These 13 Christian Leaders Went Home to be with the Lord in 2017

A number of influential Christian figures finished the work God gave them to do and went home to be with the Lord this year. These men and women were authors, evangelists, pastors, teachers, and involved in ministries of all types. They represent an incredible cross-section of who God chooses to be a part of His Kingdom and to bring others into that Kingdom. We can draw much inspiration and encouragement from learning about their lives, but we can also look at their lives as reminders that without Christ, we are lost, but with Him, we can do all things for which He will equip us. We hope that you benefit from reading through this list of 13 influential Christians who faithfully lived out their callings and are now at rest.

Secularists make official complaint over BBC’s “PR exercise for C of E”

NSS said the episode, which included an interview with Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Rev Justin Welby, amounted to a “PR exercise for the Church of England”.

NSS chief executive Stephen Evans wrote: “The bias and deference towards the Church of England demonstrated in this show suggests a ‘cosy relationship’ has developed between the BBC and the Church, which undermines public confidence in the BBC’s commitment to impartiality.”

The episode was broadcast on 14th December from Lambeth Palace, which is the Archbishop Justin’s residence.

The show included a performance from a Westminster Abbey choir, the Bishop of Manchester speaking about the Church’s ethical investment fund and Archbishop Justin’s chaplain reflecting on the Grenfell Tower fire six months on.

The NSS added the episode was inappropriate in light of the…

Limbless Evangelist Nick Vujicic’s Wife Gives Birth to Twin Girls Days Before Christmas

(Photo: Facebook/Nick Vujicic)Limbless evangelist and inspirational speaker Nick Vujicic with his wife, Kanae, in a photo posted December 18, 2017.

The wife of inspirational Christian speaker and author Nick Vujicic, known throughout the world as the “limbless evangelist,” as he was born with no arms and no legs, has given birth to twin girls just days before Christmas.

“Thank you all for your love and prayers! Babies Olivia and Ellie were born on Mommy’s Birthday, 5 pounds 2 ounces and 5 pounds 14 ounces. Mommy is well and so are the girls. Thank You God!” Vujicic posted on Wednesday on his Facebook page, which is followed by over 9 million people.

Back on Monday, Vujcicic posted another update, with a photo of himself and his wife, Kanae.

“Olivia and Ellie Vujicic, God willing will be born on Wednesday morning. Mommy did so great with the pregnancy! Thank God they seem to be healthy! Thank you for your prayers now and during Kanae’s recovery,” he wrote.

The couple, who also have two older children, with their fist son, Kiyoshi, born in February 2013, and their second son, Dejan, in September 2015, found out that they may be having twins back in June on Father’s Day.

“Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there! Today was an exceptionally extra special Father’s Day for me, after we recently just found out something extraordinary!” the evangelist posted at the time, linking to a short video that announces Kanae is pregnant with twins.

“Thank you for your continued prayers for our growing family! God is good!” he said at the time.

Vujicic has often talked about his struggles with depression…

Female Evangelical Leaders Call on Church to Speak out on Violence against Women

Female Evangelical Leaders Call on Church to Speak out on Violence against Women

More than 140 evangelical Christian women from across the political and theological spectrums have signed onto a statement calling churches to end the silence around violence against women and the church’s participation in it.

The statement, released Wednesday (Dec. 20), is accompanied by the hashtag #SilenceIsNotSpiritual and is part of a campaign that will run through Easter on April 1, 2018.

    As for the church:

Tesla Stock Is Overvalued Even If It Meets Projections

Reuters/Lucas JacksonTesla slowly rolled out its HW 2.5 update to improve the computing capabilities of older vehicles.

Things continue to look grim for Tesla, with production bottlenecks and massive capital burn rate perpetually keeping it on the edge of collapse. But while some continue to hold on to hope that the electric automaker will eventually reach profitability, some have already given up hope, believing that the company’s fate is already sealed.

The company’s market capitalization is currently at $57 billion, surpassing the likes of decades-old Ford and GM while only selling a small fraction of what the old guard can produce. This has prompted many to see the automaker as overhyped and overvalued, even if they somehow manage to turn a profit.

While Tesla might not be a traditional car manufacturer, it’s still a manufacturer in all sense of the word, and one that is positioned in an industry known for its thin profit margins. With that in mind, analysts are questioning whether its current market cap is justified, whether or not it reaches profitability.

The automaker claims it will meet its 1 million vehicles a year production goal by 2020. So far, this is possible with sales for its Model S and Model X currently growing at about a 4.5% year-over-year growth rate. This equates to around 120,000 Model S and Model X yearly sales rate by 2020 suggesting that the bulk will be made up of its mass-market Model 3.

However, this still doesn’t come close to what Ford and GM can put out casting which means its valuation comes from its reputation rather than its business. To put it simply,…

Christian man does half a million ‘skips to the loo’ for charity

The organisation provides loos, clean water and hygiene training in some of the poorest communities in the world.

The Christian father-of-two from New Malden told Premier he set himself the ambitious target of completing half-a-million rope skips in a year after God challenged him about trust.

He said: “At the end of 2016 I’d felt God prompting me around the idea of ‘two halves’ and asking me to do my half and let him to the rest.

“The idea of completing half-a-million skips in 2017 was born and it’s been fun to do something enabling me to combine faith and action.”

He added that a mission trip to a hospital in Madagascar last year also spurred him into action. He was particularly moved by watching a disabled man with withered legs having to drag himself across the ground, through the dirt, to go to a pit latrine.

“We saw how important some of the things are that we take for granted, like having a clean toilet to use,” he told Premier.

“There are millions of people who don’t have that and seeing what the facilities were like, that was a bit of a stimulus.”

Toliet Twinning invites people to ‘twin’ their loo at home with a latrine overseas for a £60 donation, and to sponsor a toilet for a family abroad.

Just 12 days short of his 31st December deadline, the 42 year-old completed 500,000 turns of the rope and raised almost £2,000.

His regime involved 1,500 skips a day in stints of about 11 minutes. Until July,…
