For Holy Use [DCLM Daily Manna Friday May 4, 2018]

Text: Psalm 4:1-8 (KJV)

Key Verse: “But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him” (Psalm 4:3).

MESSAGE:

A visitor going into the studio of a great painter found on his easel, some very fine gems, brilliant and sparkling. Asked why he kept them there, the painter replied, “I kept them there to tone up my eyes, when I am working in pigments; insensibly the sense of colour becomes weakened. By having these pure colours before me to refresh my eyes, the sense of colour is brought up again just as the musician by his tuning fork brings his string up to the concert pitch”.

The psalm under consideration may have been written at the time when David asked his enemies to reconsider their support for Absalom. Others see it as a prayer for relief from calamity or affliction. Whichever way it is, one thing stands out in this psalm, that is, the special place godly people occupy in the heart of God. The Bible says, God “hath set apart him that is godly for himself”. God readily identifies with the godly to protect and provide for them in times of need. The godly are people who are faithful and devoted to Him. David, because of the confidence he had in God, knew that He would hear and answer him when he called. He further admonishes everyone to fear God, run away from sin and put their trust in God.

The deliverance, preservation and protection of the godly are to keep them for the sacred service of God. There are many souls (men, women, youths and children) to be brought into the kingdom of God. There are converts to be discipled and established in the Lord. God is depending on those who have known the truth to persuade others who are yet to know Him.

God daily protects us from all evils and keeps us in the faith by His unfailing grace, to be actively involved in His service. Those who are genuinely saved, but still shy away from God’s workforce should get on board without delay.

Thought For The Day: We are saved, separated and secured to serve God.

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Friday, 4 May 2018 – Sinful Thoughts (II)

TOPIC: Sinful Thoughts (II) (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Friday, 4 May 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 9:16-21

MEMORY VERSE: “For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.” – 2 Samuel 22:23

The MESSAGE:
The Scriptures encourage us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10), but the reverse is the case with some Christians when it comes to the challenges of life.

Christians do not spend quality time anymore reading the word of God, unlike what obtains with the early Christians (Acts 17:11). We are more concerned about entertaining ourselves, seeking material things and pursuing vanity as a means of escaping the realities of life. We have Christians who spend their time watching football matches and ungodly programmes on the television, when they should be in fellowship. They also play unprofitable video games, listen to unedifying music and spend time on the social media to the detriment of their souls.

Some Christians have also fallen into the trap of pornography, adultery, fornication, masturbation and different kinds of sexual abuse as an escape mechanism because they have neglected the word of God. These indulgences are traps and spiritual cages that the devil has designed to distract and destroy the church and many are they that have fallen victim of these, some times without even realising it until they are completely consumed.

The way forward is to study the word of God (Hebrews 4:12). The Bible says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2). The word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of our hearts. It helps to purge and purify our minds from all sorts of uncleanness. That is why we should endeavour to study it every day (Joshua 1:8).

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
Thoughts are doorways, they either lead you to salvation or bring you to damnationn.

PROPHETIC WORD:
Every thought of rebellion and disobedience poisoning your mind shall die today.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Holy Spirit of God, heal my mind, in the name of Jesus.
2. Holy Spirit of God, restore my mind and bring it back from wherever it has been taken to, in the name of Jesus.
3. Every spirit of emptiness and worldliness abiding in my mind, pack your load and get out, in Jesus’ name.

EVENING
4. I overrule every operation of godlessness flowing into my mind, in the name of Jesus.
5. Canker worms and caterpillars ravaging my mind, receive the judgement of fire, in the name of Jesus.
6. Holy Spirit of God, renew my mind in the fulness of Your word, in the name of Jesus.
7. Holy Spirit, take over my thoughts, in the name of Jesus.

Open Heavens 4 May 2018 Friday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye – When You Need Revival

Topic: When You Need Revival [Open Heavens 4th May 2018, Friday]

Memorise: Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? – Psalm 85:6

Read: Judges 6:1-6 (KJV)

1 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years.

