Spiritual adviser to Trump claims President ‘put prayer back into the White House’

Speaking on a Fox News show, the televangelist and pastor Paula Michelle White-Cain, better known as Paula White, asked: “Isn’t it nice to be able to say Merry Christmas, and to put Jesus Christ back on the White House lawn?

“[Trump] is a man of faith, he is a believer, he’s spiritual.

  

“Trump just hasn’t put Christ back in Christmas, but he’s also put prayer back into the White House. He’s put justice and religious freedom back into our courts.”

 

On Christmas Day, the US President took credit for making people proud to say “Merry Christmas” again.

He tweeted: “People are proud to be saying Merry Christmas again. I am proud to have led the charge against the assault of our cherished and beautiful phrase. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!”

President Trump has long rallied against the phrase “Happy Holidays”, which he deems excessively politically correct.

Taylor and Hannah Lindeman were rushing to a hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota on Christmas Day. After her water broke, they were forced to pull over to the side of the highway to wait for an ambulance. Their baby “had other plans,” however, as Hannah later told a reporter.

She gave birth to a daughter in the car’s front passenger seat. A police officer arrived shortly after the birth and tied off the umbilical cord with a shoelace from Hannah’s boot. The couple expects to return home today.

As a father of two, I cannot imagine the stress these parents felt. But their momentary travail led to joy beyond description.

In other news, US retail holiday sales jumped 4.9 percent this year, the largest increase since 2011. Total sales are on track to reach $671 billion. This was bad news for overworked store clerks and online sales staff but good news for retailers and their shareholders.

In coming days, however, consumers will return about $90 billion worth of goods. But even that news is good news for FedEx and UPS, which are trying to get a bigger slice of the pie for deliveries and returns.

So much of life is perspective. While I certainly believe in absolute truth and objective morality, I also know that the attitude we bring to the events of our lives is enormously significant.

From physicians to pastors, anyone who works with hurting people soon learns that the way they approach their pain can either increase their suffering or infuse it with redemptive purpose. Across four decades of Christian ministry, I have witnessed astounding courage and resilience in the face of overwhelming challenges. But I also know hurting people who have turned from God in anger and despair.

Clearly, difficulties make some people bitter and other people better.

Construction halted at church destroyed in September 11 attacks

 The new building was designed by renowned architect Santiago Calatrava, who created the soaring white bird-like shopping centre and transit hub nearby called the Oculus.

But unlike the transit hub, built largely with federal transportation money, the church is being funded through donations including from the Greek government, Greek Orthodoxchurch members around the world, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston and the Italian city of Bari, whose patron saint is St Nicholas.

In September, the estimated cost was 50 million dollars (£37.8 million), but according to The New York Times, which first reported the work suspension, the cost had jumped to an estimated 72 million (£53.8m) to 78 million (£58.3m) as of this month.

 

Two firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers and BakerHostetler, were hired to perform an independent investigation into the construction, according to a statement posted on the website of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America on December 9.

The stoppage was ordered by the construction company on the project, Skanska USA, the statement said.

“The archdiocese is confidently hopeful that construction will recommence in the very near future and has been assured by Skanska … that they are looking forward to the rescinding of this temporary suspension to continue working together in cooperation…

Tesla Pickup Truck Could Disrupt $100 Billion Market

Tesla is continuing its disruptive ways by hyping up the prospect of an electric pickup truck. The company already unveiled the Tesla Semi which suggests that it isn’t too far away from launching an electric vehicle that is bound to shake this $100 Billion market.

According to CEO Elon Musk, the pickup will be made “right after” the Model Y crossover arrives between 2019 and 2020. As with most of Musk’s promises though, this should be taken with a grain of salt however, it does give investors an idea of what the electric automaker is gunning for.

The pickup truck market is a big one with the Ford F series of pickup trucks being the biggest selling vehicle of any kind in the world. With most car companies being focused on electrifying sedans, Tesla’s pioneering status could be a massive advantage to the company.

