Topic: Joy In The Morning [DCLM Daily Manna Sunday April 1, 2018]

Text: John 16:16-24 (KJV)

Key Verse: “And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you” (John 16:22).

MESSAGE:

Pain sometimes offer proceeds of joy. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy will definitely come in the morning.

Jesus Christ referred to His death, which was only a few hours away and His resurrection which was to follow His death when He said to His disciples “a little while and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while and ye shall see me”. Although Jesus had often told them about this matter in plain terms that he would be killed and would rise again the third day, yet the disciples remain confused. The world would rejoice because they hoped they had conquered Him. It was expedient for Jesus to part a while with His disciples through the painful and shameful death on the cross, in order to open the floodgate of temporary and eternal joy to them and all humanity through His resurrection.

To all believers, the death and resurrection of Christ bring joy, succour and hope of eternal life with Him. Therefore, no matter what pains, affliction, persecutions or sorrows may come our way, we must remain focused and steadfast in following and serving the Lord because the perils and deprivations we suffer will not last long. Earthly joys will wane but the joy which Christ offers His victorious servants is everlasting. Let us keep this hope alive by faithfully serving the Lord till the very end.

Christ’s resurrection assures us of our future glorious resurrection to life. It gives us hope of reunion with out loved ones who died in the Lord, that the grave will have no power over them. Christ arose; we now live by His power of resurrection. This power can quicken you from spiritual deadness as a sinner or slumber as a backslider to life in Christ when you truly repent of your sins. It can revive our spirits and quicken our mortal bodies to vitality as believers. So, rejoice and appropriate His power of resurrection for victorious living today.

MESSAGE:

All around the world, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is being celebrated in this season. Jesus’ genuine love for us gives great significance to the season. He is truly a friend indeed.

As teenagers, you are quick to call one person or the other your best friend, but I have been on earth long enough to know that no one deserves the title ‘best friend’ except the Lord Jesus Christ.

Who can leave his palace or mighty riches to come into a dirty slum just to reach out to you? Most people will rather tell you to come and meet them where they are, that is even if they want to be associated with someone from the slum. Which son of a president can let his father’s subject beat him to a pulp and still plead for mercy from his father on behalf of his evil perpetrators? Who can die just so that you may live? Who can watch, protect and stay loyal to you even when you are unfaithful and disobedient to Him? Who else can love you like Jesus Christ does, who else can be a better friend than Jesus Christ?

Key Point: If you still commit sin once in a while, ask God to help you to live holy. Return the gesture of friendship that Jesus shows you daily

Topic: He Has All Power! [TREM’s Devotional Sunday April 1, 2018]

“And when they saw Him, they worshipped Him: but some doubted. And Jesus came and spake to them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth”. (Matthew 28:17-18 KJV)

Halleluiah, our Lord and Saviour is risen! The tomb is empty, and He is alive forevermore! Beloved on this resurrection morning, I want to draw your attention to the importance of Christ’s resurrection from the grave. Unfortunately for many, in the midst of celebrating this all-important event by feasting with family and friends, we sometimes forget what God perfected for us when He raised Jesus from the grave. Especially with the commercialization drive that has taken over the world, nothing is spared, and many times even believers get caught up in these activities, thereby failing to take stock of what the resurrection means to us.

The resurrection of Jesus from the dead is the differentiating factor for Christianity over every other religion in the world. As important as Christ’s crucifixion is, it would not have meant much if He remained in the grave. I am certain that even Christianity as a faith would have died a natural death if Christ had not resurrected. That is why the devil fought as much as he could to prevent the resurrection. But thank God, He pulled a joker on the enemy! That is why Paul said that if the princes of this world known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Cor. 2:9).

Child of God, Jesus rose from the grave completely victorious! He defeated the devil and spoiled him of all the power he stole from Adam. He then declared boldly that all power in heaven and earth has been given to Him. Do you know what? You are in Him, and also have all power! That is the beauty of Christ’s resurrection. You have been quickened with Him, and are seated far above principalities and powers. Therefore, celebrate His resurrection with an understanding of what He has done for you. You have all power!