2 And the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel: and because of the Midianites the children of Israel made them the dens which are in the mountains, and caves, and strong holds.

3 And so it was, when Israel had sown, that the Midianites came up, and the Amalekites, and the children of the east, even they came up against them;

4 And they encamped against them, and destroyed the increase of the earth, till thou come unto Gaza, and left no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep, nor ox, nor ass.

5 For they came up with their cattle and their tents, and they came as grasshoppers for multitude; for both they and their camels were without number: and they entered into the land to destroy it.

6 And Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites; and the children of Israel cried unto the LORD.

Bible in One Year: 1 Samuel 14, Hebrew 11:4-22

MESSAGE:

From God’s perspective, revival is a state of restoration of spiritual interest which has suffered setback or has been abandoned by God’s people. It connotes renewal of the return to original status from a state of coma or disuse. Based on the use of this term, in some portions of Scripture, it is evident that it also means to literally bring back to life from the dead (1 Kings 17:22, 2 Kings 13:21). I therefore, speak the word of authority to everything that is in a state of coma, and everything that is partially or completely dead in your life: receive complete revival by the power of resurrection in Jesus’ Name. In Revelation chapter 2 and 3, the description of the spiritual state of most of the seven churches in Asia is indicative of spiritual conditions that call for revival. May the Good Lord heal and completely revive everyone reading this that may be in a backslidden state in Jesus’ Name.

The backsliding of a Christian does not just happen in one day. Rather, it is a gradual process that involves progressive character erosion. The end result is what people see, and then they begin to ask, when this fellow become like this? This will not be your story in Jesus’ Name. For that not to be your story, you need to be familiar with and sensitive to the conditions and circumstances that call for revival, in order to kick-start one whenever necessary. There are many overt signs that make revival necessary in a person’s life. A child of God needs revival whenever he or she begins to experience spiritual dryness, as we see in the life of Samson in Judges 16:20-21. When a child of God can no longer recognize the presence or absence of God in his or her life, this is indicative of spiritual dryness. Whenever a child of God finds himself or herself in physical or spiritual servitude, as it happened to the Israelites in Judges 3:12-14, it is time for revival. When sinful acts and wickedness such as those recorded in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 becomes part of the daily lifestyle of a Christian, he or she urgently needs revival. Whenever you discover that you have lost your peace, joy, divine provision, just as it happened to the Israelites in today’s Bible reading, revival is needed. Also, whenever a child of God falls into a state of self-double or uncertainty and he or she begins to feel insecure, as seen in numbers 13:26-33, this is an obvious sign that revival is needed. Revival is always preceded by sober reflection and a repentant heart, followed by earnest prayers to God for revival. Do you need revival today? Reach out to God, and he will send His fresh fire into your heart.

Prayer Point: Father, please revive a desire for righteousness and heal every form of regression in Your Church today in Jesus’ Name.

Hymn 3: What Can Wash Away My Sins?

1. What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Chorus:
Oh! precious is the flow
That makes me white as snow;
No other fount I know,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

2. For my cleansing this I see,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
For my pardon this my plea,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

3. Nothing can for sin erase
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
Naught of works, ‘tis all of grace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

4. This is all my hope and peace,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus;
This is all my righteousness,
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Over 300 Dead Newborn Girls Found Dumped in Garbage Piles in Pakistan as Families Prefer Boys

Bodies of more than 300 newborn girls have been found in Pakistan’s most populous city, Karachi, over the last year, as families prefer boys over girls, according to a report.

Between January 2017 and April 2018, nonprofit groups Edhi Foundation and Chhipa Welfare Association have found 345 bodies of new born babies in garbage dumps in Karachi alone, and 99 percent of them were girls, according to The News International.

In many South Asian countries, including Pakistan and India, families do not want girls to be born. Girls are culturally seen as “someone else’s property,” as traditionally a woman leaves her home and moves into her husband’s home after marriage. The bride’s parents also have to pay a huge sum of money as “dowry” to the groom’s family to look after their daughter.

