Billy Graham’s Devotional 14 April 2018 – The Return of the Lord

Topic: The Return of the Lord [Billy Graham’s Devotional Saturday April 14, 2018]

Our homeland is in heaven, where our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ is; and we are looking forward to his return . . .Philippians 3:20 (TLB)

The Scriptures indicate that we are living in man’s day. But there is coming a day that will be called the Day of the Lord. In the midst of hopelessness, there is hope! And that hope is centered in the God-man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Now the will of man runs riot in the earth. Then the will of the Lord will alone be done. Until that time, we are under orders from the King of kings to proclaim His message. When we engage in evangelism, we are obeying His great command to “go and proclaim.” In doing so, we are hastening the day of His return.

Prayer for the day: As I live in the hope of Your return, give me the wisdom and love to reach those around me.

Kenneth & Gloria Copeland’s Devotional 14 April 2018 – Use God’s Mo

Topic: Use God’s MO [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Saturday April 14, 2018]

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. – Hebrews 11:3

God uses words to create. He used His Word to “frame” the worlds. Just look in the first chapter of Genesis and count how many times you see the phrase, “And God said.” “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light…. And God said, Let there be a firmament…. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together…. And God said, Let the earth bring forth…” (verses 3, 6, 9, 11).

God doesn’t do anything without saying it first. That’s His MO, His mode of operation. And, if you’re smart, you’ll use that mode of operation too. You’ll take His words and speak them out until they take on form and substance and become a reality in your life.

“Well, Brother Copeland, I tried that and it didn’t work. I said, ‘By His stripes I’m healed’ four times and nothing happened.”

Big deal. God started saying that Jesus was coming in the Garden of Eden. He said it again in Exodus. He said it again in Numbers and Deuteronomy. He said it in Isaiah and the other prophets. He said it all through the Old Testament, over and over again.

Then after about 4,000 years, the book of John tells us, “The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us…” (1:14).

So if you’ve said you’re healed four times and nothing’s happened, don’t worry about it. Just keep saying it! You might think it’s taking a long time to manifest, but I’ll guarantee you, it won’t take 7,000 years.

Do you want to operate in God’s power? Then use His MO. Speak out His words and let them frame a life full of blessing for you!

Scripture Reading: Genesis 1

Topic: You Are An Asset [Teens’ Open Heavens 14, April 2018]

Memorise: But Jesus said, suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of Heaven. – Matthew 19:14

Read: Matthew 19:13-15 (KJV)

13 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them.

14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

15 And he laid his hands on them, and departed thence.

Bible In One Year: 1 Samuel 15-16, Luke 14:25-35

MESSAGE:

In God’s kingdom, the people who the world calls ‘rejects’ and useless are usually the very useful ones. God uses those of low status – housemaids, houseboys, cleaners, drivers, et cetera for His glory. Furthermore, God has no age limits regarding those He uses. He uses young people; you are not too young to be used by God. Samuel was still a child when God began to speak with him. He was more or less a baby priest. God is glorified with the obedience of little children. No wonder when the disciples tried to stop the children from coming to Jesus, he rebuked the disciples.

Moreover, do you know that as a young adult, you are capable of offering the most sincere and qualitative praise to God? God loves to hear children praise Him. As a heritage of the Lord, God can because of you answer the prayers of your parents, which makes you an asset to them. When you pray to God, it is easier for you to communicate directly with God than your parents. With this knowledge, always pray for yourself, and your family, because God will answer you faster.

Key Point: Jesus loves children, never stay away from Him

MFM Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Saturday, 14 April 2018 – Where Have You Laid Him?

TOPIC: Where Have You Laid Him? (Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries Saturday, 14 April 2018)

FIRE SCRIPTURE: John 11:33-35

MEMORY VERSE:
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.” – John 11:43

The MESSAGE:

Jesus used questions to teach us vital spiritual truths. Jesus never asked a question because He did not know the answer but because He wanted to emphasise certain spiritual truths. Afterall He is omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent. In a village called Bethany, Jesus had a dear relationship with a family of three, Mary, Martha and Lazarus. It was in this family that Lazarus, one of the family members, died. Jesus was sent for while he was sick but got to Bethany after after Lazarus had died for four days. When Jesus saw all the people weeping, He was also moved in the spirit and wept. Afterwards, Jesus asked where Lazarus, the man who had been dead for four days, was laid.

