MESSAGE:

Sometimes, I look around and I can’t seem to recognize Christians anymore. To be a Christian is to be Christ-like; to have His nature and behaviour, but this is not the case with many so-called Christians today. When you see someone falling or weak in the faith, what do you do? Do you laugh at the person, make the person a topic for gossip or do you pray for the person? When you see someone who does have food to eat or is wearing rags, do you begin to look down on the person or do you step in to help the person in whatever capacity that you can?

Hebrews 12-12 tells us that we are to lift up weak hands and feeble knees, not ignore them or gossip about them. We are to stand in the gap! When last did you pray for someone around you? When last did you share what you had with someone who needed it? You need to always stand in the gap, not just for your friends and family members, but also for those who you are not close to

Topic: You Are Ordained For Glory [TREM’s Daily Tuesday February 6, 2018]

“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:” 1 Corinthians 2:7 (KJV)

You see, God has ordained you for glory. There are things already inside you. Before you were born, God ensured that He packaged things in you for your glory. You are not packaged for shame. So, if you are experiencing shame right now in any area of your life, I come to tell you that it is not the plan of God.   Don’t expect or anticipate anything like shame because you are called to a life of glory. Always look inward!  What you have inside you is greater. 1 John 4:4 says: “……Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world”. You have something that the devil is afraid of and it is right inside you.

God said concerning them in Genesis 11:6: “…….. will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do”.  Have you sat down to imagine what you will become or what you want to be in life? Have you imagined how your life will end? Have you sat down to imagine how you will come out of your situation? ‘Whatever they have imagined’!  Your outside body may be small but what is inside is bigger. You may not have a big frame like I do. You may look small from the natural standpoint but inside you is a king. The problem we have always had is that we are not looking at the inward man. The bible says for though the outward man perishes the inward is renewed day by day.

You are brilliant and very smart because you have the mind of Christ. You are made in the image of God. Christ in you is the hope of glory. Christ the Anointed One with all His glory and with all his wisdom is in you. The day you receive Christ as Lord and Saviour everything changed. In fact, every negative thing about you was levelled out. That is the power of the new creation! Alleluia!

Some years ago, a 12 year-old boy was a key witness in a lawsuit. During cross examination, one of the lawyers after aggressive questioning, asked, “Your Father told you what to say, didn’t he?” Yes”, answered the boy. “Now tell us”, pressed the lawyer, “What were his instructions?” “Well”, replied the boy, “Father told me that lawyers would try to tangle and confuse men in my testimony, but if I would just be careful and tell the truth, I could say the same thing every time.” That story was celebrated worldwide and was even carried by Times Magazine! But the Holy Ghost is using it to send a message across your destiny pathway today: In this world of deceit, stick to the truth always! Stick to the truth always is a WINNING PRINCIPLE IN LIFE AND MINISTRY and it will help you to defeat enemies in 2018!

It will also take away the garment of shame and ACCELERATE your DECORATION! Vs. 5 of today’s scriptures says, “A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who speaks lies will not escape.” It is saying that he who speaks lies will not escape from SHAME AT LAST! .

In this New Year, form a strong habit of always telling the truth, in and out of church, in rain or in sunshine. Lying may look like a way out, but it is actually a way into EVENTUAL DISGRACE. Lying is the language of the devil. He deceives through sickness, pain, failure, fear, etc. Do not accept his lies. Walk in the truth and no matter how the devil and his “DEMONIC LAWYERS” want to entangle and confuse you as you walk through life, keep saying the truth all the time. Want to be and remain a champion in this year 2018? Stick to the truth always! By the way, do people really believe your words/promises? Think! Pray now!

Topic: Praising Through Problems [Our Daily Bread 6 Tuesday February, 2018]

Read: Job 1:13–22, Bible in a Year: Exodus 39–40; Matthew 23:23–39

Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble? Job 2:10

“It’s cancer.” I wanted to be strong when Mom said those words to me. But I burst into tears. You never want to hear those words even one time. But this was Mom’s third bout with cancer. After a routine mammogram and biopsy, Mom learned that she had a malignant tumor under her arm.

Though Mom was the one with bad news, she had to comfort me. Her response was eye-opening for me: “I know God is always good to me. He’s always faithful.” Even as she faced a difficult surgery, followed up by radiation treatments, Mom was assured of God’s presence and faithfulness.

