The Church of England, Methodist Church, Salvation Army and the United Reformed Church and others are part of an effort to share the Gospel with others.

Moving Mountains will officially launch on Thursday with 200 different events planned through 11th March by local churches.

Local missions events include school visits, puppet making, litter picks, walks and treasure hunts, art and craft, film nights, sporting events, dementia friendly events and more.

National church leaders will attend the launch of conference along with their teams comprised of a mix of lay people, youth workers, ordinands and clergy.

Senior church leaders attending include Most Rev John Sentamu, Archbishop of York, Chair of Methodist Conference Loraine Mellor, Moderator of the (URC) General Assembly Alan Yates, Vice President of the Methodist Conference Jill Baker, and the Regional/Divisional Commander of the Salvation Army Drew McCombe.

Documents obtained by CNN provide an insight into 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz’s life in Broward County Jail where he has been since he confessed to the Valentine’s Day rampage that left 17 dead at a high school in Parkland.

In observation reports from February 17th to 24th, officials described his movements and behaviour which ranged from being “calm” and “slow” to “avoids eye contact” and “looks downward with a blank stare”.

On February 24th, a deputy noted that Cruz requested to read a Bible after another restless night.

The report goes on to say he: “(Twists) and turns in bunk, does not sleep, stares at wall in deep thought, eyes closed, appears to be resting, not asleep.”

However, his lawyer cautioned against reading too deeply into the notes.

“They are snippet observations from corrections officers and are not clinical impressions made by his treating psychologist or psychiatrist at the jail. They don’t show a complete picture,” chief assistant public defender Gordon Weekes said in a statement.

“They are generated because Mr Cruz has a high-profile case and is on suicide watch.”

The Christian parents of twelve-month-old Isaiah Haastrup (pictured above with an auntie) had fought against an application by King’s College Hospital in London to move him to palliative care.

The couple’s “last resort” appeal to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in Strasbourg, France, was dismissed on Tuesday.

Isaiah died at 7.50pm on Wednesday, hours after being removed from life-support, father Lanre Haastrup said on Facebook.

Mr Haastrup and Takesha Thomas, Isaiah’s mother, asked the ECHR to intervene after losing two legal battles in England.

A High Court judge had given doctors permission to provide only palliative care to Isaiah against the wishes of Mr Haastrup and Miss Thomas.

Mr Justice MacDonald analysed evidence at hearings in the Family Division of the High Court in January.

Specialists at King’s College Hospital in London had said providing further intensive care treatment was futile and not in Isaiah’s best interests.

Mr Haastrup and Miss Thomas, who are both in their 30s and from Peckham, south-east London, subsequently failed to persuade Court of Appeal judges to overturn Mr Justice MacDonald’s decision.

They then made a written application to the ECHR as a “last resort”, which was declared “inadmissible”.