Jesus asked this question, ‘Where have you laid him’ to mean show me;
1. Where you gave up.
2. Where you stopped believing.
3. The point at which you stopped believing in miracle.
4. The point at which you stopped expecting a change.
5. The point at which all hope and faith were lost.
6. The point at which you all agreed this is far beyond solution.
7. Your great disappointment, despair, grief and regrets.

Are you reading this devotional this morning and your case is as described above? Jesus is asking you, “Where did you lay your own Lazarus?” Have you given up on that situation? Now, Jesus is visiting you because of the relationship you have with Him. If you will hand your case over to Jesus, He will order the tombstone to be rolled away and will call out your Lazarus to come forth from the tomb. Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus come forth,” And Lazarus, who was dead for four days, came forth. No situation is above Jesus, nothing is impossible with Him. You are coming out of the ugly situation, in Jesus’ name. Your storyline is changed for glory, in Jesus’ name.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE:
No creature is great enough to swallow its creator.

PROPHETIC WORD:
You shall sing your own song and dance your own dance.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. I lay my burden, plans and worries at the foot of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.
2. I invite the king of kings to take over my life situation, in the name of Jesus.
3. Lord Jesus, have mercy on me, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for loving me, in Jesus’ name.
5. My Lazarus, come forth, in Jesus’ name.
6. My life is not for sale, therefore, devil release me, in the name of Jesus.
7. The resurrection power of Jesus Christ, fall upon me, in Jesus’ name.

Seeds of Destiny 14 April 2018 by Pastor Paul Enenche: Destroying The Lifestyle Of Greed

Topic: Destroying The Lifestyle Of Greed [Seeds of Destiny Saturday April 14, 2018]

Scripture: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

Thought For The Day: Money is a wonderful servant but a terrible task master.

Previously, we established that the love of money (greed or covetousness) is a deadly enemy of destiny. We also noted that, (a) evil is rooted in the love of money; (b) the love of money is a killer of both the love of God and the conscience; (c) Money can be a wonderful servant but a terrible task master.

Having known the consequences of the love of money, it is important to study the therapy for the love of money in order not to be entrapped by it.

Now, what are the therapies for the love of money? How do we treat the love of money?

i) Ask God to kill the love of money
One of the things God did for me early in life is the ability to despise money as if it does not exist. When God kills the love of money in your life, you can tell anyone the truth no matter how much he or she has. You can see money and look away. God can do it for you if you can ask Him.

ii) Embrace the lifestyle of generosity
Embrace the giver’s lifestyle. Nothing destroys greed like giving to God and man. All the people who love money with passion want to keep all money for themselves, but people who have killed the love of money always give it out as much as is necessary. The lifestyle of giving neutralizes the craving to keep.

iii) Give God the first place in your financial life
Honour the Lord with your substance (Proverbs 3:9). When God gives you money, think about Him and His kingdom first before spending or investing the rest on yourself; that process kills the power of money.

As you practice the things outlined above, the grip of money over your life will be destroyed, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Money can be a wonderful servant but a terrible task master.

Assignments:
1. Ask God to kill the love of money in your life.
2. Embrace the lifestyle of generosity.
3. Decide to give God the first place in your financial life.

Prayer: O Lord, help me to give You the first place in my financial life. I ask for the grace to embrace the lifestyle of generosity, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DCLM Daily Manna 14 April, 2018 by Pastor Kumuyi – All-Round Safety

Topic: All-Round Safety [DCLM Daily Manna Saturday April 14, 2018]

Text: Nehemiah 4:7-23 (KJV)

Key Verse: “In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us” (Nehemiah 4:20).