There is currently not a single vehicle with a battery large enough to supply a 200-mile drive range, let alone with a boat or trailer towed behind it. Pickup trucks are not cars, they can go place the average car wouldn’t even dream of, and that means places where there is likely zero charging stations.

By the time of the General Election in June, Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron, who happens to be Christian had lost count of the times he’d been asked by journalists whether gay sex was a sin.

 

While Farron didn’t particularly help by seeming to offer different answers, all quarters of the Church were having their own battles with the issue of sexuality.

In June, the Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC) described its move to allow gay weddings in its buildings as “a momentous step”. The move led to discipline by the Anglican Communion and was the final straw for conservative Anglican group GAFCON who appointed a missionary bishop to oversee churches who felt they could no longer work within the SEC.

Wales nearly got its first gay bishop when Canon Jeffrey John seemed the most popular choice in the Diocese of Llandaff – the other Bishops in Wales weren’t so sure.

The Church of England carried on discussions over sexuality at its General Synod (when is it not talking about sexuality) but it was its advice to its schools which hit the front pages that encouraged teachers to let pupils cross dress. Justin Welby then angered conservatives when speaking to LBC radio when he suggested there was “no problem” with a boy wearing a dress.

MESSAGE:

Marriage between a man and a woman is approved by God. Besides companionship and receiving a life-time helper, another reason why God established marriage is for the continuity of the human race. Genesis 1:28 says,

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”

After creation, God blessed man to be fruitful, to multiply and refill the earth. Similarly, in Genesis 9:1, after the great flood that wiped out all of mankind except Noah and his family, God pronounced the same blessing on them. Beloved, God loves fruitfulness, and that is one reason why He instituted marriage. He wants the human race to multiply and spread all over the earth. His desire is for the earth to be subdued and dominated by man whom He has created in His own image. However, this does not justify raising a family without planning for it. If you are married, you and your spouse should prayerfully decide how many children you would add to populate the earth. Never bring children you are not able or prepared to take care of into this world.

While God wants all of mankind to multiply, He particularly wants those who are His own to bring forth godly seeds. In order words, while regular inhabitants of the earth are reproducing and adding to the world’s general population, believers are expected to raise godly seeds that would later reach out to the rest of the world. In today’s Bible reading, the Lord plainly stated that He allowed His children to marry so as to produce special children: a godly breed. God wants children who meet ‘heaven’s specifications’ from the homes of His people. Can He say that He has found them in your own home? Not every Christian family can raise these special breed of children, even though they have the potential to. It takes a deliberate collaborative effort between the Holy Spirit and parents to raise children who meet God’s specification of a godly seed. These are heaven-bound children who will walk closely with the Holy Spirit in their lifetime. Their foundations are laid in God’s word and doctrine. They are grounded in the knowledge of God and are carriers of His light. May God help us raise godly seed for His glory in Jesus’ Name.

Key Point: Christian couples should not just trust God for babies but for godly seeds.

SpaceX Rocket Launch Leaves Ghostly Trail Spooking Southern California Residents

REUTERS/Scott AudetteThe unmanned Falcon 9 rocket launched by SpaceX lifts off from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The rocket blasted off but narrowly failed a novel test to land itself on a platform in the ocean.

A recent SpaceX rocket launch in Southern California had an unexpected effect when it left behind a ghostly trail that spooked nearby residents. The rocket was reportedly hauling a group of telecom satellites into Earth’s orbit but instead of a massive plume of smoke, it left a strange, morphing orb glowing in the night sky.

The rocket took off from Vandenberg Air Force Base in central California causing a flurry of activity on social media thanks to the trail. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk joined in the fun posting an image of the trail on Twitter with the caption “Nuclear alien UFO from North Korea.”

However, not everyone was aware of the trail’s origins. In fact, many residents were unaware that a rocket launch occurred that day leaving them spooked and mystified by the strange phenomenon. Fortunately, scientists were quick to provide an explanation.

“Water vapor from the aircraft engine exhaust is immediately exposed to very cold temperatures at very high altitudes,” writes meteorologist and Forbes contributor Marshall Shepherd. “The impurities in the exhausts and the very cold temperatures are the perfect recipe for a condensation trail.”