How like Job. Job lost his children, his wealth, and his health. But after hearing the news, Job 1:20 tells us “he fell to the ground in worship.” When advised to curse God, he said, “Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” (2:10). What a radical initial response. Though Job later complained, ultimately he accepted that God had never changed. Job knew that God was still with him and that He still cared.

For most of us, praise is not our first response to difficulties. Sometimes the pain of our circumstances is so overwhelming, we lash out in fear or anger. But watching Mom’s response reminded me that God is still present, still good. He will help us through hard times.

Prayer: Lord, prepare me for the times when praise is most difficult to utter.

Even at our lowest point, we can lift our eyes to the Lord.

Insight:

When we suffer we often ask why? But this might not be the best question. When Job’s friends tried to explain away Job’s pain, they angered God (42:7). A better question is Who do we turn to? Job never received an explanation for his pain, but he found that seeing God was answer enough (v. 5).

Thought For The Day: Your passion for God determines your portion with God.

It has been proven that everyone has a passion for one thing or the other. The question is, where does that passion lie and where would it lead?

There are people who may sleep in church while the pastor is preaching for lack of passion for God but they can stay throughout the night watching movies because that is where their passion is.

The truth is, passion for God is the most profitable passion in life.

Concerning passion for God, let us take note of the following:

1. Your Passion for God determines your portion in life or your portion with God. If you do not love God, you have nothing with God (Mathew 6:33).

2. Passion for God determines prosperity in life (2 Chronicles 26:5). Prosperity is not all about money, it is all about total welfare. How you fare in this life and in eternity is determined by your passion for God.

3. Passion for God determines progress in life. Isaac was passionate for God and he made progress in life. Genesis 24:63 mentioned about how Isaac went to the field at eventide to meditate and in Genesis 26:13-14, he moved forward because of his passion for God. Passion for God determines progress in life. No devil, witch or power of the occult can tie down a person who is passionate for God.

Remember this: Your passion for God determines your portion with God.

Assignment (S):

1. Make demands on the grace for an unquenchable passion for God continuously.

2. Feed on the Word of God daily to increase your spiritual fire.

3. Live with the consciousness of eternity.

The world’s order of things is unsure and indefinite. Desperate words of uncertainty are crying out daily from radio, television and newspapers. Everything around us seems to be in turmoil.

But, praise God, if you’re a believer you have something you can depend on: the unchanging Word of God!

God has no double standard. He doesn’t say one thing today and something else tomorrow. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

If you will make the Word the final authority in your life, it will give you stability when everything else around you gives way. If you’ll let what God says settle the issues of life, you’ll be confident when others are confused, peaceful when others are under pressure. You’ll be overcoming when others are being overcome!

What does it mean to make God’s Word the final authority? It means believing what He says instead of believing what people say. It means believing what He says instead of what Satan says. It means believing what He says instead of what the circumstances say.

Determine in your heart to do that today. Make up your mind to live by faith, not by sight. Fearlessly commit yourself to the authority of God’s Word and there won’t be anything in this unstable world that can steal your security from you.

John 3:30, “He must increase, but I [must] decrease.”

Text: John 3:22-36

John the Baptist had spent 30 years in preparation for his ministry. He didn’t enjoy the normal benefits of childhood or adolescence. He lived out in the deserts separated unto God instead (Lk. 1:80).

For approximately six months, he enjoyed success in his ministry like no other man ever had. He started preaching in the wilderness–not the centers of commerce. Still the multitudes flocked to him. He became the most influential man in Israel and even shot the hearts of Roman rulers. Everything was going John’s way.

Then he baptized Jesus and proclaimed Him as the long-awaited Messiah (Mt. 3:13-17; Jn. 1:29). From that time on, the multitudes who once followed John began to follow Jesus in ever increasing numbers (Jn. 3:26). His own disciples left him to follow Jesus (Jn. 1:36-37). This would have destroyed most men.

Yet when he was questioned about this very thing, John replied, “He must increase but I must decrease.” Surely this is one of the characteristics that made John the Baptist the greatest of all Old Testament prophets (Mt. 11:11). Jesus later revealed that “he that is greatest among you shall be your servant” (Mt. 23:11). John is one of the greatest examples of humility in the Bible. “Before honor is humility” (Pro. 18:12).