MESSAGE:

The story is told of a mother and her four year old daughter who were preparing to retire to bed at night but were afraid of what might happen during the night. As the lights were turned off, the child caught a glimpse of the moon outside the window. “Mother,” she asked, “is the moon God’s light?” “Yes,” said the mother. She continued, “Will God put out His light and go to sleep?” The mother replied, “No my child, God never goes to sleep.” Then out of the simplicity of a child’s faith, she said something that revived the mother’s faith and reassured her of God’s abiding protection. “Well, as long as God is awake, there is no need for any of us to stay awake.” Sanballat and Tobiah were not happy that the broken walls of Jerusalem were being rebuilt; hence, they attempted to stop the work using fear, threats and arms. Nehemiah encouraged the people to trust the Lord to fight for them. God proved Himself and the counsels of the enemies were brought to nought.

Storms come to life through wrong association, wrong counsel and evil sowing. These storms come in the form of persecutions, sickness, barrenness, delay in marriage, etc. You must be a person of purpose to go through the storms of life.

Believers should take solace in the assurance of: His Presence with us (Acts 27:23); His Possession of us (1 Peter 2:9); His Programme for us (John 12:24-26); His Purpose for us (Acts 23:11; 16:25); His Protection for us (Acts 16:25,26); His Promise to us (Acts 27:24b; Hebrews 10:23); and His Power over us (Acts 27:25; Isaiah 63:9). To enjoy all-round safety, come to Jesus, confess your sins and accept Him as Lord and Saviour.

Thought For The Day: In Christ alone dwells the fullness of grace and glory.

United States, France, & Britain Launch Military Strikes in Syria in Response to Suspected Chemical Attack

The United States, France and Britain together launched military strikes in Syria to punish President Bashar Assad for a suspected chemical attack against civilians and to deter him from doing it again, President Donald Trump announced Friday. Explosions lit up the skies over Damascus, the Syrian capital, as Trump announced the airstrikes from the White House.

Syrian television reported that Syrian air defenses have responded to the attack.

Trump said the U.S. is prepared to “sustain” pressure on Assad until he ends what the president called a criminal pattern of killing his own people with internationally banned chemical weapons. It was not immediately clear whether Trump meant the allied military operation would extend beyond an initial nighttime round of missile strikes.

Trump did not provide details on the joint U.S.-British-French attack, but it was expected to include barrages of cruise missiles launched from outside Syrian airspace. He described the main aim as establishing “a strong deterrent” against chemical weapons use. The Syrian government has repeatedly denied any use of banned weapons.

The decision to strike, after days of deliberations, marked Trump’s second order to attack Syria; he authorized a barrage of Tomahawk cruise missiles to hit a single Syrian airfield in April 2017 in retaliation for Assad’s use of sarin gas against civilians.

US Defense Secretary James Mattis testified Thursday that the role of the US in Syria is to defeat Islamic State militants, not get involved in that country’s civil war. (April 12)

Trump chastised Syria’s two…

1,000 Bodies of Militant Fighters Buried in Mosul Mass Grave

Authorities in Mosul have buried more than 1,000 bodies in a mass grave in a desert valley outside the city, most of them believed to be Islamic State group militants, according to a provincial official. More remains are being dug out of the rubble of the district where the fighters made their final stand last year.

Hundreds more bodies are still strewn across or buried in Maydan district nine months after it was flattened in the final battles to retake Mosul, creating one of the grimmest scenes from a brutal war that was compared to the worst urban combat of World War II.

During a recent visit by The Associated Press, pieces of desiccated bodies, often in shreds of fighters’ uniforms, were visible scattered in the ruins, which are also laced with unexploded bombs and unused suicide belts. In one place, the crown of a skull stuck out of the dirt, brilliant white with a fringe of leathery scalp and hair. One man lay crushed under the wreck of a car, his legs sticking up in the air.

Most of the bodies appeared to belong to IS fighters killed by airstrikes or shelling, their remains half-buried. But there were also women and small children. The body of baby girl, turned ghoulish brown, lay on the balcony of a half-collapsed building, covered by bits of rubble.

The scene is testimony to Iraqi authorities’ lack of resources and the overwhelming task they face in just digging out from the destruction wreaked across Mosul in the 9-month offensive by Iraqi forces backed by the U.S.-led coalition that finally defeated IS here. Multiple neighborhoods suffered heavy damage. Clearing of…

Open Heavens 14th April 2018 Saturday — The Lord Needs It!