Thought For The Day: When the enemy had done his worst, then the stage is set for God to do His best.

Today is Easter Sunday! The season of Easter is a season set aside to commemorate the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Today is of great significance as it marks the Anniversary of Christ’s Resurrection from the dead. The power of Christianity is anchored on the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Now, it is important to understand what Easter signifies; this is because when the purpose of a thing is not understood, misconceptions are unavoidable.

Now, Easter signifies that:

i) Life is stronger than death
The Resurrection of Jesus shows that life is stronger than death; light is stronger than darkness, and righteousness is stronger than wickedness.

ii) When the enemy had done his worst, then the stage is set for God to do His best
The Devil thought that he had done his worst by crucifying Jesus but God stepped in and took him by surprise through the resurrection.

iii) What is the end with man is the beginning with God
Where man ends is where God begins; God is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

iv) Nothing is too wrong to be righted by the Power of God
The worst situation on earth can be made right by the power of God.

v) God always reserves His best for the last
God does not do mega things in hurry; He does great things at unexpected times, especially at the end.

Beloved, I decree that every power of sin, sickness, weakness, poverty or failure holding you bound is neutralised today by the power of Resurrection in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: When the enemy had done his worst, then the stage is set for God to do His best.

Assignments:
1. Connect to the life of Christ that is stronger than death and decay by completely re-dedicating your life to God in this season.
2. Resist the lifestyle of sin, sickness, weakness and infirmity by the power of Resurrection of Christ.

Prayer: O LORD, thank You for the Power of Resurrection; I make demands on You for the manifestation of all the benefits of Redemption in my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: Let Your Life Shout [Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Sunday April 1, 2018]

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. – Psalm 14:1

Most of us would never dream this verse could apply to us. After all, we’re believers! We’d never say that there is no God.

But maybe we should think again. It’s true that with our mouths we would never say something like that…but don’t we sometimes say it with our actions?

We say it by sinning just a little here and there and thinking it won’t matter. We’ll go to an immoral movie or have a gossip session about the pastor, ignoring God’s command to the contrary.

With our actions we’re saying, “There is no God.”

Psalm 14:1 connects that kind of thing to corruption. Whether you realize it or not, the more you act that way, the more corrupt you’re going to become.

Don’t make the foolish mistake of publicly proclaiming Jesus as your Lord, and then privately denying Him one little action at a time. Use wisdom in everything you do so that both your heart and your life shout loudly, “My God reigns!”

Topic: Dance In The Storm Now! [Our Daily Manna ODM Sunday, April 1, 2018]

Basic Scriptures: Habakkuk 3:17-18; Philippians 4:4-12

I welcome you to the new quarter of DECORATION BONANZA! Someone said to me some time ago, “Bishop, when the storm is over, I shall dance.” Then came the following words from the living water of my spirit: “Don’t wait till the storm is over before you dance, dance in the storm now!”

Today first scripture says: “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of olive shall fail, and the field shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in God my salvation.”

I have discovered that before any major breakthrough in my life, I must go through a major/ severe storm that will make people think that my end has come! Before this ODM vision was born, I went through a storm for about 10 years and I bought a rope to kill myself.

It was the day I decided to commit suicide that I discovered this ODM vision! Again last year, 2017, this vision and I, went through a series of challenges in Nigeria and abroad, that opened up three new major printing press doors for ODM New York, London and South Africa.

Now we print in four locations Worldwide (Lagos, USA, South Africa and London)! What an amazing grace! I have learnt that every allowed storm is pregnant with my testimony and decoration! Therefore, any time there is a storm in my life, family and ministry, i don’t wait for the storm to cease before i dance, i start dancing even in the midst of the storm because i know the storm is carrying my decoration story. HALLELUYAH! Note: “Behind EVERY STORM IS YOUR “SOLUTION” (DECORATION) STORY!”

To the canal mind, it is foolish and stupid to dance in the storm! But the canal mind cannot understand the things of the spirit: for they are foolishness unto him, neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned (1 Corinthians 2: 14). You must dance in the storm because your God calls the things that be thought be not AS THOUGHT THEY WERE!

