Dear Reader,

It is wonderful to be able to share God’s Word with you once more in this column. Today, if you look around, you will find out that peace is a scarce commodity in the world. Many are desperately searching for it, but Jesus said in John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Since the month began, I have been teaching on prayer as a key to meeting your needs; thereby establishing lasting peace in your home. Here, I will conclude the teaching by giving you more Benefits of Prayer. I am sure that you will be blessed.

What are the Benefits of Prayer?

Deliverance

Prayer is God’s prescription for deliverance from every affliction of the wicked (James 5:13). When one person in the home is down, the other(s) can stand in the gap and enforce his or her deliverance by praying and declaring God’s Word over him or her. I remember a time when my health was being attacked. I had prayed, declared the Word and did all I knew to do, but my strength seemed to be failing the more. Then my husband received an insight from God’s Word, prayed over me and that ended the trial! I was healed and delivered.

James 5:15 says: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Prayer can revive any situation!

In Genesis 25:21, the Bible says: And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was entreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Remember, as a child of God, barrenness is not your portion, so if the devil is trying to afflict you with it, cry unto God for your deliverance. With the agreement of your spouse and unwavering faith in God, your prayers will surely be answered. Don’t watch afflictions reduce your home to a place of woes, because until God hears your voice in prayers, your deliverance is not in view.

The children of Israel were in bondage for 400 years but in Exodus 3:7-8 the Bible says: And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

This is your hour of release from that long standing affliction in your home! However, you should call on God as stated in Jeremiah 33:3 and be sure of His deliverance.

Divine Presence

In a home where the members do pray for one another, there won’t be room for hatred, malice or unforgiveness. Rather, there will be a free flow of love, which makes the atmosphere conducive for the presence of God. When God is present, a hedge of fire surrounds your home, which keeps the devil and his cohorts away (Job1:8-9). Fullness of joy and everlasting pleasures or peace is what you experience when you make room for God’s presence to dominate your home (Psalm 11:16).

Freedom from Cares

Philippians 4:6 says: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Cares and worries are some of the major root causes of lack of peace and God’s prescription against it is also prayer. If you accommodate cares and worries, they will choke the peace of God out of your home. That is why 1 Peter 5:7 says: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. As you go to God in prayers, He lifts the load of cares off your shoulders, so that you can enjoy your peace while He takes charge of the situation.

In Matthew 6:27 Jesus said:  Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? Don’t take prayer for granted, it is an all-purpose drug for the cares of life. Some people, especially women, would rather cry than pray. The time you spend crying can be put to more productive use if spent in prayers, because by so doing, you hand over your battles to God.

Exodus 14:14 says: The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. Don’t let the pressures of life overcome you. Hold your peace and let the Lord fight for you! Whatever issue is threatening to tear your home apart, hand it over to God in prayers, He can handle it (Matthew 19:26).

With this key in your hand, no enemy will be able to disturb the peace of your home any more. You will begin to handle your family matters effortlessly henceforth, as you receive divine instructions through prayers. God has given you peace; go forth and enjoy it in Jesus’ Name!

However, if you are not born again, you are not entitled to the peaceful married life that God has reserved for His children. God’s grace of salvation is extended to you right now. If you desire to be born again, say this simple prayer in faith: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for delivering me from sin and satan to serve the living God and thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

Congratulations! If you prayed this simple prayer of faith with me, you are now born again and a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Topic: Sharing Our Faith [Andrew Wommack’s Daily Monday January 29th, 2018]

John 1:41, “He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.”

Text: John 1:37-42

Andrew was the first disciple of Jesus to share his faith and bring another to Christ. And look who it was that he brought.

Peter became one of the greatest apostles of Jesus. He preached on the day of Pentecost and saw 3,000 born again. He healed a lame man at the gate of the temple and 5,000 were born again as a result. He raised Dorcas from the dead, introduced Christianity to the Gentiles, and wrote two books of the Bible which have ministered to millions of people through the centuries.

Just think of how many millions of people Peter touched, and Andrew was responsible for it all. The accomplishments of Peter recorded in scripture, far outnumber those of Andrew, and yet without Andrew, Peter would not have known Jesus.

In the eyes of God, what Andrew did was just as important as what Peter did. As the one who introduced Peter to Jesus, Andrew had a part in every exploit of Peter. In the day when we receive our rewards from the Lord, Andrew will share in every reward that Peter receives.

Very few of us will shake our world as Peter did his, but all of us are called to share our faith with others as Andrew did. And who knows? One of those that you reach could be the next Peter.

Topic: Share What He Has Done [Billy Graham’s Daily Monday January 29th, 2018]

I will declare thy name unto my brethren . . .  — Psalm 22:22

There are those near you in your own community who need the regenerating power of Christ. You can call them by name. I suggest that you make a list and begin by spending time in prayer for them. Ask God to show you how to witness to them and how to win them. Their lives can be transformed by the message you give them. You are to share this Gospel you have received.

If Christ has done anything for you, then share it. In so doing, you are showing mercy! As you have received the mercy of God by the forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life-thus you are to show mercy! And in showing mercy you will not only receive mercy but you will find a stimulating happiness!

