Topic: Your Passion And Your Preservation [Seeds of Destiny Friday February 9, 2018]

Scripture: Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Psalm 91:9-10

Thought For The Day: No one can waste the life of a God chaser.

Like we saw previously, in our world today, people are being driven by different passions. Some are driven into sin, and consequently destruction by their passions. However, it is important to note again that passion for God is the most profitable passion in life and eternity.

Today, we are going to see more profits of passion for God.

1. Your passion for God determines your protection by God. David was passionate for God (Psalms 63:1-6) and in Psalms 23:4, he said, Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

No one can waste the life of a God chaser. You cannot be pursuing God and the devil is successfully pursuing you unto destruction (Isaiah 43:1-4).

2. Your passion for God determines your prominence in life. Daniel was passionate for God (Daniel 6:10) and he was the most prominent personality in the Babylonian and Medio-Persian Empires (Daniel 6:1-3). You cannot be obscure if you are passionate for God. Isaiah 60:1, says, Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

People who were passionate for God in scripture – Joseph, David, Nehemiah, Esther, Job, Daniel etc., were prominent in their generations. They put God first and they could not come last in their generation.

Beloved, pursue God consistently, and the things the world is struggling for would struggle for you.

Remember this: No one can waste the life of a God chaser.

Assignment (S):

1. Make your daily fellowship with God a priority. Pray, worship God and study the Scripture before you begin your daily activity.

2. Make demands on the preservation Power of God over your life, family, and career.

Topic: Unlikely Friends [Our Daily Bread 9 Friday February, 2018]

Read: Isaiah 11:1–10, Bible in a Year: Leviticus 6–7; Matthew 25:1–30

The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together. Isaiah 11:6

My Facebook friends often post endearing videos of unlikely animal friendships, such as a recent video I watched of an inseparable pup and pig, another of a deer and cat, and yet another of an orangutan mothering several tiger cubs.

When I view such heartwarmingly unusual friendships, it reminds me of the description of the garden of Eden. In this setting, Adam and Eve lived in harmony with God and each other. And because God gave them plants for food, I imagine even the animals lived peacefully together (Genesis 1:30). But this idyllic scene was disrupted when Adam and Eve sinned (3:21–23). Now in both human relationships and the creation, we see constant struggle and conflict.

Yet the prophet Isaiah reassures us that one day, “The wolf will live with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together” (11:6). Many interpret that future day as when Jesus comes again to reign. When He returns, there will be no more divisions and “no more death . . . or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (Revelation 21:4). On that renewed earth, creation will be restored to its former harmony and people of every tribe, nation, and language will join together to worship God (7:9–10; 22:1–5).

Until then, God can help us to restore broken relationships and to develop new, unlikely friendships.

Prayer: Dear Father, help us to break down barriers and to seek to befriend others; and as we do, enable us to be bearers of the gospel of peace.

One day God will restore the world to perfect peace.

Insight:

Do you long for a day when animals will no longer prey on one another and people will not be bullied? In the days of Isaiah, Assyria was the “Goliath” that made Jewish hearts melt in fear. The prophet Isaiah foresaw a future time when the Messiah will rule and man and beast will live in peace (Isaiah 2:1–4; 11:6–9).

Topic: Called to Intercession [Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Friday January 9, 2018]

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. – Matthew 5:4

Do you know what Jesus was really talking about when He said those words? He was talking about the mourning of the intercessor. He was teaching about the comfort that comes to the intercessor when he is assured by the Holy Spirit that he has prayed through.

To pray through means “to break through the barriers that have stopped the work of God in the lives of others.” It means using your spiritual armor to push back the forces of darkness that surround them.

There’s a desperate need for believers who are willing to do that today. There’s a need for intercessors who will go before God and reach out for His mercy and compassion for the sinner, for the sick and for this downcast world. For prayer warriors who will stick with it until they have the assurance inside, in their spirits, that every barrier is broken and every area of bondage has been abolished.

God is looking for intercessors like that—and there are certain things that won’t happen on this earth until He finds them. There are blessings and moves of God that won’t come until someone gives birth to those things by prayer.

Even the Lord Jesus Himself was ushered into the earth by intercession. Remember Simeon and Anna? They were both intercessors, prayer warriors of God. They’d spent years in spiritual mourning, praying for the Messiah to come. But when they were done, they experienced the comfort of the Holy Spirit. For when they saw Jesus as a tiny baby in the temple, they recognized Him and rejoiced.

If you’re wondering if you’re one of those who’s been called to intercession, then you probably are. God is calling believers everywhere to experience that unique kind of mourning and comfort that only the intercessor knows. He’s calling you to lay down your life for others through prayer.

Somewhere in the world, someone needs you to pray them through. Spend some time on your knees today.

Topic: God Is The Greatest Giver [Andrew Wommack’s Daily Friday February 9, 2018]

John 4:10, “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.”

Jesus asked this woman for a drink of water, but it wasn’t water He was interested in. He wanted to give this woman eternal life.

God is the greatest giver there ever was. He lives to give. When He asks something of us we can be assured that it is only so He can multiply it and give it back to us.

God is not interested in the water we can give Him. We don’t have anything to offer God that He doesn’t already have. God wants us. And by asking us to give of our time and money or desires, He is really asking us to give ourselves.

Many a person has walked away from God sad, like the rich young ruler because all they could think about was what they would have to give up (Mk. 10:22). All of our achievements and possessions are nothing compared to what God offers us in exchange.

Just as Jesus turned this woman’s attention toward what He had to offer her, we need to focus our attention on what the Lord has given us in Christ. He is no fool who gives up what he can not keep to receive what he cannot lose.

Topic: Life Changing Power [Billy Graham’s Daily Friday February 9th, 2018]

I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. — Galatians 2:20

One day, by a simple act of faith, I decided to take Jesus Christ at His word. I could not come by way of the intellect alone; no one can. That does not mean that we reject reason. God has given us minds and the ability to reason wherever reason is appropriate, but the final and decisive step is taken by faith. I came by faith. Does it work when a person comes, repenting of his sins, to receive Christ by faith? I can only tell you that it worked in my own life. Something did happen to me. I didn’t become perfect, but the direction of my life was changed. I found a new dimension to life. I found a new capacity to love that I had never known before.

Prayer for the day: The day I received You, Lord, it was a childlike act of faith. My whole life was changed!
