A high school teacher in New Jersey has been suspended for three years after she called homosexuality a sin on her personal Facebook page.

LifeSiteNews.com reports that Jenye “Viki” Knox taught at Union High School since 2000. Knox, who is an ordained minister, was a teacher and faculty advisor for a student-led Bible study at the school. She also had been a teacher for handicapped students.

Back in 2011, Knox criticized the school’s promotion of the LGBTQ lifestyle.

“Why parade your unnatural immoral behaviors before the rest of us?” Knox posted. “Homosexuality is a perverted spirit … I know sin and it breeds like cancer.”

She also called homosexuality “unnatural immoral behavior” that is “against the Nature and Character of God.”

Knox was suspended without pay and also accused of telling school officials that homosexual teachers were “targeting young and impressionable students for indoctrination into alternative sexual lifestyles.”

“We do not have to accept anything, anyone, or any behavior or any choices!” she declared.  “I do not have to tolerate anything others wish to do.”

She acknowledged, however: “I do have to love and speak and do what’s right!”

Knox’s attorney in the case against the school stated, “These Facebook posts that she made were done on her time, at her home, after school hours, on her home…

Legendary figure skater and announcer Scott Hamilton has been a staple of the sport since the 1980’s. He has been inducted into the US Olympics and World Figure Skating Halls of Fame. He also created the entertaining Stars on Ice program where he would often perform his signature backflip to the delight of audiences.

The backstory to Hamilton’s success, however, makes what he achieved all the more incredible. In an I Am Second video, Hamilton shares the numerous and serious health issues he struggled with throughout his life and skating career.

As a child, he suffered from an undiagnosed disease which stunted his growth. He shares that he went to the local skating club merely by accident, and that was the beginning of his journey on ice.

Hamilton went on to win four consecutive figure skating titles and took home the gold medal in the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo.

But that wasn’t the end of his health struggles. In 1997, he was forced to leave his skating career to be treated for testicular cancer. Due to the cancer treatment, Hamilton didn’t believe he could ever have children, although he and his wife, Tracie, badly wanted them.

Through these struggles, Hamilton says he learned to put his faith in God.

The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, a Georgia-based network of 1,800 churches with missionaries in more than 30 countries around the world, announced Friday that it has lifted an 18-year hiring ban on practicing homosexuals for some roles but will not consider them for leadership roles in the organization.

“CBF is moving from a hiring policy focused exclusively on sexuality to a policy that focuses on Jesus and His work to transform the world,” CBF Executive Coordinator Suzii Paynter said of the organization’s new hiring policy. “We are a Fellowship, a big tent of faithful believers and autonomous, innovative churches in partnership. While we do not agree on everything, we have shown Baptists and others that we can come together in a relatively short amount of time, focus on what unites us and come of out it poised for a bright future.”

In the organization’s previous hiring policy, CBF leaders pointed to an adherence to a traditional biblical understanding of human sexuality as a requirement for employees.
