Kenneth & Gloria Copeland Devotional 26 April 2018 – Press On in Patience

Topic: Press On in Patience [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Thursday April 26, 2018]

…Be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.Hebrews 6:12

You’ve been walking by faith. You’ve been believing God to meet your need. But what do you do when the results seem slow in coming and you are tempted to give up?

Be patient!

There is not much said about patience these days. But, when it comes to receiving from God, it is just as important as faith.

It will make the difference between success and failure for you.

Patience undergirds and sustains faith until the result is manifest. After you have meditated on the promises of God and have them in your spirit, patience will encourage you to hold steady. Patience is power. It has the courage to refuse the lie of Satan that says the Word is not working for you. It knows that God’s Word has never failed. Patience will not draw back in fear but will press forward in faith until you have the answer.

When the results of your faith seem slow in coming, don’t give up! Continue to put the Word first, with patience, and you will surely receive the promise of God!

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 10:32-39

US Commission on International Religious Freedom Reports That Persecution Continues to Grow

While egregious acts of religious persecution are more likely to cause global protest 20 years after the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998, many countries are increasingly denying such freedoms, a federal watchdog commission reported today (April 25).

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) noted the dichotomy in releasing its 2018 Annual Report on 2017 religious freedom violations in 28 countries.

“Sadly, religious freedom conditions deteriorated in many countries in 2017, often due to increasing authoritarianism or under the guise of countering terrorism,” USCIRF Chairman Daniel Mark said in releasing the report.

“Yet there is also reason for optimism 20 years after the passage of the International Religious Freedom Act,” Mark said. “The importance of this foundational right is appreciated more now than ever, and egregious violations are less likely to go unnoticed.”

October will mark the 20th anniversary of the International Religious Freedom Act (IRFA) which has never been fully implemented, USCIRF said, but was strengthened in 2016 by the Frank R. Wolf International Religious Freedom Act (Frank Wolf Act) to address implementation concerns. USCIRF’s report encouraged the Trump administration to fully implement IRFA and related laws to speed and protect international religious freedom.

“In its second year, the Trump Administration should build on stated commitments to elevate religious freedom as a priority in our foreign policy and national security strategy by vigorously implementing IRFA, the Frank Wolf Act, and the Global…

TREM Devotional 26 April 2018 by Dr. Mike Okonkwo – This Is The Time To Live Aggressively

Topic: This Is The Time To Live Aggressively [TREM’s Devotional Thursday April 26, 2018]

“And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might”. (Deuteronomy 6:5 KJV)

Developing depth in your relationship with Christ requires consistency. You must learn to be consistent. You cannot afford to vacillate. You should be willing to give everything that God requires of you. As for me, I have purposed in my heart to surrender all to Him. I will give Him all of me. I will go far! My life, my strength, my ability, my money and everything. He owns it all! I know some husbands who discourage their wives from paying tithe. You might think you are fooling God, but let me announce to you that you are only short-changing yourself. Galatians 6:7 (KJV) says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I know some who discourage people from doing good things for the Kingdom. When a call is made and a person heeds the voice of the Holy Spirit, you say the man/woman is “showing off”. The unfortunate thing is that you don’t even understand the implications of your actions. Look around you at the happenings across the nations of the world; men’s hearts are failing them and dynasties are collapsing. The world powers have no answer to global insecurity. This is the time to live aggressively. This is the time to be totally yielded to God; it must be all of Him and none of you.

You must ensure you are building Christian values into your children because they are the ones to whom we will pass the baton. Success without a successor is a successful failure. Teach your children. If you are a pastor, teach your congregation. Get into the word of God and teach them how they will be able to live for God. Teach them how to prosper without cutting corners. Teach them how to succeed based on God’s Word. Teach them how to overcome. Teach them how to fight battles. Don’t let the enemy hinder you from teaching and raising them to the standard that God designed for them.

Andrew Wommack Devotional 26 April 2018 – Godly Sorrow Leads To Repentance

Topic: Godly Sorrow Leads To Repentance [Andrew Wommack Thursday April 26, 2018]

Mark 6:12, “And they went out, and preached that men should repent.”

Text: Mark 6:7-12

“Repent” comes from the Greek word, “metanoeo,” and literally means to have another mind. Repentance is a necessary part of salvation. Repentance may include Godly sorrow, but sorrow does not always include repentance.

Repentance is simply a change of mind accompanied by corresponding actions. There is a Godly type of sorrow and an ungodly type of sorrow. Godly sorrow leads to repentance. Ungodly sorrow, or the sorrow of this world, just kills.

Our culture has rejected all “negative” emotions. But God gave us the capacity for these negative emotions, and there is a proper use of them. Ecclesiastes 7:3 says, “Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.” People should feel bad about sin. There should be sorrow over our failures. However, this sorrow should lead to repentance. Then, when forgiveness is received, our sorrow should be cast upon the Lord (Isa. 53:4).