Anwar Kazmi, a senior manager at Edhi Foundation, told the newspaper that a baby was found at the doorstep of a mosque, and people handed her over to a cleric, who ordered that the girl be stoned to death because it was “an illegitimate baby.”

“I tried to register a case against the cleric but nothing happened,” Kazmi complained.

In another case, the body of a newborn baby was found with her throat slit with a sharp knife.

“We have been dealing with such cases for years and there are a few such incidents which shook our souls as much. It left us wondering whether our society is heading back to the primitive age,” Kazmi added.

Archaeologists Discover Building Linked to King David Near Jerusalem, Excavations Align With Bible Events

Archaeologists in Israel said they discovered a building below the hills of Hebron near Jerusalem that is linked to King David of the Old Testament, with excavations alluding to events described in the Bible.

According to Breaking Israel News, the dig was led by Professor Avraham Faust of Bar-Ilan University. Researchers identified the remains of the lost city as Eglon, which is mentioned in Joshua 15:39 in the Bible as one of the cities that fought against the Israelites as part of the five Amorite kings coalition.

Faust explained that the dig was aided by burrowing mole rats, which brought earth to the surface, offering initial clues as to what is buried underneath. Radiocarbon dating has since confirmed that the Eglon ruins date back to around 1,000 B.C., which aligns with the period of King David’s time.

The archaeological dig director pointed out that some researchers had placed doubt on the historical existence of David for the past 25 years, including the size of his kingdom. He reflected that the latest discovery provides new insight into the biblical figure, however, and that it follows “part of the events in the Bible ascribed to the Kingdom of David.”

Faust clarified that although no artifacts bearing the actual name of King David have been discovered, the researchers did find “signs of a social transformation in the region which are consistent with a change from Canaanite culture to a Judean culture.”

“Hundreds of artifacts were unearthed within the debris, including a wide range of pottery vessels, loom weights, many metal objects, botanical remains, as…

Trump Issues Statement on National Day of Prayer: ‘Let Us Come Together to Thank God’

Trump Issues Statement on National Day of Prayer: ‘Let Us Come Together to Thank God’

Today, on the National Day of Prayer, President Trump issued a proclamation noting the importance of prayer and its sustaining power in times of “peace, prosperity, war, and depression.”

“On this National Day of Prayer, we join together to offer gratitude for our many blessings and to acknowledge our need for divine wisdom, guidance, and protection,” begins the statement issued by the President, as reported by CBN News.  “Prayer, by which we affirm our dependence on God, has long been fundamental to our pursuit of freedom, peace, unity, and prosperity.  Prayer sustains us and brings us comfort, hope, peace, and strength.  Therefore, we must cherish our spiritual foundation and uphold our legacy of faith.”

The President also noted prayer’s role in America’s founding and its central focus in the early days of the new nation:

“Prayer has been a source of guidance, strength, and wisdom since the founding of our Republic.  When the Continental Congress gathered in Philadelphia to contemplate freedom from Great Britain, the delegates prayed daily for guidance…Notably, as one of its first acts, our newly formed Congress appointed chaplains of the House of Representatives and Senate so that all proceedings would begin with prayer.”

The statement concluded, urging Americans to thank God for his blessings:

“May our Nation and our…

Ancient Secret Church Discovered Under ISIS-Occupied City in Syria

An ancient church that’s believed to have operated in secret has been discovered in Manbij, Syria, along with artifacts from the first centuries of Christianity’s existence and human remains.

For more than two years Manbij was occupied by the Islamic State terror group before it was liberated in 2016.

Abdulwahab Sheko, head of the Exploration Committee at the Ruins Council in Manbij, said in a Fox News report on Tuesday that the discoveries include the ruins of what appears to have been an ancient Christian church, including various crosses carved into the surviving columns and walls.

The church had been structured in such a way to allow people to flee through passages should they have been discovered.

The ruins include narrow tunnels, grooved shelves for light, a myriad of escape routes, hidden doors, and three jagged steps leading to what was once an altar.

Archaeologists believe the Christians were likely hiding from the Roman Empire, which had outlawed the religion in the early stages of its existence.