Topic: The Lord Needs It! [Open Heavens 14 April 2018, Saturday]

Memorise: “And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.” – Luke 19:31

Read: Luke 19:29-35 (KJV)

29 And it came to pass, when he was come nigh to Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount called the mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,

30 Saying, Go ye into the village over against you; in the which at your entering ye shall find a colt tied, whereon yet never man sat: loose him, and bring him hither.

31 And if any man ask you, Why do ye loose him? thus shall ye say unto him, Because the Lord hath need of him.

32 And they that were sent went their way, and found even as he had said unto them.

33 And as they were loosing the colt, the owners thereof said unto them, Why loose ye the colt?

34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.

35 And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.

Bible in One Year: Joshua 23-24, 1 Timothy 2-3.

MESSAGE:

A salient truth that everyone, particularly children of God, should not be ignorant of is that God created everything for a purpose. This is why we call the almighty God the God of plan and purpose. For example, in Genesis 1:26, when man was to be created, God first declared his purpose before creating him, saying:

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”

God will not create what He does not need. Whatever you find on earth has a reason for existing. Not knowing the usefulness of an entity in God’s creation does not negate the reason why God created it. It is just unfortunate that more often than not, we abuse, misuse or completely neglect the use of many things created for one divine purpose or the other. In today’s Bible reading, even the owner of the donkey did not know the eternal purpose God had for his donkey until the Lord’s message got to him, asking him to release it to fulfill the prophecy concerning it (Zechariah 9:9). This donkey looked ordinary to its owner, but to its Maker it was a unique donkey. You therefore, need to look at things through the eyes of the Creator to understand their purpose.

Many years ago, I told some ministers who had just answered the divine call into full-time ministry that whatever skills they had acquired should be kept because such skills would be needed in the running of the church. These days, there is a tendency for an architect to drop his or her skill set when going into ministry. Such people fail to realize that the Church needs architects to design her buildings. Who would do a better job of this than a Spirit-filled architect? In Exodus 36:1-2, God purposely raised Bezaleel and Aholiab for the purpose of the building of His tabernacle. Indeed every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of lights (James 1:17).

Beloved, the Lord needs that skill, that gift, that money and that position you have. I appeal to you to use your talents primarily for God and secondarily as your meal ticket. May the Lord bless you as you bless Him with your divine endowments in Jesus’ Name.

Prayer Point: Father, please open my eyes to see the divine purpose for existence. Grant me grace to use the gifts, skills, position and wealth you have endowed me with for Your glory and pleasure.

Hymn 12: Take My Life, And Let It Be.

1. Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee.
Take my moments and my days,
Let them flow in endless praise.

2. Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

3. Take my voice and let me sing,
Always, only for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.

4. Take my silver and my gold,
Not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
Every power as Thou shalt choose.

5. Take my will and make it Thine,
It shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
It shall be Thy royal throne.

6. Take my love, my Lord, I pour
At Thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself and I will be
Ever, only, all for Thee.

UK Scraps Proposal to Regulate Sunday Schools And Other Religious Education Institutions

The United Kingdom government is no longer considering a plan to monitor church Sunday schools and other religious education institutions through its Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills.

This month, the Department for Education released the results of its call for evidence for plans to implement certain regulations for “out-of-school education settings” to safeguard children from the risk of extremism.

The call for evidence was active from November 2015 to January 2016 and sought responses to key proposals that included forcing Sunday Schools and other out-of-school education settings that operate six to eight hours a week to, among other things, allow a “body to inspect settings to ensure that children are being properly safeguarded.”

Additionally, the proposal would have subjected religious organizations that run those institutions to “sanctions” when “settings are failing to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, which could include barring individuals from working with children and the closure of premises.”

“[W]e have decided not to pursue the model proposed in our call for evidence but instead intend to develop further the evidence base for a national approach, including future legislation where gaps in existing powers are identified,” a government report states.

The decision was praised by religious organizations as an “important step to protect religious freedom.”