The Lord’s statements to His disciples, the night before His crucifixion, caused them sorrow (Mt. 26:21-22; Jn. 16:6). If they would have let that sorrow lead them to repentance, then they wouldn’t have denied the Lord. Peter’s sorrow after his denial of Jesus changed him and, certainly, he never regretted the tears he cried.

The sorrow experienced by those who do not turn to God produces only death. They grieve over their situation because they don’t turn to God (that’s repentance). Christians should only have sorrow until they repent. Once repentance has come, we need to appropriate the forgiveness and cleansing that are already ours through Christ. Godly sorrow that produces repentance leaves us with no regrets. The positive change that our sorrows led us to, changes our attitude towards the things that caused us sorrow. Let the negatives in your life become positives through Jesus.

Billy Graham Devotional 26 April 2018 – The Miracle of Life

Topic: The Miracle of Life [Billy Graham’s Devotional Thursday April 26, 2018]

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard. — Psalm 19:1–3

There is a language in nature that speaks of the existence of God. It is the language of order, beauty, perfection, and intelligence. Some time ago a scientist told me that when he gave serious thought to the majestic order of the universe and its obedience to unchanging law, he could not help but believe in God. He had become aware that God was speaking through nature.

God speaks in the certainty and regularity of the seasons; in the precision of the movements of the sun, the moon, and the stars; in the regular coming of night and day; in the balance between man’s consumption of life-giving oxygen and its production by the plant life of the earth; and even in the cry of a newborn child with its ever-new dimension of the miracle of life.

Prayer for the day: The beauty of this day will be a constant reminder of the magnificence of You, God.

Teens Open Heavens 26 April 2018 – Fear Of Man

Topic: Fear Of Man [Teens Open Heavens 26, April 2018]

Memorise: The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe. Proverbs 29:25

Read: Luke 12:4-7 (KJV)

4 And again he sent unto them another servant; and at him they cast stones, and wounded him in the head, and sent him away shamefully handled.

5 And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; beating some, and killing some.

6 Having yet therefore one son, his wellbeloved, he sent him also last unto them, saying, They will reverence my son.

7 But those husbandmen said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be ours.

Bible In One Year: 2 Samuel 15-16, Luke 20:27-47

MESSAGE:

No man is big enough to be feared. Respect and reverence for others, especially people of authority is important, but fear should be discouraged. The fear of man will make you offend God when you have to choose between obeying God and that man. The only reason man will try to instill fear into you is so as to control you; and when a man is controlling you, it means God has no influence over you.

If your friends are luring you into sin, be bold to tell them NO. If an elder is asking you to lie, be bold to tell them NO. If someone, even an older person is trying to touch you in private areas of your body, be bold, tell the person NO, and report them to your parents. Do not fear any human being. The fear of man will only lead you into a terrible trap and when you get hurt, the man might not even be capable of helping you. The only authentic person to fear is GOD.

Key Point: The fear of God is the highest form of wisdom any human being can possess!

Hymn 11
1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner,
It must not suffer loss.
From victory unto victory
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
The solemn watchword hear;
If while ye sleep he suffers,
Away with shame and fear.
Where’re ye meet with evil,
Within you or without,
Charge for the God of battles,
And put the foe to rout.

3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus !
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armour,
Each piece put on with prayer;
When duty calls or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song.
To him that overcometh
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.

North Korea’s Nuclear Test Site Has Collapsed

North Korea’s mountain nuclear test site has collapsed, putting China and other nearby nations at unprecedented risk of radioactive exposure, two separate groups of Chinese scientists studying the issue have confirmed.

The collapse after five nuclear blasts may be why North Korean leader Kim Jong-un declared on Friday that he would freeze the hermit state’s nuclear and missile testsand shut down the site, one researcher said.

The last five of Pyongyang’s six nuclear tests have all been carried out under Mount Mantap at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site in North Korea’s northwest.

One group of researchers found that the most recent blast tore open a hole in the mountain, which then collapsed upon itself. A second group concluded that the breakdown created a “chimney” that could allow radioactive fallout from the blast zone below to rise into the air.

A research team led by Wen Lianxing, a geologist with the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, concluded that the collapse occurred following the detonation last autumn of North Korea’s most powerful thermal nuclear warhead in a tunnel about 700 metres (2,296 feet) below the mountain’s peak.

The test turned the mountain into fragile fragments, the researchers found.

The mountain’s collapse, and the prospect of radioactive exposure in the aftermath, confirms a series of exclusive reports by the South China Morning Post on China’s fears that Pyongyang’s latest nuclear test had caused a fallout leak.

Radioactive dust could escape through holes or cracks in the damaged mountain, the scientists…

DCLM Daily Manna 26 April, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – Iced!

