Judge Rules State Cannot Target Magistrates for Beliefs on Marriage .

Magistrate Gayle Myrick won her landmark case against the state of North Carolina. (YouTube )

A landmark federal ruling, finalized recently, says that the State of North Carolina violated civil rights laws when it forced a magistrate to resign because of her beliefs about marriage.

The ruling in Myrick v. EEOC shows that faith and LGBT rights don’t have to be at odds with each other. Reasonable solutions can be found to protect the dignity of each person. This case also resulted in a…

Our Daily Manna February 8, 2018: ODM devotional — The Power of the Human Heart

Topic: The Power of the Human Heart [Our Daily Manna ODM Thursday, February 8th, 2018]

Basic Scripture: Matthew 15: 10-20

Jesus said the heart is so powerful that it is what comes out of a man that defies or defiles him (my paraphrase of Verses 18-20 of today’s basic scripture).

For instance what would make a man so bitter that he would take out a gun and kill many souls? The deadliest shooting in US history was in Las Vegas late last year in 2017.

Don’t forget the planes that were hijacked and rammed into one of the tallest buildings in the world in 2001 which killed thousands of souls! I remember seeing ISIS killers beheading Christians and journalists on tv! What a world!

Oh, the heart of man! The power of human heart was revealed when another terrorist rammed his hired van into a crowd in the same New York city just a few weeks ago! Note that in all this wicked acts, the thought to do evil started from the heart.

Prayer Points: Take Song 1: Draw me nearer…

  • In your own words, pray on today’s word as led now.
  • Lord, send me as a helper to someone today and use me to sharpen someone this week in Jesus name.
  • Lord, send New helpers into my life and ministry this week and this year in Jesus name.
  • Holy Ghost, paralyze whatever will turn my helpers away from my life and ministry this year in Jesus name.
  • Pray Psalm 64. Pray about today generally as led.

Help a soul daily. Give out this ODM edition as a special New year gift. Children ODM and New ODM and New ODM cartoon are also available.

Kenneth and Gloria Copeland’s Daily February 8, 2018 Devotional: Tithe With Joy

Topic: Tithe With Joy [Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Thursday January 8, 2018]

And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee for an inheritance…that thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth…and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to place his name there. – Deuteronomy 26:1-2

Tithing. Most Christians aren’t very excited about it. But they should be—and they would be if they understood how to do it properly.

Scriptural tithing stirs up faith. It activates the power of God in our lives when we do it in gratitude and joy, expecting our needs to be met abundantly.

In Deuteronomy 26:8-9, God told the Israelites exactly what to say when they brought their tithes. He instructed them to acknowledge the fact that He had brought them out of the bondage of Egypt and to say:

“The Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders: and he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.”

What does that have to do with you and me? God has done the same thing for us! He’s brought us out of a life of bondage and poverty into a life that flows with the abundance of God.

So when you bring your tithe to the Lord, follow the example set by the Israelites. Make it a time of rejoicing. Make it a time of realizing anew the wonderful things Jesus Christ has done for you.

Thank Him for delivering you from a land of darkness and scarcity and bringing you into His promised land of plenty. Thank Him that it is a land of mercy, a land of joy, a land of peace and a land of prosperity.

Tithe in faith, expecting the rich blessings of that land to be multiplied to you. You may soon find it to be one of the most exciting things you can do.

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 26

Andrew Wommack’s Daily 8 February 2018 Devotional: He Left Judaea

Topic: He Left Judaea [Andrew Wommack’s Daily Thursday February 8, 2018]

John 4:1,3, “When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized disciples more than John…He left Judaea.”

Text: MT. 4:12; MK. 1:14; JN. 4:1-3

This is an interesting passage of scripture. On the surface, it might look like Jesus was running from a fight. Now that John the Baptist was out of the way (he had been imprisoned), it was inevitable that the Pharisees would attack Jesus.