Wow! Imitate Him! CALL THE THINGS THAT BE NOT AS THOUGH THEY ARE! Learn new dancing steps even when delay is all you see and BATTLE are developing your space! To dance in the storm means to reject self-pity, depression and anxiety! Remember Mildred Taylor in the award winning -“Roll of thunder, Hear My Cry”: “We have no choice of what colour we’re born or who our parents are or whether we rich or poor. What we do have is some choice over what we make of our lives once we are here.”

Correct! Indeed, nobody will think you are somebody if you did not think you are somebody! That was why Paul and Silas sang/danced in the storm of prison! Oh, on this Easter Sunday, know that every CHALLENGE, like the grave of Chris, HAS EXPIRY DATE! Therefore dance now even in the storm because I SEE A MULTITUDE DANCING WITH YOU soon! Amen! NOW, LET’S GO! DANCE! This is your quarter/year! Happy Easter!

Prayer Points: Take song as led……

1. Thank God For Today’s word and pray as you are led!
2. Dance Now then pray. O Lord, i shall go through allowed storm and come out victoriously in Jesus name (Pray about any storm now).
3.Pray about this new quarter seriously for the next 3 days.

Topic: Despised for All of This [Our Daily Bread 1 Sunday April, 2018]

He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12

Susannah Cibber gained fame in the eighteenth century for her talent as a singer. However, she was equally well known for her scandalous marital problems. That’s why when Handel’s Messiah was first performed in Dublin in April 1742, many in the audience did not approve of her role as a featured soloist.

During that inaugural performance, Cibber sang of the Messiah: “He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3 kjv). Those words so moved Rev. Patrick Delany that he jumped to his feet and said, “Woman, for this be all thy sins forgiven thee!”

The connection between Susannah Cibber and the theme of Handel’s Messiah is evident. The “man of sorrows”—Jesus the Messiah—was “despised and rejected” because of sin. The prophet Isaiah said, “My righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities” (v. 11).

The connection between Messiah and us is no less apparent. Whether we stand with the judgmental audience members, with Susannah Cibber, or somewhere in between, we all need to repent and receive God’s forgiveness. Jesus, by His life, death, and resurrection, restored our relationship with God our Father.

For this—for all Jesus did—be all our sins forgiven.

Prayer: Father in heaven, we all stand in need of Your forgiveness. We stand too in awe of Your Son Jesus, who was despised and rejected for our sins. Thank You for coming to us in Jesus 2,000 years ago so that we might know You now.

Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Revelation 19:6 kjv

Topic: Singleness of Heart [Andrew Wommack Sunday April 1, 2018]

Matthew 12:35, “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

Text: Matthew 12:32-45

Our spirit is definitely a part of our heart, but as seen in 1 Peter 3:4, it is only a part. Sin, iniquity, unbelief, etc., come from the heart but not the born-again spirit. Hebrews 4:12 suggests that spirit and soul are both part of the heart; hence, the scriptures admonish us to believe with all our heart (Acts 8:37), have singleness of heart (Col. 3:22), and tell us our hearts can have two minds or ways of thinking (Jas. 4:8).

Even Christians still struggle with things like pride and foolishness which Jesus said came out of our heart. It’s certain that our born again spirit is not the source of these sins. The heart encompasses more than our spirit.

The English word “soul” comes from the Greek word “psuche,” translated “heart, life, mind, and soul.” The mind is the principle and leading part of the soul, followed by the will and emotions. We could also describe the soul as being the hidden part of all existing beings or what most people would call the personality. The soul is the center of the feelings and emotions, appetites and desires, as well as sense perception and consciousness. The soul may also speak of the totality of a person – his total being or self, a person, and the hidden man or inward man. The soul and the body do not get born again. It is the spirit of man that becomes totally new at salvation. So, although every believer receives the same miraculous spiritual rebirth, the visible results of that inward change will vary from person to person according to how much he renews his mind. The term “heart” can include all of the inner man – spirit, soul, or any portion thereof. The peace of God will keep your heart at rest in Christ Jesus. Let Him.
