His adult children – all speakers or preachers in their own right – recalled being taught by their parents how to read scripture aloud and deliver sermons, but also taking quiet walks with their father and feeling his embrace even when they made mistakes.
His oldest son, Franklin Graham, who delivered the main funeral message, said all of those qualities were part of the whole.
“The Billy Graham that the world saw on television, the Billy Graham that the world saw in the big stadiums, was the same Billy Graham that we saw at home. There weren’t two Billy Grahams,” he said. “He loved his family. He stood by us. He comforted us.”
Mr Graham’s funeral message, which included a Gospel call to repentance and salvation, followed shorter remarks by his siblings in a service that lasted just over an hour before an invitation-only crowd of approximately 2,000.
“I believe, from Heaven’s perspective, that my father’s death is as significant as his life. And his life was very significant. But I think when he died, that was something very strategic from Heaven’s point of view,” said his daughter Anne Graham Lotz, later adding: “I believe God is saying: ‘Wake up church! Wake up world!'”
The congregation included President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and their wives. Neither Mr Pence nor Mr Trump spoke during the service that was streamed live online, but they met privately with the family beforehand.

An analyst says the highly-anticipated match between The Undertaker and John Cena can still happen, despite the latter’s previous announcement that it is not possible.
On this week’s Monday night “Raw,” Cena finally challenged The Phenom to a WrestleMania match, after many months of rumors that the two are facing off. However, is it too late?
“I have figured out that I need to stand in this ring and do something that I should have done a long time ago, and that is to put out a WrestleMania challenge to the Undertaker!” Cena announced in front of an excited WWE crowd. “You want WrestleMania? That IS WrestleMania!”
Yes, that is WrestleMania, it would be a legendary match indeed. But then, the 40-year-old wrestler took it back and said it is not happening. “I don’t make the matches. As obvious as this seems, I’ve been told that the match is not happening because that match, once again, is impossible.”
Why did he announce it to thousands of people and took ample amount of valuable airtime if it was impossible after all? Fans and critics are not new to this kind of stunt. This could mean that The Champ and The Phenom are facing off in WWE’s biggest night.
In the latest issue of the “The Wrestling Observer Newsletter,” Dave Meltzer wrote that the WrestleMania 34 match between Cena and Taker is still on. This despite a recent Tweet from Sports Illustrated journalist Justin Barrasso that Cena is facing off with a different legend in the name of Rey Mysterio.

Asus unveils the new Zenfone 5 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. The new unit looks a lot like an iPhone X clone, but will come at a much cheaper price.
Recent mobile releases seem to have taken a lot of the good points of the famed iPhone X, like its notch and the bezel-less design. Asus is no exception.
The Taiwanese company revealed the Zenfone 5, which sports a 6.2-inch screen that hugs the front face the unit to show less bezel. It also has a notch on top and on the rear, a vertically-aligned dual camera. All this sounds a lot like an iPhone X, only bigger and with a notably more striking rear finish.
The screen has a 19:9 ratio, longer than the standard 18:9, and thus its notch does not obscure videos when played in full screen. The phone may be still using an LCD display, when other companies like Samsung have turned OLED, and its 2246 by 1080 display is still more colorful and vibrant than expected.
Talking to reporters at the MWC, Asus representatives said the company is “adopting a broad definition of AI [artificial intelligence],” a feature that most tech giants have been mentioning a lot in recent releases.
The Zenfone 5 allegedly uses AI to automatically adjust the screen’s color temperature and a sensor that keeps the screen on when the user is looking at it.
As for the rear camera, Zenfone 5 will have a 12-megapixel sensor combined with a secondary 120-degree wide-angle lens