One thing we can be sure of is that there was no fear on our Lord’s part. On other occasions He demonstrated that no one could do anything to Him if He didn’t allow it (Lk. 4:29-30; Jn. 7:30, 44-46; 8:20, 59; 10:39).

Therefore we can assume that Jesus left because He knew it was God’s will. On another occasion when His half brothers dared Him to go to Jerusalem and confront the Pharisees, He told them that it wasn’t time for Him to go yet (Jn. 7:1-6). A lesser man would have been intimidated into showing His superiority.

Jesus was the most selfless person who ever walked the earth. He did not come to earth for Himself, but for us. If He would have defended Himself, we would have never been saved. The humility of Jesus was surely interpreted by some to be weakness, but in truth it was love. Not love for Himself, but love for a dying world of which He was the only hope.

Billy Graham’s Daily 8 February 2018 Devotional: Power Over Sin

Topic: Power Over Sin [Billy Graham’s Daily Thursday February 8th, 2018]

Those who belong to Christ have nailed their natural evil desires to his cross and crucified them there. — Galatians 5:24 (TLB)

The strength for our conquering and our victory is drawn continually from Christ. The Bible does not teach that sin is completely eradicated from the Christian in this life, but it does teach that sin shall no longer reign over you. The strength and power of sin have been broken. The Christian now has resources available to live above and beyond this world. The Bible teaches that whosoever is born of God does not practice sin. It is like the little girl who said that when the devil came knocking with a temptation, she just sent Jesus to the door.

Prayer for the day: Lord Jesus, I need Your power continually. You know how many times I am tempted.

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

Moody Bible Admin. Still Not Addressing Concerns, Julie Roys Says; Former Prof. Files Lawsuit

(Photo: YouTube/Moody Admissions)The Solheim Center at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, Illinois, March 3, 2017.

Following a leadership shakeup at Moody Bible Institute the doctrinal direction of the school is being brought into focus as is the administration’s willingness to overlook things that contradict its policies, according to a former employee.

At issue of late is the school’s decision to hire an ordained woman, Janay Garrick, to teach in violation of its doctrinal statement.

Last month, Garrick filed a lawsuit arguing that she had been discriminated against and was wrongfully terminated for advocating that women be able to pursue careers in ministry at MBI. Garrick, who taught at the Chicago campus from December 2014 through the end of 2017, also said Moody created a hostile work environment and has asked the court to award her “lost and future wages and benefits, payment of contract damages, punitive damages and legal fees.”

Writing on her blog Tuesday, Julie Roys, formerly the host of Moody Radio’s “Up for Debate” broadcast, noted MBI’s hiring of Garrick was further evidence of the culture of mistrust the administration has produced along with its other actions when faculty have presented the administration with concerns about the theological direction of…

Rachael Denhollander Accuses Sovereign Grace Ministries of Covering for Larry Nassar

Rachael Denhollander Accuses Sovereign Grace Ministries of Covering for Larry Nassar

Former U.S. gymnast Rachael Denhollander has accused Sovereign Grace Ministries (SGM) of covering up accusations of sexual abuse by U.S. Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar.

As ChristianHeadlines.com previously reported, Denhollander gave a nearly 40-minute long testimony in court against Nassar. Although she presented him with the Gospel and extended forgiveness, she also called on Judge Rosemarie Aquilina to give him justice for his crimes.

Nassar was sentenced to between 40 and 175 years in prison. But Denhollander’s brave stand for the truth didn’t end in that courtroom, just like it didn’t begin there.

In her testimony, she made reference to the cost of speaking about the abuse she suffered. She noted that it put strain on her relationship with her church and other Christian people. Now, she has spoken out against Sovereign Grace Ministries and its former leader C. J. Mahaney.

“Rather than engaging with the mountains of evidence that I brought, because this situation was one of the most well-documented cases of institutional cover-up I have ever seen, ever, there was a complete refusal to engage with the evidence,” Denhollander told Christianity Today.

She further alleged that a lawsuit against SGM was dismissed not because there wasn’t evidence for its claims but because the statute of limitations had passed.

In response to…