Prayer for the day: As I close my eyes in prayer, let me see the faces of those who need to know You, beloved Savior.

Topic: You Have A Right Standing With God [TREM’s Daily Monday January 29th, 2018]

“For He hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV)

Right now, wherever you are, if you have received Christ as your Lord and Saviour you are the righteousness of God in Christ. It means you have a right standing with God. It means that every time of your life, you stand right with Him. You never stand wrong in the presence of God. It means you have God’s DNA in you. It means you have authority to pray and expect answers. It means you have authority to rebuke the devil and expect him to obey. That is what right standing is. It means that you have been discharged and acquitted, the case is closed and it can never be appealed. There is nothing the devil can do about it. Why? Because you have a right standing!

Your righteousness is not dependent on what you did right or wrong. It is a gift! A gift is not earned. You didn’t earn it, you didn’t deserve it and you didn’t merit it. It was just given to you. All you do is to enjoy it. That is grace! Remember grace is unearned, unmerited and underserved. It is unconditional. It is not because you are being rewarded, No! It is predicated on God and God alone. It is God being good to you because He is good and gracious. It comes to you as a result of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.

Christ’s righteousness is one of the things that grace has made available to us and it is time for the infallible proofs of those things in our lives to begin to manifest physically. It is not enough to have it in the spirit. No! It is time we begin to experience it in our lives and see it expressed in different areas of our lives. When you know what grace has brought into your life, you will no longer be a pushover for the devil. Knowing who you are in Christ also means knowing what Jesus purchased on your behalf and the benefits of His death burial and resurrection.

Topic: Just Do It [Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, Monday January 29th, 2018]

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. – Luke 13:14

Religion is dangerous. Religion would rather debate about healing than see somebody healed. Religion would rather argue about deliverance than see someone set free.

You can see an example of that in Luke 13. Jesus healed a woman who had been bowed over for 18 years. Think of it, a dear old woman—a daughter of Abraham Jesus called her—set free after being bound by the devil for nearly two decades. You’d think the temple rulers would have been rejoicing at what Jesus had done. But, no! They were angry because He’d done it on the wrong day.

Do you know what’s worse? Those very same religious leaders who criticized Jesus for healing on the Sabbath could have ministered healing to that woman themselves on any of the other six days of the week if they’d cared enough to do it.

That’s why Jesus was so indignant with them. They had the same covenant of Abraham that Jesus was ministering on. But their religion had kept that woman bound instead of setting her free. It always does.

Remember that next time someone tries to get you sidetracked into a religious debate about healing or deliverance. If someone needs to be delivered from a demon, just do it! Don’t get all hung up on theological questions about where the demon is.

“Is it in his body? Or his brain? Or his spirit? Or his pocket?” While you’re arguing about questions like that, the demon will be driving the poor guy up the wall.

The question isn’t, “Where is the demon?” The question is, “Why haven’t we gotten this man delivered? He’s our blood brother in the Name of Jesus and he ought to be free!”

Once you start asking that question, you won’t care whether that demon is inside or outside, hovering over or sitting under. All you’ll care about is getting that person free!

That’s the difference between religion and the love of God. Religion argues. Love acts. Choose love today.

Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3

One evening many years ago, after saying a goodnight prayer with our two-year-old daughter, my wife was surprised by a question. “Mommy, where is Jesus?”

Luann replied, “Jesus is in heaven and He’s everywhere, right here with us. And He can be in your heart if you ask Him to come in.”

“I want Jesus to be in my heart.”

“One of these days you can ask Him.”

“I want to ask Him to be in my heart now.”

So our little girl said, “Jesus, please come into my heart and be with me.” And that started her faith journey with Him.

When Jesus’s disciples asked Him who was the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, He called a little child to come and join them (Matthew 18:1–2). “Unless you change and become like little children,” Jesus said, “you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. . . . And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me” (vv. 3–5).

Through the eyes of Jesus we can see a trusting child as our example of faith. And we are told to welcome all who open their hearts to Him. “Let the little children come to me,” Jesus said, “and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (19:14).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for calling us to follow You with the confident faith of a child.

Help the children in your life come to know Jesus. Introduce them to Our Daily Bread for Kids at ourdailybreadforkids.org.

Our faith in Jesus is to be like that of a trusting child.

Insight:

Jesus likens greatness to childlikeness. Anyone coming to Him must come in childlike dependency, expectancy, receptivity, and humility (Matthew 18:2–4). While on earth, Jesus lovingly embraced His disciples as “my children” (John 13:33), and the apostle John affectionately addressed us as “dear children” (1 John 2:1, 12, 18, 28). Used negatively, however, children or “infants” denote weak or immature believers (1 Corinthians 3:1–3; Ephesians 4:13–14; Hebrews 5:13). “Don’t be childish,” Paul warned us (1 Corinthians 14:20 nlt). Christians are to be childlike, not childish (1 Corinthians 13:11).