Topic: Iced! [DCLM Daily Manna Thursday April 26, 2018]

Text: Mark 12:35-44 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury” (Mark 12:42,43).

MESSAGE:

In recent times, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet have been at the head of an unusual campaign. They rank among the richest people in the world pushing to get the world’s super-rich to donate a good part of their wealth to tackle social, political and economic challenges in the world. They have given and are committed to giving more in support of some worthy projects around the world. Commendably, over 40 billionaires and multi-billionaires have joined this mega-giving wagon. The big givers’ details can be found in the World’s Top Givers list which is reviewed annually.

Were such list to have been compiled when Christ was on earth, this widow’s name would not have been captured. As offerings were being cast into the treasury, the rich gave out of the abundance and perhaps prided themselves as the best givers in the fellowship. But Christ noticed this poor widow throw in just two mites and yet adjudged her the best giver.

Jesus did not judge the greatness of her gift by the value but rather by the sincerity, sacrifice and heart of gratitude that went with it. Others gave out of their surplus, while she did out of her poverty mixed with faith, as she gave all her living. We can therefore say certainly that in addition to the commendation she got from the Lord, she definitely did not die of hunger afterwards.

God is interested in our giving, no matter how small, especially for the furtherance of the gospel. What matters is not how much you give, but how much you keep. Do you keep so much to yourself and give only ‘a peanut’ to your Maker? The Lord still observes the motive and attitude of our giving today. How much do you really give in proportion to your God-given wealth?

Thought For The Day: God measures the quality of our giving by how much we keep back.

Seeds of Destiny 26 April 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: The Tragedy Of Forgetting Your Source

Topic: The Tragedy Of Forgetting Your Source [Seeds of Destiny Thursday April 26, 2018]

Scripture: But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. Deuteronomy 8:18.

Thought For The Day: When you forget your Source, you forgo your success; when you forget your Source, you forgo your resources.

The Scripture makes it clear that God is the Source of all things; He is the true Source of supernatural supplies. It is important to know that it is not possible to have anything or to be anything in life without the Help of God (John 3:35).

However, one of the tragedies of life is forgetting God, who is the Source of all things. Now, there are many people who are not where you are today; And it is not because you did something special. This is why the fastest runner does not win the race at times, people with strength lose battles many times; they are highly learned personalities who are paupers, a person can be talented, still be tormented or stagnated; the truth is, what makes you what you are is being at the right place and at the right time which is the product of God’s Favour and Mercy (Ecclesiastes 9:11).

Now, what does it mean to forget your Source?
It is acting as if your strength, wisdom and ability brought you your success and resources. When we behave as if what we have is a product of our sweat and intelligence, we begin to forget our Source. Now, no one can sleep and wake up without the Help of God (Psalm 2:5). There many people who slept last night but could not wake up today.

Beloved, when you forget your Source, you forgo your success; when you forget your Source, you forgo your resources.

My counsel is, don’t ever beat your chest and say that it is your intelligence, energy, talent, connection and contact that brought you to where you are; look unto God alone as the Source of all things.

Remember this: When you forget your Source, you forgo your success; when you forget your Source, you forgo your resources.

Assignments:
1. Look away from your intelligence, connection, contacts and talents as the sources of your success in life.
2. Focus your mind and look unto God alone as your Source.

Prayer: O Lord, I refuse to look at my intelligence and connections as the reasons for my success in life. I receive the grace to look unto You only as the Source of my Success, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

ConocoPhillips Wins $2 Billion Arbitration Against Venezuela

ConocoPhillips said Wednesday that it won a $2 billion arbitration award against Venezuela’s state oil company, compounding the financial woes of the socialist-run nation as it struggles to feed its population.

The award represents the equivalent of more than 20 percent of the cash-strapped government’s foreign currency reserves.

The Houston-based company said in a statement that the ruling against PDVSA by an International Chamber of Commerce panel was final and binding.

“ConocoPhillips will pursue enforcement and seek financial recovery of its award to the full extent of the law,” the company said in a statement.

But collecting the judgment won’t be easy, as President Nicolas Maduro is holding on to the few dollars trickling into the country from plummeting oil production and amid sanctions by the Trump administration barring U.S investors from lending money to the government.

There was no immediate comment from Venezuela’s government.

The ruling arose from the expropriation of ConocoPhillips’ investments in two heavy crude oil projects in 2007 at a time then President Hugo Chavez increased the state’s take of record oil rents, forcing foreign oil companies to accept less generous terms. Many instead left the country and sued to hold up their original contracts.

ConocoPhillips is pursuing separate legal action against Venezuela’s government under the auspices of the World Bank’s investment dispute mechanism. The World Bank tribunal has already ruled that Venezuela broke international law when it nationalized Conoco’s stakes in the two fields. Proceedings are…
