Andrew Wommack’s Daily 12 January 2018 Devotional: God Desires Faith

Topic: God Desires Faith [Andrew Wommack’s Daily Friday January 12th, 2018]

Luke 2:7, “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Text: Luke 2:1-7

What an amazing account! God Almighty was born of a virgin and placed in a feeding trough in a stable. Who would ever expect the Creator of the universe to make His entrance into the world in such a humble fashion?

Men always seek to proclaim their glory as far and wide as possible. Yet here is the only one who really has any glory to proclaim, and He comes humbly. It wasn’t because He didn’t have the power to do things otherwise.

He could have chosen to be born in a fashion that would have brought all creation to their knees in worship. He could have announced His birth to the most powerful and famous men of the day instead of lowly shepherds. He could have had the most luxurious accommodations instead of a stable. But that is not the way of our God. It would not have taken any faith on the part of men if Jesus came in such a manner that His deity was obvious.

Likewise with us, the Lord could manifest Himself to us in such a way that we couldn’t miss Him, but that wouldn’t please Him. God desires faith and, “without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Heb. 11:6).

Today, let’s please our Heavenly Father and acknowledge His presence in faith just because of His promise (Mt. 28:20; Heb. 13:5).

Billy Graham’s Daily 12 January 2018 Devotional: God Never Makes Mistakes

Topic: God Never Makes Mistakes [Billy Graham’s Daily Friday January 12th, 2018]

Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

God is especially close to us when we are lying on a sickbed. God will make the bed soft and will freshen it with His presence and with His tender care. He makes the bed comfortable and wipes away our tears. He ministers to us with special tenderness at such a time and reveals His great love for us.

Tell me why the gardener trims and prunes his rosebushes, sometimes cutting away productive branches, and I will tell you why God’s people are afflicted. God’s hand never slips. He never makes a mistake. His every move is for our own good and for our ultimate good. Oftentimes He must deform us and mutilate our own image. Deformity sometimes precedes conformity.

Prayer for the day: When times of tribulation come, help me, dear Lord, to glory in them for Your sake.

Written by Billy Graham, Founder of Billy Graham Evangelistic Association(BGEA). BGEA exists to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ by every effective means and to equip the church and others to do the same.

What Actually Is the New Jerusalem? .

The biblical story begins in a garden of delight, and then it focuses on our embodied God who physically died, rose again and is remembered in the material symbols of the bread and cup. Our hope is equally physical. We long for our resurrection, when we will live as whole people—body and soul—in the new Jerusalem on the new earth. This ending may be surprising, but it is a fitting climax to the story God has been telling all along. If we back up, we’ll see how the story began—with a…

LG Shows Off TV That Rolls Up Like a Poster

LG DisplayThe LG rollable display

TVs have certainly come a long way from the big bulky boxes of 20th century living rooms. Now LG Electronics once again took the next developmental step to this quintessential living room appliance with a new 65-inch 4K OLED screen that can be rolled up like a newspaper.

Displays that can be rolled up aren’t really the newest tech in town with LG unveiling an 18-inch roll-out display at last year’s CES. However, by unveiling a 65-inch model, the company shows that it is nearing perfection. In fact, the manufacturer called it a “world’s first” during its unveiling at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Last Vegas.

The TVs design aims to optimize space utilization allowing the massive screen to be packed and conveniently stored away when not in use. This is especially useful for those living in urban areas where extra space is often considered a luxury. While LG has yet to release more details to its TV it did reveal that the key to its roll-up design is the fact that it doesn’t need backlight to run.

But a 65-inch foldable TV isn’t the only thing that will be showcased at the event as LG is also set to show off its new 88-inch 8K OLED display. Addition to a higher pixel density, the TV also comes with Crystal Sound OLED technology which allows sound to emanate directly from the panel.

In addition to new products, LG also introduced a number of updates to its existing OLED TV and Super UHD TV lineups, promising better image quality and more advanced processors. LG’s AI OLED TVs will also have Google Assistant so users can control them with voice…

Google Manipulating Searches of Conservative Sites, Leaving Liberal Sites Alone, Analysis Finds

REUTERS/Dado RuvicPeople are silhouetted as they pose with laptops in front of a screen projected with a Google logo, in this picture illustration taken in Zenica October 29, 2014.

Evidence continues to mount that the world’s most powerful search engine is deliberately manipulating search results they deem objectionable by providing sketchy fact-check reviews of conservative websites while leaving liberal sites untouched.

The Daily Caller reported earlier this week that Google is now displaying fact checks for conservative websites in its search results. When an Internet user looks up certain news sites that skew to the right, Google offers additional information about the site on a sidebar, such as what themes the site often write about, and a “Reviewed Claims” section.

These reviewed claims are instances where the publication has made a claim thought to be dubious and is linked to Snopes or another fact-checker report on the matter.

And some of the claims for which Google is providing reviews give the impression that the site in question habitually engages in spreading unsubstantiated rumors as factual.

One of Google’s reviewed claims that they labeled as “unproven” for The Federalist was that the conservative outlet had written that a woman named Eileen Wellstone claimed former president Bill Clinton raped her while he was a student at Oxford in the 1960s. But among the thousands of articles the Federalist published in the past few years, only one mentions Wellstone and it was in the context of describing Clinton’s long history of sexual misconduct.

The Federalist simply reported that…

Child Misdiagnosed With the Flu Now ‘Singing With the Angels’ .

A seemingly healthy California middle-schooler died only four days after her mother says she was misdiagnosed with the flu. Now, her mother is warning other parents with sick children to press their doctors for further testing.

Twelve-year-old Alyssa Alcaraz loved choir and had a passion for all music. “Not a day went by that she wouldn’t sing her little heart out. Now she’s singing with the angels,” her obituary stated.

Alyssa’s mother, Keila Lino, says when her daughter wasn’t feeling well, she…

The Power of the Meek and the Humble

What a prospect for a new year—fresh joy! Isaiah 29:19 declares, “The meek also shall increase their joy in the Lord.” The idea is that the humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. With the prospect of a fresh year, I want that fresh joy! I’m assuming you do as well.

The meek, the humble ones, understand their complete need of God for everything and in everything. Their humility is honesty that leads to faith. Often beginning with brokenness over sin, the humble are honest about anything that grieves the Spirit. This involves owning or confessing specific sins with appropriate transparency to the proper extent. Remember, that work which Jesus accomplished to pay the penalty for sin is nothing God has called us to redo. In humility, we are to rely on it, reach out in faith, and take what He has graciously offered—the cleansing and clearing of the conscience.

But humility is more than walking in the light to restore fellowship with God. Humility understands the deviousness and the ultimate futility of the self-life.

Self-will can only hinder one’s walk with God. Self-dependence saps power for victorious living. The humble are honest about the vanity of it all and see beyond the deception. They forgo taking the lead down paths of their choosing and yield instead to being led, drawn by the Spirit to embrace the will of their Lord. They forsake their strength and find through faith a power in Him that changes lives.

To exchange your will for the will of another takes humility. To exchange your strength for the strength of another takes humility. In…