Topic: Her Stolen Car Was Returned With Money! [Our Daily Manna ODM Monday, January 29th, 2018]

A strange car “thief” might have gotten away with the perfect crime – except that the culprit didn’t have any criminal intent at all. Erin Hati woke up in her home in Portland, Oregon, USA to find her old, red, Subaru missing from the driveway. After checking her security footage, she saw that the cameras had filmed someone getting into her car and sitting with the engine idling for seven minutes before finally driving away.

Thinking that it was peculiar for a car thief to waste time the owners driveway,Erin filed on police report for her stolen automobile. She didn’t have to wait very long, however, when on the next day, Erin’s husband saw a police officer talking to a woman who had returned the car with a note and cash left inside. The note read: “Hello, so sorry I stole your car.

I sent my friend with my key to pick up my red Subaru at 7802SE Woodstock and she came back with your car. I did not see the car until this morning and I said, that is not my car. There is some cash for gas and I more than apologize for the shock and upset this must have caused you. If you need to speak further with me, I am……… and my number is……… So, so sorry for this mistake.

As it turned out, the intended car was parked 10 yards away from the stolen car and older Subaru keys were sometimes interchangeable with other models locks, which resulted in the mix-up. These mistakes are often referred to as stealing because whatever is taken without the permission of the owner is stealing in this definition. And don’t forget that some mistakes have turned out to become mishaps in life ministries and Holy Ghost is saying to a user of today’s devotional is that every mistake from you and those around you will turn out for your good at last! Whatever was mistaken from you shall be returned this year!

Whatever you lost mistakenly shall be restored. Mistakes shall be your ladder this year! The mistakes that will lead to tears shall pass over you! Don’t forget that it was the one mistake/error of Ahitophel (not forgiven David for killing his grandson in law and marrying his granddaughter Bathsheba) that led to his suicide and his disgrace. Pray seriously now!

Thought For The Day: The unction that backs you determines the action you can take.

Sometime ago, a man came to see me in the office and told me of an encounter he had when he first got in contact with our Church. He said at that time he was a student of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna state, Nigeria. He came to our Church in Abuja, Nigeria and saw the wonderful things God was doing. He said that when he heard and saw some drastic testimonies, he began to doubt the authenticity of what he saw because he had an orthodox background.

When he went back to Zaria, he asked God to reveal to him if He (God) was the one using the man of God (referring to me) in that Church. Then he said that he had a very frightening and dangerous encounter that made him to cry unto the Lord for mercy. He said since then, he had come to believe that God is the One using His servant. Afterwards, God gave him an instruction to be connected to our ministry and since then, his life changed.

He brought a document of a job worth 300 million dollars which was awarded to him. He discovered the secret of prophetic and parental connection. And I told him that greater things than that would happen in his life.

Beloved, your personal vision is limited. Spiritual fatherhood gives you the capacity to see farther than you are currently seeing.

Vision is foresight while dream is insight. If your spiritual father gives insight to your foresight, he makes you know in details what you thought you knew.

When you are under a spiritual cover, you will stand for what your spiritual father stands for; his belief becomes your belief.

So, never take the goodwill and blessing of a spiritual parent for granted. This is because the unction that backs you determines the action you can take.

1. Always pray for your prophetic cover.

2. Ask God for a multiplication of God’s grace on his life.

Prayer: O Lord, I ask for the grace to connect properly to the prophetic cover over my life in Jesus’ Name.

Topic: A New Identity [DCLM Daily Manna Monday January 29th, 2018]

Text: Jonah 3:1-10 (KJV)

1 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,

2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days’ journey.

4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat in ashes.

7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:

8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.

9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

Key Verse: “So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.” (Jonah 3:5)

Unlike some nations who became stiff-necked even after repeated warnings from God, the people of Nineveh were contrite in spirit. They knew they had offended God and needed His mercy. They also did not take God for granted; hence, their prompt response to Jonah’s simple message. The people of Nineveh did not wait to see any sign; they did not want to behold God’s angry frown. Jonah had been sent to the city of Nineveh to warn them of an impending doom as a result of their sin. In the preceding chapters, Jonah had initially thought he could hide from the presence of God as he was reluctant to carry out the simple assignment until he suffered some strange punishments from Him. When he was rescued from the belly of a fish, he decided to preach to Nineveh.
The people received the message and repented in ashes and sackcloth. The king declared a national mourning for their collective sins and fasting to show their level of sorrow for sin. As in all cases of genuine repentance, the omnipotent and omniscient God decided to show them mercy.

It’s glorious to read how a whole city moved from condemnation to justification. Nineveh got a new identity; they changed their status (2 Corinthians 5:17). It was now a new day for Nineveh. As they repented of their sins and turned to God in faith, they were spared.

Today, the same grace Nineveh appropriated is available to whosoever will humble him/herself. The Almighty is willing and able to forgive and forget. Today will be a day of grace for you if you, like the Ninevites, truly repent, forsake your sins and receive Christ as Saviour. God never despises a broken and a contrite heart.

Thought For The Day: God is more interested in forgiving sinners than in destroying them.
